Correctly done AIP needed for reader 10.0.1

I just can't seem to get this.  Couldn't get for 9.4.2 either.
msiexec /a acroread.msi /p adobetier1update.msp
I click next and next and then it's done.
It says 10.0.1 in add remove programs, but the install is still 10.0.0.  The C:\program files\adobe\reader 10.0\reader\acrod32.exe is still 10.0 and not the updated one.
If I install 10.0.0 and then run the update everything is good.  I have also tried
msiexec /a adobereader.msi /update update.msp
Why won't it work?

For creation of Reader X (10.0.1) AIP you need to have Reader X AIP first. You can follow the below steps to create Reader X 10.0.1 AIP
Steps to create Reader X AIP
=====================
1. Create a source folder containing Reader X installer.(Either locally or on a secure network share)
2. Create a distribution point which is accessible by users who want to deploy the application.(At this distribution point installer will install uncompressed program files).
3. Click Start, Run and type cmd and press enter.
4. Run command => msiexec /a "Source Path to Reader MSI"
5. On the network location dialog (where to install files) browse to distribution point created in step 2
6. click ok
Steps to add patch 10.0.1 to Reader X AIP
===============================
1. Create a source folder containing Reader X patch file.(Either locally or on a secure network share)
2. Click Start, Run and type cmd and press enter.
3. Run command => msiexec /a " full path to the administrative installation point and installer
file that you created in the previous procedure at distribution point" /p "full path to Reader patch file"
4. After completion of applying patch you can install using MSI created newly at distribution point and it will install Reader X 10.0.1

    Hello,
After you run your code, check transaction SU53 to see if any authorization check failed.

  • Need for Read Consistency

    Dear Members :
[1] In later versions of Oracle (10g/11) the error "ora-01555 snapshot-too-old" almost never occurs - is this true ?

This is just to convince myself - although I never encountered.

If you have a sufficiently sized Undo tablespace and a properly configured Undo Retention period, its possible that you won't hit the 1555 error any time soon but that doesn't mean its gone for good. Its very much there and can definitely hit you.

  • Correct user exit need for vl32n - post goods receipt.

Sorry this is not the correct forum . SO please don't look in to this
For vl32n , upon "Post goods receipt" button click, I was  writing code in "mv50afz1" ...Basically in the  "mv50afz1" program, I am clearing the value of batch(charg) and the same batch value I am assigning to vendor batch(am doing by moving xlips-charg value to xlips-lichn).
But the thing is my logic should be written in one of the userexit before this user exit( Why because  SAP generates one batch on it's own and assigns that to batch if it the batch field in vl32n is space - If batch field is not space SAP's generated batch won't be assigned - So I need to make the batch value space in vl32n upon click of "Post goods receipt" button to allow assignment of SAP's batch).
So could you please suggest me is there any user exit available for this ?
    THANKS.

  • Satellite Pro A200-1MN correct sata contoller needed for xp install

    hi
i thought i had the correct file for my xp install on my floppy but the windows install still can't see my hard drive
i don't have the recovery media hence this problem
    Satellite Pro A200-1MN
    PSAE4E-01R00WEN
i have it as 82801 sata ahci controller and ich8m storage controller 2850
it doesn't seem to like them though, can anyone help?

Usually this option you can find in advanced BIOS options and you can choose between AHCI and compatibility. Option is SATA controller mode.
Anyway, it is better to install OS with AHCI mode and have full HDD performance.
Download storage manager and there you will find folder called F6flpy.
There you will find ICH8M_32bit folder with WXP sata driver.
When you start WXP installation use F6 button to load SATA driver. After doing this HDD will be recognized properly and you will be able to continue WXP installation.

  • What adapter do I need for my ipod Nano 7th Generation to connect to a Sony home docking station (30 pin). I purchased the one recommended (Lightning to 30 pin adapter), but it says 'this accessory is not supported by this device)?

Could someone please tell me the correct lead I need for an Applie Ipod 7th Generation 16GB for a Sony docking station. I bought a Lightning to 30 pin adaptor that fits the dock but not the ipod (this was recommended to me by someone from the Apple shop believe it or not). I need one that will fit the ipod and then slot into the 30 pin dock. The dock pulls out and my old ipod (5th Generation) just slotted straight in, but this slot obviously doesn't fit. It would really help if someone can recommend what I need to use or even if there is one that just slots in or whether I need some sort of cable and can't use the docking station. I've had a lock at the Apple store but just keep getting confused about what does what and can't seem to see anything unless I need an additional cable to slot into the 30 pin adapter I already have?
    HELP - CONFUSED.COM!

If it is a lightning to 30 pin adaptor, and you have a 7th Generation Nano it has to fit the Nano.
This is lightning to 30 pin adapter: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Apple%26%23174%3B---Lightning-to-30-Pin-Adapter/6651 936.p?id=1218803450821&skuId=6651936#tab=overview
    Is this what you bought?
You need to contact Sony and see if they model you have is compatible with the docking adapter. It may not be.

  • ILife Support 8.3 needed for iLife 06?

I'm setting up an 800MHz PowerBook with Mac OS X 10.4.11 and iLife 06 (iPhoto, iMovie, iTunes). Software Update keeps telling me I need to install "iLife Support 8.3", which is described as:
+iLife Support provides system software components shared by all iLife '08 applications. This update improves overall stability and addresses a number of other minor issues. It is recommended for all users for iLife '08.+
It says nothing about iLife 06. Does anyone know why Software Update is insisting I install this? Is it really needed for iLife 06?

    No you don't need this.

  • Apps you don't need

Hi, I have several basic questions about apps on a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.7.4.
First, do the apps in the app folder delay my MacBook Pros' startup time?
Second, do they slow my browser attempting to update at seemingly random times without my expressed consent?
Third, since I loaded many free apps onto my drive when I first started with this laptop. I guess I thought they were "too good to pass up" at the time. I am concerned that they are merely taking up space.
Here is my list of seldom or rarely used apps: Alfred; Automator; Diskspeed test, Chipmunk; Cocktail; Cyberduck; Evernote; FreeMemory; Hexedit; iClapperPro; iCleanMemory; iStumbler; KISmac; Microsoft Silverlight; Mover Connect; Netspot; Network Strength; Speakline; Spotify; Switch; The Unarchiver; Transmission; TuneAid; VLC; Vuse; WifiAnalyzser; Virtual DJ Home.
My final question is: are any of these app worthless, dangerous, or detrimental to my startup time or online speed?
Advance thanks for any advice and information.

I know many, but not all of the apps. The question about performance goes to whether any of these automatically load at startup and then run in the background. That would have an effect on RAM and could slow you down. Mostly they're just taking up space on your hard drive, so I wouldn't hang on to things I really don't use.
Of the list there are several I use and like: Automator;  Cyberduck; Evernote; iClapperPro; iStumbler;   Netspot; Spotify; Switch; The Unarchiver;  VLC; Vuse; WifiAnalyzser.
You have a lot of network analyzers so I'm assuming that's something you find useful - looks like a number of them duplicate each other. Open Activity Monitor in the utilities folder right after a startup and see which of these loads something in right off. As for Silverlight - there are some other things that depend on it being there - if you eliminate it and are never asked to have it available you'll certainly know you don't need it.

  • Need for implementing Objects By Filter (OBF) method in ACE

    Hi All,
i wanted to understand the significance of the OBF method in ACE. Can i implement my logic only using Actor from User (AFU) and Actor from objects (AFO). Does it impact the performace if OBF is not implemented. Please provide you inputs on this.
    Regards,
    Sudha

    Hi Nithish.,
Thanks for explanation. Yes i understood the purpose of OBF. Let me tyr explain my doubt with an example.
I have to determine acces for one-order objects having a specific custom  transaction type say ZABC.
In OBF i will fetch all the one order objects where the transaction type is ZABC. This output of OBF will serve as input to my AFO.
In AFO, i willl again fetch the same objects. I will loop through the output of OBF method for every object and check if the object fetched in AFO is present in output table of OBF. If yes then proceed further in determinig the actor for that objec. Repeat this process in a loop for every object in OBF.
If my above understanding is correct, what is need for having specific  OBF method when I can directly write the logic of fetching one order object of transaction type ZABC in my AFO and dertermine the actors for them. without having to loop thourgh the outpu of OBF.
    Regards,
    Sudha

  • Need for efficiency tips

I guess efficiency refers to about run-time, compile-time, and memory usage.

-declare a local rather than a global variable, if the variable is only needed locally

-final classes, final methodsNothing to do with efficiency. That's about prohibiting inheritence.
-declare a local rather than a global variable, if the
variable is only needed locallyPerhaps, though I doubt it wioll be of much use.
-something about importsNo. Java loads classes only as needed, not while processing the import statement.

Sorry, I don't understand this - you don't want Adobe [Reader] not to open when doing what?  On what operating system?

  • Being Charged for data plan I don't need

It's that time of the two year contract with two out of three phones up for a renewal on our contract. Two phones need to be replaced. I stop in at the local Verizon store to get our options, costs, etc. While discussing the two year contract and reviewing the phones my kids picked out, Joe (Verizon employee) informs me that the phones the kids picked out have a required a data plan that costs $9.99 a month. Now the phones the kids picked out are middle of the range text messaging phones. Not a Blackberry or a Droid.
I explain to Joe that I'm not interested in the data plan as the kids don't need internet service on their cell phones. This apparently does not matter to Verizon as this is a required charge now. Joe explains that I can block this service while still having to play $9.99 per phone each month. So that I get this straight, I asked Joe if my math was correct. I will be paying an additional $240 a year for a data plan service that I do not want or need? "Yes ma'am" was his reply. He then points me in the direction of the three flip phones that do not require a data plan. Now even this was laughable as he explains that these phones are more for the "elderly".  Oh yeah, I'm going to bring my 2 teenagers into the store and point them over to the "elderly" phones. Ha!
Interestingly enough, I bought the EnV3 recently and did not have to purchase the data plan. To purchase the exact same EnV3 now, I would incur this data plan charge. This makes absolutely no sense to me other than Verizon being greedy.
So then I leave the store and walk directly over to another wireless store and ask one simple question. Do I have to pay for a service that 1) I don't want and 2) don't need? The answer was "no".  He quoted the same phone plan to what I'm have now, but will not be charged for coverages I do not want. Off the bat, I'm saving $20 a month over Verizon. And he's comped two new phones for free. Nothing out of pocket for new phones. The man at this store then advised me to determine what my cancellation fees would be with Verizon in order to better make a decision on whether or not to switch.
I walk back to the Verizon store, put my name back into the system. While waiting, Julie (Verizon employee) asks me why I'm looking into cancelling my service. I explain the situation while she grins nicely and slightly nods her head. She has a teenage daughter and she understands. We discuss the need of limiting teenagers and internet service. She explained that even as an employee she had to pay for this service and did not want it. Well, Julie I have a choice.
I don't remember the name of the next VE but we review the cancellations fees etc. $225 due if I should cancel before my contract expires. (I can cancel during my contract and still not have to pay as much as incurring the new data plan charges.) He is doing everything he can at this point to keep my service. I ask him if he can waive a data plan service fees that I do not want. No, he cannot.
So thinking this whole through, I'm not willing to spend the extra money for a service that I do not want. I am not willing to provide my teens with a data plan on their cell phones that I have no control over. They have plenty of opportunities to access the internet without having it in their palm 24/7. Plus knowing teenagers, I wouldn't want to incur the add-on expenses for the data plan overrages. You know as well as I do, once they know they have it, it will be used and they will not have a clue on how to limit internet access. Yes, I am one of those moms that refuse to pay for everything their little hearts desire and like hell will I waste $240 a year because Verizon demands this data plan.
It's clear that Verizon does not have a clue on this. I would rather spend the $ to get out of a plan with a greedy company- than feed more money into their operation when they clearly don't have their finger on the pulse of what families need. So, after having been with Verizon Wireless for 14 years and quite happy with them and the service, I will be switching at the end of the month.

Dawn,  I'm right there with you....
I've been a "Verizon" customer for over 15 years (records carried over from when I was Cellular One and they got bought out by VZW)... and I currently have 1 primary and 3 supplemental lines for family.  In the past it was never a problem to get a multi-media phone for my teen because he likes to have his music with him.. obviously... he's a teen.  And in the past there has NEVER been a charge for any time of "data plan" for the MM phones.. which  is good.  So now his phone is eligible for an upgrade, and he'd like to have the EnV3 which has the MM features.  However  good ol' VZW being the monopoly that they are now wants a long time customer to pay for a data plan....a $9.99/month data plan for 25MB downloads.  More over, in order to ensure my teen doesn't surpass the 25MB/month, I'd have to subscirbe (at an additional price of $4.99/month) for Usage Control features for the line.  So now VZW wants this line to go from being a simple $9.99/month to $25.00 just because a MM phone??!!  What's worse, is that my teen already has an LG Voyager (a MM phone), yet I have services for mobile web, data downloads and such BLOCKED on his line.  So answer me this... why should I have to mandatorily pay a mandatory $15/month fee for a service I'm not using in the first place?!!
VZW has slowly but surely penny-anny'd their customers over the years and I'm finally fed up with it.  Time to switch.  Even if the other carriers do require a data plan with their phones, at least I'll know what I'm getting up front and no suprises along the way.  VZW's "New every two" means NEW AND MORE CHARGES EVERY 2 YEARS... that's for sure!
