Context from interface controller

Hi Experts,
I am Using one DC A in DC B.
Using interface controller context mapping I got the Context of DC A in DC B.
I mapped the context also.
Now I have added new context node in DC A, I want map it in DC B.
But I am not able to see the newly added Context of DC A in the interface contrlloer.
I have done refresh, rebuild and Sync options but no use.
How can I resolve this?
Regards,
Naresh

Hi,
Copy and paste the newly created context from component controller to interface controller
Then do a build.

  • Using Interface controller in OCA application

    Hi,
    My requirement is to pass information and screen control between two components in two different DCs.
    My parent DC Component has to pass information to my child DC Component and also call the view assembly of the child DC.
    I am using CE7.1 SP07 PAT003.
    In my child DC I have created a component Interface Definition say ChildInterface. In the context of interface controller of ChildInterface I have added a string attribute. ChildInterface also has a view container.
    Now in my Child component I add ChildInterface as my Implemented Interface. I map the window of the child component to the ChildInterface. To the view container I add the default view of the component.
    Now I have created a public part and added the ChildInterface as an entity.
    I add a dependency in my Parent Component to this child DC's public part.
    At design time I can access my ChildInterface's context from my parent component. However, while adding a link from parent default view to ChildInterfaceView, it gives me an error. however on reload it suppress the error but doesnt open the java editors.
    While trying to deploy the applications it gives me a deployment failure message.

    please do attach the trace files..
    Meanwhile , just check the way you have implemented the interface and the interface defintion of achild node are correct.
    Once the implementations are correct,there should not be problem in deployment.
    Let us know if you need more info on interface definton creation ...

  • Change plug to interface controller in Netweaver 7.1

    hi ,
             We are moving to Netweaver 7.1 . Current my webdynpro application is hvng plug firing through interface controller . I hv read tht in 7.1 interface controller is abstract so tht we cnt fire plug from interface controller. I want to know how my my application ging to work in 7.1 Also where i need to make changes in case of firing plug in interface controller. Please also send me links on this topic.Thnx in advance.

    HI Kavita,
    There is no problem for fire plugs .in you application. As 7.1 supports backward compatibility.
    If you want to migrate your application then you need to take care whatever coding you have done in interface controller.
    and as plugs are defined in interface view controller. when migrating it will be converted according to new 7.1 structure.

  • Interface Controller context model attribute error

    I am trying to create a controller interface as such:  I created a DC that goes out and retrieves SAP ID using a RFC call.  My controller context is bound to a RFC model.  I'd like to expose the SAP ID that comes back from that call within a model attribute to other components.  I try to create a model node and corresponding model attribute within the Interface Controller, setting the isInputElement = true.  However, as soon as I do this I get a number of compile errors:
    "The context model node has not been bound to a model class", "The context model attribute has not been bound to a model property".
    Are you not allowed to map model nodes to an interface?

    Karla,
    First, set isInputElement to false. Think again, you are exposint "result" outside but not collecting "input" from outer component.
    Next, calculated attributes to the rescue here.
    Say, in component controller you have 1..1 / 0..1 model node <i>SapIdQuery_Input</i> with 1..1/0..1 child <i>SapIdQuery_Output</i> that holds <i>System_Id</i> attribute, type <i>string</i>.
    Now create in component controller context (right below root node) attribute <i>System_Id</i> of type <i>string</i>, set read-only to true and calculated to true. Switch to source editor and write the following for generated attribute "getter":
    if (wdContext.currentSapIdQuery_InputElement() != null &&
        wdContext.currentSapIdQuery_OutputElement() != null)
      return (String)wdContext
        .currentSapIdQuery_OutputElement()
          .getAttributeValue("System_Id");
    else
      return null;
    Now add controller usage (of component controller) in interface controller and map attribute in interface controller to calculated attribute in component controller.
    If you expirienced problems with mapping, try to create calculated attribute in 1..1 subnode of root context node.

  • Direct Context Mapping of an interface controller

    Hi all,
        I want get 2 or 3 context attributes from an interface controller of another component. I can see the attributes that I want in the interface controller of the other component. I've been reading SAP documents and other posts and everything is concepts. How can I access those attributes to get the data. I've been reading and it sounds like you can do direct context mapping and external. I'm pretty sure what I need is the direct context mapping. The other component is an SAP component (LO_OIF_MAIN_COMP) and I can not make any interface methods of the component controller. So the only way that I can figure is to either call/make reference to the interface controller and get the attributes... but I can not figure out how to do it. Please help. I've been researching this for several hours now... and in my mind it seems like a pretty concept. Thanks.

    Hi,
    I guess this seems to be WD compoent usage. you can use the steps mentioned in any article for e.g. WD ALV component usage and find out how the context mapping is done.

  • Read a View Context's node's element and assign from Component controller

    Hello Experts,
    I'm new to JAVA WD.
    Here is my scenario.
    I have to use an Adobe form in a WDJ. The input parameters and the output parameters of the DC are defined in a method in the Interface Controller method.
    The context of the Component Controller has the following structure
    Context
    ---StartDate
    ---EndDate
    ---AbsenceType
    Then the mapping between the Component controller and the interface controller is done so that the Interface controller also has the context structure as
    Context
    ---StartDate
    ---EndDate
    ---AbsenceType
    So now the interface controller and the component controller are bounded correctly.
    Now I bind the view also with the Component controller as below.
    Context
    ---StartDate
    ---EndDate
    ---AbsenceType
    But since i need to use an Adobe interactive form inside this view, the datasource for the form cannot be the root context node but some other node. So I replicated the same structure in the view context so as to make the fields visible in the Adobe form context. Now the context looks as below.
    Context
    ---StartDate
    ---EndDate
    ---AbsenceType
    ---DATA_NODE
    -----StartDate
    -----EndDate
    -----AbsenceType
    Now my question is, how do i map the result from the Adobe form into the context of the view??
    What code should i write and where should i write to achieve this?
    I need to do the following. But dont know how to write the code for this.
    Context.StartDate = Context.DATA_NODE.StartDate
    Context.EndDate = Context.DATA_NODE.StartDate
    Context.AbsenceType= Context.DATA_NODE.AbsenceType
    Please help!
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Sam

    Hello Nikhil,
    I'm stuck with another small issue.
    Let me first explain what I'm trying to do.
    I have a view with the context structure as follows
    Context
    ---DATA_NODE (Node)
    ----Data1
    ----Data2
    ---Data1
    ---Data2
    All i need to do is, at the start of the view, i need to move the data from
    Context.Data1=>Context.DATA_NODE.Data1 and
    Context.Data2=>Context.DATA_NODE.Data2
    Also, at the View Submit button click, I need to move the data from
    Context.DATA_NODE.Data1 => Context.Data1 and
    Context.DATA_NODE.Data2 => Context.Data2
    (I managed to do this submit button click by calling an action->method and wrote the code as you gave earlier)
    wdContext.currentContextElement().setData1(wdContext.currentData_NodeElement().getData1());
    wdContext.currentContextElement().setData2(wdContext.currentData_NodeElement().getData2());
    But I wrote at wdInit() for the view the code in the reverse way, but the values are not getting passed to the Data_Node and hence its not defaulting with the values from the elements of the context.
    This is what I wrote.
    wdContext.currentData_NodeElement().setData1(wdContext.currentContextElement().getData1());
    wdContext.currentData_NodeElement().setData2(wdContext.currentContextElement().getData2());
    Please let me know if I'm doing something wrong here.
    Appreciate your help in advance!
    Cheers,
    Sam

  • Map context node  web dynpro to context DATA of  interface controller ALV

    Hi Experts,
    I have started creating simple ALV by following the example in the below mentioned link.
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/3439404a-0801-0010-dda5-8c14514d690d
    I have completed 95% development but stuck with last bit of
    Set data to ALV for display (via reverse context mapping).
    When Click on the Controller Usage button. The component controller of your Web Dynpro component DOES NOT appears on the right side of the screen.
    Therefore I can not  Map context node NODE_FLIGHTTAB of your Web Dynpro component to context DATA of the interface controller of the ALV component.
    Could you please shed me light on this.
    Your time and help much appreciated.
    Best Regards
    CB

    Hi Chandra,
    You need to add component controller first. Just go to the property tab of interface controller of the alv component and click on create button and then add the component controller. After that you'll be able to see the node in the context tab.

  • How to consume a method on the interface controller from another component?

    Hello,
    I have a project which contains two Components, A & B.
    I have exposed a method at the interface controller of Component A. How can I consume it from Component B?

    Hi,
       First add ComponentA as a used webdynpro component in ComponentB. Then open the Interface Controller of B and switch to Properties Tab. Select Add in the "Required Controllers" section. From the dialog that appears, select A's interface controller. Then you can access A's method from B's interface controller as:
    wdThis.wdGetAComponentInterface().<method>;

  • Call method of interface controller from component controller

    hi,
    I have created one method in the interface controller of a component. Now i have this method along with attributes to the component controller. Now from the component controller i want to call the method of the interface controller. How do i do it???

    Hi,
    You dont need to call the method from the interface controller when you are in the same component.
    You can call the method which is in the component controller.
    Interface controller is used to expose some methods to a different component.
    Ex Comp a want to expose a method which will be used by comp b then  you need the interface controller in comp a.
    Comp b will use comp a as used component
    then it will invoke the methods.

  • Accesss the Controller Context from View

    Hi,
    could you please let me know the code to access the Component Controllers Context from View Controller

    Hi Raghava,
    Suppose the following structure is there is Component Controller.
    Vn_DummyNode
      - Va_DummyContext
    To access it from the View Controller, you have to add the Component Controller in the required list of controllers.
    You can access it using the below piece of code
    wdThis.wdGetViewControllerName().wdGetAPI().getContext().getRootNode().getChildNode("Vn_DummyNode", 0).getCurrentElement().getAttributeValue("Va_DummyContext");

  • How to create a method in Interface Controller

            I am working with webdynpro ABAP sample application "Component usage" . There i got a issue like i am not able to create a method in Interface controller. There i am not able to edit anything. Can anybody please let me know how to do that.
                Thanks In Advance
    Regards
    Ravikumar

    Hi Ravi,
              Check This
    If one Web Dynpro component (parent component) needs access to another Web
    Dynpro component (child component) the parent component can declare the use
    of the child component. A specific component usage instance is then created and
    the parent component accesses the functionality of the child component via its
    component interface controller.
    The only parts of a Web Dynpro component that are visible to the user, are the
    interface controller and the interface view(s).
    All Web Dynpro components have only one interface controller. Via the
    interface controller, data, methods, and event handlers can be exposed to
    other components.
    Interface views represent the visual interface of a Web Dynpro component.
    There is a one-to-one relationship between a Window and an interface view.
    Each time a window is defined, a related interface view is automatically
    generated, which makes the window accessible from outside the component.
    The interface view only exposes those inbound and outbound plugs to the
    component user that have the interface property checked. Methods and
    context data of the window are not accessible via the related interface view.
    If the component has no views, there is no need to have Windows. In this
    case, the component will not implement an interface view. Such components
    having no visual interface are known as faceless components.

  • Component Interface , INterface controller in WEB UI

    Hi Experts,
    Can anyone tell me what is a component interface, component usage , Interface controller and interface view?
    I am a beginner in WEB UI and is getting confused with these terms.
    Please help.
    Many Thanks,
    Neeraj

    Hi,
    component interface -> interface view:
    Here you can define which Comp/Window should be accessable from outside the component
    For example: COMP_1/MainWindow in component interface means this can be accessed as usage from other component
    component interface -> interface controller:
    In this node there is 2 child nodes: Context and Events:
    I don't know how to use Events. But in Context you can add context node from component controller, which can be accessed from outside. This is specially important, when you want to bind two context nodes from two different components.
    You can see how this can be used in component controller class in the method WD_USAGE_INITIALIZE
    component usage:
    Here you can define a usage of of other component.
    For example: In your COMP_2 you can create a usage from other component (COMP_1/MainWindow).

  • How to call a view from Interface view

    Folks,
    How to call a view from interface view (onPlugDefault method) . I was trying to set context of controller but it is not working . What is the work around.
    Manish

    Hi Manish,
    An interface view is created for each window that you have, which in-turn has views embedded, one of which is default. If you want to pass data which you have in your interface view, do the following
    - Add your component controller in your interface view properties
    - In the onPlugDefault method(I assume this is where you have the data available through URL parameters),set the component controller context variables like
    wdThis.wdGetComContr.wdGetContext().currentContextElement().setName("John");
    -Access these context variables in your view as well by adding the component controller as the required controller
    Your default view will appear automatically when you call the application.
