I want to create a LOV with a cookie value in the where clause. How can I do it?

In which application are you checking for the cookie? If it's the first application, then I'd expect it to be there. If it's the second application, then it would only be available if they are on the same domain/path - eg if the first one is on forums.oracle.com/forums and the second one is on forums.oracle.com/downloads then the second application will not see the first one's cookies.
If your applications are within the same workspace, you have access to a table in that workspace and can set a value there in the first application and retrieve it in the second application.
You can pass values in the url to a second application, use the following format:
http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=20297:1:::::PROJ:456
If possible, though, you should try to store the value on a database table as the user has access to update the url so could, potentially change the PROJ value

Multilingual LOV based on a cookie chosen language

I have a multilingual application where I have to show several LOV (AF:seletOneChoice) fields.
The values shown by the LOVs depend on the language the user has chosen. If the user has chosen English, the LOV values must be shown in English. It he chooses Spanish, the LOV values must be shown in Spanish.
The values for this LOVs are recorded in database internationalized tables like this: CODE, IDI_CODE (BOTH PK) AND DESCIRPTION.
I have VO that retrieves these desription in all the languages.
The language chosen by the user is recorder in a Session Managed Bean.
I have seen that I can assign multiple LOVs to one field (one per language for exmple) or I can use a bind variable in the View Accessor of the LOV, but they always have to be mapped to a VO column, not a Managed bean attribute.
How do I do this ?
I have also thought in creating new VOs (only one per LOV) with bind variables and assign values to this bind varaibles (the language) at the beginning of the application. Then, for these user the LOVs will always display the description in the language selected at the beginning of the application.

I think that showing information in a selectonechoice component from a multilingual table -selecting by the language chosen by the user- should be a usual functionality.
I haven't been able to implement it yet, but a best practice or at least a procedure to do it should be very appreciate.
I have read a lot of documentation about LOV, viewcriteria, etc and I have make some tests but at the moment I'm not able to get it.
The test case is this: Imagine a table whose PK is CODE+LANGUAGE and an additional column DESCRIPTION.
Imagine you have in these table some description about countries. Every country description is in English, Spanish and French.
When your user logs in your application, you know (in a manage bean that reads a cookie) the prefered language of this user.
Then you have to show him a page with a selectonechoice of countries. In this SOC you only have to show him the countries description in the language hi has chosen (in the managed bean). If the user prefers english, then all records with LANGUAGE='ENG' should be displayed in the SOC.
That it is. So simple but at the moment It seems impoosible to me to implement in ADF.
I have tried to add a binding variable in the base VO, but when this VO is defined as a ViewAccessor it detects the binding variable of the base VO (in the Edit view Accessos dialog), and you have to put some value for this bind variable in the "Bind parameter values" block. If you don't do this, although previously programmatically you assign a value to the binding variable, when the SOC is displayed it resets the binding variable and looses the value previously assigned by the program.
I have also tried with a view criteria+binding variable but it happens exactly the same and for the same reason: The "Edit View accessor" also detects the binding variable when you select the available view criteria and it resets it to the value assigned in this page. But in this page you can not assigned a managed beaen attribute to the binding variable, only an VO attribute ! If you don't punt any value, then a null is assigned althoug the biding variable has a previously programmatically assigned value.
I have also tried to create one viewcriteria to filter every possible language (in my case only three) and assign it at the beginning of the application, but the "Edit view accessos" page ask for the viewcriteria you want to assign to the lov and if you don't choode any, then it resets again and show all records deactivatingthe view criteria you have previously/programmaticaly assigned.

Love my new ipad. But after upgrading to ios7 Safari became dodgy. Now it is frozen in a white screen and nothing will free it. Everything else on the ipad works fine. I deleted data, history, cookies, etc. Same problem. No change after power down.

Everything worked fine on my new ipad. After I upgraded to ios7 it still worked fine even if it looked very different. But Safari started acting strangely (it is starting the same thing on my iPhone 4s, too). Finally, it froze in state with no URL, no keyboard will come up, I can get Safari to close and start, but not actually function. I went into settings and deleted all the cookies, data, history, and so forth. Same state. I powered down the iPad and restarted. Same state. I tried a trick were I held down the button to bring up the power down stripe and then holding down the home button. Same state.
What can I do? Can I delete Safari and re-install it somehow? Should I take it to an Apple store?

When I go to a website it says I must have cookies enabled to shop. I do accept all cookies, why does it not let me in? error: BadCookie.aspx

On many websites I am unable to shop and fill a cart because it says I do not accept cookies. I have tried clearing everything and my settings accept all cookies forever. I LOVE COOKIES!

Everytime I open FFox I find over 400 cookies on my machine despite clearing history, deleting them etc - please help me eliminate them I think they are killing my computer!

on opening FFox, I routinely run Tools/View Cookies and clear my Error Console. I INVARIABLY find over 400 cookie directories arranged in two "lists". I clear them with Delete All Cookies and carry on.
I have tried limiting cookie access (ie: no 3rd party), and I have cleared my History including Cookies, BUT everytime I open FFox, they are all back!
I have even installed a Mozilla Cookie Killer plug-in, but though it may work, the little buggers are back the very next time I open FFox.
I believe their presence is seriously degrading my old but much loved Dell Inspiron 6400's performance and I would dearly love to be able to remove them permanently.
If you could help I would be very grateful.

That's going to be a ridiculous waste of money and energy.
First of all, the current ATI drivers don't support multiple GPUs, so at the moment even a single 4870X2 would be only a 'normal' 4870 (which is quite a speed beast already). GFX drivers evolve rapidly, so things might look different next month, but when it comes to Linux and hardware there's one Golden Rule: stay away from the newest stuff and wait for proper support to get coded.
I also wonder what power supply could possibly cope with the differences between idle and full load; that's way beyond 400W. But then, I'm one of those "quiet&green" types where >100W idle is already a bit much.
I kind of understand that you want to get it done and not worry about hardware for the next 10 years or so, but that's simply not how the hardware world works and never did. At least not for the average consumer.

How can I get Safari to prompt for cookies?

I've always used Firefox, but would love to move to Safari for its iCloud integration, but it's a major frustration and a deal breaker that it doesn't provide an option to prompt for setting cookies. Every other major browser does. What's the deal?
Does anyone know of an extension that will prompt me to accept or reject cookies before they're set? Is there a Terminal command I can run? Anything?
I take my privacy seriously. Unless I am logging into a site, I have no desire to accept a cookie, especially from Google or Facebook who will sell their grandmother if they could make enough money and get away with it.

At least in the first one (which is free) all it seems to do is let me delete cookies after the fact or on quitting and manually set cookies as favorites. But not setting something as a favorite doesn't seem to prevent the cookies from getting set, which seems to defeat the whole purpose.
I don't want some big, complicated mess or a pile of features that I have to fiddle with in every browser session. I just want this to work like it does in Firefox, or Chrome, or Opera, or any other browser. Prompt when a site tries to set a cookie and let me accept it or reject it. If I reject it, it stays rejected until I reset Safari. Why is that so difficult?
I wish Apple would get over it's obsessive phobia of anything approaching an advanced feature or interface element and just make things work again.

As it is, Safari won't prompt for cookies.
The settings are available in Safari > Preferences > Privacy

Cookies are enabled but the commands are not stored as the problem is continuous.You return to the change window and see that the settings reverted to default.How do I make this change stick?

A visited website says cookies need to be enabled for me to proceed.I follow the advice from Firefox and check the appropriate boxes under privacy and exit. When I try to login the same error message comes up so I repeat the routine and try again.The change is not retained as I see the default settings when I return to the page. I would love to see an APPLY button there to ensure the change will be made before clicking OK.

I have a survey created with Google Docs. It uses cookies to tell if a user has already submitted an answer to a survey.
It seems to me that these cookies are not stored with web content overlays (I've used the direct URL to the survey as input).
Am I right? Is there a way to make the cookie thing work?

Is this procedure still available in 9iAS and RDBMS 8.1.6 ? I am trying to get it to work, and I keep getting "ORA-00942: table or view does not exist". The owner of this package is "SYS". I even tried prefixing the table name in the SQL string passed to calendarprint with the owner, and it still gave me this error. Does this have anything to do with the invoker rights model ? I need to set up a web calendar and would love to use this functionality...
What gives ?

Sticking Safari cookies but they are not there in Web Inspector

Hi,
Now I’ve got the Safari 5.1.10 update (OS X 10.6.8) and still have the same problem as with several versions before, I think it’s even worse now:
When surfing I’m used to “Safari / Reset Safari…” (with all options set to delete but website icons) to start from scratch from time to time.
This will delete cookies and local cache, too, although it’s not clearly mentioned (?).
My start page is google.co.uk and checking with the “Privacy” tab I usually see three items from Google.
I think that would be OK.
But:
a) Sometimes there are still cookies / cache from sites that I have visited before,
and
b) Sometimes even after Privacy / “Remove All”
(Cookies.plist is empty and Safari/LocalStorage folder is deleted now)
and another Safari “Reset” some will return (e.g wikipedia.org, Local Storage, but also cookies from news or amazon or local storage use by apple.com).
When I check using the Web Inspector / Resources there are no such elements to find, only from Google - but the “Preferences / Privacy” tab seems to know about them and they are back in Cookies.plist and Safari / LocalStorage ???
c) Sometimes (I know, that’s bad), even when I reset + close Safari, open an other application, start Safari again - bang, several items (often more than before) are listed there but only Google is to be seen in the Web Inspector (screenshot 1).
d) After closing the Web Inspector and “Remove All” I start the Web Inspector again, just to see e.g. a “cookie folder” from Google but it’s stating “This site has no cookies” (screenshot 2), and there are none in Safari. How would the Web Inspector know about google cookies (or local storage), only to show an empty “folder”?
I really love Safari, I’d simply like to “flush” it from time to time when surfing.
1) Is it my misunderstanding of Safari cookies / cache? Or the Web Inspector’s display?
2) Why only “sometimes” (this point is most annoying)?
3) How could I dig deeper (but I’m not a techie ! ), or
4) Is this a known bug since years (Safari and / or Web Inspector), I didn’t find a similar topic here in the forums?

Yes, I did search before but restricted it to the past month, because I had the feeling that it’s worse now since the update to 5.1.10, but I may be wrong.
It seems this is an old and unsolved common problem.

“Top Sites” is hot, but I’ve never used that funny dots without any mouse-over text.
After deleting (before starting Safari) it’s restored by a default TopSites.plist, it seems these cookies
- are only reloaded when viewing the Top Sites (?)
- are not among my reappearing cookies, I have never seen such a cookie / cache on my system before (e.g. expedia, orbitz, monster, usatoday, disney, craigslist).
And Top Sites would not explain why the Web Inspector has different infos regarding use of cookies and local storage than Safari’s “Privacy” tab.
After playing with deleting TopSites.plist, without surfing, suddenly I have ”121 cookies or other data” at Safari’s Privacy tab, nearly all are listed as “Cache” or “Cache, Cookies” but the Web Inspector doesn’t show any of them, only my google.co.uk items.

Safari won't accept cookies

Hi all,
Past few days I have tried going to websites that require cookies but I am unable to access them. They report that my browser has cookies off even though cookies are enabled in the Settings app. I have tried deleting cache, cookies, history. Toggled the switch several times. Still no love.
I read some people have problems with cookies disappearing after closing the browser but at this point I cannot get Safari to accept them at all.
Any ideas?

How can I make Ipad4 stay "on" when cooking and checking online recipes?

Hi,
I love cooking and baking from online sites with my IPad in the kitchen.
Whenever I cook and then return to check on the recipe, it has gone to sleep and needs password etc.
I understand that the sleep time can be adjusted, but it suits me well for all other activities, so I was hoping that I could set a particular time for this particular activity.
Too much to ask for, or does anyone know?

I'm running 10.6.8 on Mac and Firefox 28. Most embedded videos on random sites and all on Upworthy and Youtube show as a black box. I've deleted cookies and

I've deleted cache and cookies. I've seen all the real player threads (isn't that Windows, anyway?) and they didn't help.
I'm running the most updated java and quicktime I can. I ran FIrefox in safe mode. I reset it and added back quick time, silverlight, java, shockwave, flipformac, and adblock plus. No difference with them disabled.
Is this because I'm on a 32 bit processor? I can use chrome for some sites to see videos. Safari is a disaster, don't even get me started. I'm trying to hang on until I upgrade but find I can see hardly any videos anymore. I love firefox and want to keep using it. Thanks!

There have been issues reported with the 13.0.0.182 version of the Flash plugin crashing on some older Mac computers due to the compiler generating incompatible code.
The only way to recover is to uninstall the Flash 13 version and revert to an older Flash version and wait for Adobe to release an update that addresses this issue.

Safari 5.0.5 OSX not remembering cookie settings after reboot

Hi everyone,
I'm having a very frustrating issue lately with Safari 5.0.5 on my MBP with OSX 10.6.7...
I want to have my cookie settings under Preferences -> Security -> Accept Cookies to permanently be "Only from sites I visit". When I started Safari, and set that setting, it will remember the setting for the entire machines' session. However, if I reboot, or shutdown/restart my Mac, it will revert to the Always setting.
I have tried trashing the Safari plist file under ~/Library/Preferences/, and trashing the associated caches.db file as well, hence resetting Safari, with no success.
Any advice on this would be greatly appreaciated!

I just tried to temporarily remove Safari Cookies, and I'm sad to say the old issue re-occured as soon as the add-on gets uninstalled.
It seems also, that after launching Safari for the first time after a reboot and going into Safari Preferences fast enough before the add-on launches, the setting is still incorrect, but then gets modified by Safari Cookies.
I went and checked my Login Items, but there's nothing there that can affect Safari; the list hasn't changed in a long time. I don't have folders .../InputManagers or .../ScriptingAdditions under Home/Library.
Under .../LaunchAgents, I have the following:

I am using Application Express 4.1.
I want to open the popup window of a popup LOV item when I click on a button which is on the same page.
The URL of the popup LOV window looks like:

I managed to build this URL but I am missing the end of it:

Does anyone know where this 'NATIVE%3D0BF14BB1E17791744D35BEBACED33B707AF740A5D0F8159D03641E52D40C81C9' come from? It is different every time I log into the application.
What I am trying to do here is to have a button next to a text with autocomplete item that opens a POPUP LOV. That is why I need this URL.

Sorry indeed I did not write back earlier but I got bizzy inaugurating an iMac I just bought on ebay. Quite a change from my ole' Ti !!!
Even when I try to open a recent stream and do Ctrl+U, it stays blank. I use this procedure to copy the url of streaming sequences on the web that cannot be read on QT to paste them into i.e. wmp. And that's not possible anymore. I downloaded a new version from QT, but there a cookie or something with the pro version I bought that re-installs the same flaw over & over. When I go to the register menu, the license n° is already there, and I cannot get rid of my scewed up version.
Now about this page code thing, I can't believe one cannot choose the reader he wants ! I don't know how to work on page codes. I want to the internet plug-ins in the library & removed the qt file, but no dice, I'm condamned to use only qt in safari or firefox!
