Controls required in Chexk Print (FCH5)

Hi All,
I have created manual check in TCode FCH5. There i want following controls:
1. I created check for document number 150000232. There i was able to change the amount manually. I want the amount field to be greyed out.
2. In FCH5, i have to manually feed the house bank and bank account id. Since we give manually, it may so happen that vendor payment is done through one bank (say ICICI BAnk) & in FCH5, I give another bank (say ABN Amro bank).
So tell me how to set the controls for above two points.

While making the manual payment or automatic payment you need to give the house bank and bank id which is mandatory,
once you create it then you can not change the bank information, it is also the access of change bank information and display bank information, so enduser should not have the change bank information t-code.
it is all the autorizations.

Using 'REUSE_ALV_COMMENTARY_WRITE' , i have tried to display some text at end of page event, but ot is only displaying upto 60 characters, because SLIS is suporting oly 60 characters.
But my requirement is to print the line of text , i am getting the text through container.
suggest me the way to do.

There are a few possible ways ... here's one....
First of all, you cannot load more than 60 characters into a field at a time. So, if you create two info objects, one as a key and the other as text, you can load multiple lines.
For example, in Quality Notifications, there are Memo fields that can go on ... and on ... and on. What I do in these cases is add two characteristics to my data target called ZCOUNT and ZMEMO. ZCOUNT is the number of 60 character segments I will need to grab and ZMEMO is filled with each 60 character length of the memo field.
If you receive a 300 character field, then you break it up into 5 ZCOUNT's and create 4 additional, identical records with the Memo Field changed for each 60 characters of length.
It gets a bit trickier if you have multiple 60+ character lengths, however, if you know you will always have 75 characters, then it's easier to use two info objects ... 60 + 15 characters each.

No, Job control is required only for delta records
Why?
When you do full update/Initilization of delta, the system directly goes to the setup tables (note that setup tables are filled from applications tables using statistical setup) and gets the data to the data targets. Normally, you go with this option to get all the historical data which is present in the applications tables.
So, when you peformed init, all the historical data till today are moved to the BW system. Now, how are your delta records( records which are created/modified after your init) moved?
It depends on the update option you have selected in the LO cockpit
if you go with Direct Delta : All the delta records are posted directly to the Delta Queue(RSA7). In this case, Job control is not required.
2. If you go with Queue Delta : All the delta records are first posted to Extraction Queue (LBWQ) and from here records are moved to RSA& using Job Control.
3. If you go with Unserialized V3 update : All the delta records are first posted to Update tables (SM13) from there records are moved to RSA7 using again Job control.
So, all the delta records must be moved to RSA7 from where the bw system picks it delta records.

New copy control requirement for deliveries

I am trying to create new copy control requirement for deliveries in VOFM tcode. when i enter 901 and enter it is asking for access key. is it that we nned to et access for creating custom requirements also or am i doing somehting wrong.?

The number space between 500 and 999 is customer space for defining the routines. since you want to define a custom rotuine
you need to get the access key from sap for that.
the access key will be generated for the 901 routine that you want to develop

Sending printer control characters to a printer

I would like to send printer control characters to a printer/plotter. Does anyone have any information or thoughts on how this could be accomplished? For example, I would like to send the printer reset sequence ([esc] E). Is this possible?

Here is like i did it:

After i�ve filled the buf i put it into a File and sent it to the printer.
This worked fine for me !!

Control screen density when printing?

Let me outline the circumstances briefly first:
I am working with InDeisgn and sending files to a EFI Fiery Server that is hooked up to a Xerox C75 digital printer. I am printing plates for an offset press from that printer, and these plates require screens that are loose enough that the offset press can reproduce them. What's happening is that the screens (no matter my output settings in InDesign) are coming out very dense, or closely packed from the printer. Normally that would be good for looks, but in this case I need them to be less dense.
I've talked to Xerox support who says that my InDesign settings are probably being overridden by the EFI print driver in control of the Xerox. I will admit at this point that I am no expert in this field, and I don't know a lot about print drivers etc. Xerox seems to think that there is a setting somewhere in InDesign that can be changed so that InDesign, not the EFI driver, will have control over the colors, and therefore the screen density.
What I would like to happen is for me to be able to go to the output section of the print dialogue, select separations, go to my black ink and specify a value of say, 85lpi for the frequency (see screenshot below). My problem is that this has no effect on how the printed sheet comes out, no matter if I set it to 1lpi or 1000lpi.
How do I gain control of my screen density?

Thanks for your response Spier. The problem seems to be that nobody has the complete picture; Xerox support doesn't really know that much about command workstation (even though they're responsible for giving it to you), and this doesn't seem to be an InDesign issue. I ended up talking to a guy at EFI and he told me that to control halftone density specifically, you need the Command workstation Graphic Arts Package (sold through Xerox apparently). With that add-on to Command Workstation you can do what they call "halftone simulation," which allows you to specify screen densities for a job. The package retails for about $7000 on the EFI website, but we'll see what the Xerox rep says. Just thought i'd leave my breadcrumbs here for anyone else who might run into the same issue and comes to the Adobe forum.

HP Printer Control App won't print to Photosmart D110

The HP Printer Control App (Android) see's my Photosmart D110 and successfully aquires the name, IP address, ink levels and other information but just below the listing for the printer itself is indcated, "unavailable". I have just printed wirelessly to the D110 from a laptop. Is there something I must do to make the printer "Available" through "HP Printer Control" from my Galaxy Note 10.1?

I own a Samsung phone myself, and generally any of the print functions you see in office apps and web browsers are actually added in by samsung with their own software. This is why it is telling you only samsung printers can be used. If you save files in Polaris you can open them within the HP Eprint Home and Biz app and print them.
If you are saving the files as a PDF it will work fine locally without actually using the eprint service, however if they are MS Office type documents like .doc, .xml etc, you will have to set up eprint on the printer and activate the app. The reason for this is that Office documents are rendered on the cloud servers in order to print. The advantage of setting all of this up is that you can print files even when you aren't at home.

Hp officejet pro k550 will not print a test page using control keys on the printer.

How do I print a test page to ensure that this printer is still operational?
I have tried all instructions for clearing the printer of possible jams, removed and reinserted the print heads, and cleaned the rollers. When pressing the appropriate keys on the front of the printer, it will not print a test page. and no error lights appear.
The printer has been connected to a different computer and ceased working last summer. The printer would not respond to commands from the computer nor would it respond to keys on the front of the printer itself. I can get the printhead to move using the controls on the front of the printer, however. The printer is not currently connected to any computer and the nearest computer does not have the appropriate drivers installed. Originally the printer was connected to a Dell desktop running Windows XP (sp 3).

Authentication required on Windows Printer

When I set up my windows network printer under leopard, it asked me to type in my user name and password to connect to the server with the windows print spooler. ok, done.
So now, when I print to that shared printer, the documents get hung up in the queue and give the document status as "On Hold (Authentication required)." If I click the document and then click RESUME, it asks me to "Enter your name and password to print to the printer." I do, but the documents do not print and the status in the queue doesn't change.
Anyone know what I'm not doing?

I have the solution for you.
Prerequisites: 1. your windows PC with the printer on it needs to have an admin account on it with a single word no spaces. (preferred unix) 2. your printer sharename is a single word (ie. Canon iP4300 should be just ip4300).
Now follow the below steps:
1. Open your system preferences > Open Print & Fax
2. Click + to add a printer.
3. Right-click on the Toolbar at the top and select "Customise Toolbar..."
4. Drag the "Advanced" icon to the toolbar & select "Done"
5. Click the "Advanced" icon
6. Select "Windows" from the "Type:" drop down menu
7. In the "URL:" textbox type the location of your windows printer in the format below (use the format depending on whether your Windows PC sharing the Printer has a password or not):
smb://username:password@ipaddress/printersharename <- Print Server does have a password
smb://username@ipaddress/printersharename <- Print Server does NOT have a password
(eg. smb://[email protected]/ip4300)
8. Enter a Name and Location. (Human Friendly Names with Spaces are allowed)
9. Now select the appropriate driver and then click "Add"
10. Try printing somthing and then it will ask for a username and password of your windows server. Type and username and then the password and then add this to your keychain and click OK.
And there you go. Printing in OSX 10.5

Require Fields Before Printing

I've been looking through the documentation of Adobe Live Cycle Designer and cannot find my answer. I have two fields, which I would like to be required. Upon a user pressing the print button, if these fields are empty, require it before the form will print.
I have looked everywhere and can't find my answer. I'm assuming the form will still print if the fields are blank if the user were to use the File>Print option through their specified browser?
Any help would be appreciated.

IMPORTANT:
- unfortunatly it does not check if required fields are empty
- it only checks the "validation pattern" under Object > Value
- the "Error" box beside "validation pattern message" MUST be checked (if it is not checked, your validation errors will still popup, but the function will return true when it should be false - and therefore the print box will popup)

I can't control borders properly when printing in Lightroom

I use large sheets of paper in my printer and typically want to print several photos on one sheet. In order to use the entire 19" length of the paper I select "borderless" printing in the printer options of my Epson Stylus Photo R3000 printer. For example, I create a template with five 5x7 photos and two 4x6 photos on one 13x19 sheet of paper. I then want each cell to have a border of 7 pts. I set this in the appropriate print option in Lightroom. I select each photo and drop it onto the appropriate cell. When I print this selection, Lightroom fails to preserve the 7pt borders of the various cells that lie on the outside edges of the paper. It preserves the 7 pt borders everywhere else. This occurs for any possible expansion setting I choose under the 'borderless' selection.
Conversely, if I do not select 'borderless' printing I get double width borders around the outside edges of the paper, single width borders on the interior edges, and therefor I cannot fit the last two 4x6 prints on the paper.
Is this a bug or is there a combination of settings which will give me what I want.

If you click on page set up in the bottom left corner a dialogue box appears, near the bottom it says "source" the default setting is "sheet" which is what you require, click on this and other options such as "sheet borderless" appear. Check that the source is set to sheet not sheet borderless.

Setting field/control "required" property with script

Am using LiveCycle 8.2.1x and Acrobat Pro Extended 9.1.2.
I want to change one control's "required" property based upon the user's input in/on another control (a drop-down list selection). Can it be done with FormCalc or Javascript? If so, how?

ReportViewer Control Layout for Duplex Printing

I have been looking around for a solution to this. What I need to do is print out postcards in Landscape mode in a 2x2 format. With careful sizing of the tablix control and the Body, I have accomplished this such that it will print this way.
The problem is that the reverse side of the page needs to contain a canned message.
There doesn't seem to be any way to control what goes on the reverse side, as only the header and footer have access to the PageNumber.
It's almost as if I need a second Body to the report or something, but I doubt that this is allowed in the .RDLC definition.
Any assistance here would be appreciated.

Using P4014n HP LaserJet Printer. Admiinstrator has set XML for Duplex Prinitng with Landscape Orientation, but we do not know what if any XML exists to control the Binding, for example, "Flip Pages Up" (aka, Calendar View) as referred to in the Finishing section of the Printer Controls.

By using command node, with some command we can handle this.

The Print function no longer seems to work in Firefox 6. When typing "Control P" or selecting Print from the file menu nothing happens. No error message, no drop down menu, nothing to select. Help!?

I can't print, print preview, nothing. I have several printers associated with this computer, including an HP, and PDF creator - none of these appear in a drop down menu, there is no error message, yet these all function fine if I am not on the internet!

No errors in error console. No effect using *. I tried using the dns name of my localhost both in the Firefox URL and in the javascript and I get exactly the same. I have spent a huge amount of time looking into this issue.
One thing I noticed is that if I use the examples on the internet (http://arunranga.com/examples/access-control/preflightInvocation.html or http://saltybeagle.com/cors/) they work in the same browser. These examples however, are accessed through HTTP proxies.
I am wondering if the issue has to do with using the same hostname just with different ports.
