Control after ...authentication...

I am following Form based authentication. I have a login page. I have specified the security constraints in the web.xml.
I would like to know after the execution of login where will the controller go to?? will it go the controller servlet, followed by an action class??
For any typical event (such as create customer)---the following has been the flow:
controller servlet--> createAction-->createUserBD (business delegate) --> customerManagerEJB --> customerDAO;
Now in case of login..
After the execution of login (authentication is by form based authentication ) where will the controll go to?
My requirement is to store the logged in userID details in Stateful Session bean. how will the flow look like?

Have you tried this (cite from the article, you have mentioned, and which I have written some years ago ...):
"If an LDAP bind operation should be performed by the construction of an InitialLdapContext (e.g. to implement logon functionality), and this creation fails, there is no way to examine the response controls. An exception is thrown, and there is no context object available to invoke getResponseControls. It is not possible in this situation to learn from a Password Policy Control that the account used for the bind is locked. One option is to bind anonymously (or with a technical user) first, and afterward use the context obtained by this call to rebind with the actual credentials. When the request control for Password Policy is set before the rebind, the corresponding response control is available after catching possible exceptions. The download code contains an example (file "FailedBindWithControls.java"). Unfortunately, this workaround is not always applicable."
Or does it not apply, because an anonymous bind is no option?

ISE Wired guest portal redirect even after authentication

I have configured both Wired and Wireless guest authentication via guest portal. Wireless is working fine, however the when trying with Wired, the redireciton page is keep getting even after user authenticated.
I'm not seen the redirection authorization policy in my logs however I can see only the user authentication logs (successful). Attached is my configuration and logging output.

Actually the as per the configuration it should work, I'm still trying to find out what is what has gone wrong with this configuration. Infact I have tested with 3560 switch with the same config and it worked. only difference here is we used 2960S switch.
We need to find out why the next Auth policy is not hitting once user is authenticated.

Robo HTML 9 will not open our project from Source Control after initial start.

We have a project in version control that we have been using forever, since 2003 or so and many versions of RH. Now that we have upgraded to 9, this project will open the first time in version control and work normally. Once you close the project and attempt to reopen from the starter screen, it opens just great, just not in version control. The files are still set to read only. I have done this several times and the only way i can work on my project in version control is to act like i am opening a project from scratch, then it needs to overwrite all of my local files with the server files. It would not be so bad but I am 3000 miles away from the server and 13 hops plus a slow firewall on the other end. While this has never been a problem in the past it is a big problem because it takes hours for all the files to download and overwrite my local files.
This only happens with RH9 and Version Control 3.1. RH8 works no problem. So, I don't know if this is a RH9 starter problem or a Source Control Problem. Maybe I will make a similar thread in the RH area. I'll wait to see if I get any useful hits from this one first.
It is very strange, I had RH9 open for several days because I was afraid to close the project for this reason and yesterday I published for the month so the heat is less right now but today, it opened with no source control. If I go to Source Control the only thing i can select is put project in source control. That is how it got into source control after converting to RH9.
We have another project that seems to open from version control normally but we can only save topics in HTML view. No useful answers to that topic after a week.
Got any ideas???

Ok, here is a wierd one, I used the add to version control icon in the menu bar, It already knew the path so I figured I'm the only one who has been editing these files for the past few days so I clicked add to version control. It added it. I closed and reopeded and still had the same files checked out. Closed, checked in all, then reopened and it is working in SourceControl. Strange that after opening from source control and closing that you need to reopen and tell it to put the project into source control. Obviously some flag is not getting set somewhere. This might help others having problems reopening source control files.

I have a requirement as follows. i need to disable one field in the table control after clicking save button. i tried with SCREEN elements but it disabling whole the table control but i need to disable that particular one record only in the table control. i found Structure CXTAB_COLUMN in documentaion. it has the properties like invisible. can any body tell how can we disble that particular field in table control only for the one record. and how can we use CXTAB_COLUMN.

J_security_check not redirecting after authentication - in one environment

Hi all,
I have a J2EE web application developed in JDeveloper 10.1.3 which uses JAAS security with a custom authentication provider class. I can configure this is both a windows and unix based OC4J. The windows OC4J is stand alone, the unix one is part of a managed instance (OPMN).
When I deploy to windows, attempts to access a protected resource cause the authentication to fire off perfectly and redirect to the appropriate url after login is successful. Absolutely no problems.
When I deploy to unix with the same configuration, the authentication fires off perfectly but after authentication the redirect attempts to go to Base URL/j_security_check which results in a 404 not found as j_security_check is a logical name and not a real url.
I have tried setting the ocfj.formauth.redirect flag in the oc4j startup options and this did not seen to help. I still got the 404 error.
Can anyone advise me on whether there are any switches or parameters I need to set for the j_security_check redirection to work correctly, or is there something else I need to do in a unix (Solaris) environment to cause the redirections to work?

I just tried to deploy fulfillmentESB project(SOADemo Projects) from Jdev to Oracle App server control. But there was no webservice created in Oracle application server control under webservices link....plz help me...
Actually the steps which i had followed to deploy that fulfillment project are:
* right-click fulfillmentESB
* select Register with ESB, Integration connection
after which the fulfillment webservice can be seen in ESB control as well as application server control. But i could not able to see webservice created in application server control.
Also i tried deploying the fulfillmentESB using EAR file - no use
So kindly give me some steps to solve this issue...

Regain mouse control after movement

Hello,
I'm trying to do something that seems simple. While executing my vi, I'm trying to move the mouse to another open window to specific coordinates, click on a button of another program that starts that program running (it's not a labview program) and then move my mouse to another location and perform another click. I'm trying to use the user32.dll to do the mouse movement and clicking as several people have suggested on earlier threads.
My problem is that while the first movement of the mouse works fine, when it clicks on the other application I seem to lose all control of the mouse and cannot get control back unless I physically move the mouse and click back on my labview vi. I've tried changing the active window to switch back to my vi window as well as making the vi window on top, but those don't seem to give me control of the mouse again.
Any thoughts on if there's another function I should be using instead of user32.dll to move the mouse or any other ways I can regain control after that first movement? Thanks!

This reminds me on an issue i have while manual using Windows XP and Windows 7.
When initiating the shut down of the system, i am used to end all applications before hand. I do either terminate each application as it is recommended (Quit button), using the X of the Titlebar or simply pressing Alt+F4.
The latest option initiates the shut down of the active application. If used properly, you can shut down all application one after another without interacting with the PC otherwise (no mouse move, no other keys pressed).
The issue i observe in more than 50% times when doing so is: After closing the last application, the desktop is "in focus". But pressing Alt+F4 doesn't bring up the system shut down dialog. In this case (remember: more than 50% of all times!) i have to CLICK on the desktop and THEN can press Alt+F4 in order to get the system shut down dialog.
I assume that this situation is created by the way how Windows shuts down applications and manages "Active Application". I am confident that there is some kind of race condition: An application, which is still in shut down gets the focus, but then is terminated. Which means, no application is in focus now....
It is the same as during starting up applications with windows. Starting e.g. Firefox, i enter some URL (e.g. "forums.ni.com") and press enter. During load of the page, i start another application (e.g. LV). The LV launcher appears and suddenly, the Firefox window pops in front and displays the forums. I hate this behavior, as with other applications, the swapping of the active window takes place even during typing (e.g. entering passwords).
So i would expect you to run into a bug of the OS which is present for years now but never being addressed by Microsoft.

PS: Sorry, i have no solution for you except the recommendtion: Try to set the "active application" programmatically. Don't know if this is possible if the calling application is not already in focus. Meaning: I am not sure if this programmatic approach can only be used to pass the "active" flag from the active application to another.

Conditional branch, after authentication

We have recently implemented a list of passwords that users are not allowed to use. Basic stuff like 1234, abcd etc.
I currently use a custom authentication, so i can quite easily stop a user from changing their password to a dissallowed one. But my issue is that i want to force current users to changer their current password if it breaks the new rules.
I think that i should allow them to authenticate themselves using their current password, and then do a check to see if they should be branched to a specific screen to change their password.
Basically i want to do a conditional branch after authentication.
anybody implemented something similar? or anyone have any ideas?

Use db control after rman duplication

One might wish to access Oracle Enterprise Mananger database
control after duplicating a database with
rman (e.g. with "DUPLICATE TARGET DATABASE TO mydb FROM ACTIVE
DATABASE NOFILENAMECHECK"). Typically, we will find ourselves on
a new maching hosting the duplicate db.
Obviously the cloned repository of database control is still
configured for the source host, and, as per Doc ID 293678.1, if
the Hostname, Domainname, or Listener configuration changes after
an installation, DB Control needs to be reconfigured:
"<ORACLE_HOME>/bin/emca -config dbcontrol db -repos recreate"
Thus, all user-defined events and job definitions will be
lost. Are there any ways to avoid this?

Accessing j_username after authentication

Using Weblogic Server 8.1, I am authenticating a user with FORM based authentication.
Posting j_username and j_password to j_security_check.
Is there a way to access the j_username variable after authentication? After
the user is authenticated, I need a unique identifier to match that user to his/her
data in another database. Is there anything in the request/response headers or
in the session?

Policy Agent 2.2, IIS 6.0, CDSSO and redirects after authentication

I've got a problem where a HTTP/1.1 200 and 302 are returned by the Policy Agent / Application, after the Javascripted POST by the CDCServlet content is performed.
The expected functionality is that the user is authenticated with the AM, the CDC Servlet serves the JavaScript page that will do a POST to the Policy Agent. The Policy Agent should then do what it needs to do with the POST, and forward request to the Application. The Application then does what it needs to do, and in this case, serves a HTTP/1.1 302 for redirection back to the browser.
However, it seems that the Policy Agent might be returning a HTTP/1.1 200, and setting the iPlanetDirectoryPro cookie, quickly followed by the HTTP/1.1 302 and the setting of whatever cookies it wants to set.
The Policy Agent should be respecting the return code of the Application. This problem does not appear when run against the Policy Agent for the Sun ONE Web Server.

We have developed an application and the application id is 333.
we have developed a login screen(page No. 111).
After login Company page (Page No.1) will appear where the user selects the company name.
Once company is selected, the control goes to Menu Page(Page No.10). The menu will be displayed based on the user rights.
In shared Components - Authentication scheme,

The above condition is not working. ie. it is always loading Company Page(Page No.1) even if the user has access to one company alone.
Can anyone point out the place where I have done wrong. Or please suggest me a method to achieve the above said task.

its working fine, If I give the username and password which exist in the table login_table.
Now I need to redirect to 2 different pages.
if the username is 'guru' then when he clicked the login button he has to redirect to page 2,
if username is any other name except 'guru' they have to be redirected to page 3.
Can you please give the step by step procedure to follow?

Policy agent error code 21 after authenticating

Hi,
I get the following error in my amAgent logs after successfully authenticating to Sun Policy Manager 7.1:
PolicyEngine: am_policy_evaluate: InternalException in AuthService::submitRequirements() with error message:Error sending client submitted requirements to server. and code:21
A 500 Internal Server Error page is returned with the message: This server has encountered an internal error which prevents it from fulfilling your request. The most likely cause is a misconfiguration. Please ask the administrator to look for messages in the server's error log.
The Policy Manager auth access log shows: "Login Success" for the login attempt.
My configuration:
Solaris 10
Apache 2.0.54
Sun Java System Access Manager Policy Agent 2.2
Has anyone seen or experienced this error before?

A control character was being read from the password (even though both the encrypted and unencrypted password did not contain any control characters). A password reset resolved the issue.
