Corrupt email attachments and uploading of files

Hi all.
I've been having this problem for a few weeks now but just spoken to BT and they told me the line/connection is fine and they cannot help me any further. I had read that it could be noise or static on the line but according to BT this is not the case.
My problems are occuring when I send email attachments via Mail, they almost always are being corrupted when the recipient receives them. Also, when I upload amended website files via FTP, quite a few of the graphics end up corrupt: Images display as half an image and half grey or they can display as small section of the image and the rest being a block of colourful noise.
I'm really at the end of my tether with this one, not only does it happen on my MacPro, it also happens on my MacBook Pro
I'd be really grateful of any help/suggestions from anyone please.

As said you'd have to transfer your file somehow to the database server; you could use ftp or standard windows shares for that. After you uploaded your file you could use dbms_lob to process your file and insert it into the database: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/appdev.102/b14258/d_lob.htm#ARPLS020
Or you could use BFILES to store pointers of your files in the table:

The other way round you'd simply use ftp or what ever else to download those files to the client and display them with host with the associated program. Bfiles would have the benefit that the files are not stored as blobs in the database but on the filesystem which would spare you the writing of a temporary file to transfer it to the client (and reading it with dbms_lob when transfering it to the server) as the file resides on the file system of the database server.

Reprocessing RTLOG in RESA and uploading posu file in RMS

Hi All,
We processed the RTLOGS of one Business Day(exp:01-01-18). in RESA and uploaded POSU file in RMS.Later we found that some transactions were missing. Now we generated another RTLOG for that day(complete business day with all data in that).is there any procedure to reprocess the RTLOG in RESA and posu file in RMS.

I guess you will have to deal in a manual way with the overlap between the two files, i.e. remove from the second RTLOG file the transactions that were already loaded in the first run. Then use the standard ReSA and RMS upload processes to add these new transactions.

Steps to prepare and upload excel files data to r/3?

Hi abap experts,
We have brand new installed ECC system somehow configured but with no master or transaction data loaded .It is new empty system....We also have some legacy data in excel files...We want to start loading some data into the SAP sandbox step by step and to see how they work...test some transactions see if the loaded data are good etc initial tests.
Few questions here are raised:
-Can someone tell me what is the process of loading this data into SAP system?
-Should this excel file must me reworked prepared somehow(fields, columns etc) in order to be ready for upload to SAP??
-Users asked me how to prepared their legacy excel files so they can be ready in SAP format for upload.?Is this an abaper job or it is a functional guy job?
-Or should the excel files be converted to .txt files and then imported to SAP?Does it really make some difference if files are in excel or .txt format?
-Should the Abaper determine the structure of those excel file(to be ready for upload ) and if yes, what are the technical rules here ?
-What tools should be used for this initial data loads? CATT , Lsmw , batch input or something else?
-At which point we should test the data?I guess after the initial load?
-What tools are used in all steps before...
-If someone can provide me with step by step scenario or guide of loading some kind of initial master data - from .xls file alignment to the real upload - this will be great..

Depends on data we upload the data from file to R/3 .
If it is regular updation then we used to get the data from application server files to R/3 since local file updation we can not set up background processing..
If it is master data upload and that to one time upload then we use presenation server files to SAP R/3..

Help~how can I download and upload pdf file in simple solution

I am new doing Portal.
I want to create a page which can provide download pdf file function and other page which can provide upload pfg file function.
I created a link to download file, and implemented uploading files by access the file directory.
Can this solution work in Portal?
I've tried, but I couldn't access file directory through web_dav.
Anyone can give me some suggestion?

You can only install apps (programs) via the App Store app on your iPad, or by downloading them via iTunes store on your computer and then syncing them to your iPad - you can't download and install programs from the internet via a browser, they are not compatible with the iPad.

Download and upload of file to server dir (AL11)

Hello,
I have a custom program that is downloading files from application server directory (they are like templates) to user local pc. User is then modifying such files and finally upload them in another AS directory.
The program is currently making use of FM's C13Z_FILE_DOWNLOAD_BINARY and C13Z_FILE_UPLOAD_BINARY.
There was no problem until hot packages have been implemented: now such FM's are returning an error saying:
Internal program error; (YDOWNLOAD SAPLC13Z 0 C13Z_RAWDATA_WRITE)
When in debug, it appears that the FM C13Z_RAWDATA_WRITE (called by the above mentioned FM's) is checking the calling program (sy-cprog) and if this latter is not within a list of standard programs (hardcoded), then the error is thrown.
My question is: Is there another way to download and upload files without such error? Could you please share the code?

Email address and uploading through DPS

I have a Professional account for DPS and with that, I use the Adobe ID-related email address (that was registered to the account when it was set up) to upload my folios.
But say my company needs to build and upload say 3 folios in one day - do all three still need to go through the same email address, or can a number of Adobe ID-related email addresses be provisioned on the account so that multiple, simultaneous uploads can take place?

Your account administrator should create Adobe IDs that are specific for each publication. The admin uses the Account Administration tool on the Dashboard to assign the "Application" role to each Adobe ID. To create issues for each viewer app, you sign in to the Folio Builder panel using the appropriate Adobe ID. See this topic:

Email attachments and digital signature

I used to be able to open a email attachment, review it and then digitally sign it.
Since the new IT people came it, the digital signature simply disappears. Any way to restore this function? Thanks.

We experienced a similar problem when Adobe updates were installed. It seems that a recent Adobe update took away the capability to save your digital signature directly to the PDF email attachment, then forward the email with the signed attachment. Now, when we open a PDF email attachment and place a digital signature, as soon as we have entered our password for our digital signature, we are prompted with the "Save As" dialog box asking us to save the document somewhere on the hard drive of our computer (the default location is My Documents). If you hit Cancel, then the signed version does not get saved. The attachment remains unsigned. So we learned we needed to go through the Save As dialog and choose (and remember) a location to save the PDF, such as My Documents or Desktop, then reply or compose a new email and attach the signed version that we had just saved in Documents/Desktop. We used to be able to hit the Save icon in Adobe and save our changes (digital signature) to the email attachment. Having to save the PDF somewhere other than the email itself is an extra step we'd prefer to avoid, and we'd be happy to learn of a way to go back to our old method. I believe the key was that Adobe would save the signed version somewhere in the "temp files" on the C drive and automatically use that version when the email is forwarded. And I think Adobe did away with that, unless there is a way to revert to that method using Preferences?
But I wonder if the Asker of this question is able to click "Place Signature" and has an opportunity to "Save As," saving the PDF on the hard drive of the computer for future attaching? Are you hitting "Cancel" in the Save As dialog?
If you save the signed PDF (i.e. in the default My Documents), then a slightly quicker method than having to browse to the saved document in Documents is, you can click on the envelope icon (Sharing) at the top of the screen. Then click the "Attach to Email" circle and click the "Attach" button. This will generate a new email in your email application (i.e. Outlook) with the signed PDF attached (Adobe pulls the signed version that you previously saved to your Documents). The downside to this is that the generated email will not have the original email thread or subject line, so you will need to add a relevant subject line.
Some of our users reported that they used the Share ... Attach to Email feature and their signatures would get wiped from the email attachment after they hit send. However, this phenomenon has not been witnessed since the most recent Adobe software update.

Downloading email attachments and changing settings..please help

Can anyone help me understand how I can change the download settings for inbound emails? In attempting to download attachments, often I either can't open them, or they appear in a box and I can see them download but can't open them after clicking on them. Also, some of the attachments open the quicktime window as if I'm making a new movie or watching one already on the hard drive. Thanks folks

Please Clarify. Do you use an online e-mail page (such as Gmail) or do you use an app on your iMac (like Mail.appl or Entourage)? Where are you saving your files?

Cannot open email attachments that are .msg files from a PDF portfolio

I have been creating
PDF portifolios comprised of emails and their attachments. When I open .xls, .doc, .txt, .html attached messages they open fine. when I try to open an attached .msg file, I get an error message that the file cannot be read or that it it damaged. please advise what I need to do to be able to open these files

John, thanks for the suggestion. The messasge was created by outlook and is an email message. I brought it back into outlook and still cannot open it. I think it is more of an issue of the file not being converted properly by acrobat, but I can;t tell for sure.

Email/message and upload video

1. From the Home screen, touch Applications, Camera, Camcorder.
2. Using the display as a viewfinder, compose your shot by aiming the lens at the subject.
• Press the Volume Key to zoom in or out.
3. To start recording, touch the Record button. During recording, the button changes to Pause; touch Pause to
temporarily stop recording. To resume recording, touch Record again.
4. To stop recording, touch the Stop button.
5. After recording, touch Image Viewer to view the video. While viewing the video, use these options:
• Double-tap on the video to zoom all the way in or out.
• Touch Share to send the video via AllShare, Bluetooth, Email, Gmail, Messaging, or YouTube
Try sending the video to your Picture Portal, then logging into your My Verizon account then going to your pictures, and gallery, from there you can try uploading the pictures.
The maximum file upload size and resolution of an image/ video is usually around 3MB/6 Megapixel.
You can try resizing the video by downloading a third party application, that will allow you to compress the video and format.

Help with email buttons, and uploading from a webpage you created

Would anyone know how to create a 'contact us' page for a website, so people can send you their contact info and files?
The GoLive book says your provider does this, but my large hosting provider said you do it in GoLive.
Most sites have a 'contact us' page, where you can fill in your name and address, and send a PDF or file, just by clicking a 'send' button.
If someone could help me with this, I'd appreciate it.

If your provided provided PHP scripting you can use NateMail from MindPalette (NateMail 3.0.15), and it's free. It's a forms fill-in email contact that can be built in GoLive. I've used it with great success on my site.

Accessing and Uploading Cloud Files

Hi,
1) I've uploaded files to my cloud from two websites (one active site and one I'm building). However, I don't see how to access the files after launching Dreamweaver so that I can contunie to build my site using my cloud files. How/where do I tap my cloud files via Fireworks or Dreamweaver?
2) Since I've been working in Dreamweaver linking to a recently created folder which sits on my desktop, is there a way to upload that folder and it's contetnt to the cloud in one shot, instead of file-by-file?

SSL and uploading/downloading files

When I download/upload file via HTTP and using SSL, is my attached file sent encrypted or SSL is only for message itself? In other words I download file from https://myfoo.com/myfile.txt <-- will this file be encrypted during transmission?

Yes the transmission is encrypted.
SSL is about encrypting the mediumin network layer, aka the content of the tcp packets, not end to end encryption; so your file will be transmitted in an encrypted form along with other control data. But on the client side when put together you don't have to do further decryption.
