Import package from one project into another

Hello everyone,
I have some projects.
An enterprise and war project created in netbeans.
I would like to use some files from one project to another. when I import
the package I get the error-
'package x does not exist'
I have added the package to the project but I still get the error.
I have also added the project to import to my glasspath but still.
E.g.
set classpath
.;c:\enterpriseA;
My next idea is to create a war project into my enterprise project and copy the files
from the war project into it in order to use it. But I'm sure there is a better way.
THanking you in advance.

One mistake I keep making is that I don't add the package to the
Dependencies of the plugin I'm writing. You have to go to plugin.xml,
and add the package you depend on to the Dependencies section. Maybe you
didn't do this?

  • Copy part of a sequence from one project into another?

I want to bring a sequence from none project into another. Do I need to import the files into the bin in new project? Or is there a shorter way?
(This was what I was trying to do in my last post when it all went south. I'll post it there too)

I have brought an old sequence from a FCE project into FCP, and then copied them into a new( final) sequence, and there's a problem. Some--but not all--of the video files are very wide. Can I correct or do I need to re-import the original files fron the Hard drive?
By the way, you've pulled my fat out of the fire a few times. Thanks.

  • Import JSPs from one project to another (depends on or ??)

I'd like to solve the large product problem: Broke up into several projects.
The problem is most evident in unit testing with the internal container. Any jsp includes
or forwards to JSP's in other projects just is not supported with local testing.
I'd be very happy to live with the same solution I'm using for classes from other projects.
I.E. a Project library that points to the output path of another project.
The deployment config for project B who depends on project A's classes, includes the classes
    from A into the projB.ear.
I can live with this. It supports use of Tester and Local running of JSPs.
I'd like the same solution for JSPs too.
I'm happy to forgo the URL distinction that's possible by deploying all modules to an
external container. I'd be willing to live with all JSP's in proj A accessed as if they
    where local to proj B.
    Anybody have a solution?
At present I'm living in HELL, with JSP src in both places. As the project grows into
more modules, replication from A to B-->E just won't work. Plus, as JDev and SCM go,
someone always screws up and adds these copied files to SCM and the project.
    It's currently a mess!
    Thanks, curt

Although classes have the notion of a classpath, the HTML Root directories from several projects cannot be strung together like that. The OC4J server does not support multiple document roots for a single web module.
There are a few possibilities for you though:
    1) Change the settings of each project so that they all point to the same HTML Root directory. In this configuration, a WAR profile in any one of the projects will deploy the entire contents of the HTML Root directory.
    2) If you can't put all the JSPs in the same HTML Root directory, formalize the boundaries between the web modules by defining a "J2EE Web Context Root" for each project according to your exact need. Then when JSPs include or forward to each other, use URIs that contain the context root as part of the URI.
    3) Keep everything in one project, but separate the JSPs into different directories. Then to get a filtered view of your JSPs in the JDev navigator. switch the navigator into "Category view" (Project | Show Categories). You can then selectively drill into a specific directory. If you select the project and then choose View | Display in New Navigator, you can get a separate navigator whose scope is narrowed onto your specific project.
Hope that helps. If you have any specific suggestions on enhancements that would improve your productivity in this area, please let us know.

  • How do I copy clips from one project into another?

Ok, I have gathers a bunch of clips from various events to forma project. Now I want to rearrange everything in a new project. Can I somehow get my first project to act like an event? That way I can grab the clips into a new project window... Thanks

If I understand what you are trying to do, you do not need to "get my first project to act like an event". Merely drag the same clips you used in your first project from their original event location(s) into the new project. Then reorder or re-edit the clips as desired. There is no need to make them into a "dummy" project first.
If you want to have EVERY (or almost every) clip in both the first and new projects, with the second merely being reordered or re-edited, use the *File > Duplicate Project* menu command. Then go to work on the newly duplicated copy of the project. You can rename the duplicated project as desired and reorder, edit, or delete the clips in the duplicated project without dragging them from any event.

  • How can I copy/import topics from one project to another?

I am using RH8, Windows 7 and creating Browser based air help.
One of the old posts I found said to import it, but when you select File/Import what do you select? Do you import the .htm file?
    more info needed.
    thank you.

Your first post said "One of the old posts I found said to import it" without indicating what IT was. Telling us it's an htm file doesn't tell us much.

  • HT4007 I have multiple libraries. I would like to import one project into another library. How?

I have multiple libraries. I would like to import one project into another library. How?

Select the project in the Library Inspector and export the project as library. Then import this library into your other Aperture library.

  • If I move a picture from one project to another in aperture why doesn't the jpeg change folders if all my pictures are referenced?

I started importing all my pictures into Aperture and have been debating whether to use a managed or referenced library.  I'm leaning toward referenced, but before import everything that way, I do a couple of "test drives".
In Aperture, I moved a photo from one project to another expecting that the jpeg in finder would move from the original folder to the new one, but it didn't.  Anyone know why?  Is there a way to make this happen?  Is it bad that I want this to happen?  Should I just use a managed library.  I like having control of the actual files (thus wanting to go with a referenced library).
    Any thoughts?
    Mark

In Aperture, I moved a photo from one project to another expecting that the jpeg in finder would move from the original folder to the new one, but it didn't.
Mark, Aperture does not store the originals organized by project, but by the date of the Import Session. So moving an image to a different project will not change, were the original file is stored.
This has a big advantage for backing up the originals. If they never move or change, you do not have to backup the originals other than directly after importing, if your library is referenced. And even incremental backups of a managed library are quicker.
Is there a way to make this happen?
You can always use the command "File > Relocate" to move the original files anywhere you want.
Is it bad that I want this to happen?  Should I just use a managed library.  I like having control of the actual files (thus wanting to go with a referenced library).
If it is bad, will depend on why you want to have control of your originals. If you just want to know where they are, it is o.k., or if you don't have enough space on the drive with the library and need to split the library across several drives. But it would be bad to move, edit, or access the referenced originals in any way. Let Aperture do the handling,  or you will be risking broken references.
Aperture has several buil-in ways to show you the original: The "M" key will switch the Browser to the original, "File > Export > Original" will give you an exact copy of the original, or you can relocate the file to another folder.  I simply open the aperture Library in iPhoto, when I want to view my managed originals. iPhoto has a command "File > Reveal in Finder > Original" that will show you also the managed originals in the "Masters" folder inside the Aperture/iPhoto Library package.

  • Cutting and pasting tables from one project to another

When cutting and pasting existing tables from one project to
another, the line weights for the cell borders seem to vary at
random - some are the original line weight and some are heavier
    when pasted.
I've tried sorting things out with the table properties
    dialogue, but to no effect.
Is there a quick fix, or am I better importing in whole
topics and then editing the imported topic?

    Hi Colum/Peter,
It's not a custom table, I just need to copy an existing
table from one project to another.
My blasted developers (may the fleas of a thousand camels,
etc), just decided to change the toolbars in one of our
applications. As this toolbar appears in slightly different guises
in about 6 tabs, I was trying to update the table that shows what
icon does what and cut and paste that table into all the sub
projects I have. Each table then only needs a minor edit for a few
    icons specific to that sub-project.
Peter's on the right track. When I cut and pasted the table
it also pasted in a number of lines of HTML associated with the
styles in the other project. If I delete those lines, the table
    then appears as it should.
    Thanks for prompt response

  • Move tracks from one project to another?

I'd like to know if there's a way to move tracks (with or without inserts, automation and other stuff) from one project to another.
I have a project containing a working mix of a song that I've spent many hours assembling. One of my bandmates sent me parts he tracked in GarageBand, two audio tracks and one track using a MIDI instrument. I imported the GB file into LE and made some edits. I'd like to bring those three tracks into my current mix.
I understand that I can bounce each track out individually, then re-import them on new tracks in the mix project, but this means turning off all the inserts and EQ on each track and blah blah blah, it seems like there must be an easier way. Being able to directly move or import the tracks would preserve my editing flexibility in a way that bounces won't.
Please, any suggestions may prove valuable.
    Thank you for your time.

...let me also re-emphasize: the GB2 file was imported and converted and tossed. I am trying to move tracks from one Logic Express project to another Logic Express project.
    Just to be perfectly clear.

  • Move Photos from One Project to Another

Is there a way to move photos and transition effects from one project to another?
    Using iMovie08
    Thanks

    @bshig
more often than not, i seem to import the images into a new project, which i don't want.
I spotted and 'solved' this one last night. I don't have Aperture in front of me just now, so I'm writing this from memory...
Open your Preferences. Look for, I think, an Import tab. There's a preference for setting the default target project which has two options (from a pop-up menu). The options are "New Project" and something like "Selected Project". Changing that over should solve your problem...

  • Copying an entire software instrument track from one project to another

    Hello,
Is it possible to copy or import one entire software instrument track from one GB 3.0.2 project to another? At the moment I've got to copy a region from one project, open another project, paste it in the 2nd project, and open the other one again (which appears to close the 2nd project) to copy the second region. This is incredibly cumbersome because I can't have both projects open at the same time.
Has anyone found a less tiresome method to do this?
    Thanks

The easiest work-around I can imagine is to join all regions of the track and copy that. Another option is to freeze the track, which will turn it into normal audio. You might also add your MIDI parts to the library. That will avoid the need to switch between projects, but does require one or two more actions.

  • Moving a Clip From One Project to Another

How do you move a clip from one project to another keeping the sound clip and title that was used on that clip?

As far as I can tell, you can COPY all, or some, of the video clips (and stills) with transitions and FX and PASTE into a different Project. But you can't copy titles or audio tracks.
However, you can make a QT movie of the segment you want and import it. If it's short use 8-biy uncompressed or ProRes 422.
Or you can DUPLICATE what you need, and and new clips to the duplicate.

  • Moving Subtitles from one project to another

To make work on a project more efficient, we started a project on one computer with only the film track for subtitling, whilst authoring the DVD on an other computer, another project.
So, how do we move the subtitles created in one DVDSP project into another project?
I cannot see that the subtitle stream creates its own asset, which could be imported into the authoring project, and DVDSP refuses me to copy the subtitles to past them into the "real" project and I find no export options which seem to apply.
    Humbly seeking help.

Sorry Per - there is no direct way of moving the subs from one project to another, or exporting them directly as an asset. The very best advice is to construct subtitles outside of DVDSP as a text file which you can then import, edit, alter exactly as you want. I suspect it's beyond that point for you now, though!
However, if you use the app 'Subtitler' then you can export an item description of your DVDSP track and extract the subtitles from it in STL format.
Another thing to do is to export the track from one project as an asset and import it into the new project, but then replace the video and audio elements with the correct pieces that you need to use. It's a lot more messy than simply having a text file for the subs, but could get you out of a hole.

  • Moving image from one project to another

Hi all. I'm sorry if this is simple to do, but I can't figure it out. I have recently purchased Aperture 3 and am trying to figure out how to move an image from one project to another. I had several photos on my camera, and imported them this morning into it's own project. Now, I would like to take some of those photos and put them in my "family" project, and some into my "dogs" project, etc. When I open up the new project, I can't find where I can move them to another project. I have to assume this is doable, but I can't figure it out.
    Thanks in advance.
    Dale.

Sorry to be a complete idiot, but here's my issue. When I open the original project, and then find the image that I want to move, I am unable to see any other projects (in browser view), so I have nowhere to drag them to. I hope that makes sense and you can help.
    Thanks again.
    Dale.

  • Editing audio from one project to another

I'm trying to build a DVD project of different musical performances in Final Cut Pro X. The Mac I'm working with crashes every 30 minutes regardless of what I'm doing so, instead of building a monstrous timeline with two hours worth of performances on it (which will never save given the crash issues), I'm trying to build it by each song (4-6 minutes each).
The format is: opening billboard (with performer and song listed) --> fade into performance --> performance --> fade out of performance. If I were fading the audio out after each song, it would be simple but I'm trying to keep some of the audience track going under the next billboard so it blends better. I can't seem to cut the audio at the end of the fade out and apply it to the next song without continuing to build onto the same timeline which, due to the crash issues, doesn't help me.
Is there an audio work around that I'm missing? All I want to do is fade the audio a little past the fade effect, copy it and apply it to the beginning of the next song. Anyone?

Just ran into the same problem myself... while I get you CAN export the audio, then import it and use anyway you like I don't think that is the point of the original poster's question.
The voice-over clip has unique properties and as such I (and it looks like other users) would like to be able to "copy & paste" a voice-over clip from one project to another. Alternatively if I could drag and drop the voice-over clip into my Event that would be great too. Doesn't seem like an unreasonable request. Right now the famed Apple ease-of-use is missing for those of us who have recorded voice over elements we want to use in more than one project.
Had I known iMove would not allow sharing of voice over clips within iMovie I would have recorded my voice-over clips in another application and imported them all as audio-clips. Which certainly defeats the point of the inclusion of voice-over in iMovie.
Any solutions that work within the app without an export/import required?
