Cost Comparing both production version

Dear gurus,
Cost estimation is runned for the BOM with version 001 and saved, againn iam running the cost estimation for the same material with BOM version 002 and saved.
In the above case i need to see the report of cost estimation comparison for both the BOM.
how to i see this one
Regards,
s.sakthivel

Dear Sakthivel subramanian,
Once after executing CK11N for the respective production version you will get the itemization for the
material and you export that into a spreedsheet or a local file as per your need.
In the same way do it for each production version and save the datas as a local file and compare it.
check and revert back.

  • Costing variant and production version

We have two costing variants "C" (used to create current cost estimates) and "F" (Used to create Future cost estimate). All of the production versions in the system have a validity date of 9999. Is there a way to tell the system to use one production version when costing using Variant C and another version when costing is done using variant F.
Or if that is not possibel than how do we use one production version in 2011 while recosting current standards and another production version in 2012. (Remember the production version that we are using currently in 2011 has a validity date of 9999)
    Regards

    Hi
In your Costing Variant - You have a tab callled "Qty Structure Control".... Here you can specify BOM Determination and Routing Selection id.... i.e. If the BOM / Routing attached to the prod version can be assigned a specific BOM Determination Class and Routing Selection id, it can work
    OR ELSE
While doing CK11N, you can manually specify the Prod Version in the "Qty Struct" Tab..... Create an LSMW for CK11N and you can do a mass costing like CK40N.... CK40N does not have this option of specifying Prod Version
    I would prefer 2nd option

  • REM Product cost collectors and Production version

    Hi All,
Can some one pls let me know
What are the product cost collectors in REM and how to create the product cost collectors ?
What is the production version and the difference between production version and controlling version?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Bujji

    Dear Bujji,
A product cost collector is a cost object in Product Cost by Period that collects the periodic actual costs incurred in the production of a material. It can be created in txn KKF6N.
    [Product Cosr Collector|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/EN/08/77ba810a1611d3a6b900104b55d538/frameset.htm]
[Product Cost Collectors: Collective Entry for Repetitive Manufacturing |http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/EN/08/77ba810a1611d3a6b900104b55d538/frameset.htm]
A production version determines the various production techniques that can be used to produce a material. It defines the following information:
Alternative BOM for a BOM explosion
Task list type, task list group, and group counter for assignment to task lists
Lot-size restrictions and period of validity
A material can have one or more production versions.
It can be defined in the Material Master (txn MM02) in one of the following views:
    MRP 4
    Work Scheduling
    Costing 1
The costing version is a different issue. It is a costing parameter and is used to save several cost estimates for the same material, with the same costing variant and the same costing date (e.g. in oder to cost the material several times with minor changes without creating new costing variants).

  • MRP Run with production version.

    Hi Experts;
I am working as a member of a SAP implementation supporting team. The client wants to run MRP with alternative BOM, not with the 1st BOM. As a solution for the requirement i created production versions and assigned to MD61 schedule line tab. It is working properly.
But the user maintain some quantity as a safety stock for finished materials also. To cover the safety stock requirement, system create planned orders with the 1st BOM, not the production version.Already i have maintained the selection method "3" in material master.
Is it possible to cover safety stock with alternative BOM.
    Please help..
    Thanks,
    Malka

    Hello Malka,
    For your issue,,
As per other expert suggested you can block the first production version but if in future you want use first production then,,
In these case you maintain production version in many way
    Ex.
    1.  Lot size .(if production version using for specific lot)
Maintain the Lot for both production version, so Production version 1 lot completed system take       second production version.
    2. Production version validity date (If production version using for specific period )
In this case after completion of 1. Production version period system take second one
    3. Manually selection of production version (If multiple production version and all have same condition)
Whenever you convert the planned order to production order, one pop up come and ask for                manually selection for Production version, for this you go to OPL8 and select the Manually                production version
I hope this information cover your all requirement, No need to go with quota arrangement
Still you want know about the Quota arrangement, Please create new thread so other expert also provide their view

  • Costing - Multiple Production Versions and Recursive BoMs

    Hi All,
We have a production and product costing scenario as follows:
Production versions 10, 20 and 30. It takes all three versions to manufacture the finished material and there are no intermediate products in this scenario. 10 and 30 are to be costed and 30 is a recursive BoM with the input from version 10 also being the output. 10 is the main production step with components but 30 is a recursive BoM sometimes only with the output material as the input and sometimes with a more complete BoM but which includes the output material as an input component.
The quantity input appears to be the same as quantity output for the recursive element.
If anyone has come across this scenario and you can let me know what design principles you followed I would appreciate it.
We are getting iteration error messages when costing production version 30 and even reducing the input quantity below 95% of the input as per the SAP documentation does not fix the error message.
Any help you can give will be greatefully received.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Tim

Murali - Its possible to use multiple PV in sub contracting.
    Settings in ERP :
    1. In CFC9 activate the - Transfer multiple selection of PDS indicator. When you select this indicator, the system allows you to select several productions versions in the integration model; it also creates a Production Process Model (PPM) or Production Data Structure (PDS) for each production version in SAP SCM
    2. Assign the PV's to the subcontracting info record through -  Logistics  - Central Functions  - Supply Chain Planning Interface - Core Interface - Advanced Planner and Optimizer - Environment  - Data Transfer  -Assign Multiple Production Versions
    3. When you select the integration model parameters for PDS, you have selected PP/DS Subcontracting as the PDS Type value. Similarly, for PPM, you have selected Subcontracting PPM as the Type of PPM value.
Subcontracting with multiple production versions is supported. However, the integration with an SAP ERP system requires at least SAP ERP 2005 with Enhancement Pack 03.

  • Costing and Production Version

I am doing a costing run for material that has more than one production version defined for it. I want the costing run to pick up by default a prod version that we want to use for costing. However, it does not pick that up by default and instead we have to manually assign it in CK11n. Is there any way to make that Production Version default in the costing run. Please let me know. Thank you

    Hi,
You can maintain the default Production version in Material Master - Costing1 View, under Quantity Structure section.
Hope this helps... Reward your points,

  • Production Version in costing run.

    Dear all,
We are using 3 production versions for a single material. We have made costing run for all the 3 versions. But we found the system considering the last production version in the costing run. we need all the three production versions to be used ,so kindly suggest how to go with .
When we run CK24, there is no option to select the version. Even if we have the option, please tell us how the cost will get updated in the material master for all the 3 production versions.
    Thanks & Regards,
    A.Anandarajan.

    Hi,
I think you want to have a costing, which considers a mix of different ways of producing a product. Here you want to have a mix of the 2 production versions. To do this, you need to use use what we call 'mixed costing'. Here you can define a 'mix' of
different ways to build a product. In abstract X% of method A and Y% percent method B. What I called 'method A' or method 'B' is what you now call a prod.version. In SAP mixed costing it is called 'Procurement Alternative'. I think this is the right tool to solve your problems.
    For further documentation see:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en//7e/cb938143a311d189ee0000e81ddfac/frameset.htm
The method you are using now 'costing with prod.version A' and 'costing with prod.version B' lets the last costing be the winner, because the last one overwrites the results of the predecessor.

  • Use of different production versions for MRP and costing

    Dear PP Gurus ,
We have a scenario in which there are multiple production versions for a particular product .The MRP run as welll as costing run considers only the production version 0001.
We would like the system to consider different production versions for MRP and costing ..that is 0001 for MRP and 0005 for costing .
Is this possible ... if yes ...Kindly suggest the config and master settings for this to happen .
    Ram ~

    Dear Ramakrishna,
For doing the costing for a specific production version use CK11N,under quantity structure tab key you
can assign the prod.version which is to be used for costing purpose.
While taking MRP if you want to consider the particular Prod.version, assign the demand to the
correct prod.version under schedule line tab in MD61.
Otherwise the system always picksup the first prod.version for MRP.
One more alternative is you have to lock the other prod.versions if you want the system to consider a
    particular prod.version.
    Check and revert back.

  • Variance due to Two Production Versions

    Dear Experts,
I am working for a cement Industry. We are having one FG Material. The material can be produced from two sources (Kinl1 & Kiln2).
Every month we produce the material from both the sources. 2 production orders will be created every month one for Kiln1 & another for Kiln2.
Standard cost estimate has been run for production version 1 (ie. Kiln1).
When activites are booked in production order 2 (i.e Kiln2) a huge variance is comming after settlement. Reason is
at the time of booking the activites its taking the activity price of Kiln1 and at the time of settlement its settling against kiln2 activity price due to which a huge variance is happening.
Kindly guide on how to resolve the situation since creating differenet material for kiln1&kiln2 is not feasible.
    Thanks

    Hi,
I think there is no problem in system behaviour. If you have two alternative production methods for a single product and one is cheaper than the other, you will eventually have to deal with and explain the variance. If some of the time you produce with high activity prices, I suppose you have your own justifications regarding this choice such as capacity constraints and delivery schedules. Suppose if you run cost calculation with a third production version (maybe with a third dummy source) which is in the middle of the two versions form cost perspective, you may lower the variance of second alternative with respect to standart cost, however difference of the actual costs of the two alternatives will not change. To summarize, if your data is correct (activity prices etc.) either try to produce with the cheaper version or document your justifications well.

  • Creation of inspection lot 04 depending on production version

    Hi Experts,
could you tell me if it is possible to create a Good Receipt inspection (lot origin 04) depending on the production version used ?
My material has 2 production versions:
0001 - production with process order
0002 - production with repetitve manufacturing
When I do a GR on process order, I do not want to create an inspection lot 04.
When I do a GR on product cost collector, I want to create an inspection lot 04.
As I have entered inspection types in material master data, I do not know how to do the distinction ?

  • Production Version of Co Product

    Hi,
I have got one main product and one co product. Main product has got many Production Version based on lot size. When I do costing for the main product ,it picks the right PV based on the lot size. But in case of co product costing it picks the first PV of main product only irrespective of lot size. Why ?

    Shahnawaz,
Why you are doing seperate costing for CO-Product, when you do costing for main product it should do cost roll-up for the co-product also. Please check

  • Production Version in Material Master

    Hi,
I am having problems with this.
I need to either change date on a production version or
    delete the product version.
I have tried using a batch input sequence from my program both for changing the date
and for deleting the production version and this all works well.
Now this isn't good enough since there can be multiple production versions on a material
and I don't know which line to change or delete in the batch run.
Is there a good FM or BAPI to handle this?
I don't want to change the MKAL table directly since there is a history table
    connected to this also (MKAL_AEND).
    What is the best approach?
    Rgds,
    /Fredrik.

How can I use this to achieve what I want to do, either
change the production version date or delete the production version?
I have tried C223, but this is not good enough, nor is batch run in MM02.
I can have multiple production versions and can not pick the correct line
in batch run to change or delete.

  • Scrap Valuation Report by Production Version.

    Dear All.,
Need the suggetions & help to me on the below mentioned scenario.
    Scenario
My Client into MFG sector. What ever the material produced by my client is have different production versions. Moreover, we have multiple plant in which few are Repetitive Mfg with Product Cost Collectors & few are Discreat MFG Process.
As we will get the scrap values after each confirmation by Qty & Value.
So, the user is asking the report on SCRAP for all the stages of Product (Structure in CS11) by Production Version Wise.
    Current Availability
We have standard Reports like KKFB, KOBB, KRM, S_ALR_87012151 - 52, S_ALR_87013148-49 & even in the cost estimate (CK11N) which are giving the Scrap details by Quatity & Value as well. But those value are limited to only one Prodcution Version.
    Requirement
I want the details on HOW CAN WE GET the SCRAP detailed analysis at Product Hierarchy with reference to all Production Versions.
Pls Give some inputs on this.

  • How to select the production versions for MTO?

    Hi PP Experts,
In our scenario we have two production versions and also we are in MTO strategy. While creating the sales order is there any option to select the production version (i.e.) before planning for that corresponding sales order I have to choose the production versions.
    Example:
    Material u2013 A  -
    sale order u2013 666001 u2013Prod version - 0001
    Material u2013 A --- sale order u2013 666002 u2013 prod version - 0002
How to map the above scenario?

If the Production version selection is based on Lot size means No problem.
If both the Production version is same lot size, system will select the first PV only in MRP
In STD SAP, we can't Give Production Version  in sale order level,
If you want after MRP run , U can assign Production version in plan order or in production order Manually
