Convert HTML Web form to a PDF

I have an HTML web form which will be filled out by a user online. Is it possible for me to convert this form and the data which has been filled in by the user to a pdf and save it to a file after the user selects submit?

You should be able to log into the online Formscentral Acrobat XI air app and see your doc there. From there you would need to save it out as a PDF without a submit button to have it continue to work past July. If you don't see your online form(s) please let me know the adobeID you use to log into the service as well as the form name that is missing and I will look into it for you.

What you're describing is a server-side programming, where web form data populates PDF template - essentially, generating PDF based on user input. We've done similar work using PHP and I'm not aware of any canned solution that can do it without custom coding.

Can I convert a web page into a pdf document

With IE it is possible to convert a web page to a pdf document if you have full Adobe Acrobat. Can this be done with Firefox.

You cannot convert a webpage to pdf using Adobe PDF Pack. You need to use Adobe Acrobat for the purpose.

PB 12.5.1 Web Forms save as PDF

I'm having trouble creating PDF files in a Web Forms app deployed to a new server. I've done this successfully a few times using apparently identical configurations, so I'm not sure what's going on. Facts about the situation:
1. PB Classic 12.5.1 Web Forms target
2. IIS 7.5 on a remote Windows Server 2008 R2 server
3. Ghostscript 8.71
4. To determine whether Ghostscript was the problem, I installed a Win32 version of the PB app on the IIS server computer and tested. SaveAs() works as expected in the Win32 target.
5. To determine whether file system permissions were a problem, I used the Web Forms app to SaveAs() a text document and performed the DownloadFile(). The file downloads as expected.
6. It is the SaveAs() function call that is failing. The line
dw_report.SaveAs(<filename>, PDF!, FALSE)
returns -1

Here is some code that I use in a webform application to create a PDF file and send it as an attachment. Remember that you have to do MapVirtualPath so you can find the file after you do dw_1.saveas...
Also, when I had trouble it was because I named my printer 'Sybase Datawindow' instead of 'Sybase Datawindow PS'.
Chris Pollach recently posted some great step by step installation procedures for 32 and 64 bit machines.

Trouble converting HTML with multiple layers to PDF

Acrobat has a great feature where you can convert a webpage with multiple layers into a multi-page PDF. I've run into a couple example web pages that are giving me problems:
1) Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies

I try to convert a page with 28 links to PDF's that are multi-page PDF's, but it looks like all of the pages start importing into acrobat out of order. I get page 1, page 2, then it jumps to page 6, etc... What am I doing wrong or is it something with how the site is storing the images on the server?

I'm unable to select a profession/board type from a drop down menu and successfully convert the pages contained therein from HTML to PDF. Does the 'convert multple layers' feature of acrobat not support pages that are built as a "dropdown database" type search?

I'm having trouble converting a Word Form to a PDF form because the table cells are importing incorrectly. How can I fix it?

I am converting a form from Word to PDF. The form includes several tables and the tables are converting with weird lines where the corners meet. I've tried everything. I've even retyped a portion of the form and tried importing it but it still had the weird lines. I'd rather not recreate the form in PDF because it's not short and I already have a perfectly good form to import. Any suggestions?

IDCS3 How to convert checkbox into form button in PDF?

I have an InDesign CS3 document that has lots of text checkboxes next to items in a list.
I would like to be able to export this doc as PDF and have those checkboxes turned into form buttons that the reader can toggle on or off to indicate items that the reader owns.
Then the reader could print the PDF and they would have a nice neat record of their items.
At present I don't need to have these PDF forms returned electronically or tallied or anything. The idea is just to use the PDF as a personal inventory.
So I'm hoping there's some easy way to globally replace my text-based checkboxes in IDCS3 with buttons that look the same but which will be recognized properly by Acrobat as interactive objects the state of which can be toggled with a click.
I've tried reading all the help files and searching these forums, but can't figure out how to do this. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

You cannot do this in InDesign.
However, you can export a PDF file and open it in Acrobat 8 Professional or Acrobat 9 Pro. Then you can use the Form Field Recognition feature (Forms menu) in Acrobat 8 or Start Form Wizard in Acrobat 9 Pro.

You can use Adobe PDF Pack to combine PDF files (12 at a a time using that service). When you use PDF Pack, you can determine what order the files are combined in, but it doesn't offer more granularity than that. If you wanted more control over how the pages are combined, you would want to use Acrobat, which is also offered as a monthly subscription (and as an annual one).

Can't get php and web form to function properly

Hello,
I have a html web form and a php code that works fine in my older website.
i just updated my site and need to transfer the code for the html form into a newly designed page.
I copied and pasted the form into the new page. The form come up and works properly except that it doesn't send the form to my email address.
Everything appears to be the same as my old page but obviously i don't have them linked properly. i've attached the code to both html files. thanks for any help. Owen

How send a Print Form as attachment PDF?

Hi everybody,
I have created an Interactive Forms where I can input any new data.
When I click on the button for save the new data, I must also convert my Interactive Form in PDF for send it as attachment to email. When I have groped to convert the interactive form in a PDF file, I lost the data that I have inserted.
So I have created a Print Form through transaction SFP.
I recall the print form in background mode and gets the form of Interactive Data and requiring as import table OTF, but the OTF table is returned to me is different from that of a smartform and so I can not use the function module u2018CONVERT_OTFu2019.
Carryover in the code, you know give me directions?
With the code I'm used to create the PDF file and attach it to email, but the files that I receive by email can not I open it, probably because of an error in formatting during its creation.

Paste a form onto a pdf?

I am trying to find a way to create a little interactivity to pdf documents. i scan in my records as pdfs but need to track certain peices of information for them, i tried to create a dynamic stamp but it flattens once its created meaingin i cannot edit it later. i have 6 form fields that i would need to fill out, then place that on the first page of the document. i don't want to have to create a whole new page in teh file just to fill out 6 pieces of information. is there a way to place my little form on top of the first page and still be abel to use it?

Exactly how did you create the template?
There is form wizard in Acrobat that can convert a Word form into a PDF form.
If you use OpenOffice.org you can create a form with fields and convert that directly to a form with fields.
Then you insert that PDF form into your scanned PDF, convert the form page into a template and then overlay that template onto your PDF and fill in the form fields. Now delete the template from your PDF.

Is it better to create HTML web form outside of flash?

You need some kind of shopping cart product. This is the
easiest way. I don't know of many for Flash but there are several
for Dreamweaver (I've used Cartweaver for a few project and it's
worked fine)
The only other way is create your own which would involves
ActionScript and database of prices and products, etc.
