Control hints for AM Client interface

Hello,
I am exposing a method in Application module through user interface.
I want to configure the parameter labels as AM control hints.
Is it possible? where can I set them?
Thanks
Ponraj

Thanks Arunkumar, Its 11.1.1.5.
If that's not possible I have to use ViewController projects resource bundle.
I have business components such as VOs that I expose through UI. I am using control hints for the exposed fields. So I was trying to have client interface hints with in the Model project.

Ponraj

  • Possible BUG in 10.1.3 - JDev 'hangs' when creating Control Hints for EO

    I noticed that every time I want to add someting under Control Hints for myEO (and then click Apply ot OK) JDev basically hangs and I need to restart it by first killing the process.
    Afterwards, I have to go back to myEO and edit it again since the changes were not saved. Just before I open myEO I can see 'common' directory in the Application Navigator just under my 'businessobjects' package. However when I edit myEO and this time successfully click OK (or Apply) this directory is gone.
    I guess it has something to do with the creation of myEOImplMsgBundle.java file which for some reason hangs JDev.
    Anyone experienced similiar (same) issue?

    This has to do something with Java Code Generation Engine.
    I have just tried to create Row Impl file for my VO and gut 'hanged'.

    I did try making a VO that extends the original VO, but with the attribute based on the SDO_NN_DISTANCE function call, which means that a call to SDO_NN MUST be in the WHERE clause.
    This works to some extent, in that the common attributes and methods are in the second VO, inherited from the first, without me having to write them again. However, I have to use them in my ViewController project as two separate VOs. For one thing, I need two separate result pages, one for when the query used the SDO_NN in the where, and needed the distance in the output, and one without. One uses the original VO, and the other uses the new one. Similarly, I need two separate pages for adding additional criteria. Doing it this way with pairs of nearly identical pages is going to be a pain, and will be difficult to maintain, since any change will have to be done twice. Or can .jspx pages be written that extend other .jspx pages, and in particular override the VO bindings in the pageDef? Could a single .jspx page decide dynamically which pageDef to use?
    I decided to try a different tack. Back to a single VO, I wrote a WHERE clause that calls SDO_NN, but returns all of the rows. That way, I can have a call to SDO_NN_DISTANCE in the SELECT for all queries, and I was even able to add a parameter that sets the Distance attribute to NULL if it is irrelevant to the query the user constructs. This is a good work around, but it is a little slow, because SDO_NN is doing a lot of work but returning every row when it hasn't been replaced with an "actual" SDO_NN where clause.
    One more possibility: Can I have a method that replaces the entire SELECT command for this VO dynamically? I assume that you need to make sure that the expressions in the SELECTed data still map to the attributes one to one, with the same aliases. After all, I am already replacing the WHERE clause dynamically, and it works fine.

  • Visual editor for client interfaces

    According to the OA framework documentation OA Extension offers the following design time tools
    "Guided user interface (and visual editors in a future release) to lay out client user interfaces."
    Does anyone know if there is a visual editor for developing client interfaces for AO framework?

    Sure. I want to be able to visually assemble elements of the OA framework so I do not have to render the screen each time to see what the screen layout will look like. It is not obvious from the help file how each widget will render.

  • Control Hints, various languages????? 9.0.3

    Hi,
    how can i set the control hints for an attribute for various languages. in jdev 9.0.2 it was very easy but in jdev 9.0.3 pre??????
    Pleas help
    Thanks
    Achim

    Here's what I tried.
    Created a default JClient app over BC4J (Dept/Emp tables).
    Added control hints for Dept Entity attribute DName.
    Created a new class DeptImplMsgBundle_en_GB that extends DeptImplMsgBundle and lives in the same package (mypackage1.common)
    In the generated JClient example, I modified the "main()" method to perform Locale.setLocale(Locale.UK) in the first line in the main.
    And then when the JClient app is run it does pickup proper locale text for the control hints (from the UK msg bundle).
    Also I tried app.setLocale(Locale.UK) instead of Locale.setLocale() - where app is the JUApplication object returned from createApplicationObject method call in the main () and that worked too - The label/tooltip for Dname did show properly.
    To get data/connection setup in proper locale you may want to set the jbo.default.country and jbo.default.language properties in the application module configuration.

  • Non-void return type for Application Module Clients Interface

    Hello, can anyone guide me on how will I solve my problem.
    first of all, I'm using JDeveloper 10.1.3, I use JSF, ADF Faces, ADF Model, ADF Business Components.
    I made a web page that has a Transactional Capabilities, all is going smoothly, all data's can be saved to oracle database. I created a Custom Method in my Application Module and can be used in Clients Interface, that method is for saving data's to database.
    My problem is I dont know how to create a custom method that returns a value in my Application Module. Which means if I set it to non-void return type, it is not visible to Client Interface. If you're going to ask me why I need it to return a value? Well since that method is for saving data's, if there's an Error Occured, I can return the Error Message and show it to my user interface.
    Please help. thanks

    If you want to return your own type then simply define it as serializable and you will find that it will appear in the Client Interface dialog of your AM.
    eg, you could return this type from your application module to progagate a meaningful message to your UI:
    package com.delexian.model;
    import java.io.Serializable;
    public class MyMessage implements Serializable {
        private String _severity;
        private String _message;
        public MyMessage() {
        public void setSeverity(String severity) {
            this._severity = severity;
        public String getSeverity() {
            return _severity;
        public void setMessage(String message) {
            this._message = message;
        public String getMessage() {
            return _message;
    }regards,

  • Cisco Jabber for Windows Client SDK

    Is there an SDK for Cisco Jabber for Windows client? I could only find the Web SDK. Are there no other SDKs that would let me control features of the Jabber Windows Client?

    And in order to avoid TAPI limitation, they say they have started using Jabber which controls all phone functionalities through an Application User connected to the Call Manager.
    Assuming they are referring to the normal Jabber for Windows/Mac/iOS/Android applications then this is wrong. Jabber - the client, not the IM&P servers which are part of the CUCM cluster (if you're familiar with Lync consider CUCM+IM&P servers a Front End Pool) - do not use an Application User at all. When a user starts Jabber, assuming SAML SSO is off, they supply an email address. This is used to find the servers via DNS SRV records, or the Mobile and Remote Access Expressway (roughly analogous to a Lync Edge pool) to tunnel through the firewall. After the email address they are prompted for their End User username and password. This is then used to access several APIs on the server, namely the User Data Service to discover what the user has. This would include what the user has configured/available to them. After this is done the Jabber client does one of three things with respect to phone functionality:
    If the user has no phone devices provisioned for them - physical or software - it becomes an IM&P client only.
    If the user has a software phone phone provisioned, it registers as that using SIP. In this way Jabber is the actual phone. This is called a CSF device for Jabber Windows/OS X.
    If the user has a desk phone assigned to their End User account AND administrative policy is to default to desk phone control, it registers to CTI Manager on the CUCM server to control the user's physical phone.
    A user can toggle between option two and three, if appropriately provisioned, but cannot have both simultaneously. In other words, Jabber is either controlling a physical phone over CTI or is a phone itself using SIP. The difference is where the audio/video media is sent from/to.
    All of this happens using that human's End User credentials.
    Now, if you wanted to have a server control the user's phone - either a physical one or Jabber - you would use the TSP as an interface to CTI Manager on the CUCM server and receive real-time events (e.g. the user went off-hook, the phone is ringing with this caller ID, etc.) and issue commands to that phone (e.g. make a call to X). This is done using an Application User account because the server would need to do this for multiple users simultaneously. If you also use the Super Provider concept, the CUCM administrator doesn't have to take the extra step of associating every phone to your Application User manually. Instead, you can simply issue CTI subscriptions to see any/all device activity you want.
    This is all assuming you wanted to do the integration server-side to avoid having to update the Cisco TSP application on every user PC (which also limits your WPF application to machines capable of running the TSP) every time the CUCM administrator patches the servers. If you don't care about that, then you can do this all client-side on the user's PC, and have them supply their End User credentials.
    Of course, you could also reconsider the Jabber SDK and just embed the make/receive call functionality directly into your application instead.

  • Need a hint for home office / 871 does not support port-security - FPM ?

    Hi,
    i want to realize the following setup:
    - Central Site 871 with Internet Connection and static IP
    - Home office 871 with Internet Connection and static IP. On that home office router, there should be 2 Vlans: 1 for the office work and one for the user's private PC. All Traffic from the "office" Vlan is being put into a VPN to the central site. All Traffic on the other interface is being natted and goes straight to the internet.
    To minimize security issues, i tried to configure port-security, so that the user cannot connect with his private PC to the office LAN ports and vice versa. Unfortunately, port-security seems not to be supported on the 871 (advanced ip services image).
    Now i looked for an alternative...and came over to FPM (flexible packet matching).
    If i understood right, you can classify packets for example by their source MAC address and if this field matches a specific value (the mac of the work pc), packets can be dropped by a policy.
    Of course i cannot avoid that the user connects the work pc together with his private pc (this is then related to the OS Security to keep out viruses, worms, trojans, etc). But i could/want to restrict the internet access with the work pc through "normal" Internet access - the users should not be able to do that (must use the company's proxy).
    I did the follwing config:
    class-map type access-control match-any c2
    match start l2-start offset 48 size 6 regex "0xabcd1234fedc"
    match field ETHER source-mac regex "abcd1234fedc"
    policy-map type access-control p2
    class c2
    drop
    interface Vlan1
    ip address 192.168.20.1 255.255.255.0
    ip nat inside
    ip virtual-reassembly
    service-policy type access-control input p2
    service-policy type access-control output p2
    As this feature is quite new, i'm not familiar with it's syntax.
    I also tried to use "string" instead of regexp, but i'm still able to connect the office pc to the private Lan and i am able to access the "Internet" (currently it's only setup in a lab).
    As i understood so far, the offset is the value in bits, and size is in bytes. is that correct?
    Has anyone yet some experience with FPM or maybe any hint for me how to realize the requested setup with the 871 routers?
    bets regards,
    Andy

    For the FPM feature to work you will need PHDF files for the protocols you want to scan for to be loaded on your routers. The files can be downloaded from cisco's website. In your case you will have to download ether.phdf file.

  • Ignoring discovery request - AP on dynamic client interface

    Hi All,
    I have a questing regarding the AP Management Port on the 5508.
    At our customers side there are some FAT-APs and we want to migrate them to the controller.
    There is no DHCP Service active on the network (security-restriction by our customer) and the FAT-APs and Clients are configured with a static IP.
    There is no LAG active everything is on Port 1.
    Now after upgrading one AP to lightwight-mode,... he cannot discover his WLC (thats ok, because the Manament Interface is in a different subnet)
    So I configured a IP-Helper and the neccesary udp-Port to get the AP joined on the WLC.
    But on the Controller I get the following message:
    %CAPWAP-3-DISC_INTF_ERR2: Ignoring discovery request received on a
    wrong VLAN ([dec]) on interface ([int]) from AP
    [hex]:[hex]:[hex]:[hex]:[hex]:[hex]
    The wrong VLAN in the message is a dynamic Interface on the Controller for client and the AP is in that Subnet.
    It its created as an Dynamic Interface on the WLC (without "Enable Dynamic AP Management")
    I hope you can give me a hint. I'm not sure if I should enable "Dynamic AP Management" on that Client Interface.
    By the way, the AP can join when i configure the Controller IP via console on it. But that should not be the solution
    Thanks &
    Best regards,
    Simon

    Hi Nicolas,
    thanks for your reply.
    I know, that this design is not "best practice".
    Our customer has a LAN which has to be completly redesigned.
    They use very huge subnets for their different production segments (255.255.240.0) and everything is in there.
    The Autonomous AP Installation is in one of these huge network segments where the APs and the clients are in the same subnet..
    Thats the background why this szenario is created.
    I know that this design is absolutly unsatisfactory.
    But thats the fact and I have to deal with this.
    The helper is the WLCs Management Adress.
    So what about the "ignoring discovery request" message.
    Is there some possibility to get it work this way or is the only way to upgrade the APs via Console to get them to the controller.
    I know the best way would be to get the APs in a new different subnet,...
    regards,
    Simon

  • Accessing AM Client Interface from Web Application

    Hi,
    I am trying to access some client interface methods that I developed on my application module from a backing bean on my web application and have trouble doing so.
    Some background on the problem,
    Basically when logging into our application from the front-end, we have to authenticate the user against some custom security code. Part of this code is to validate the user against the Oracle database (i.e. valid oracle db user, and password is valid password to log onto Oracle database). To do this, I developed Client Interface methods on an Application Module. When using the BC Tester in jdev 11g (the latest release), these methods work 100% and validation occurs. On our logon page, I bound these methods to the page definition file. When I then try in the backing bean to call this method, using the code from the ADF 11g Dev guide as below, the DataControl on the action is null at point 3. It does seem to find the action find. I have also tried to actually use the "setParams" method on the action, and then tried the execute(), invoke() + getResult(), and doIt() + getResult() methods, of which none seems to work. All these go past the execute/invoke/do part, but the return value on the execute, as well as the return value from the getResult calls are null.
    public String commandButton_action() {
    // Example using an action binding to get the data control
    public String commandButton_action() {
    // 1. Access the binding container
    DCBindingContainer bc = (DCBindingContainer)getBindings();
    // 2. Find a named action binding
    JUCtrlActionBinding action = (JUCtrlActionBinding)bc.findCtrlBinding("SomeActionBinding");
    // 3. Get the data control from the iterator binding (or method binding)
    DCDataControl dc = action.getDataControl();
    // 4. Access the data control's application module data provider
    ApplicationModule am = (ApplicationModule)dc.getDataProvider();
    // 5. Cast the AM to call methods on the custom client interface
    StoreServiceAM service = (StoreServiceAM)am;
    // 6. Call a method on the client interface
    service.doSomethingInteresting();
    return "SomeNavigationRule";
    Can somebody perhaps tell me what I am doing wrong, or of a better approach to resolve this problem. If any more info is needed, please let me know.
    I did think about binding the action directly to the logon button on the jsf page, but unfortunately there is additional logic/code that is currently in the backing bean that I do not want to move down into the business components, and some code like the lines below that can not be moved.
    HttpSession session = (HttpSession)externalContext.getSession(true);
    session.setAttribute(SecurityFilter.SESSION_ATTR_USER, securityDto.getUsername());
    session.setAttribute(SecurityFilter.SESSION_ATTR_SECRET, securityDto.getPassword());
    session.setAttribute(SecurityFilter.SESSION_ATTR_ROLES, securityDto.getRoles());
    return "logonSuccess";
    Will really appreciate any help.
    Tx
    Drikus

    Hi,
    I managed to find some sort of work around.
    I actually dragged and dropped the Client Interface for the custom method from the datacontrol onto my jsf page and created an additional button. I then ran the application and everything worked. Afterwards I went back to my jsf page and removed the newly added button again and removed the newly added methods from my page definition file as well. When I run the application now, the exact same code that I used previously, now seems to work. I changed it to use the findDataControl method as Frank suggested, and that also works now.
    What i can not figure out though, is what exactly the the dropping of that dataControl method and removing it again changed on my application to make it work now. Can somebody please try this and see if they can find the answer. I have done a small little sample application where I can replicate the problem exactly which I can provide the steps to if needed.
    Drikus.

  • Enabling Spotlight search for server clients?

    I have a mac mini server running OSX Mavericks, and 6 client mac also running Mavericks.
    The server provides access to the main storage raid for our design dept, and all the designers need to be able to search for files on this server, but Spotlight never seems to work when trying to search the server.
    No of us are It types, so the few possible solutions i have found seem to be aimed at advanced unix programmers, and as a result assume that a single line of code is enough of a hint for us to sort out the problem!
    Pleae can someone explain how i can set up the server to index the raid, and allow the users to perform searches?
    thanks
    adam

    It used to be that you could manually enable and disable spotlight indexing for network shares on a  Mac server. With Server.app and therefore your Macvericks server this is automatically enabled. The process would be along the following lines.
    You have a drive which has permissions enabled, external drives may default to having this turned off you can if needed enable it by doing a 'Get Info' on the external drive, and at the bottom will be an option 'Ignore ownership on this volume' this needs to be turned off i.e. unticked.
    You then tell Server.app to 'share' the volume or a folder within the volume.
    Server.app will automatically enable both AFP and SMB sharing for this new share, you can modify this if you wish.
    Server.app will also automatically add an ACL (Access Control List) record containing the special server account 'Spotlight' so it can access every single file and folder within the share, this lets the server spotlight indexing software be able to access and therefore index all those files.
    Client Macs can then search the share, it should only return results of files that that user has permission to access.
    There is nothing really to configure. I have seen problems where the server will periodically decide to re-index the share again and while it is doing this searching does not work because the server is busy rebuilding the index. You can tell if this is happening by clicking on the Spotlight menu on the server, if it says it is re-indexing then this is what is happening.

  • Error in JClient with Control Hints (BC4J)

    Hello,
    In a project JClient based in BC4J (JDeveloper 9.0.3.1035 with JDK 1.4.2), the visual interface does not answer to changes in the level of BC4J (Control Hints).
    For example, if we establish the property DISPLAY_HINT=Hide for a column, it remains visible, or if we establish the property FORMAT TYPE = Simple Date and FORMAT = yyyy-MM-dd G 'at' hh:mm:ss, the information relative to hh:mm:ss is equal to 12:00:00. There exists another way of personalizing these properties? To level of code, perhaps.
    Thanks.

    To actually hide any attribute/column, you can simply delete either the reference to the attribute from the binding if you're using a JTable or delete the label and textfield for the attribute you wish to hide.
    Using the control hints won't work in this case.
    About the formatting, I don't know much about that. Sorry.

    Please help us.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ramakrushna Parupalli

    Hi Ramakrushna,
    For the situation, you can connect to the database of Release Management, and check whether you can execute stored procedure ReleaseV2_List manually.
    You can also try to clean some of releases records if possible to check if the timeout issue can be resolved. Or you can set the timeout configuration of Release Management to a larger value. Refer to this
    thread for more information.
    Another option is check event logs to see if there any useful informaiton, and repair Release Management on your server machine if possible. If the problem still exist after taking the methods I mentioned above, please elaborate more details about your scenario.

  • Tuning hints for this scenario?

    Every year, one customer has an opening for ticket sales on
    our machine. the machine is Dual Xeon 3 GHz with 2 GB RAM. It runs
    Win2k3, Apache 2.0.59, CF 7.02 Standard and Sybase ASA9 and a
    Mailserver, and of course our cf application which is the ordering
    and reservation system. Our internet provider gives us almost 10
    Mbps.
    As said, at some november's midnight, our customer opens his
    sale which draws a huge interest from the public. i.e. hundreds of
    even thousands of clients wait for that midnight to enter the
    reservation.
    and in any of those nights, our system seems to be very slow
    if not even behaving like a DOSed system. However, I can use remote
    control to see windows task maanger and I don't see an exhausting
    cpu load.
    Therefore my questions to the cracks: What could/should I
    change in the Request Tuning Section in CFAdmin?
    What about "Maximum number of simultaneous Template requests"
    ... currently I have 20. Default were 8. Does anyone have
    experiences regarding this value's range?
    Any other hints for our scenario are greatly welcome ...
    Thank you
    Martin

    Thanks for your reply. Iam sorry, if my earlier question was not clear.
    We are using parallel hints extensively. My question was
    Does Oracle has any in-built methodology or technique like any specific hits for this case scenario.
    Case1:
    select * from A,B
    where A.c1=B.c1
    Assuming A is driving table and B is lookup table, The size of B is very huge.
    Case2:
    select * from A,B
    where A.c1=B.c1
    Assuming A is driving table and B is lookup table, The size of B is very small.
    The ETL tools like IBM Datastage have specific stages to deal with the above scenarios.
    Anyways thank you.

  • Looking for a client appointment app

    I'm looking for an application for a friend who is a personal trainer. And if such an application doesn't exist, I'm considering writing one (I'm a software engineer)
    The application would maintain a database of clients, and a schedule of appointments with them.
    For each client, the following data needs to be maintained: contact information, current statistics (weight, body fat percentage, strength) as well as a history of statistics. Clients pay for a package of sessions in advance, and the app would keep track of how many prepaid sessions remain, updating that number with each scheduled appointment and each payment. Every client has recurring appointments, several per week, but rescheduling is common, and needs to be easy. And the app should be able to print out a year report for taxes.
    I was thinking that it should interface with Address Book for contact information, and Calendar for appointments.
    The main app should run on Snow Leopard, but mobile access through an iOS 4 sister app would be great. (Although if it works with Address Book and Calendar, their synchronization through MobileMe might be sufficient)
    Is there any such thing? There must be other trainers, and other professionals with similar needs.
    -Ron.

    Hi Ron,
    was there a template for bento that met all of the requirements that you detailed?  My wife is a personal trainer and we've been looking for similar functionality in an app.  Currently she's using the calendar app and contact book, but as you say, rescheduling is frequent and tracking remaining sessions would be very helpful.  Let me know,
    Paul
