Costing in SAP B1

Dear SAP Gurus,
Can you please explain me how to confire the Costing part.
The client wants to capture the cost involved in transporation of goods from factory to customer place.

You may check Landed Cost functions first. However, that is mostly used in purchase goods from Vendor. If it is occurred to customer, I am afraid only freight with each sales might by added to COGS accounts which will not be linked to items.

Product Costing in SAP Retail Solution

Hi experts
I have a question about product costing in SAP Retail (SAP ECC 6.0).
In material master data (Tr. MM43 - Tr. MM42) Product Costing view for Logistics:CD sheet is activated.
Although, for Logistics:Store sheet is not activated.
In customizing, we have tried to activate the Product Costing view for Logistics:Store sheet, but there no standard dynpro to use it. So, we have some doubts:
- Do we have to create customer (Z) dynpros in order to activate Product Costing view for Logistics:Store sheet?
- Does SAP allows Product Costing functionality in SAP Retail solution?
If both answers are YES, i have another doubt:
- In our business scenario, the store is supplied by the Distribution Center. So, does it make sense to run product costing for
a articles in a Store?
We think it makes sense to apply product costing functionality in Distribution center. In order to analyze deviations from
Standard costs to real costs. But we are not sure about Stores.
Does anyone have experience in customizing product costing functionality for a SAP retail in a Logistics:Store?

Product hierarchy in R3 is termed as Merchandise category hierarchy in SAP IS retail
But in R3 Product hierarchy is not used much but Merchandise category hierarchy that is termed as MCH is a basic thing reqd for defining master data that is article master data which is nothing but material master in R3
As i said Product hierarchy levels are available in R3 also but not much used
Merchandise category hierarchy levels is most commonly used in SAP IS retail
What we call material group in R3 is same as Merchandise category in SAP IS retail and material in R3 is article in Retail
Merchandise category hierarchy levels
Say a Retail mall has merchandise items
Under merchandise there are 2 divisions Food and non food
Under nonfood say there are 2 divisions say hardware and apparel
Under apparel there 2 divisions say Mens wear and ladies wear
Under mens wear you have t shirts,shirts and pants etc
Here t shirts,shirts and pants etc are individual articles
Menswear and ladies wear are material groups
Hardware and apparel are merchandise hierarchy level 1
Food and non food merchandise hierarchy level 2
Retail mall is merchandise hierarchy level 3
like that hierarchy levels are commonly defined and used as a must to have efficient master data in SAP retail and the maximum no of hierarchy to have ideally is 6 apart from Merchandise category
In our example we have defined three levels
The same functionality can be used as product hierarchy in R3 also but doesnt been put in to use much
In Retail the no of articles a store is going to manage to be will be huge hence this sort of seggregation is needed there must

The prices for those are done "negotiating" with your local SAP sales person.

Lots of variables... yearly licensing fees or full purchase, R/3 or complete NetWeaver suite, single user or multi-user, several levels of support or no support, implementation partner expenses, types of hardware, etc....
EDIT:
I just noticed you said "one software company". There are other options if you want to be a "partner". It is one thing to use the software to run your company, it is another if you want the software because your company wants to develop add-ons.

Actually costing is done for the Materials, BoM components and Operations occured in routing with direct and Indirect Labor costs (Labor Activity - Maintained in KP26).
First thing you need to maintain the cost (future) in standared Material Master data. Then you need to run CK11N to run the costing and CK24 to release the costing. Same way you need to cost for the header data you need to use in Production order.
Get your FI/MM help for period opening if you face any period posting error.
What affect does costing run has on it.
If Material/Assembly doesnt cost you cant able to receive the Material to the Inventory.
Check and revert back.

The training and certification cost depends on your mode of training for CO . The certification fee is going to be the same , but the training going will vary. the training can be availed through classroom and e-learning. Better you cna contact to Siemens / Genovate or any SAP authorised training center. There you can get the details.the classroom trining is always going to be higher to e-learning.Classroom is going to touch you some around three lakhs indian rupees including your certification cost.

the maintanance cost include the possibility
that if you pay the maintenace fee regularly you can always get the
newest software releadse and the support packages and kernel for it.

How to upload the RM and PM budjeted cost in sap.

             Could you please suggest me , how to upload the 2008 budjeted cost(RM/PM) in sap, One way i can upload the budjet Through materi master( costing2 tab) ie planed price1 or 2 , Please suggest me is there any other way to upload the Budjeted cost of (RM/PM), or if i upload in planed price 2 is there any effect in future. Production cost in SAP

Hi,
i have calculated the standard price of product in SAP. but at the end my production cost seems very high and i don't understand why
this is what i did:
first i upload the budget in the system in KP06 for the full year
i upload the quantities of activities in KP26 for the full year also
then i run the assessment cycle to bring the budget at the level of the "production cost center"
then i splitted the budget per activity in KSS4, to get the budget of each activity/cost center.
i calculated the price of activities in KSPI.
then i run CK40N, to calculate the standard price of the different product.
but my problem is that:
why when i make the sum of all the production cost for all the product, i don't find again the initial budget i put in the system?

Try transaction RKACSHOW, see note 28145. RKACSHOW shows all the tables that are updated on an order.

Costing - in SAP PS

Dear SAP PS Experts,
We have a requirement that we need to do cost calculation based on certain rules.
i.e. There are equipments and each equipment has certan length and type. Each equipment incurrs cost based on length and type. e.g. one equipment with 5 meter length and type 'Z' will incur 5 * 30 = 150 USD (example), another equipment with 5 meter length and type 'Y' will incur 5*40= 200 USD etc. The cost is function of type and length. I need to integrate PS with equipments, capture such details and calculate the total cost. Can anyone please suggest appropriate way to model this and how to make use of SAP PS?

I am using SAP ECC 6.0 EHP 4. I wanted to know if Easy Cost Planning in SAP PS can be used to cost a project initially while Tendering process.Or is there any other tcodes in SAP for tender process? I created Costing Models for most of the possible processes in a civil project and included the labour cost,equipment cost and material cost in it.By this way can we proceed implementing SAP in our tendering department.Looking forward for your valuable replies.

SAP has easycost planning objects available to cater to it. Process starts with inquiry.
1) Create inquiry for customer request. Define service material in material field in VA11
2) Create Project copying closest executed in part ( you have said 70% is engineered fresh, then project is 30 % correct at the time of copying)
3) Amend project to add/chnage/delete components & network activities. Add miilestone payment you wish to propose in quotation.
5) Add project no in inquiry (Accoutn assignment in Line item )
4) Use DP81 traxn to create quotation.Easy-cost planning need to be configured to calculate price( Cost+ mark up scenario possible) There are possibilites to pull as many deatils as you wish in quotation ( As line items) from project structure. It is possible to list major assemblies that will be delivered to customer( Make- To - Order variations). It is also possible to replace Service item used in inquiry with 'Material masters' of FERT & itemization in Quotation. Milestone dates from project will be copied you can propose % billing arrangement at each date to customer.
5) Able to revise quotation seamlessly & resond to customer changes/addtioal request. Revised quotation reflects your ability understand customer request & changes are seamlessly reflected in qty, total price & dates.
6) Upon confirmation of Sale, Sales order can be created copying quotation. All hard work/ iteration of commnucation with customer , need not be defined in system again. Order Acknowledgement will reflect agreements with customer.
SAP E C & O best practice has few more addtion for Civil project ... how to measure % completion based on Mortar used & daily output of cement mixing. That will help,

How to reduce cost for SAP Fiori Trial on CAL?

I have created an account in Cloud Appliance Library with AWS as per OpenSAP Course.
It's showing the cost per hour as 3.30 USD and per month 2379.20 USD.
Can anyone suggest me how to reduce this cost per month to the minimum.
I can't pay this much amount.
Please guide how to utilize this at the optimum w.r.t to the cost.

The easiest way to optimize the costs is to suspend the instance when not used. The scheduling options in SAP CAL could help here.

My Client requirement he has to see the costs individual ( I,E man power costs and material costs) of PM order.
Is there any standard report in sap to view these costs individually.

Greetings Varma,
You need to set up Value Categories. You need to go to SPRO > Plant Maintenance > Maintenance and Service Processing > Basic Settings > Settings for display of Costs > Maintain Value Categories and Assign Cost Elements to Value Categories
You can set up Cost Element groups in KAH1 with the help of your FICO consultant if neccessary.
After that you should be able to see costs broken up into categories on the individual Orders in the Costs tab.
To view a report for this you will need to set up PMIS.
Go to SPRO > Plant Maintenance > Information Systems for Plant Maintenance and Customer Service > Assign Value Categories to Maintenance Cost Key Figures and assign your Value Categories to the Key Figures respectively.
You will then be able to run MCI8 and view the costs broken down by the categories as well as Order type, period etc.
