Conversion to bytearray
Hi there,
I have an special object of a self created type
Command data = Command();
into this object, i fill several values of int, long, and double type.
data.pI.Datatype; //int
data.pI.Command; //int
data.pI.Size; //long
data.dVal1; //double
1)What's the easiest way to create a byte array of this data 'object'?
I want to send this command to a server which is only able to understand unsigned bytes.
2)Is there a way e.g. if data.pI.Command contains 155 (as int) to generate a 4 byte big bytearray containing:
byte[0] =00000000
byte[0] =00000000
byte[0] =00000000
byte[0] =10011011
how does such type conversions to arrays work in general?
any help is greatly appreciated.
regards,
stonee
1)What's the easiest way to create a byte array of
this data 'object'?I assume you mean a single byte array that holds all of those values. See the code below.
I want to send this command to a server which is only
able to understand unsigned bytes.bytes are bytes. Unsigned is a way of interpreting them.

containing:The code I am posting does all this using streams because I assumed you needed a solution that does both. I'm not guaranteeing this is the best way. If you need to set the values of Datatype, you'll need to write your own set method and call setByteArray() each time you change a value. Because of this, a different approach might be better. Two other ways are (1) use BigInteger class and (2) write your own code. There are examples you can find on the forums.

ByteArray to String and String to ByteArray error at readUTF from datainpu
hi everybody this is my first post I hope I can find the help I need I have been doing some research and couldnt find the solution thanks in advanced
The Objective:
im building a client server application with java and I need to send a response from the server to the client via Socket
so the response is like this : <Signal : ByteArray> where Signal is a String so the client can Identify the Type of response
and the ByteArray is an Array of bytes containing the Information I need
The Problem:
I have an Array of bytes containing the info to send and I need to pass this byte[] to a String add some String that let me Identify the data in the client side then remove the identifier in the client side and convert the resulting String back to an array of bytes this doesnt work
The Code:
Server Side (Creating the Byte Array):
public byte[] createData(){
ByteArrayOutputStream baos = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
DataOutputStream dos = new DataOutputStream(baos);
dos.writeUTF(requestedFile.getName());
dos.flush();
byte[] data = baos.toByteArray();
return data;
}Server Side (Converting the byte[] to String and Add some Identifier)
byte[] data= createData(); //Obtain the data in a byte[]
String response = new String(data); //Convert the Data to String
String Identifier= "14"; // to identify in the client side the data received this will be removed later
response = Identifier+response; // add the identifier to the String
sendToClient( response.getBytes() ); //obtain bytes from the complete Response and send them to clientClient Side ( Receive the response that is a byte array containing the identifier plus the info <Identifier : info> )
int index=response.indexOf(":")+1; //find the index of the : so i can delete the identifier
response=response.substring(index); // delete the identifier
byte[] data = response.getBytes(); // obtains the bytes for the info ONLY cause the string no longer has identif
receiveData ( data ); // send the data to be read by this method Client Side (Receive the Info sent from the server and read it)
public void receiveData ( byte[] data ) {
ByteArrayInputStream bais = new ByteArrayInputStream ( data );
DataInputStream dis= new DataInputStream ( bais );
setTotalSize ( dis.readUTF( ) ); // here is the error it catches an EndOfFileException without read the info
}im tried sending other values like long and int and i was able to read them but the problem is with the Strings at the ReadUTF()
Im tried to be the most clear as possible please help me this is driving me nuts
and I would really appreciatte all your comments thankslemaniak wrote:

I wish more people were as clear as you.
Second: I'm no expert on this stuff, so I may well be wrong, but I did note the following:
1. I can't see anywhere where you're putting out the ":" to separate your signal.
2. You seem to be doing an awful lot of conversions from Strings to bytes and vice-versa, but only your filename is specified as a UTF-8 conversion. Could you not do something like:
dos.writeUTF("14:" + requestedFile.getName());or indeed, more generically
dos.writeUTF(signal + ":" + messageBody);from inside a createMessage() method.
3. You haven't included the sendToClient() code, but your createData() looks suspiciously like what I would put in a method like that.
From what I understand, you usually want mirror-images of your streams at your sending and receiving ends, so if your client is expecting an DataInputStream wrapping a ByteArrayInputStream to be read via readUTF(), your server better be sending a ByteArrayOutputStream wrapped in a DataOutputStream created, in its entirety, by writeUTF().
But after your UTF conversion, you're adding your signal and then using String.getBytes(), which uses the default character set, not UTF.
HIH (and hope I'm right :-))

Numeric or value error: hex to raw conversion error , pls help
I am having problem with a sproc which accepts a Raw parameter.

(SPAddProfile);
cmd.AddInParameter("userName", DbType.String, userName);
cmd.AddInParameter("profile", DbType.Binary, serializedProfile);
securityDb.ExecuteNonQuery(cmd, transaction);
I get the following error:
Any suggestion on what needs to be changed to get this working? thanks!

NON-AIR allowLoadBytesCodeExecution - Converting ByteArray to SWF/MovieClip
Hello everyone,
is there any way to convert a ByteArray (obviously containing a loaded swf's data) to an SWF/MovieClip at runtime in Flash Player 10? Even a very complicated byte-by-byte conversion?
There is a very easy solution for this in AIR, that is using Loader.loadBytes() with the allowLoadBytesCodeExecution set to true. But the allowLoadBytesCodeExecution property is inaccessible in Flash Player 10.
Thank you in advance for any respose.
Maciej,
Poland.I even tried porting the code to Gumbo and running it there - still, no fonts are being enumerated.
If you're too lazy to read the whole above post, here's the problem in one sentence
An SWF that contains a textfield with embedded fonts, when launched by itself succeeds to return the embedded font using Font.enumerateFonts(false), however when loaded using Loader.loadBytes into AIR, it fails to see those fonts even though the textfield in it is displayed and editable.
How do I make the loaded child application and AIR see the embedded font? -
How to write bytearray in sqlite

Hi,
you've 3115 unrecognized token error - which could be for example that statement do not contains required/expected value - or contains value that is not recognized (unexpected) I think. Have you tried parameters?
var sql:String = "INSERT INTO thumbnail (fileName, filePath, fileData) VALUES (@name, @path, @data)";
ssm.text = sql;
ssm.parameters["@name"] = name;
ssm.parameters["@path"] = path;
ssm.parameters["@data"] = data;
or:
var sql:String = "INSERT INTO thumbnail (fileName, filePath, fileData) VALUES (:name, :path, :data)";
ssm.text = sql;
ssm.parameters[":name"] = name;
ssm.parameters[":path"] = path;
ssm.parameters[":data"] = data;
or:
var sql:String = "INSERT INTO thumbnail (fileName, filePath, fileData) VALUES (?, ?, ?)";
ssm.text = sql;
ssm.parameters[0] = name;
ssm.parameters[1] = path;
ssm.parameters[2] = data;
Your "data" needs to be ByteArray (as it is raw byte blob). You need parameters because (as in linked doc) when parametrized value is used it is directly:
Values supplied as parameters using the SQLStatement.parameters associative array are assigned the storage class that most closely matches the native data type bound. For example [...] ByteArray objects are given the BLOB storage class.
When using object to be written as BLOB in SQL string literal (as in your sample) the previous paragraph in Adobe's docs says it is expected to provide data in special hexadecimal notation and I haven't yet seen someone using bytearray with that way of data conversion during sql injection - but I've seen people using parametrized values to insert byte array into blob already.

Conversion of Characteristic Values to SIDs is taking long time
Hi Experts,
Cube load is taking more than 7 hrs to complete for 6 million records. Max time is at Conversion of Characteristic Values to SIDs. Cube consists of 500 fields. Load is from DSO to Cube. DSO has 10 fileds with no SID flag check for activation. Remaining fields in the CUBE are pouplated looking in to other DSO's. Start and End routines are executing very fast. How to fasten Conversion of Characteristic Values to SIDs step. I need to load 15 million records daily as part of delta. any suggestions.

11i to r12 Conversion - help needed
Hi
My client is doing re-implementation of r12 and migrating from 11i to r12. I need help particularly on conversions side. The client is a SaaS company. they are considering to bring open and history transactions and applied/unapplied receipts to r12 AR.
- how to migrate revenue scheduled open/closed invoices from 11i to r12 since rev schedules for a SaaS company is expected to be long terms. and how to make sure that rev schedules are correct upon migration to r12??
- for partially paid invoices how to make sure that the same partially paid amount reflects in r12 upon conversion? can a negative line amount equalling to paid amount be a possible solution??
- upon migration do the closed invoices have to be converted as open and receipts re-applied after migration in r12 or they can be brought in as-is with status closed?
- if customer paid for an invoice using a credit card in 11i and upon migration it came to notice that the credit card is no longer used by the customer so how to re-apply the same receipt in r12 which was applied in 11i using that credit card. do we have to enable it in r12 just for closing the invoice? what could be possibilities?
please anyone if can answer would be very helpful
Thanks

1000/72 = 13,88888 inch
1 inch = 25,4 mm
13,88888 * 25,4 = 352,7777 mm

I can turn my phone onto Airplane mode but when it is in this mode I cant receive the important phone calls and text messages that i need to answer.
Somebody please help me.

Hi. I often use the conversation search option when archiving my emails from inbox. I find this a very useful method of finding trails where I and multiple people have responded to each other. However If I have already moved one or more of these emails into the archive folder and select all to move, Thunderbird will not move any. I then need to individually select those that need to be moved.
Although not a major issue I use this regularly and often come across the problem. a recent fix which allows location tab to remain on in search helps but does not resolve this issue. A slightly annoying problem and I was wondering if any one else has this issue. Also is anyone looking into a solution?FCPx answer: At least the answer that worked for me...
I had the same problem, as I believe many others had.
In my case the problem was with one of OSX Mavericks' new features: APP NAP.
It looks like this is ON by DEFAULT for ALL Applications and that FCPx, or Compressor for that matter, will not work if this is enabled on them.
I just disabled App Napp on FCPx and now it works, again, like a charm.
This is how you disable App Nap: http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-57612009-263/how-to-disable-app-nap-in-os-x -mavericks/

Import conversion data table from SAP R/3 into value mapping table in XI
Hi:
Somebody knows how to import a table with conversion data that are in SAP R/3 and to take it to a value mapping table in XI?
The purpose is to use a mapping table that can change in the future. Must I use a ABAP programming that retrieve data and build the value mapping table?
If so, how I specify in the ABAP programming the group id, the scheme, the agency and the corresponding value?
Please, help me.
Regards!!!Hi David,
please refer to this section in the help: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/2a/9d2891cc976549a9ad9f81e9b8db25/content.htm
There is an interface for mass replication of mapping data. The steps you need to carry out to use this are:
+Activities
To implement a value-mapping replication scenario, proceed as follows:
1. Register the Java (inbound) proxies.
To do so, call the following URLs in the following order in your Internet browser:
¡ http://:/ProxyServer/register?ns=http://sap.com/xi/XI/System&interface=ValueMappingReplication&bean=localejbs/sap.com/com.sap.xi.services/ValueMappingApplication&method=valueMappingReplication (for the asynchronous replication scenario)
¡ http://:/ProxyServer/register?ns=http://sap.com/xi/XI/System&interface=ValueMappingReplicationSynchronous&bean=localejbs/sap.com/com.sap.xi.services/ValueMappingApplicationSynchronous&method=valueMappingReplicationSynchronous (for the synchronous replication scenario)
You only need to perform this step once (for each installation).
2. Application programming
The ABAP program must perform the following tasks:
¡ Read the value mapping data from the external table
¡ Call the outbound proxy used to transfer the data to a message, which is then sent to the Integration Server
3. Configuration of the replication scenario in the Integration Directory
This involves creating all the configuration objects you need to execute the scenario successfully. One special aspect of the value-mapping replication scenario is that the receiver is predefined (it must be on the Integration Server). The sender, however, is not predefined in the replication scenario and can be defined to meet your individual requirements.
For example, you can use the shipped ABAP proxies.
In the case of the receiver communication channel, choose the adapter type XI. Ensure that you configure a channel for the Java proxy receiver in this case.
Enter the path prefix /MessagingSystem/receive/JPR/XI for this purpose.

There used to be a preference setting in Pages. Now it seems gone in Pages 5. So how do I stop automatic conversation of URLs to hyperlinks and seeing them underlined in text. Sometimes I want it, but not always.
The preference setting to turn off links is gone. When you enter content that triggers link detection, a link character style gets applied. Right-click on the link, choose Edit Link from the menu, and then Remove.
To prevent Pages from automatically detecting links, visit Edit > Substitutions > and deselect Smart Links.
