Convert csv to sql

I am trying to use the 'Convert CSV to SQL' automator action, however, the 'Before', 'Per Row', and 'After' option windows are all greyed out.
Does anyone have this too?
I'm running OS X 10.10.1.
Thanks, Andre

Yes, I also have this problem. OS X 10.10.1 (14B25).

  • Converting .csv to .ics

    Is there an easy way to convert a .csv excel spreadsheet to .ics for easy importation to iCal?

    The page says the "Convert CSV to SQL" action is in the standard Automator library, but I didn't find it and it doesn't seem to be on my system.
    However, since this page you referenced is on the developers site, I'd suspect the actions it lists would be available if you installed the developer tools from you system disks that came with your computer (or the OS upgrade if you've upgraded since then). You'll likely also want to log in and download any updates to the developer tools from the ADC site.
    Just guessing since I don't have the developers tools installed, though it seems the most plausible excuse for it saying it's there when it isn't.
    However, I'm quite convinced it would be so, since one of the actions listed is "Build Xcode Project". Xcode is only available once you've installed the developer tools, so it makes since the Automator actions wouldn't be available unless you had it installed. Other actions in that list appear to be the same in that way. And I do remember seeing the "Build Xcode Project" action when I used to have the developer tools installed, so I'm quite confident this is the case for the other actions, too.

  • Import data from csv to SQL database

    How to  Import data from csv to SQL database through BLS-xMII?

    Hi,
    if you using Oracle, you may also use the bulk insert with MII. You can use the String List to XML parser to convert your CSV to XML, and then use a query that calls a stored procedure which does the bulk insert.
    Also have a look at thread [read XML file into stored procedure|http://forums.sdn.sap.com/click.jspa?searchID=63850236&messageID=7455643].

So i replace the existing stationary csv with the new stationary csv, then run the make-sql.sh which creates an oracle compatable sql script all.sql....now my problem is that this all.sql is not getting updated right. i.e. when i compare the csv file and the all.sql there are fields that hold different data...pls let me know what cld be causing this....

    Hi,
    What you are doing here is, generating some data with prolog.sql and then, your main logic to csv to sql is in the Java program GenerateInsertFromCSV.java .
    So, you need to find out the logic of that code. The shell script is not doing anything apart from calling the Java code.
    Have a deep look into the same.

  • CONVERT function in SQL Server to oracle

    All,
    How to convert CONVERT function in SQL Server to oracle, below mentioned format is in SQL Server:
    variable1 = convert(numeric(20), SUBSTRING( parameter1,parameter2,parameter3)
    parameter1 datatype nvarchar2(100)
    parameter2 datatype bigint
    parameter3 datatype bigint
    I did bit R&D, but was not successful..but still getting on..
    If any help that would be great...
    Regards,
    ~ORA

    You cannot specify the precision/scale or length of input paramters to a stored procedure in Oracle, or at least the pl/sql engine does not respect the sizing. Assuming that you want to do something with variable1 in the procedure, and not just return it, the Oracle equivalent would be something along the lines of:
    SQL> CREATE FUNCTION f (p_param1 IN VARCHAR2,
      2                     p_param2 IN NUMBER,
      3                     p_param3 IN NUMBER) RETURN NUMBER IS
      4     l_var1 NUMBER(20) := SUBSTR(p_param1, p_param2, p_param3);
      5  BEGIN
      6     RETURN l_var1 * 10;
      7  END;
      8  /
    Function created.
    SQL> SELECT f('ABC10DEF', 4, 2) FROM dual;
    F('ABC10DEF',4,2)
                  100You may need to adjust the return type to match what you are actually returning.
    You can also use this iin a direct assignment in pl/sql without doig a select, something like:
    SQL> DECLARE
      2     l_num NUMBER(20);
      3  BEGIN
      4     l_num := f('ABC10DEF', 4, 2);
      5     DBMS_OUTPUT.Put_Line('The number is: '||l_num);
      6  END;
      7  /
    The number is: 100John

    How do i convert it to sql datetime.

    VikraM

    is "EEE d MMM yyyy HH:mm:ss Z" your default data format
    if not your first constructor will not parse date properly so your date object contains invalid date, when you try to format it it throws exception.

  • How to convert csv files into java bean objects?

    Hi,
    I have a CSV file, I want to store the data availabale in that csv file into java bean, I am new to this csv files how can I convert CSV files into java beans.
    Please help me.
    Adavanced Thanks,
    Mahendra

    You can use the java.io API to read (and write) files. Use BufferedReader to read the CSV file line by line. Use String#split() to split each line into an array of parts which were separated by comma (or semicolon). If necessary run some escaping of quotes. Finally collect all parts in a two-dimensional List of Strings or a List of Javabeans.

  • Help with counting XML elements and converting from MS SQL 2008 to ORACLE

    Hello,
    My ORACLE DB version is:
    ('Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.2.0 - 64bit Production');
    ('PL/SQL Release 11.2.0.2.0 - Production');
    ('CORE     11.2.0.2.0     Production');
    ('TNS for Linux: Version 11.2.0.2.0 - Production');
    ('NLSRTL Version 11.2.0.2.0 - Production');
    I'm trying to convert the below SQL Server 2008 query to work on Oracle. It's important to note that the XMLData column type is CLOB.
    Query 1)
    -- Number of validations
    select br.rulename, CAST(( CAST(br.XMLData as XML)).query('count(//Validation/Expressions/Expression)') as nvarchar(50)) as "Number of //Validation/Expressions/Expression"
    from AsBusinessRules br
    where
    DATALENGTH(br.XMLData)>10
    and CAST(( CAST(br.XMLData as XML)).query('count(//Validation/Expressions/Expression)') as nvarchar(50)) not like '0'
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    You can try one of these :
    select br.rulename
         , count(*) as "Num. of Expression"
    from AsBusinessRules br
       , xmltable(
           '//Validation/Expressions/Expression'
           passing xmltype(br.XMLData)
         ) x
    where length(br.XMLData) > 10
    group by br.rulename
    having count(*) != 0
    ;or,
    select br.rulename
         , xmlcast(
             xmlquery(
               'count(//Validation/Expressions/Expression)'
               passing xmltype(br.XMLData)
               returning content
             as number
           ) as "Num. of Expression"
    from AsBusinessRules br
    where length(br.XMLData) > 10
    and xmlcast(
          xmlquery(
            'count(//Validation/Expressions/Expression)'
            passing xmltype(br.XMLData)
            returning content
          as number
        ) != 0
    It's important to note that the XMLData column type is CLOB.Could you consider migrating the column to XMLType datatype?
    Given your version, it would be binary XML by default and therefore a lot more performant with XQueries, compared to a simple CLOB storage.

  • Extract data from Flat file CSV to SQL Server 2008 using SSIS 2008 (Data gets corrupted when extraction)

    Hi,
    I am trying to extract data from multiple CSV files to SQL into a single table. The data type of all the columns in SQL table is nvarchar(MAX).  I am able to extract the data from the flat files but some of the data(on extraction) is
    corrupt including question marks(?) and other invalid special characters. Also I tried selecting the UTF-8, 65001(Unicode) format but the problem still persists. Also I tried using data converter but no use.
    I checked with the data in the flat file but there is no data with question mark(?) or any other special characters.
    The separator in the flat file is Comma(,)
    Please help.
    Thanks in advace.

    The source system and application determines the code page and encoding. Is it Windows, Unix, Mainframe or some other type?
    Unicode files sometimes begin with a byte order mark (2 bytes) to indicate little or big endian.  If you open the file in notepad and then select save as, the encoding in the dialog will show the encoding notepad detected based on the BOM.  If
    that is ANSI instead of Unicode or UTF-8, you will need to know the code page the source system used when the file was created.

  • How can I convert a mysql sql script to a oracle sql script

    Hi,
    We have a bunch of tables with data running on a mysql server.
    This should now be moved to an oracle 9 db.
    are there any tools to convert the import script of a mysql db
    to a format of the sql script that work for oracle ?
    Thanks
    Michael

    Oracle has a tool called Migration Toolbench, which supports MySQL 3.22 and 3.23:
    http://otn.oracle.com/tech/migration/workbench/content.html
    On this same topic, I was wondering if anybody has tried migrating from PostgreSQL to Oracle 9i. The workbench doesn't seem to support it, and feeding a pg_dump file directly into SQL*Plus is not working.
