ContentSelector Bug in Workshop 8.1 sp1

Hi,
I'm using workshop8.1 sp1 and following the tutorials to show personalized
content in a portlet. See the link: http://e-docs.bea.com/workshop/docs81/doc/en/core/index.html
and follow the index as:- Tutorials -> Portal Tutorials -> Tutorial: Showing Personalized
content in a Portlet -> Step 6.
This part of the tutorial tells you to add the pz:contentSelector tag from the
pallette and then to select ellipsis icon in a rule field.
But when I go to rule field, I do not see any ellipsis icon to select the content
and also further I do not see any -> icon for Content Slector Designer, which
this tutorial mentions (see the attached screen shot).
Can anyone tell me how to enable the ellipsis and -> icon for the pz:contentslector
tag in the property editor or if it's a bug?
I appreciate if someone from BEA could answer that. We are in the phase of evaluating
this tool and this really demoralizes our team to use this further for any development
purpose.
Thanks,
Amit Sinha

  • Bug in workshop Project Properties for a Java Project !!

I have a Java project which i am trying to make work with junitee so
that i can automate my test cases. I have installed junitee as a web
application named 'junitee' and configured it no problem.
I have my JUnit test cases in Java Project named 'UnitTest'. What i want
to happen is that when i build my UnitTest project i want the resulting
JAR file UnitTest.jar copied into the WEB-INF\lib of the junitee project.
In order to do this i needed to change the project 'Build' options and
select the "Copy JAR file from Libraires to Project as" and refer to the
    junitee web app as follows:-
    ../junitee/WEB-INF/lib/UnitTest.jar
Unfortunately when i do this and select Ok to save my changes workshop
    gives me the following error:-
The JAR name contains illegal characters. Please correct the name.
However i have managed to get around this and make it work by manually
modifying my .work file by hand and not through workshop. This works and
achieves exactly what i want however it must be a bug in workshop to not
allow this through the Project Properties window !.
Else if it is deliberate then i cant see why as you should be able to
copy a JAR file to any lcoation inside the project if you wish to. I
hope this gets fixed in SP3.

  • Bug report: on LabVIEW 2011 SP1 and Windows 8 'Open URL in default browser.vi'

    Dear colleagues,
    Here is a bug report.
Culprit: 'Open URL in default browser.vi'.
    System: Windows 8, Professional. LabVIEW 2011 SP1.
Abnormal behaviour and steps to reproduce:
Above mentioned VI doesn't work when LabVIEW was started with administrator privilegies. And it works as expected when LabVIEW running in normal (non-administrator) mode.
Looking forward to see this fixed.
    Best regards,
    Igor Titov.

    Hi Igor,
Unfortunately LabVIEW 2011 SP1 does not support Windows 8. I tested this behavior with LabVIEW 2012 SP1 on Windows 8 and everything worked correctly.

  • Optimal XP Configuration for Workshop

We've put Workshop 8.1 SP1 on WinXP Pro workstations (2.3GHZ, 1Gb RAM, 20Gb HD). We used them for our week of BEA Portal training. The performance was miserable - it took minutes for jsps to compile and open for debugging - and they locked up or crashed at least twice a day. After class, we upgraded to SP2 (we couldn't during class to avoid conflict with class examples) but have seen no appreciable difference in stability or performance. BEA provides "minimum" requirements (PIII 700Mhz, 1 Gb RAM), which we exceed. Before I go essentially sell my first born to get our PC guys to get me some newer PC hardware (we buy Dell OptiPlex as our corporate standard - can get 3.2GHz w/ 2Gb RAM), are there other tweaks which may help? I've received internal suggestions to possibly get the Dell Precision WinXP workstation to get:
    * A bigger, faster disk (70 Gb, 7200rpm SATA) and create a much bigger swap file (15-20Gb).
    * A dual proc XP box
But before we sink $3,500 into these, would this help my problem? Or is Workbench just slow and unreliable?

    Mike,
Have you tried running with SP2 yet? You should notice perf
    improvements with SP2.

  • Feedback node crashing bug

I have came across a nasty bug that caused Labview 2010 SP1 (Runnnig Win 7 Ultimate x64 bit) to crash without any warning.
To replicate the bug do the following:
Add a numeric control and another indicator to the front panel
Switch to block diagram and add a feed back node
Connect the initializer terminal of the feed back node to the output of the control
Now do ANY of the following to cause the bug:
Press the run buttong (which is broken due to not connecting the input of the feed back node) it will turn to a normal run without displaying the error
Do an extra action and undo it, the run button will turn from list error normal
So far the Vi can be saved normally. Now connect the output of the feed back node to the indicator and try any of the followings:
    Save the VI
    Close the VI
Create a new project and select to add the VI to the project
This will cause Labview to crash without any notice!
When you are at step 4, the bug is there but harmless. Once you combine it with step 5 (connect to indicator), the bug is active and cause crashing. I have attached a snapshot of how the Front panel/block diagram look like before saving (since it can't be saved). Notice how the run button is enabled although the input of the feedback node is not connected.
I have tried to replicate the error on Labview 2009 but couldn't.

  • Workshop problem in building relationship

    Hi there,
It seems that workshop (comes with WebLogic 8.1) has problem building
relationship. It keeps saying that it cannot retrieve column info. from my

    source/table works fine.

    Thanks.

Thanks for the assist, your option B was the problem. It appears thatwhen using
the "create entity bean from database table" feature the data-source-nameproperty
is set by workshop to the JNDI data source name, and NOT the NAME. Whenusing
the 'Add Relation' feature the wizard uses this name, which of coursewon't work!
But, it has to be the JNDI name because in weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml
    <weblogic-rdbms-jar>.<weblogic-rdbms-bean>.<data-source-name> has to be JNDI
name. EJBGen puts the name here...
So, I still think it is a bug:( A work-around is to name the NAME and JNDI
    Name the same?
    >
Now, I'm getting some error about can't find table!!! I guess it doesn'treally
matter since I can just use the "have workshop generate foreign keys"option,
since we don't use the appserver to create the tables. The "query table"option
is just a little more convenient.
    Again, thanks for the help!
    Michael Kovacs <[email protected]> wrote:
    Hi Byron,
The error you're seeing is because the relation wizard
is unable to find your datasource on the server. It does
this by looking up the datasource mbeans on the server.
    A couple of things:
    A) Make sure that your datasource is created on the server.
There's a couple of different ways you can accomplish this:
    1) Use workshop's datasource viewer under Tools->WebLogic
    Server->Datasource Viewer...
and make sure you see your datasource.
    2) Use the console or weblogic.Admin to make sure that your datasource
exists. In the console you'd look under Servcies->JDBC->Datasources.
With weblogic.Admin the MBean type that you would look for, and that
Workshop looks for, using the command line tool is: JDBCTxDataSource
So a sample command to get these MBean types would be:
java weblogic.Admin -url t3://localhost:7001 -username weblogic
-password weblogic get -type JDBCTxDataSource -pretty
(making sure of course that you have weblogic.jar on your classpath)
If you don't see the JDBCTxDataSource MBean that corresponds to your
datasource then workshop isn't going to find your datasource.
    B) Make sure that the datasource NAME that you specify for
your entity beans match what the NAME of the datasource
is on the server. Not the JNDI name but the name of the datasource.
    hope this helps,

  • Cluster VI Reference Minor Bug

Over on LAVA PJM_labview posted a video of a bug found in LabVIEW 2013 SP1.  It is a minor bug with the block diagram when showing a cluster constant with a VI reference constant in it.  Here is the video of how to reproduce the bug.

I played with this and filed it as a CAR (#479432). Intriguingly, there are a couple workarounds:
    Option 1
    On block diagram:
    1. Create cluster constant containing refnum with auto-sizing set as arranged (vertical or horizontal)
    2. Create typedef
    3. Unlink from type def
    4. Change auto-sizing to desired value
    5. Recreate typedef
    Option 2
    On front panel:
    1. Create cluster containing refnum control
    2. Create typedef
    On block diagram:
    3. Create constant from cluster typedef on block diagram.
    4. Unlink constant from typedef, change auto-sizing as desired, recreate typedef

  • Bug when specifying url-pattern in web.xml

    Hi
I have been using Weblogic 6.0 Beta and managed to specify the following
              security constraint
              <security-constraint>
              <web-resource-collection>
              <web-resource-name>SecurePages</web-resource-name>
              <description>no description</description>
              <url-pattern>/control/signin</url-pattern>
              <url-pattern>/control/refreshUser</url-pattern>
              <url-pattern>/control/updateUser</url-pattern>
              <url-pattern>/control/deleteaddress</url-pattern>
              <url-pattern>/control/updateaddress</url-pattern>
              <url-pattern>/control/refreshcontacts</url-pattern>
              <url-pattern>/control/updatecard</url-pattern>
              <http-method>POST</http-method>
              <http-method>GET</http-method>
              </web-resource-collection>
              </security-constraint>
This works fine as you would expect. I have upgraded to Weblogic 6.0 Service
Pack 1 Rolling Patch 1 and the same web.xml file no longer works. When you
try and start the server Weblogic hangs just after loading the Oracle driver
              that I use.
The odd behaviour is that if I change the order of the url-pattern elements
so that the updatecard URL is above the refreshUser URL the server starts!
              (shown below)
              <url-pattern>/control/signin</url-pattern>
              <url-pattern>/control/updatecard</url-pattern>
              <url-pattern>/control/refreshUser</url-pattern>
              <url-pattern>/control/updateUser</url-pattern>
              <url-pattern>/control/deleteaddress</url-pattern>
              <url-pattern>/control/updateaddress</url-pattern>
              <url-pattern>/control/refreshcontacts</url-pattern>

Looking at the weblogic.jar file the URLMatchMap class is a new addition
over the original Weblogic 6.0. It seems that the put method of the
URLMatchMap may be going into an infinite loop, dependant on the URLs that
are being entered. The fact that changing the order of the URLs overcomes
the bug seems to suggest there may be some coding error in this new class.
A fix would be great if anyone has one.

  • MSI 1612 Error with ZEN 7 SP1

Since upgrading to ZENworks for Desktops 7, I have been unable to
distribute MSI applications. I always seem to have an error 1612 when
the application tries to distribute. I believe that this error usually
means that the path to the installation files cannot be found, usually
because of a file rights issue, but that doesn't seem to be the case here.
I distribute most applications by associating them to workstations or
workstations in a container, though I have the same 1612 error if I do
associate by user. I have the same problem whether the Distribute in
Workstation Security Space if Workstation Associated option is enabled
    or disabled.
I typically use the File Rights screen under the Common tab to assign
rights to the distribution files directory, so I know that the
workstation object has rights to the files. Just to test this, I
created an app object to run an Explorer window as an unsecured system
user and made sure that I could browse to the distribution directory as
    the System account.
    I am currently running ZENworks 7 SP1 on a NetWare 6.5 SP5 server. All
workstations are running Windows XP Pro SP2.
As an experiment, I tried working around the problem by creating a
simple application object and running an MSI installation by calling
msiexec from a predistribution script as follows:
    %WINDIR%\System32\msiexec.exe /i "\\GRYPHON\DISTRIBUTION\West Point
Bridge Designer 2004\West Point Bridge Designer 2004.msi" /qn
Installing this way seems to work fine.
Any ideas what is going wrong?

  • Workshop generated WSDL.

In short when I load a WSDL that Workshop generates into XMLSpy , SoapScope , and
Cape Clear Studio 4 the file shows up as invalid.
So when I tried to generate a WSDL with Cape Clear Studio 4 using the same input
    and out put
parameters for the previously generated wsdl file from WorkShop, WorkShop compiles
the schema but the says method blah blah cannot be executed.
Is this a bug with Workshop or just me not doing something correctly.

Here is a big one for you.
basically I took a WSDL that web logic generated. Put it in another wsdl tool
    and
added a header to it. I also renamed the service and port binding too.
Workshop did compile that and produce a web service for it.
I do not know if I am the cause of the error. In the attached
WSDL you can see that I added to header messages.

    Tim,
Can you attach the generated WSDL and the errors displayed.
Also can you verify the build number from the WebLogic Workshop IDE.
The build information can be obtained from Help -> About WebLogic Workshop
The build number for the GA release is Version 8.1 Build ( 2003.0710.190003)

In short when I load a WSDL that Workshop generates into XMLSpy ,SoapScope , and
Cape Clear Studio 4 the file shows up as invalid.
So when I tried to generate a WSDL with Cape Clear Studio 4 using thesame
    input
    and out put
parameters for the previously generated wsdl file from WorkShop, WorkShopcompiles
the schema but the says method blah blah cannot be executed.
Is this a bug with Workshop or just me not doing something correctly.

  • WLS 6.0 SP1 is installed -- but does not seem to

I have downloaded WLS 6.0 for RedHat Linux and I am running a RedHat
    distro.
I have also downloaded WLS 6.0 SP1 for UNIX, since the linux binaries do
not include SP1. Installation went fine, I have the

Timestamps of certain files were also modified, again proof that SP1 is

I never really checked if all of the problems that I was having were
    fixed. Now I did check.
SP1 does not SEEM to be installed based on the following:

    [weblogic@jsalvo-desktop mydomain]$ sh version.sh
    WebLogic Server Build: 6.0 12/13/2000 22:49:45 #94427
    WebLogic XML Module: 6.0 12/13/2000 23:02:44 #94427
No proof of any SP1 in there. And SP1 is supposed to 2001, right?
    2) encodeURL() returns a session ID with slashes in it. This is a bug
that existed prior to SP1 and I was one of those who reported in the
servlet newsgroup. SP1 is supposed to fix this problem (see below and
posts by BEA employees in the servlet newsgroup that this will be fixed
in SP1), but I am still having the problem.
    From http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs60/notes/bugfixes2.html#1073617:
041478 There was a change in session cookie format that also fixed
    some problems with URL rewriting.
    3) This one I really do not know how to describe, but the problem with
WLS 5.1 SP8 wherein you get the port 80 displayed on Netscape browsers'
URL ( like: http://testserver:80/index.jsp ) also appears with my
    installation of WLS 6.0 SP1.
Lastly, I am running Apache and have also updated the shared libraries /
    modules ( mod_wl.so, etc. ) accordingly from WLS 6.0 SP1 into libexec/
of Apache. Of course restarting Apache via apachtl.
So, I am sort of stumped.
    Any help appreciated,
    John Salvo

It turned out to be a corrupted SP1 download.
I just tried installing again ( using my original SP1 download ), it
said "Congratulations! <blahh...>". But the log file in
$BEA_HOME/logs/wlserver6.0/install_sp1.log did show that it failed.
So I tried installing again with the new SP1 download ( same size,
different checksum ), and everything worked okay.

I think I found out why.
Although the installer did not complain, saying it installed
sucessfully, I found a log file of the SP installation and there was an
    error logged.
    I'll try to reinstall.

Neither of the items you suggested indicate SP1 is installed .... but I
DID install SP1 and it did not complain. I did notice during the SP1
installation ( console mode ) that it took a fair amount of time
insatlling when it reached the last two dashes ( again, console install
The only proofs that I have that SP1 is installed are
    * The uninstalled_servicepack directory, which is mentioned in the docs
if you want to take a peek at what files have been changed or replaced
    by the service pack
    * Timestamps of certain files ( .jar files, .so files in lib/linux/ )
    have changed.
    * Filesizes of the above files also changed.
Is this why Michael Girdley mentioned that there will be a separate WLS
6.0 SP1 for RedHat Linux? But the SP1 for UNIX does contain Linux
    binaries ( lib/linux/*.so ).
    Thanks,

  • LabVIEW 2013 SP1 Quit LabVIEW

    Hello all,
I have a question regarding the Bug  425800 (Quit LabVIEW will not quit if the event 'Application Instance close' is present) in LV2013. According to NI this Bug is fixed in LV2013 SP1.
I have an application, which was converted from LV2011. The application compiled in LV2011 worked well.
After converting to LV2013 I had the issue, that the exe won't quit. I updated to LV2013 SP1 and mass compiled my project. After building the executable again, I have the same issue. My compiled EXE (LV2013 SP1) will not quit.
One VI contain the 'Application Instance close' event, because the PC is connected to an UPS and the application should be terminated in a save way in case of power loss.
Is there any other reason why the 'Quit LabVIEW' will not work?
As a little reminder: The application worked well in LV2011.
    Regards
    Heinrich Eidloth

    Dear Mr Eidloth,
I would like to help you resolve this issue.
Would you mind sending me your program to look into so I can help you better?
Alternatively you could try running the added example to test the functionality of  the "Application Instance close" Event and the "Quit LabView" funktion.
Thank you very much in advance.

  • App Xray in Workshop 10.2

AppXray is slowing down the build of a web application by 5x times
Although we disable the AppXray validations, it is still running AppXray
We have to remove the AppXray builder from the Builders to workaround the issue
Is this a bug in Workshop 10.2?

Nope, the performance issue isn't a known bug.
It would be helpful if you can provide instructions to reproduce:
    Standalone installation (bundled eclipse)?
Do you use Workshop shortcut to launch eclipse?
What OS are you working on?
Sun JDK / JRockit? What is the version #?
    How big is the project?
Do you see any errors/exception in the following logs?
