Converting java files to executable files

I want to turn my written code into an executable file that can be sent to someone who does not have a compiler and can still run it. I asked my professor about it and he said that there was a program that you could download that would do this for you. Does anyone know of a program and where I can download it from?

I want to turn my written code into an executable file that can be sent to someone who does not have a compiler and can still run it.
From that the statement above I suggest you quit asking the moron, aka professor anything. So that someone who does not have a compiler!!! What !!!! That is stupid. Obviously you meant, does not have the JRE installed. And that has nothing to do with an exe for windows. You can sort of be forgiven, being a student, but this idiot should have set you straight when you asked the question. Get your money back and go somewhere else......

  • Can we convert Java ByteCodes into Executable Independent Files?

    Hi there!
I have been bragging to my clients the benefits of Java Applications, but one thing I couldn't convince them is the use of a JVM. They dislike the idea of downloading the JRE, and the slowness of programs running in an interpreter. I am stumped for not being able to satisfy their need for a .EXE program on their Win32 systems. And, it would be ridiculous to go back again to C++, after learning Java.
Is their a tool or a way to convert .CLASS files into .EXE(Win32) files, to make it execute faster and independent? I know it would sacrifice portability, but I have to give in to demands. As they say it, "The customers are always right." Please, anybody out there, shed some light for me on this one. Thanx in advance.

What you need to address more than anything is the supposed slowness of java programs. The question at hand is slow as compared to what? In what context? A benchmark can be twisted to show whatever the author of the report wants it to show. Thus I tend to distrust such statistics in general due to the economical influence of the author or comissioner of the report being in the business of trying to sell something. Exactly what are they calling slow and what causes this perception on their part? I wouldn't sidestep the issue, or try to B.S. about it, but I'd be willing to bet that their fears are unfounded and based on superstition and hearsay.

  • How can I convert Java file into an XML file

I have a requirement to save a GUI screen developed in Java as UIML(it is xml based language).
So could anybody help me with how to do this transformation.
    thanks
    JhonMathew

Actually UIML is XML based technology which is used to represent language independent User Interface. It stores all the information like what all comopnents are present where they are located on screen and what action is called when user clicks on some items on screen like button.
All this information is stored in structured manner in XML(UIML). So if we have UIML representation of some screen then we can render it in any GUI specific language like HTML, WML, swing etc using language specific renderers and transformers.
In my case I have swing screen and I have to transform all that information in UIML. Could you please let me know how to start on this

  • How to make exe files from java files

Ohhh, so you thought you were going to answer that question? Well I already know the answer, i.e. all the tricks with the jar files or the programs which convert java programs into executable programs.
The reason why I asked this question was to start a discussion concerning question which are frequently asked in the forums. Wouldnt it be nice to have like statistics over the most faq here, and of course one or several pages with the answers to these questions? This would solve 2 problems:
    1) The person who wants to ask the question can find the answer and the solution quickly.
    2) The forums would not be packed with the same questions all the time.
I mean, you must admit that the questions regarding exe files are asked a lot of times.
    Happy coding to ya all!

Yeah thats my point! these questions should be moved
to a special page, where the answer to theam areDid you the whole message? I said there are FAQs.

  • How to convert class files into java files??

    Hey Guys,
    I need a little help.
I want to know wheather we can view .class files as .java files or convert the .class to .java files. Is ther any tool or software for doing that.
Or in other words can i see the source code of any .class file..??
Plz do tell me if we can do that or any other way we can do that.
    Regds,
    Gokul

Sort of. A "decompiler" will take a class file and generate a source code file of source code that could be compiled to get the class file you started out with. However, it won't be the same source code that was originally used to create the class. Most notably, comments will be missing, and variable names will probably be meaningless.
And before you say "java is bad because you can decompile it", note that any language that you can execute you can theoretically decompile.
Also, you can view the raw byte codes. If you're familiar with assembly language, or better yet familar with java bytecodes and the JVM in particular, you can often find out what a particular method does just by viewing the byte codes.

tell me the solution for it... i want to generate machine dependent exe from java file...on the web i ve seen that GCC/GCJ is used on linux platform..not cleared properly..
Again i m writing my question
Is it possible to convert Java to EXE and run this EXE file without any JRE if yes then how... tell me the procedure to do that...

    Vipul wrote:

By creating a native executable you are restricting the program to the OS for which that native executable was made, just like removing the engine from a car restricts driving to downhill only. So like the I said, the principle remains the same, "Why would you want to?"
I am asking you, truthfully, why do you feel the need to negate the largest advantage of using Java by creating a native executable from it?
    What is your rationale?
I can pretty much guarantee there is a much better way of achieving your wish without "removing the engine".

  • How to convert java .class file to .dll file

    hi,
I got a problem, I have to convert my java .class file to .dll file. Microsoft VC++ program will invoke the converted .dll file.
    Is there any other possibility.
    I was confused.
Cam any body help me. If you are having solution for the can you send to my [email protected] account.
    thanks,

No, it is not possible to do what you are suggesting. Yes, you could produce a DLL that wraps the JVM and loads your java class exposing a C and/or C++ callable interface, but that is a lot to go through unless your class is VERY complex. Otherwise, you might want to just create and maintain two implementations.

  • Convert .class files into .java files???

Does anybody know how to convert x.class file back to a x.java file. Or in other terms, extract .java files from a jarfile??
    Thanks for any help
    /carlos

Does anybody know how to convert x.class file back to a x.java file.As Dr.Clap said, that's decompiling.
Or in other terms, extract .java files from a jarfile??That isn't quite the same thing. You can decompile a .class that's in a jar, but a .class file doesn't have to be in a jar and a file in a jar isn't necessarily a .class.

  • How can i execute "*.java " files in Workshop

    Hi,
Im sunil, new to this weblogic workshop8.1..i dont know how to execute standalone .java files or servlets in workshop.plz help me and tell the way.
    regards
    Budati sunil

Im not too sure about the Java project. But single normal java files with public static void maain(String [] args) are very simple to execute.
    1. Write the java code somewhere lets call this class A.
    2. Make a dummy page flow.
    3. In the begin action of this pageFlow, call the main method of the A class directly using A.main(null) since main is a static method. your code will work fine.
    4. If you have to pass a String[] as parameters. Before calling main, create this String[] and then pass it.
In this way you can make a jsp and take the input from the user also.
    Hope it helps

  • Converting Java class file to .dll

    Dear all,
Is there any way to convert a Java class file to a .dll file?
(Background being that there is a software that only allows callouts to DLLs and the method I have developed is in Java so need to convert it to a .dll)
    Any insight/advice/pointers are most appreciated.
    Thanks much,
    David

    Hi there,
Yes you can convert a Java Class to DLL file using Microsoft Visual J#.NET (Installation required Visual Studio.NET) you can download it from the microsoft site.
    www.microsoft.com/downloads
then go for search below in combo box(Visual J#.NET). After installation open new project select class library. write your java code(not fully supported j2se). build your application. All the Java Code is embeded in dll. Found at e.g. C:/JavaToDll/bin/debug/JavaToDll.dll This is a way to convert Java Code to a dll. frankly speaking i do not like .NET (copy of Java Technology must be baned completely).
    Thanks
Please correct if i am wrong.

  • How to convert .doc file into .rtf file in Java?

    Hello All,
I want to convert doc file into rtf format in java and for the same i am not getting any help so pls suggest some solution for that.
    Thanks and Regards
    only1Vinay

MS-Word formats (DOC) are notorious for not being standardized from one version to another, so what ever you get will be version specific. If you must do the conversion, I suggest you do a MS-Script in Word to do it or one of the .Net languages. As stated the Word format from version to version is not standardized.
