Convert PDF to Pages, TIF Images & Text

Hi,
I need commands in VBG.NET to convert a PDF file into separate pages.
Each page needs to be converted to a text file and also an imgage TIF image file.
Please help.

Hi,
I'm getting the same error "The Image is too wide to output. Please crop it or reduce resolution and try again." too.
This error comes up when using SaveAs method in C# code:
Object jsObj = m_pdDoc.GetJSObject ();
Type jsType= m_jsObj.GetType ();
object[] saveAsParam = { tiffFile, "com.adobe.acrobat.tiff", "", false, false };
jsType.InvokeMember ("saveAs",
                                 BindingFlags.InvokeMethod |
                                 BindingFlags.Public |
                                 BindingFlags.Instance,
                                          null, jsObj, saveAsParam, CultureInfo.InvariantCulture);
Is it possible to catch this error programmatically and then change the resolution of TIFF?
I tried to catch this error in the try/catch block that didn't work. Any ideas?
I can change the resolution manually in Preference of Adobe Acrobat Pro and that works fine. I need to manage this programmatically.
Thanks

  • Firefox printing to Adobe PDF saves pages as images

    I like to save articles / webpages as PDF. The printer that i am using is the standard PDF printer that comes with Adobe Acrobat Professional version 9.4
    Firefox prints to PDF pages as image files, whereas Internet Explorer etc is able to print pages as simple PDF where text etc can be selected.
    Previous to this, i was having a huge problem in printing to PDF. I tried other PDF printers with the the same issue. The PC would just freeze etc if i tried to print to PDF from Firefox version 3.6 etc.
    The PC is an Core i7 950 3.0GHZ with 6GB RAM, so not really an old PC.

    I had the same problem. Here's how to fix it:
    Go to "about:config", set "gfx.direct2d.disabled" to "true"

  • Converting PDF to Word changes the text to symbols. How to correct?

    Hi. I'm using Acrobat XI Pro and converting PDF's to Word docs changes the main text to symbols. I've tried this several times and always get the same result. Any idea as to how to correct? Thanks.

    Does the same thing happen if you select some text in the document, copy it
    and then paste it to Word?
    If so, then it's most likely a faulty font encoding.

  • Multi Pages TIF Images

    Dear All,
    I have an attachments form that read an image files from client machine and store it in an oracle BLOB column.
    I use the following code to transfer the file from client machine to my database table :
    webutil_file_transfer.Client_to_db(filepath,tableName, columnName, whereClause);
    It works fine for me except for multipages Tif images coming from fax . the system save only the first page.
    I am using oracle database 11g and oracle forms 10g .
    Any ideas please ?

    Hello François,
    Thanks for your kind response.
    Yes I did and I tried to see the file using PL/Sql Developer and it shows only the first page of the image file.
    Note : I tried also to open the original file from client machine using Microsoft Paint and it shows only one page but if I use Windows Picture and Fax Viewer it shows full 3 pages.

  • Converting pdf to word generates image

    I'm using Acrobat XI trial on Windows 7, Office 2010
    I converted an old pdf (that looks as if it was scanned from the original book) by using Tools-->Export File to--> Microft Word document (I noticed the Edit-->Preferences-->convert from pdf to word shows "Run OCR if needed: TRUE")
    I expected an editable Word document, but the text appears as an image in Word 2010 (page is outlined with dotted blue line; right-clicking shows options for picture formatting; clicking anywhere on the page does not allow editing individual words).
    Any ideas on getting the text image into Word for editing?  Some of the words look quite "degraded" so I understand that any OCR process will not be perfect; I'm just looking for a way to get this book in Word without having to OCR each page, one at a time.
    Thanks for any help/ideas!

    OCR the original using ClearScan. That replaces the images with text. Then save as a DOC file.

  • 'Unable to convert pdf; invalid page range or conversion setting parameters'

    Hello,
    I keep getting this error anytime I try to convert any type of ms 2003 file to pdf.  I've tried to reinstall my acrobat 8 professional twice and even ran a repair with no fix.  It almost just freezes.   I can say this: this error started when I tried to clone this hard drive but it didn't work so I just left put the old drive back in the pc.  I was told this may have something to do with it but now i need to know how to fix it. Please help!

    On my VISTA machine I am at AA8.2.4 or whatever the latest is. However, that should not be the issue with the crashing. You might also try a repair of Acrobat from the control panel>add/remove programs menu.
    Here are the steps I was suggesting:
    1. Open the file in WORD.
    2. Select the File>Print menu and check Print-to-file.
    3. Print the file (and note where you save it). It is a good idea to go ahead and give it an extension of PS (rather than the default PRN) -- it is a PS file.
    4. Close WORD and open Distiller.
    5. Open the file in Distiller and see if you get the PDF.
    If you are still having problems, you might try printing only a few pages at a time (I am guessing things about your file) and see if the document prints. If that works, go back and empty the TEMP folder and try again. You may just be running out of room in this folder.

  • FM to Convert PDF file in Stream of Text

    Hi Folks,
       I am working on a RFC Function Module, which downloads SAPScript as a PDF file. Now they wants PDF file should be return as a EXPORT PARAMETER of TYPE C and length 36000.
       Currently the FM is downloading the PDF using FM GUI_DOWNLOAD. And Structure of the internal table, which contains PDF file is TLINE (DB Structure).
       This FM will be used by some JAVA Web Application. Is any FM is available in SAP, which converts the PDF file is the Text Stream.
    Thanks,
    Punit

    you cannot convert the pdf content to text format (even if you convert, it will not be useable and PDF reader wont be able to understand it).
    rather you should convert it to binary/xstring format.
    you can use the following code to convert your OTF data to pdf xstring.
    call function 'CONVERT_OTF'
        EXPORTING
          format                = 'PDF'
        IMPORTING
          bin_filesize          = l_pdf_len
          bin_file              = l_pdf_xstring
        TABLES
          OTF                   = OUTPUT_DATA-OTFDATA
          LINES                 = LT_LINES
        EXCEPTIONS
          err_max_linewidth     = 1
          err_format            = 2
          err_conv_not_possible = 3
          err_bad_otf           = 4
          others                = 5.

  • How to Convert Pdf To Page Turni

    As it pertains to the most-used work documents, we have to mention PDF. Yes, PDF (portable document format) is just a record format created by Adobe Systems. There is a PDF file an extendable that can be viewed by everyone on any computer process precisely the same method. The reason being their format cross platform is maintained by PDF files. Talking about audio tracks, I am afraid we have to mention MP3 file. Switching a PDF to an MP3 could be attractive to make an audio version of a pdffile, for example an into an audiobook. Converting a PDF to MP3 is not tough and entirely possible to do with the tools that are right.  Pdf to Word Converter

  • Converting .pdf to .tif

    I deal with constuction documents. Our plans can be as big as
    36 x 48. Ive been converting .tif to .pdf and .pdf to .tif for
    years. I recently upgraded to the CS4 package (Acrobat Pro 9). Now,
    when I try to convert .pdf drawings to .tif I get an error, "The
    image is too wide to output, Please crop it or reduce resolution
    and try again. Document: 04 C1.1 Cover Sheet.pdf Command: Saving
    Page: 1".
    I cannot adjust the dimension of the drawing due to scaling
    issues. The plans must remain at the same scale due to the drawings
    being architectural drawings & engineering drawings.
    Any ideas?

    Thank you for posting! As long as the tiff that you're
    exporting doesn't exceed 4GB, it should be able to export just
    fine. That is odd!
    You may like to know that this question would best be asked
    in the Acrobat Forums.

  • How To Convert Multi Page Tiff Image Through open office in application

    I will Appreciate Any Effort Or Reply Which Can Tell Me , To convert a multi-page tiff image in pdf format in application i.e not on desktop using simple open -office but through coding. I doubt if there Exists Ny Plugin Or Separate Library Which Can Do Tht.  Code Or Library inJava Language will Be Preferable

    Your question does not make any sense. First, PDF does not support multi-page TIFFs. DO you have a PDF that you are trying to convert to WORD or what. It is unclear of what you are starting with and what your end goal is. If you are dealing with coding, you may need to check the SDK forum, but trying to understand what you are trying to do would be a good idea first.

  • Converting pdf into images.

    Lots of info on putting images into a PDF with Bridge, but I can’t find anything for converting pdf's into individual images.  Reversing the process in other words.  I know you can import pdf's into Photoshop, then save as jpeg.  I do this now using "Actions" to help simplify, but when my pdf document is 150 pages +, it's even time consuming playing an action for every page, especially when I have many large pdfs.
    Anyway Bridge (using CS4) can save out each page separately into a jpeg?
    Any help is appreciated.

    I think you have pointed me on the right direction.  More of a Photoshop job.  Little unsure of how to batch process files already opened in Photoshop, but nothing a little reading up in the help files wont answer...hopefully.  Thanks.

  • While generating PDF from webpage or website some of the images/texts doesnt show up in PDF. Also, there are a lot of formatting inconsistencies.

    Creating, Editing & Exporting PDFs ! ! !

    Can anyone please help, the websites hosted with us are developed on adobe CQ5.4 content management tool and when they are exported to PDF some of the images / texts doesn't get generated in the PDF. Also, the css /theme doesn't get generated resulting in formatting inconsistencies.
    However, if the same website is generated using some online PDF converters all Images & texts are coming fine with correct formatting.
    Is this issue due to using CQ CMS as that has a lot of components or is there a limitation with Acrobat XI pro trial version or anything else ?
    Appreciate if some one could provide inputs.
    Thanks

  • Using PDF's with Webcenter Imaging

    Hey
    We are installing an automated AP solution using WebCenter imaging and our client has dictated that invoices must be scanned to PDF to comply with State Govt requirements. However, this conflicts with our IPM build as we are using WebCenter Capture and it only inputs invoices in TIF format. We have told them that we can scan to TIF and output PDF using the ODC/OFR, or by converting them using IBR when the image hits WCC. The Record Manager is adamant though, and this conversation is ongoing.
    In the meantime, I am trying to think laterally to find a technical solution. The only two ideas I have so far are:
    1. Use Import Server to conver scanned PDF's to TIF before batching them up.
    2. Use a third party solution to create a TIF copy of the PDF after scanning.
    I'm not really happy with either idea, so I thought I'd seek the advice of the collective. Surely this must be a common-ish problem.
    Cheers,
    A

    Hi Alec,
    to be precise, ODC allows inputs (in a scan profile) of TIFF, JPEG, PCX, or BMP (see http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E10316_01/capture/odcad.pdf page 11-4)
    If you have images already in PDF (I guess it will be PDF/A with textual layer), the first question is: why you want to use Capture at all? Is it because you want to extract some metadata from the image? Maybe, you could, then, use OutsideIn to convert PDFs into XML (or plain text) and get your metadata from there. Afterwards, you would upload your PDF with obtained metadata directly to Imaging.
    I also think that Import Server does not convert file format, but rather takes the file and adds in to a batch (for indexing/committing), so on condition that it can grab PDFs, you should be good to go with Import Server as such - it's been a while since I've done something with Import Server, so I'm not sure of all details. If you have an environment up and running, it should be easy to verify. Either way, Import and Scan are the only options to get inputs into batches, so if Import does not work for you, you can't use Capture anyway.
    I hope that helps, Jiri
