Cookie Issues...I think

Ok, I frequent a certain forum and am having some issues that I think are cookie related. When I attempt to log in to the forum, I get an message confirming that I'm logged in and then it redirects me to the original page and I'm not logged in. I thought it was the forum issue and contacted the admins and they said the prob should be fixed, nothing, same problem. I asked other Mac, Safari users on there if they had any issues and no one had any issues. The only way I've figured out how to get logged on is to reset Safari, empty cache and clear cookies. This works but is aggravating b/c it clears other info on other sites that I have to re-enter to log on to other sites.
Any ideas on what could be my prob?

I've had the same problem with a couple of forums that I have tried to subscribe to. In one case, setting the browser to allow pop-ups worked. Apparently their log-in process makes use of a pop-up window that Safari had been blocking.

  • Webdynpro ABAP webservice call to external server  - Cookie issue

    Hi,
    We are experiencing cookie issue while calling webservice to Tivoli system hosted on IBM websphere.
    Steps we have done as follows:
    1. Created a ABAP Proxy class from Tivoli WSDL.
    2. Configured T-Code LPCONFIG to point to above proxy class and logical port.
    3. Configured  SM59 RFC connection to point to Tivoli server using basic authentication mechanism (User ID/Password).
    4. Called webservice method from WebDynpro ABAP program.
    After above steps, we are able to call the webservice method successfully but second time we are experiencing Cookie being adding to the request and eventually no response back to our program.
                When we investigated this cookie issue with IBM Websphere people, they says thay have enabled SSO Config instead of basic authentication and that's why a cookie is being added to the request and fails. when they disabled SSO, we are able to call webservic method sucessfully sevaral times. but now this cannot be no longer disabled as other applications are using SSO enable option. So, we are thinking, is there something that can be done in SAP ECC itself as we see the option of using SSO in SM59 instead of User Id/Password but not sure How?
    If anybody has undergone this scenario/SSO config from ECC SM59 successfully, Please reply back.
    Thanks in advance
    Praveen

    Here is the link that explains how SSO can be configured in SAP.

    Once done, under Client PSE in Tcode STRUST, you can upload the certificate obtained from the SSO enabled system and use the client PSE (Default)  in the SSL Client Certificate area of SM59
    I see Thomas has already responded to you and he has written a blog on how to set this up as well.

  • Cookie Issues in uzbl- uzbl-cookie-daemon

    I have two gmail accounts, one of which I rarely use. On the gmail login page, the less used account name seems to be permanently set in the Username field. Clicking the "sign in as a different user" link below that doesn't work, it brings me back to the login page with my alternate username filled in and unchangeable. I think this may be a cookies issue, and I don't see any cookies saved by uzbl anywhere, but I'd like to know how to restart the cookies daemons or clear the cookies. Again, I'm not sure what the issue is, so any suggestions are welcome.

    So I'm still having this problem. uzbl-cookie-daemon seems to be malfunctioning somehow, but I've yet to find a way to view its output to see if I can spot the problem. Whenever I try to visit certain sites, the process "python /usr/bin/uzbl-cookie-daemon -v start" takes up a large part of my cpu and uzbl locks up. I've been unable to get more info than that, aside from the fact that killing the daemon allows me to access the sites in question.

  • MapViewer integrated in Apex - Securing MapViewer Cookie Issue

    Hello,
    I'm trying to secure my Mapviewer accesses. My MapViewer is contained in an apex page. As said in documentation (1.8.2) I have to used cookie to pass username(or what I want to authenticate the user) to the database. For doing this I have to put a package in my map schema and to configure datasource to use it.
    Package code(nothing special) :
    create or replace
    PACKAGE BODY web_user_info AS
    w_name VARCHAR2 (32767);
    PROCEDURE set_user(p_name IN VARCHAR2)
    AS
    BEGIN
    INSERT INTO TABLE1 VALUES('set machin');
    COMMIT;
    INSERT INTO TABLE1 VALUES('set_user:'||p_name);
    COMMIT;
    w_name := LOWER (p_name);
    END;
    PROCEDURE clear_user
    AS
    BEGIN
    INSERT INTO TABLE1 VALUES('clear machin');
    COMMIT;
    INSERT INTO TABLE1 VALUES('clear_user:'||w_name);
    COMMIT;
    w_name := null;
    END;
    FUNCTION get_user RETURN VARCHAR2
    AS
    BEGIN
    RETURN w_name;
    END;
    END web_user_info;
    Datasource definition :
    <map_data_source name="cuc"
    jdbc_host="localhost"
    jdbc_sid="xxxxx"
    jdbc_port="1521"
    jdbc_user="xxx"
    jdbc_password="xxxxxxxxxxxxx"
    jdbc_mode="thin"
    number_of_mappers="3"
    allow_jdbc_theme_based_foi="true"
    plsql_package="web_user_info"
    />
    It works like that except that it return J2EE authentication(oc4jadmin). set_user and clear_user are well executed.
    Cookie Issue :
    To make this work with cookie information I have to add a attribute to the datasource definition :
    web_user_type="LOGIN_USERNAME_COOKIE"
    This cookie is present in my apex page, details :
    Name     LOGIN_USERNAME_COOKIE
    Value     the_name
    Domaine (host)     localhost
    Chemin d'accès (path)     /apex/
    Sécurisé     non
    Expire le     À la fin de la session
    It doesn't work with my cookie, the clear_user is well executed but set_user is no more executed.
    Did someone already get through the cookie authentication feature ?

    yes i checked this site, but i still couldn't reach the answer of my challenge, in how to specify urlParamNQID and urlParamSID , how or where i can get value of these parameters or what should i pass there !?

  • OS X log in cookie? It thinks I am logged in but I am not! I can't log in!

    Hello, please help me!
    I'll try to be concise.
    After plugging in a USB microphone [that i normally use woithout problem] my mac froze up. I waited 5 minutes then held the power button [mac mini] in to force a restart. Afterwards when i try to log in I get the following message;—
    you are unable to log in to the user account "username" at this time
    after a few tries i sed the master password to change the account password—which worked. I know this because the new password gives the response;--
    you are unable to log in to the user account "username" at this time
    ...whereas the old password or wrong password gets the shaky window. So the password is being changed.
    I have a 2nd admin account that i never use. I logged into it and repaired the permissions, but it didn't help.
    All my stuff is in the 1st user account!
    ***I have searched the web and read about how it might be that a type of cookie exists when I am logged in. And that OS X thinks I am still logged in ....thus the error message. There was talk of using terminal and command line stuff —which I've never tried before—to delete/change this cookie, and therefore solve the problem.
    By the way, both my accounts are admin acounts and both use filevault.
    The photos from my young daughter's birthday are on there, besides a million other things.
    If someone knows this situation already and can help me, I will be over the moon and back up daily from now on...I promise!!

    Thanks for the link, appears somebody was confused by it though & did a no-no...
    Hello, I have delete the sparseimage file in /Users/.<username>. and reboot, it still said 'You are unable to log in to the user account "username" at this time'.
    Now from my 2nd link, but once you get it open you can copy stuff to this account...
    1. Log out of your current (FileVault-protected) account.
    2. Log in with an account other than the one whose home directory image you want to verify or repair. You can create a new administrator account in Accounts preferences if there isn't already another one you can use.
    3. From the Finder's Go menu, choose Go To Folder.
    4. Type "/Users/" and click Go.
    5. You'll see folder icons for each user account. Select the one that is FileVault-protected (you won't be able to open the folder yet), then choose Get Info from the Finder's File menu.
    6. Expand the "Ownership & Permissions" area at the bottom of the Get Info window by clicking the disclosure triangle. You should see "Owner:" set to the shortname of the protected account.
    7. Click the small lock icon that's right of the "Owner" field.
    8. Enter your administrator name and password.
    9. Change the Owner pop-up menu to your current account's short name. The Access menu (under Owner) should change to "Read & Write"; if not, change that menu manually.
    10. Close the Get Info menu.
    11. Back in the Users window, you should be able to open the folder named after the FileVault-protected account and see the ".sparseimage" file inside.
    12. Select the ".sparseimage" file (you won't be able to open it), then choose Get Info from the Finder's File menu.
    13. Expand the "Ownership & Permissions" area at the bottom of the Get Info window by clicking the disclosure triangle. You should see "Owner:" set to the shortname of the protected account.
    14. Click the small lock icon that's right of the "Owner" field.
    15. Enter your administrator name and password.
    16. Change the Owner pop-up menu to your current account's short name. The Access menu (under Owner) should change to "Read & Write"; if not, change that menu manually.
    17. Close the Get Info menu.
    18. Double-click the ".sparseimage" image file. Enter the account's password when prompted. Note: If you do not know the password and mount the image, you may not be able to verify and repair in Disk Utility.
    19. In Disk Utility, the ".sparseimage" disk image file should appear on the left side.
    20. Select the disk image in Disk Utility.
    21. Click the First Aid tab.
    22. Click the Verify or Repair disk button, as desired. Note: If the image has issues than cannot be repaired, you may need to transfer files to a different location as discussed in this article.
    23. When finished, quit Disk Utility.
    24. Unmount (eject) the mounted disk image volume.
    25. Get Info on the .sparseimage disk image file again, and change the owner back to the original account name. Note: If this is not done, your Home may not be available when logging in as the protected account.
    26. Get Info in the enclosing folder in /Users again, and change the owner back to the original account name. Verify that this is successful by closing and trying to open the account name folder (you shouldn't be able to).
    27. Log out and log back in as the original, FileVault-protected account.

  • Safari 6 Cookie Issues

    Hi, I am having a weird issue with Safari 6 on Mountain Lion.
    I set Safari to Block Cookies "From third parties and advertisers", but every so often when I return to the tab under Safari's preferences the option has swich to block cookies "never."
    The other day I actually clicked the "privacy" pane and the moment the dialog appeared the option swiched from Block third parties to never.  I have changed it back several times, but it doesn't stay.  This is weird and frightning.  I have run 5 Security scans: ClamXav, Bitdefender, iAntivirus, Avast, and Virus Barrier and none of them have detected anything.
    What do you think is causing this?

    I can reproduce this issue. I captured movie that my reproducing the problem. You can see it from the following:

  • No MYSAOSSO Cookie issued by Portal

    Hello folks,
    I'm not sure where to post this topic exactly.
    We are running EP6 on WebAS Java 6.40 Netweaver 04 SR1.
    We have the problem that when we logon to the Portal, no MYSAPSSO Cookie is issued. But otherwise when we logon on the Web Application Server directly a MYSAPSSO Cookie is issued correctly.
    I know that i have to configure the Security Providers correctly with the Visual Administrator. The ticket Template is configured as described in SAP Security guide.
    My question: I think that the Portal Logon uses a  different application as the Logon on the WEB Application Server, but i don't know which application in the Security Providers is responsible for the Portal Logon. If someone can tell me that I hope to be able to configure the Portal to issue tickets.
    Any ideas ? Or other suggestions what I can do ?
    Ciao Francesco

    Hi Markus,
    Were u able to figure out the problem? We are also having the same problem.
    not getting the mysapss02 cookie in IE, but the portal is issuing cookie when using Firefox.
    I appreciate your help.
    Thanks,

  • Transparency flattening issue (I think)

    Hi all,
    I'd appreciate your help with this.  I've tried researching this through the forum yet still find myself confused.  I think it's a transparency flattening issue, but I'm unsure of how to fix it, and even at what point to fix it.
    I designed this for a magazine ad in InDesign CS2 and exported to PDF.  The polaroids have drop shadows, which look fine on screen:
    But when I print I get these ugly "borders" where the transparencies are:
    Can't get rid of them, except by printing the PDF as an image.
    My questions are:
    1) Assuming this is a transparency issue, how do I fix this?  I've read about transparency presets on the forum, but (please forgive my lameness) I'm not sure how to actually apply them.
    2) At what point do I fix this?  I mean, as a best practice, is this something that's addressed inside InDesign, or during the export from InDesign, or when printing the PDF?  It looked fine in the magazine so obviously they were able to fix it, but I'd still like to know what I'm doing wrong to save them extra work in the future.
    I have Adobe CS2 and Acrobat 7 Pro on a Windows XP Pro.
    Many thanks for your help,
    Ed

    That's quite a color shift, too, on the background which seems like more than you'd see from a poor image capture of the printed piece.
    I bet you are using a spot color. Unless you are actually paying to have that spot color printed in the magazine (if they even would), you shouldn't be using it. Make sure you go into the ink manager and convert all spots to process, or replace any spot colors with process colors. You should be the one handling the color conversion, and using process color will simplify the flattening, I think.

  • Vid card issues I think??

    Good day, I'm having some major issues with my card "I think"
    When playing MOH Pacific Assault, Battlefield Vietnam, and Doom3 my sys locks up and/or I get major video corruption. I have tried updating all of the drivers forward and backward and no luck  . One error that I get says that the Vid card got stuck in a loop. I have gone to the Nvida and EA site and no help. The only thing that I found was that their is a known issue with MOB running with Nforce 3 chips and to uninstall the GART driver "No idea how???" Here is the post on that, some of it doesn't apply (ATI, Punk Buster,
    "This combination of hardware has been reported to freeze gameplay, and is due to a combination of these hardware elements. Resolving this issue has become a stalemate between ATI, Nvidia and Evenbalance. Here is some information which may help you address this issue:
    Problem does not occur on non-Punkbuster servers.
    This problem seems specific to WinXP.
    Removal of the Nvidia GART Driver clears this problem up.
    Reverting to ATI's 3.9 seems to clear this up for some.
    Reducing the AGP aperture size reduces the amount of delay.
    Decreasing the PB scan frequency with pb_sleep decreases the frequency of the freezes.
    Changing from an ATI to Nvidia card seems to have eliminated problems for many users."
    Any idaes???? Thanks..

    Hi,
    I wouldn't remove the GART driver.  I have a NF3/6800 Ultra OC setup and I disabled fastwrites in my system bios to resolve loops and freezes.  The combo works wonders now!
    Good Luck,
    You want to try the easiest solutions first and turning off fast writes would be a good place to start as suggested. If it is not implemented properly it can cause instability.
    There are also a few other settings that should be in there you can try messing with such as AGP Aperture, 4X or 8X...etc.
    I also would use 3DMark 2001 as a stability test. It pretty much runs with every video card and drivers out there. Using a game might not be a good idea because a lot of games have problems with certain drivers or certain cards. At least if it passed 3DMark you would have some idea its not the drivers, card or even gart.
    If it doesn't pass 3DMark then I would start looking at your motherboard drivers (GART). The chance of 3DMark not working with any version of Nvidia drivers is very slim unless they are corrupted.
    To uninstall the GART you would go into device manager and right click it and uninstall. Windows will restart and try to install drivers on it's own. You can cancel it by clicking on the icon in the system tray if your quick enough. (WinXP)
    Another way to do it, is just updating the drivers by again going into device manager, right clicking and this time picking update drivers.
    You should have the drivers you want to use on the computer somewhere like maybe the desktop.
    Another thing you can try is reinstaling DirectX, that is one of those easy things that doesn't hurt anything to try. Also make sure your video card is not overheating in the case. Open the case and have a house fan blowing on it while you try 3DMark or playing a game.
    One last thing when you look in device manager the GART might not be listed as GART, at least on my NF7-S it is not listed that way. The GART would be anything related to AGP under "System Devices"

  • Firewall issue I think

    Prior to fios router install was able to print wireless from laptop.  Now can still print wireless but only if desktop is turned on.  Previously could print irregardless of desktop being turned on or off.  I think I am able to print with desktop turned on because network recognizes laptop and printer.  With desktop turned off laptop cannot talk to printer.  Think the router firewall keeps the laptop from talking to the printer directly.  Need help.

    I took a look at the setup and users manuals from HP for the C4385 All In One Printer:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=sg&lang=en&product=3651156&
    I think that the easiest way would be to restore the printer to factory defaults and then run the Setup CD that came with the printer which will walk you thru setting it up wirelessly.  You will need the Network name (SSID) and Pass Code (WEEP Key ) from the sticker on the router.  You will need to run the CD from any PC or laptop that you want to print wirelessly with.
    Restore network defaults
    You can reset the network settings to what they were when you purchased the HP All-in-
    One.
    To restore network defaults
    1. Press the Wireless button on the front of the HP All-in-One.
    2. Press the button next to the icon on the display until Restore Network Defaults
    is highlighted, and then press the button next to OK.
    3. Confirm that you want to restore the network defaults.
    If you are the original poster (OP) and your issue is solved, please remember to click the "Solution?" button so that others can more easily find it.

  • Enable cookies issue

    I've just got a new 9320 curve and can't download any apps as it's telling me to enable coookies. I have read the suggestions of removing the battery while it is still switched on, leaving it for one minute and then reinserting it but this has not fixed the problem. Anyone any idea what I might be doing wrong please? I have 'accept cookies' ticked but don't actually have an option to 'enable cookies' so not sure if there's something else I need to do!!! Spot the technophobe!!

    Hi and Welcome to the Community!
    All of the references to "cookies" that I find relate to BES-enabled devices...is yours such? If so, then you need to talk to your BES admin as they control this.
    If you are not on BES, then it may be that your BB was at one time in it's life associated with BES...but was never properly cleansed. Please see this:
    KB30076 How to check for an IT Policy on a BlackBerry smartphone
    If there is a latent IT Policy on your BB and you are not on BES, then that must be removed to enable you to fully use your BB...the process of doing so is completely destructive to all that is on your BB now (data, apps, etc.), so please prepare by following the link in my auto-sig regarding good backup processes, and carry all of that out in preparation. Then, you can execute this:
    KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory settings using BlackBerry Desktop Software
    However, when you restore afterwards, DO NOT do a full restore...rather, just do a selective restore of only those databases you require, leaving out especially any to do with Enterprise, IT Policy, etc...if you do a full restore, you will put the IT Policy back onto your BB, and be right back where you started.
    Good luck!

  • EBay (only) cookie issues after 10.5.5 combo update

    On my MacBook Pro -- I am getting a message when trying to sign onto eBay that my ''browser is not accepting cookies...''
    At first I thought it was a Firefox issue, so then I tried Safari and same message.
    Both browsers are configured to accept cookies properly and were working seamlessly just a day ago.
    SO -- I also deleted the cache and the cookies on both browsers -- no luck.
    SO -- I went to my other Mac, A PowerPC G5 -- no luck -- same message on both Firefox and Safari.
    SO -- I ran trusty AppleJack (the new one that finally works with Leopard) -- on both machines (MacBook Pro and Power Mac G5) -- no luck.
    SO -- on the same network -- I went to the Windows XP machine (A Dell desktop) and I was able to sign on properly with no hitches.
    Therefore, since I seem to have eliminated the network, Windows XP, an Intel and PowerPC Macintosh, and have eliminated a specific browser issue -- I must assume there was some new security feature that the combo update for 10.5.5 has implemented that is causing this because that is the only thing that has changed in the last day. It's only eBay that seems to manifest this strange issue. Not PayPal. No other ''secure'' site.
    Anybody else having this issue? Any ideas?
    I'm not a ''dumb'' Mac user. I'm the kind who goes into the Genius bar with a problem, talks to them, stumps them and then proceeds to solve the problem by myself right in front of them. Do I have to make a trip into the city just to do this again...?

    Thanks. That helps narrow things down further. Now I know it's just me and just my Macintosh machines.
    I do have NetBarrier (Intego) installed on both machines, but neither is set up to filter cookies because NB does a lousy job of that. I have never had that feature turned on -- and it's still disabled properly. I do, however, have the NB firewall up and running -- but again -- everything worked perfectly up to ''the day after'' the 10.5.5 update. Perhaps there are more non-OS related updates coming for things like this.

  • Help with browser/cache Possible iCloud issue- I think

    A few months ago I built a website through Volusion.com.  I also bought my domain name through them: whisperingcreektradingpost.com
    Shortly afterward I became dissatisfied with their service and chose to move to Shopify.com
    In order to move my domain name, I had to transfer it to GoDaddy.com first and then follow Shopify instructions on how to have it point to my new store with them. IP address, etc.
    So I did all that, and for a little while it seemed okay, but periodically would still point to the old Volusion store.  Today, Shopify told me that I needed to make sure all the setting with them were set correctly and to also add the domain name without the “www” to the list of what would point to the domain name.
    Everything in Shopify is now set so that the following three items all point only to the main domain name whisperingcreektradingpost.com
    1. whisperingcreektradingpost.com
    2. www.whisperingcreektradingpost.com

    For the rest of the day and still tonight, I cannot get to my Shopify store at all.  Not on either of my desktops, laptop, two iPads, iPhone or iPod.  Everything on my network takes me to the old Volusion store when I type in that domain.  I even downloaded Chrome and tried that on the three computers, still no success.
    Even when I am in my admin section ON the Shopify website, when I input the data for a product, save it, then click the link to view in browser- it STILL takes me to the old Volusion site- even from INSIDE my Shopify admin!!!
    Over an hour on the phone with Shopify tech support did not clear it up.  I cleared the data on every device on every browser.  Restarted every device, etc.  My daughter is next door with her own internet service account and can bring up my new site with no problem.
    The internet service provider swears they cannot store anything like cookies or cache on the router so it is not on them, Shopify is able to get to my site with no problem.  They told me that their only job is to make sure I have a connection to the internet. Period.  And that the problem of not getting the ‘right one’ is not something they can help with and if they sent someone out to prove that I would be charged for the service call.
    Is it possible that there are cookies/cache on the iCloud that keeps putting the information back on my devices?  Is there some way that within my network they are all sending each other the case information before I can clear it?
    I am the only one, and every device on my network, that cannot get any browser to go to the new website instead of the old one.
    In addition, even with all the updates AND restarting several times, my internet connection is dragging something awful now.
    Help.
    I am very frustrated.

    The browser icon availability is controled by the carrier provisioning. Assuming that you have a BlackBerry specific data plan then your device is properly provisioned. All you should have to do to get the browser icon back is register your BlackBerry on the network.
    Go to Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table. Press the menu key and select Register Now. If the icon does not reappear after a minute or two them remove the battery for 10 seconds.
