Controlling Installation Preferences through configuration

Is there any way to control Installation Preferences
checkboxes through app.xml file or in some other way? There is a
configuration for <installFolder> but couldn't find anything
to uncheck "Start application after installation" by default. Our
app is installed as part of the native component installation and
we would like to avoid starting air app in the middle of the native
component installation.
Thanks

No, there's no way for an application to turn this option
off.

  • 10g Grid Control Installation/configuration on RAC

    Hi Experts,
I am new to RAC and I need your help.
I need to configure 2 node RAC and install/configure Oracle 10g Grid control (High Availability) on HP-UX Itanium servers. Is there any good document or link?
    Thank You all in advance
    Bell

    Hi Bell,
Here is the link for the 10gR5 Grid Control Installation Guide: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B16240_01/doc/install.102/e10953/toc.htm
Considering the GC repository is a RAC database you will be performing the "+Using an Existing Database+" installation type.
I would highlight the below part of the documentation:
To view a list of certified Oracle Database, see Document ID 412431.1 on My Oracle Support (formerly Metalink).
If you want to use a RAC database, which is configured on a virtual host, as the existing database, then refer to Document ID 561441.1 on My Oracle Support (formerly Metalink).
    HTH,

Are you doing the Grid Control installation into a new Oracle Home? I would try a fresh installation...Typically, the installation itself is fairly straightforward..

  • 2008R2 IE 11 Group Policy Preference Proxy Configuration Issues

I've been mulling this problem over for a while and I finally have to accept I can't use IE Maintenance anymore for managing proxy settings.  I've been reading up on how to make Server 2008 R2 work with GPP settings for IE 9 - 11.  Everything I've
read says I need to install the .admx files (link below) or install IE 10+ to get the IE Preferences to show up for 9, 10, and 11.  But when I look at my .admx files in %systemroot%/PolicyDefinitions it has the same exact .admx file that I download
from the Admin Templates.  I can not see the policy preferences for IE 9, 10, or 11 and need these options so I can configure a Proxy server.  How do I go about getting these preferences to become available in Server 2008 R2 SP 1?
    #admx link
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36991
Note that I also tried the following to manually add support while testing but it didn't help me:
Open up the policy, and create an IE8 Preference: User Configuration --> Preferences --> Control Panel Settings --> Internet Settings --> New --> Internet Explorer 8 -> Set your proxy settings
Navigate to C:\Windows\SYSVOL\domain\Policies was an easier route, then sort by date for the recently created IE entry.
    Navigate to User\Preferences\InternetSettings
Open up the "InternetSettings.xml file, and change the MAX value to something above 10.0.0.0 (I usually put 10.5.0.0). This way, the policy won't trip up later on if IE 11 comes out and doesn't support any of these policies, but at least you'll be safe
until 10.5.0, or until a hotfix is available. "
    max="10.5.0.0"

    > - Win 7 clients mysteriously show a configuration for IE 5 when I turned
    > on the IE 10 GPP.
Although seemingly surprising, that's ok - Win7 GPP doesn't know that
IE10 GPP exists at all, so it defaults to whatever the programmer made
    the default.
    > It only displays a few items under it as being
    > activated despite none of them being configured on the server side.
That I cannot confirm - here it displays exactly what is configured.
    > - The home page option will not set on any version of windows.
Cannot confirm, too - that is what I tried with the IE10 GPP for Win7,
and it works. You know about the red/green lines and the F5...F8 thing?
    > - From Win 8.1 RSAT GPO tools if you click ok on certain fields you'll

     > - None of the advanced options for the proxy entries would take on  the
     > clients.  Adding whitelist entries in the advanced option would blank
     > out fields on other screens in the GPP.
That's a known bug in the proxy settings screen.
    > My best explanation for this is that even though the 8.1 client has the

    > correctly.
Definitely - sorry - wrong. The Server (DC) doesn't know about the
contents of GPP, these are simple XML files the GP Editor writes to sysvol.
In fact, most CSEs store their settings in files on sysvol, and the DC
doesn't care about the contents of these. SOME of them (Wifi, eg) on the
other hand require AD objects, and this objects sometimes require a
specific schema version. But even in this case, the DC OS doesn't matter
    - schema updates can be installed on downlevel OS versions, too.

I want to make a slideshow to view on my television with image's duration ranging from seconds to an hour or more and I want to use my iPhone or iPad mini to control the television through my Apple tv.
I've been unable to locate an app that will do this.  The Photos app that comes with the phone or iPad has extremely limited duration controls.  PhotoStream seems to load everything from my phone or iPad not allowing me to just load up a set group of images.
iPhoto for iPad is getting some terrible recent reviews.  I tried a couple other free apps but they don't use Airplay.
I can do something like this with iPhoto and my MB Air, but it's kind of ugly to have the computer open in order to connect by Airplay to my Apple TV.  I've thought the iPad or iPhone would be a lower profile controller.
    Am I out of luck?

Thanks for your help.  Since I'm uninterested in loading all my photos (the only option) into photostream, I won't be able to use the settings in ATV.  I guess I'm just stuck with using iPhoto on my MB Air.  Thanks again.

Ok. I double checked - you´re right. The new CD/DVD set with Solman 7.0 doesn´t support 32bit any more. I HIGHLY suggest to install SolMan on 64bit, you may not be able to use all functionality.
    Now back to your problem:
Can you open the file? Is it there? There seems to be a permission problem...

  • Hi, what's the impact of creating sites through configuration in Sap retail System?

    Hi Experts,
Business requirement is to have a production plant created through config in retail system and then ship the finished product to DC using STO's and Dc will be created as master data in retail system. please share your experience on business impact on this integartion of production plant and site in Retail?
    Thanks in Advance !

    Hi Govind,
In SAP Retail system, the options for creating plant from configuration is disabled. Means in SPRO screen, the execute button is not there for these options. So you will not be able to create plant through configuration in SAP Retail system where the retail switch is activated.
All the Retail related features will not support that plants.
To the best of my knowledge, Site created in Retail system using WB01 transactions can be used for production cycle to implement manufacturing scenario. Using article to article stock transfer you can transfer the stock of Finished Goods articles to trading articles and so on.
Various processes are available for this.
Let me know if you need any more information.
    Regards,
    Amit

I am looking to control a 4-way hydraulic solenoid valve. Do I need a PID control toolset, or can i control the system through my 16E4 daq card and scxi chasis

    I think you're asking 2 different questions.
The PID control toolset is for using PID loops for control; it's just software.
The DAQ card and scxi chassis are hardware. If you have the appropriate signal conditioning cards in your chassis to control/monitor your solenoid valve, then you can run a PID loop.
I believe the simple answer is: the PID control toolset is the best way to do control, but there are simple PID VI's (even on this website) that you can download and use for simple control.

Try writing a rule. Sample below.

  • Solaris 10 zones - Resource Controls not persisting through reboot

Local zone was rebooted, but somehow the resource controls are not well configured and the oracle database did not start up.
The cat /etc/project shows this : The local zone has 10 gb. The oracle database was started manually with the startdb.sh, which conn /assysdba and issue a startup, adn also startups the listener.
    cat /etc/project
    system:0::::project.max-shm-memory=(privileged,8589934000,deny)

Nikolay, thank you for your reply.
What I know is that the zone was rebooted saturday. sunady at 1:00 am the oracle database (I'am a Dba not sysadmin), perform coldbackup (veritas.) then Veritas call a unix script to starts the database.
I run the script to starts the database manually sunday. Veritas could not open the database because of the Out of Memory.
The box has 10 gb , the oracle user, the rot and system are configured to use 8 gb, the rest are configured to use less.
    I'am oracle user.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply please.
Through the BAPI which you have specified i have not been able to add any new operand in the installation facts.
Please guide me with the parameters which are required to be passed to create a new operand entry in the installation facts.
    Please guide.
    Thanks and Regards
