Copy JMS (queue) message

          I have a MDB receiving messages from a queue on a MQ. In the onMessage method or
          some where down the thread, I want to send the same message to a different queue,
          also on a MQ. I tried to send it in the same thread or a new thread. It never
          seemed complain but the receiver never gets it. It's as if the message was never
          sent.
          What's preventing the messages being sent?
          I'm using WLS 8.1 and MQ 5.2.
          TIA,
          Bill

          It turns out only one attribute (messageID) seems to matter in this app so that's
          taken care of but it's obviously not a clean solution. "You do what you got to
          do."
          Thanks for the help.

  • Copying JMS Queues

    I am writing Weblogic Integration(WLI) applications. When I deploy these apps I have to create some JMS queues in the server or I get warning messages in the Weblogic console. I have several Weblogic 10.3 servers that I need to deploy these WLI apps too.
    I'm wondering if there is a way that I can copy the contents of the xml files that define the JMS queues from one server to another server? What files would need to be copied? I'm trying to find an easier way to create the JMS queues. Creating the queues in the console can get time consuming if you have alot of queues to create.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!.....
    John

    Hi John,
    There are multiple methods for automating WebLogic configuration, and WebLogic JMS (just like all other WebLogic subsystems), can be configured using almost any of them. Here are some:
    -- On-line or off-line WLST script
    -- Java program that makes JMX config mbean calls
    -- If the JMS dest config is absolutely identical, then you can simply copy the JMS module XML file to the different domains, and then use the console, WLST, or JMX to modify the config.xml in order to reference it. The module's contain destination config, while the config.xml contains subdeployment, store, and JMS server config.
    When working with multiple WebLogic domains, be careful to ensure that all domain names are different and all WebLogic server names are different (even if the WebLogic servers are in different domains). In addition, in certain cases all JMS server names must be different (even if they are in different domains -- applies to SAF feature apps that use cross-domain reply-to if I recall correctly).

  • JMS Queue Messages not picked up.

    Hello,
    We are facing below issue frequently, any help in this regard would be highly appreciated.
    We have 2 MDB's listening to the a queue on WLS 8.1 SP2. We are using Message Selector to identify which of the 2 MDB's should pick up the message.
    The issue is that if too many messages are queued up, then the MDB at times doesn't pick them up, even when free instances of MDB are available in the Bean Pool.
    But if we restart the server then all the messages are picked up instantly. Server restart acts as some kind of Trigger for the Queued Messages to be picked up instantly.
    We have been trying to explore as to why this happens, but havent still resolved it.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Even i have a similar kind of requirement where in, i want to clear the JMS Queue Message programmatically, on certain condition.
    i am using Spring JMS. The JMS Queue has a listener. In the listener we want to clear the Queue contents based upon the condition.
    If anybody has any idea about this, please reply back.

  • Change Directory/Folder of JMS xml messages

    Hi
    I have a requirement to change the directory where JMS queue messages (xml files) are located.
    Is this a simple configuration change or something more major?
    Can anyone give me any tips on how to proceed
    Thanks

    Thanks for your reply.
    I realise I didn't state my version earlier which is Weblogic 8.1.
    I'm not sure if it is the JMS module folder as my experience with Weblogic is very minimal.
    The folder I wish to change is where the JMS queues store the messages that have been posted to the queues.
    I believe this is known as the file store.
    Is it the config.xml file I need to change for this?
    Is there a web interface for version 8 to change this configuration?
    Thanks again

    Because JMS resources by the very nature are "undependable", I think it is usually not advisable to inject JMS resources into an EJB except for MDB source destinations. The problem with injection of JMS resources is that if the JMS resource is not available at the point the EJB is originally deployed/initialized, the EJB deployment/initializaition will fail (except for MDBs, which will still deploy if the source is down, and will automatically retry internally). This is goodness for many types of resources, but since JMS resources are not necessarily always available by their very nature (down for maintenance, in the middle of a migration, initializing later in the boot, etc), most messaging applications should be specifically designed to be robustly handle the failure case during runtime.
    Anyhow, EJB3 does not require descriptors.
    I haven't fully vetted the following samples, but I think they should be pretty close to correct.
    Sample MDB code:
    // MDB will still deploy even if the source destination is down (the container will keep retrying internally).
    @MessageDriven(mappedName = "Server1Q1",
                            activationConfig = {@ActivationConfigProperty(
                                                          propertyName = "connectionFactoryJndiName",
                                                          propertyValue = "Server1CF")})
    public class MyMDB implements MessageListener {
      @EJB
      private MyStateless myStateless;
      @TransactionAttribute(TransactionAttributeType.REQUIRED)
      public void onMessage(Message message) {
        System.out.println("Got the message, version 5: "+message);
        myStateless.completeWorkOrder();
    Sample injected JMS resources - no resource descriptors needed:
    @Stateless(mappedName="StatelessBean")
    public class MyStatelessBean implements MyStateless {
      int ctr;
      @Resource(mappedName="mdbq2")
      private Queue queue1;
      @Resource(mappedName="cfadmin2")
      private QueueConnectionFactory connectionFactory2;
    Sample pseudo-code for non-injected JMS resources, no resource descriptors needed:
    Eg, instead of
    @Resource(mappedName="cfadmin")
    private QueueConnectionFactory cf;
    Do this:
      // note the semi-colon!  turns off injection, note the type field -- required
      // I'm not sure of exact syntax
      //cfadmin is assumed to be the JNDI name if the
      // JNDI name isn't specified in another parameter...
      @Resource(mappedName="cfadmin", type="javax.jms.QueueConnectionFactory");
      // this is not injected now
      // cache cf for re-use (performance)
      private QueueConnectionFactory cf;
      @Resource
      private SessionContext sctx;  // inject the session ctx
    And in the source code itself, do this:
       int tryCount == 3;
       while (cf != null) {
         try {
           // not quite sure if this is the righ syntax, but I think "java:/comp/env" prefix
           // isn't needed for the new EJB3.0 session context
           cf = sctx.lookup("cfadmin");  //cfadmin is mappedname for resource above
         } catch (NNN n) {  // don't know the exact exception
           if (--tryCount == 0) throw n;
           sleep 3 seconds  // don't want to retry in a tight loop

  • How to keep a back up of messages from the JMS queues?

    Hi,
    I need to keep a back up of messages which are coming in the JMS queue before they get consumed. This is for recovery purpose.
    I checked file store option but it doesnt have any time stamp on messages so dont know how to trace back messges if needed from file store.
    Please let me know if you guys have any idea to handle this.
    Thanks in advance
    Bips

    No. Not with Time Machine at least.
    If you tell Time Machine to backup the external then you will have it.
    Or you can manually copy it to another disk for storage outside of Time Capsule/TimeMachine.

    Hi,
    As far as i know, JMS Object Messages is not supported by XI JMS adapter.
    you need to have the JMS provider to transform the message to bytes messages.

  • How to configure my JMS QUEUE serve only one message at a time?

    Hi All,
    I have requirement where I need to develope a JMS QUEUE in weblogic. This MDB has to serve only one message at a time. Is there any way to configure via annotations or in weblogic server settings ?
    Any help would be really appreciated...
    Thank you,
    K.

    I'm not aware of any way to configure the max pool size via annotations, you might try posting to the EJB newsgroup (please post back the answer). Of course you can set the size via an EJB descriptor, as per the MDB chapter of the Performance and Tuning guide in the edocs.
    By the way, if you have ordered message processing requirements, I highly recommend taking a look at the WebLogic JMS "Unit-of-Order" (UOO) feature as per the UOO chapter of the JMS programmer's guide. For a variety of reasons, the UOO features is often, by far, the best option for handling such requirements. If this feature applies to your use case, then there would be no need to force single threaded message processing in some sort of manual fashion (the feature enforces this for you).

  • Multiple Messages in Same JMS queue

    Hello,
    I have interfaces in which different xml messages from the same sender system will be placed in the same MQ queue, is there a way that XI JMS sender channel can differentiate the xml messages based on the payload?
    I can create a single communication channel, but the outbound message interface I cannot create a common structure because the xml messages are huge and there will be future interfaces following the same architecture.
    1. How can I route in interface determination based on the context in the inbound msg interface?
    2. What can I provide as Message interface for the outbound?
    3. MessageSelector attribute in Adapter specific properties - any ideas on this? - I can select this in the condition context in interface determination - can I give any values here to differentiate msges?
    4. Value mapping - is it possible to define the sender message interface through this?
    Any idea is appreciated..THank you..

    Hi Thanujja,
    We have recently completed a project that had this requirement too. We made use of the MessageSelector to solve this problem. You'll need to make use of some advanced (advanced tab)settings in the comm channel. Basically you want to add Additional JMS Message Properties. You can add up to 10 additonal JMS Properties.
    Let's say you've added a property called MESTYP. You then need to get the sender to populate the MESTYP property with a text value for each IDoc involved e.g. DELVRY. You would then set your JMS Message Selector field as follows: MESTYP='DELVRY'.
    You'll have a comm channel for each IDoc. These comm channels will then connect to the JMS Queue & only pick up messages that meet the criteria at set in the Message Selector.
    There was one other problem that encountered with Message Selector, we were on XI version 7.0, the Message Selector was working intermittently & then we applied SAP Note 1256636 & upgraded to 7.01. Everything is working fine after that.

  • Reading Message from Foreign JMS Queue in SOA Suite 11g.

    Hi,
    I am trying to read a JMS message that has been put into a JMS Queue on a remote weblogic Server.
    The steps that I know is that I need to create a foreign JMS Server and then probably use JMS Adapter to subscribe to the message that is lying in the remote queue.
    Has anybody been able to achieve this kind of scenario working for a remote JMS queue? Also, is this supported by JMS Adapter in SOA11g?
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Varun Maheshwari

    Hi Atheek1,
    Thanks for your reply.
    The confusion that is pondering me is that do I need to create a Foreign JMS Server or should I create a JMS adapter and override the properties.
    I have tried the steps for creating a Foreign Server from the below link
    Unable to access remote JMS Queue through JMS Adapter
    But I am not able to find the Foreign Server created and any connection factories and Destinations related to foreign Server in my JMS Destination while configuring JMS Adapter.
    I am not sure how to do step2 as entailed by you.
    Could you please explain me in little detail on how to do this or redirect me to some blog or forum which will be really helpful.
    Cheers,
