Controlling hardware automatically via modbus control

Hey guys, Im in a bit of a bind. Im looking to switch in my power supply via modbus control. I am using an ADAM-4068, so for instance if i switch the first relay the dc power supply will be on with a voltage level of say 230V, il the second relay switches i want to switch off the dc power and switch in ac power. The ADAM-4068 has 8 relays where i want each relay to control a piece of hardware. The voltage level is controlled by parameters in the database. I am using the modbus vi library serial master query write multiple coils, But my question is(i am quite new to labview) how can i automatically control the modbus to switch the particular coils to switch in the power supplies. I am lso looking to use the ADAM for communication to a PLC.
Please any advice helpful.

I would start with Chapter 4 in the manual and use NI-MAX to see if you can send commands/receive responses from there succsessfully. Learn also how to do basic serial port communications in LabVIEW. Lots of good stuff in this forum as well as in the LabVIEW examples. Then you should be good to go.

Hi there,
You're running an old version of Safari. Before troubleshooting, try updating it to the latest version: 6.0. You can do this by clicking the Apple logo in the top left, then clicking Software update.
You can also update to the latest version of OS X, 10.8 Mountain Lion, from the Mac App Store for $19.99, which will automatically install Safari 6 as well, but this isn't essential, only reccomended.

I don't know if you're still having this issue but there is a way round it as I'm having the same troubles.
I've just spoken to Apple about it and found out:
– If you have a Mac made before Mid-2011, it doesn't have a piece of hardware needed to take advantage of the 'Airplay mirroring'
– So you can update to a later version 10.6.8+ but this won't help at all
The way round it:
– Download 'Airfoil' and install this
– You can then play music from any defined source (Spotify, Quicktime etc) through your Airplay connected speakers
So sadly, for those have a Mac from before Mid-2011 there's isn't an option that's as easy as Option-click on the sound icon to switch to Airplay speakers.
Hope that helps, I can now get on with the rest of my day now after sorting this out.

Define Control for Automatic Creation of Pick HUs

We are using full blown HU management and in the customizing for the Control for Automatic Creation of Pick HU's you define the packaging materials to use. The help in from of this customizing says that if this is blank the system attempts to find a common packaging material for all materials in the transfer order.
My issue is that when I leave this blank the packaging material that the system proposes is not the packaging material that is contained on the source HU nor is it the packaging material that is contained in the Packing Instructions.
How does the system determine the packaging material on the destination HU? Am I required to maintain a value in this customizing?

please help me completely and give the correct versions of java technology which can i used for above purpose and with examples
specially read from the port and then write after check the status of bits.

Java programs run within a virtual machine (JVM). They have very little concept of the computer on which they are running; they only see the VM and what information it provides.
The JVM does not provide any information about the lower-level hardware, such as parallel and serial ports. On most modern operating systems, you'd have to jump through a few hoops even to get the native programs to do this job.
The only option I see for you to do this in Java is to find a JNI library that allows you to do this for your target OS(es).

I recently downloade Firefox v6.0 but had to remove it via the Control Panel Add/Remove Program. When I tried to re-install it I keep getting an error messsage that said that I had to reboot to fully remove the previous copy of v6.0.

reauthentication stuff?The reauthentication was just another annoyance. I was getting fed up with answering posts for a variety of reasons (mostly because I don't have the patience you seem to have).
I got assigned to modify some old ColdFusion code. I thought it would be a nice change of pace having never done it before. Yick... Gak... I should have started over with JSP's, but the user insisted they wanted the old code modified. I have never seen so much cut and paste coding in my life. They actually got hold of the old developer and he was so proud of his code that I didn't have the heart to tell him what I thought of his efforts.
Anyway, a couple of weeks ago, I ran into a problem with an applet I wrote about a year ago and wanted to search the bug database. I reauthenticated fairly easily, but found out nothing had changed.
A couple of days ago, there was a post in advanced topics asking if the forums were any use. I saw Dana respond and I thought it might be a chance to discuss some of the problems I saw with the forum. I came back to see if there was any response, but it looks like there will never be any meaningful discussion between Sun & the members about the forums.
I have tried for a couple of years to just post a link to a search page if the answer could be easily found by searching. It seemed like a better thing to do than just saying 'Do a search!' I'm not sure anybody gets it though.

Dear Deepa,
Try with this option,
Check the copying riutines
Go to transaction VTFL then select your document types then go in to the details of the copy control settings at header level and itemlevel here check the copying routines and logic in volved in those routines.
As per standard these are copying routines should be
At header level.
003-Header/dlv.-related
At itemlevel
004 - Deliv-related item
007 - Inv.Split (Rec/Div)

Print via Output Control(XNAPR) field in MIGO to be checked through BAPI

Hi Sir,
I am creating goods movement using BAPI 'BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE'. I am able to fill all field exect the check bos for Print via Output Control(XNAPR) field in MIGO Header screen. I am unable to find out any field corresponding to this in the BAPI structure so that I can put 'X' in that.
Please help me and I have to do this only using this BAPI.

Hi,
I figured this one out, it's faily simple.
Within the BAPI the table USR05 is checked for Parameter ID NDR(Print via output control in MM - Inventory management) it's the parameter ID linked to the field XNAPR.
To make it work just update the table USR05 with the required setting and then execute the BAPI.
Once the procecssing is done reset the value in the table to the default.
Geting and setting the parameter ID doesn't work.
This the code I have:
Store current value in temp variable
      SELECT SINGLE * FROM usr05 WHERE bname = sy-uname
                                 AND   parid = 'NDR'.
      old_prflag = usr05-parva.
Set the new value
      usr05-parva = rm07m-xnapr.
      UPDATE usr05 SET parva = usr05-parva
                WHERE bname = sy-uname
                  AND parid = 'NDR'.
Execute the BAPI
      CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE'

Confirmation control key automatically defaulted not from supplier, nor PIR, nor user exit

Hi gurus
I have the confirmation control key automatically defaulting in the PO but it is not coming from the vendor master data, nor PIR nor from user exit.
Do you know from where it can be defaulted? I have noticed that if change the company code then it defaults but if change to another want then the field is blank, so it seems that there is something configured at company code level, but not sure what it could be

Then you need to analyze thoroughly all the PIR'S and vendor master which are linked to scheduling agreement or contract where you are maintaining the control key.
And also any new functionality added in your PO functionality debug and check the same with ABAPER it will be easy way you can now from where exactly the confirmation control key is populating in PO.

Control a VFD via cDAQ 9178

Hi!
I want to control a Variable frequency driver through the cDAQ-9178.
I got an analog input module NI 9201,analog output module NI 9263 and digital output module NI 9472.
I have never connected analog modules and digital modules together and was wondering if anyone could help me. How do you connect a my VFD to these inputs and outputs?
I have attached the connection diagram for my VFD
I would like to add a knob to control the frequency via labview so i can increase/decrease the speed and also turn it ON/Off.
I know this is possible solution, but I don't really know how to wire it up to my VFD.
If I succeed with the wiring to my modules, could I then use DAQ- assistant in labview to wire a knob to it to change the speed for an example, or is there another way to do it?

Could you take a look at my wiring, (se attached picture). I just want to make sure I'm doing this correctly before I'm plugging in and starts messing around with LabView.
I don't know where to put T3 +10v reference output.
Should I connect B3 instead of B2 Vsup, (Voltage supply). I don't know what "NC" stands for or what it does on the modules NI 9263 and NI 9201
As far as I have understood, I can control the frequency from the VFD by making a DAQ assistant function via the analog outputs AO0 and AO1.
What does B1 do? It is Analog output (motor speed), if wired to AI0 can i monitor the speed then, like in a graph?
Can I connect as i have done with T1 (0volt, ground) to the COM ports, from the same ground? (In reality just put a lot of cables in T1 and the connect to all of the corresponding COM ports?
With the analog output I control the motors frequecny, the speed. With Analog input I can get the motor speed information. With the digital output I can control the motor direction, start stop, enable the VFD and so on. This i have got right I think.
Since I have never done this before I just want to be sure I'm doing this right, or if I have to change something.

It should be possible to do. You can definitely control PXI devices using NI-VISA and since PyVISA is just a Python wrapper, it should be possible. It also depends on the version of VISA that PyVISA is using. I would recommend looking at the NI-VISA User Manual for more info PXI specific functions.

Remote control iPhone 4 via Windows Laptop/Desktop

Hello,
I was wodnering if there was a way to remotely control my iPhone via my Windows Laptop? My speaker system is across the room which is hooked up to my iPhone, so everytime I want to change to a specific song or skip a song, I would have to get up and manually change it.
I have seen apps in the store that allow you use the iPhone control another apple device, or use your iPhone as the remote. However in this case, I want to use my computer as the remote.
Anyone have any ideas or tips? Thanks in advance.

Gave it a look, tried all the troubleshooting. My IP addresses are the same, so now I really don't understand. I'm just super confused. If it hadn't ever worked, I would just write it off as my university network being too strict... but now that it has worked once and really... nothing changed... I am just very confused.

Control Jennic microprocessor via VISA

Hi guys,
I need your help.
I have a device who is consist of the probe and the dongle (USB device). Dongle has got a Jennic wireless microprocessor with a firmware. This devices communicate together through the python script, but I would like to create a new program and control this devices via LabVIEW - VISA. When I put dongle into the USB port I can see ASRL5::INSTR "COM5". How can I send some command to the Jennic via Labview - VISA? I have tried to send *IDN?\r\n, but nothing happened.
Mybe it would be quite problem because I did not program the python script.

To repeat - check with jennic. The vendor should have documentation available on how to communicate without using a python script. What sort of manual do you have? Can you attach it? You're not going to get much help if you don't provide more information. You haven't even provided the python script to see if someone can translate that.
