Controlling a DOS application (or another Windows app) with a LabVIEW application running on the same computer

Does anyone know how if it is possible to control a DOS application (or another Windows app) with a LabVIEW application running on the same computer.
I need to send text to fields on the other (non-LabVIEW) application and possibly menu commands.
If someone knows this is impossible, I'll take that answer too.

It's certainly possible but how you do it depends a lot on the applications you want to control and whether you need to get data back from the other apps. Many Windows apps can be controlled via ActiveX. Many DOS programs can be set up by providing command line parameters and using the System Exec function in LabVIEW. Suppose that several VIs running simultaneously on the same computer. How can I find out the names of the running VIs, from another VI?
If the already running VIs are clones of the same basic VI, open and run with the option "Prepare to call and forget", how can I find out the names and index of each clone?

I had an application where I spawned (= ran with Start Asynchronous Call) multiple (reentrant) copies of VIs, and would occasionally "lose control" of them. I needed a way to find all VIs that were running "Top Level" and stop them (so I didn't have to log off from Windows).
I used the Application Property "All VIs in Memory" to get an array of (wait for it ...) All VIs in Memory. I took each name, opened a VI reference to it (simply wire the name string in, as the VI is, by definition, "in memory"), looked at its VI Execution State, and if it was Run Top Level, Invoked the FP.Close and Abort VI Methods. [To prevent the VI that did all this from "committing Suicide", I compared the name string with the current Call Chain, and did nothing if there was a match].
I think you could adopt this idea to do what you need.

I use an outdated Mac OS X version 10.5.8 and since it is outdated, my web browsers like Safari and Google Chrome will no longer use Java or any other software that allows you to go on sites like youtube or any other sites (which is mostly everything) that use Java/Javascript. Anyway, i made another account on the SAME computer and Safari seems to be working fine on that computer account. My question is if I can transfer my WHOLE ENTIRE ITunes Library to my other computer account so I can use my ITunes on that account comfortably, like transfer music and what not. PLEASE ANSWER!!!!!!!!!!!! i have been dealing with this for years and have never seen anyone else with my same problem

How can I move my DRM-protected movies from one disk to another on the same computer without running afoul of the big movie houses?

I need to off-load my digital copies to another disk I just bought, located on the same computer, so I can have more room for other things; my collection is getting too big, I guess. I'm afraid if I just move them and re-integrate them back into the iTunes library, it will mess up the DRM status and lock me out entirely. I'm hoping it won't treat this exercise as one of my allocated copies and increment the counter counting device transfers. Any ideas as to how to safely do this (without hacking, etc.)?

Alternatively, create another user account in your computer. Install iTunes in that account with the library you wish to sync.

Cannot sync my iphone with itunes as it says it is already synced with another itunes library on the same computer.

How do I move imove content from one user to another on the same computer?

We bought our Macbook pro about six months ago. We made the mistake of creating two users for it (my husband and myslef) but bow we only log in under my user name. The problem is we originally imported all of our video camera content to his "log in" and now it is in his imovie folder, and not mine. I want to make a movie on my log in with the fottage that we imported to his. So, how do I get video content from one users login on the SAME computer to the other log in users? I cannot seem to move it for the life of me. I did not expect this to be so difficult.

You need to log into his account and look, under the Movies folder, for iMovie Events. Inside, you'll find folders with the events names and still further will be the movie itself. Copy each to an external media or use the Shared folder so both accounts can reference them.
Another option would be to attach an external HD and via iMovie (Events Library pane) move them to the new disk. You would preserve the thumbnails and analysis already performed on the videos.

Locate them in the Windows Explorer, move or copy those files as you would any other, and drag them into the open iTunes window when the second library is loaded. In case you didn't fully understand what dallon meant, it means another user account on your computer. You set that up in Windows and then instal iTunes onto that account.
That way, you each have your own desktop and your own itunes. You can link to the songs in the other person's library as well, but you cannot run both iTunes at the same time. (That simply means you need to close it on the first account before opening it on the second account.)
