Convert excel 95 file to excel 97/later file

I have a bunch of excel files in excel 95 format and I need convert them to excel 97/later format. How can I have this done in my java program?

I'm getting the following error when trying to convert .xls and .xlsx files to pdf, using the "Create PDF" option:
Error message from the primary converter:
ALC-PDG-010-012-PDFMaker reported an error while printing the document.
Word, Powerpoint and Text files convert without any issues. Also I'm able to opent the excel files and convert them to pdf using the acrobat option in excel.
Livecycle Version: 10.0.2, GM
MS Office Version: 2007

It is always difficult when you need to convert multiple xls files to pdf or multiple sheets to pdf. If you have a single file to convert then the best method would be to copy your data to doc file and then convert it into PDF . If you have multiple files to convert then it is really difficult to convert all the files manually. Then the better method would be to use converter tool to convert excel to pdf . By doing this you can convert many files in just few seconds.

Hi, Sylvain.
This is a great idea! Currently, ExportPDF only can export 1 file at a time. (Acrobat can do a batch export using it's Action Wizard feature.)

There are a few ways to export your PDF file to Word or Excel files.
Using Web UI:
Log into https://exportpdf.acrobat.com/signin.html with your Adobe ID and password
Select “Export from PDF”
Click “Select Files” button then choose your PDF file
Select the format from the list below
Check ON “Recognized text in” if your PDF file is scanned images to recognize the image to text
Click “Export” button
Click “Download” button in the progress bar after completion of exporting to download the file to your computer.
Using Adobe Reader:
Launch Adobe Reader X or Reader XI
Select “Tools” and click “Sign In” link to sign in with your Adobe ID and password
Select “Export PDF” then click “Select PDF file” link
Select format from “Convert To”
Click “Convert”
Click “Download Converted File” link to download the file to your computer after the process is completed.
Download Files:
All exported files are stored at https://files.acrobat.com and you can login with your Adobe ID and password.
Or at Web UI you can click “FILES” next to “TOOLS” at top or click “View All files” in the file list of “Export from PDF” tool( or “Convert to PDF” or “Combine Files” tools for PDF Pack users) that will redirect you to the above site(https://files.acrobat.com)
From Reader you can click “Store Files” under “Tools” and click the link of “Open Acrobat.com Files”

It's probably not something wrong you're doing, just the way the file was
created. You can look under File - Properties - Description and see what
application and PDF producer were used to generate it. My guess is it was
not produced using Adobe software.
At any rate, there's no a lot you can do about it, I'm afraid. You can try
re-frying it, ie sending it to the PDF Printer to produce a new copy, and
then exporting that to Word/Excel, but that's about it.

Distortion of excel charts when converting microsoft publisher file to pdf

I am using the print "Adobe PDF" function in publisher to convert a publisher file to pdf. Some exel pie charts that were pasted into the publisher file become distorted at the edges in the pdf file. I have tried playing with various settings and using the "print quality" settings but nothing has helped. See the attached files for an example of the excel chart, publisher file, and results I am getting when converting to pdf.

I'm sorry I didn't make it clear. What I'm trying to say is that the graphic looks just fine in publisher. But when it is converted to a pdf, the graphic has distorted edges, if you look at the publisher and pdf files I attached I think you might see what I'm talking about.
Please let me know if it's still not clear.

I'm trying to convert a PDF file ( 510 pages), consisting of horizontal and vertical charts into excel. The first few pages were fine but the rest were messed up. Every number was displayed in the wrong collumn. Could anyone help? I'm happy to send it to you so you can take a look.

I need to convert .xsl file using XI and send an IDOC. I am not sure how to do that. Do i need to write some JAVA API's for the same. Is File adapter capable of converting .xsl files.

If you are using Excel 2003 it is possible to save the document in an XML format. This http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/odc_xl2003_ta/html/OfficeExcelXMLToolAddin.asp page might help to describe what the format is.
If you are using older versions you probably have to write a module/java mapnig to convert the XSL file to XML.

Once a file is converted into excel format, you can select the columns and press the delete button to delete their data.
