Could anyone explain THAT???

Hi guys, well I was heaving a lot of trouble with my 13 macbook, after it went back from the tech support to fix the famous ramdon shut downs it started to have random slowdowns, I went to an age of exploring mainatence tools, I went trought wall of them, onyx, disk warrior, tech4, iDefrag, I reseted the pram the vram , and nothing. I did a clean reinstall of the system, updated, I got smcfancontrol to set my fans to max speed (it could be the hot weather making the processor slow by temperature) but nothhing could get me away from the rainbow beachdisk of death. But then I decided to try windows xp with bootcamp, and guess what?? Perfect smothness, even with hardcore cpu usage. Could anyone just give me an idea of what this could be?? By the way, last week my battery just died (another usual mac defect) and I had to call the stupid tech guys again that never help me and guess what, one month and apple dont even reply me. but ok, thats another thred, can anyone just wonder why macbook works fine with xp?

these are very intense slowsdowns, that makes impossible to continue to work, it makes you stuck for minutes in each action you take. These slowdowns didnt exited when I bought the macbook, and now they appear even if I am just surfing the web with 1 windows in some simple sites.
The only explanation I can imagine is some kind of conflict between the new logic board the tech guys instaled to fix the random shutdown, but some kind of issue somewhat related to the osx too, this is too wierd, apple is a big lie, there is a big worm inside this apple, this is pure marketing bulshit, I will never buy an apple produtc, and I know that a lot of people are having terrible experiences with all apple produtcs. They could have been something in the late 80 and begining of the 90, but now they are totaly crap, I wish I could just recive my money back. Apple is just a fancy toy for grown up kids, it is not a pro tool. it is a toy

    This worked for someone
    I had this problem for about six weeks. I was following this forum but was too unsure of what might happen to try the fixes that were suggested.
    About two weeks ago I decided to delete the downloads.28.sqlitedb file (usingDiskAid(a free program), on a PC running Windows 7). The original downloads.28.sqlitedb was 936 KB. The new one that the system created is 80 Kb., and has stayed at about that size. After about four days I also deleted all the other contents of the Download folder. Ten days later and still no more problems. Downloads are much quicker, nothing greys-out (as was happening frequently before).
    Everything has worked well since with no more error messages.
    I am using an iPod 4G, iOS 5.1 (originally iOS 5.0). I do not have a manifest file, and as far as I know, have not had one. DiskAid can search the whole "hard drive" on the iPod.
    Deleting downloads.28.sqlitedb and the contents of Downloads worked for me.

          FileReader fr = new FileReader( "input.txt" );
          BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(fr);
          int c;
          while  ( (c = br.read()) != -1)  // end of the file?
           char upperC = Character.toUpperCase((char)c);
    int a = Character.getNumericValue((char)upperC)-10;         if(a >= 0 && a <=25)
             amount[a] = amount[a] + 1;
    // loop for printing out the values of the counting array
       for(int i=0; i < amount.length; i++)
           System.out.println(  refAlpha[i] +": " + amount[i] + "\n" );
           fr.close();
    catch(FileNotFoundException e)
      System.out.println("File not found");
      catch(IOException e)
    }

    You need to read the API documentation to find out what getNumericValue() is returning.
    Quoting from there:
    The letters A-Z in their uppercase ('\u0041' through '\u005A'), lowercase ('\u0061' through '\u007A'), and full width variant ('\uFF21' through '\uFF3A' and '\uFF41' through '\uFF5A') forms have numeric values from 10 through 35.

  • A site I use every day told me today that it would only open in 32-bit mode.  I cannot change this in system preferencees as suggested.  Could anyone explain to me why suddenly, and how to change this? (MacBook Pro 10.6.8) Thanks!

    Hi.  I am in need of advice - and am not very IT savvy!  I have a MacBook Pro 10.6.8 OS.  A site I use every day told me today it would only open in 32-bit mode.  I researched and found some advice on how to choose 32-bit mode in system preferences.  I do not have that box to click in system preferences.  Can anyone tell me as to why suddenly this has happened, and any suggestions on how to go back to 32-bit mode would be great!  I did try restarting holding down the 3 & 2 keys as suggested too.  No luck.  Thanks for any help.

    Does the site use 32-bit mode Java? If that's the case, you should have both 32 and 64-bit enabled though Java Preferences in your Utilities folder:

    Hi,
    Can anyone please explain the below behaviour. Is it some binary conversion issue?

    It's rounding error.
    You know how you can't represent 1/3 exactly in base-10? Well, in the same fashion, many numbers that can be represented exactly in base-10 can't be represented exactly in base-2 (for example, 0.1).

  • HT201210 hi, l tried restoring my iphone 4s n have got erro code 4013,could u explain that pls

    hi l m trying to restore my iphone 4s and is coming up as erro 4013,what shd l do?

    Sounds like you have a battry issue but don't want to believe it.
    If a car was running fine on one tank of gas, then you filled it up with another tank of gas and it began to run funny, one might suspect that tank of gas. But let's just say coincidence blew a valve-- would you think the new tank of gas was the culprit?
    BUT WAIT!! It just might have been! The gas could have been of higher octane and put more more strain on the valves; you know, like going from 87 octane (OS6) to 93 octane (OS7) and showing you the engine was on the edge of compromise.
    Sometimes you have to go with common sense. If everything else is ruled out, it must be the battery. And if it runs fine one moment in OS6 but immediately ***** in OS7, I'd believe my battery was suspect-- though comfy-- in OS6 but the OS7 showed its true power.
    Moreover, if you had the answer-- or didn't want to believe someone's more competent advice-- why did you even call?  You've already shown that you don't know much when you asked if you could go backwards after setting up the new OS as a new phone.
    Additonally, if you're such the know-it-all, but yourself the $29 battery and put it in yourself. It's a piece of cake.

  • Could anyone explain to me the last part of these instructions.

    Helo Experts,
    I am trying to implement a calendar in forms 6i but can't really understand how to do the deployment.
    It is as follows:
    You should perform the follwing steps to install and configure the JavaBean for development and deployment in an Oracle Forms Server application:
    * Copy the entire oracle directory and its subdirectories from the classes directory to the <ORACLE_HOME>\orant\forms60\java directory. This will place the class files for the JavaBean in the location where the Oracle Form Builder can locate them at development time.
    * Place the JavaBean JAR file (CalendarWidget.jar) in the codebase directory being used to deploy Oracle Forms Server 6i applications. This will allow the client machine to download the class files for use at runtime.
    * Modify the HTML page being used to launch the Oracle Forms application to reference the JAR file in the ARCHIVE tag. This should be in addition to the standard Oracle Forms Server JAR Files and notifies the client JVM which archive files it must download before starting the application.
    <ARCHIVE = "f60all.jar, CalendarWidget.jar">
    Thanks

    Kevin,
    Is your Forms 6i application deployed to the web or is it Client/Server (CS)? If it is CS, this method will not work. If deployed to the web, then you need to modify the Forms configuration so it knows where your Java Archive (JAR) file is located.
    In order to deploy your application to the web, you must have an Application Server. The following instructions apply to the Application Sever, not your development workstation.
    >
    * Copy the entire oracle directory and its subdirectories from the classes directory to the <ORACLE_HOME>\orant\forms60\java directory. This will place the class files for the JavaBean in the location where the Oracle Form Builder can locate them at development time.>
    I'm not sure I totally understand why you would need to copy all of the class files to the <ORACLE_HOME>/FORMS60/JAVA directory, but OK. Typically, you just need to copy the .jar file to this directory. When deployed to the web, your Forms application is converted to a Java Applet. All of the Java files needed to perform this converstion and run your Form App are located in this directory.
    >
    * Place the JavaBean JAR file (CalendarWidget.jar) in the codebase directory being used to deploy Oracle Forms Server 6i applications. This will allow the client machine to download the class files for use at runtime.>
    The Client workstations must have a compatible Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed. Forms 6i is only compatable with Oracle's JInitiator and comes shipped with version 1.1.7.31. In order for your Calendar to work you must copy the CalendarWidget.jar file to the /FORMS60/JAVA directory.
    >
    * Modify the HTML page being used to launch the Oracle Forms application to reference the JAR file in the ARCHIVE tag. This should be in addition to the standard Oracle Forms Server JAR Files and notifies the client JVM which archive files it must download before starting the application.
    <ARCHIVE = "f60all.jar, CalendarWidget.jar">>
    I think this instruction is in error. The Jar files are typically listed in the /FORMS60/SERVER/formsweb.cfg file. Again, this change needs to be made to the file on the App Server. Open the formsweb.cfg and scroll to the USER PARAMETERS section. Find the ARCHIVE=, ARCHIVE_JINIT= and ARCHIVE_IE= variables and add ", CalendarWidget.jar" to each entry. (without the quotes - of course. :) )
    Hope this helps,
    Craig B-)

  • Worlflow and BSP ... Could anyone explain why we need BSP?

    Hi,
    One of our customer wants to implement workflow using BSP. I dont have experience in BSP. So wanted to know why do we need BSP? If the customer has Portal do we still need BSP?
    Is there anything which can be achieved in BSP which cannot be achieved via portal? I searched SDN and found a useful weblog by Raja
    /people/raja.thangamani/blog/2007/03/27/bsp-with-workflow-part-i
    However i am still not clear why do we need BSP. I was thinking if there is a way i can convince the customer to use Portal over BSP. Any help is much appreciated.
    Cheers

    Hi,
    To take action upon a workitem from SAP Inbox or from portals you need to first login into SAP or portals.
    But if you go for BSP applications, you don't need to take action via SAPGUI. You can simply go for web browser and take action from there.

  • Could anyone tell me what is a class

    Hi gurus,
                  could anyone explain me in detail what does a class mean (se24) in sap and for what it is used? i have tried my best to know about it. it is like greek and latin to me.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ramana

    Classes describe objects. From a technical point of view, objects are runtime instances of a class. In theory, you can create any number of objects based on a single class. Each instance (object) of a class has a unique identity and its own set of values for its attributes.
    classes consist of ABAP source code, enclosed in the ABAP statements CLASS ... ENDCLASS. A complete class definition consists of a declaration part and, if required, an implementation part. The declaration part of a class <class> is a statement block:
    CLASS <class> DEFINITION.
    ENDCLASS.
    It contains the declaration for all components (attributes, methods, events) of the class. When you define local classes, the declaration part belongs to the global program data. You should therefore place it at the beginning of the program.
    If you declare methods in the declaration part of a class, you must also write an implementation part for it. This consists of a further statement block:
    CLASS <class> IMPLEMENTATION.
    ENDCLASS.
    The implementation part of a class contains the implementation of all methods of the class. The implementation part of a local class is a processing block. Subsequent coding that is not itself part of a processing block is therefore not accessible.
    Structure of a Class
    The following statements define the structure of a class:
    A class contains components
    Each component is assigned to a visibility section
    Classes implement methods
    The following sections describe the structure of classes in more detail.
    Class Components
    The components of a class make up its contents. All components are declared in the declaration part of the class. The components define the attributes of the objects in a class. When you define the class, each component is assigned to one of the three visibility sections, which define the external interface of the class. All of the components of a class are visible within the class. All components are in the same namespace. This means that all components of the class must have names that are unique within the class.
    There are two kinds of components in a class - those that exist separately for each object in the class, and those that exist only once for the whole class, regardless of the number of instances. Instance-specific components are known as instance components. Components that are not instance-specific are called static components.
    In ABAP Objects, classes can define the following components. Since all components that you can declare in classes can also be declared in interfaces, the following descriptions apply equally to interfaces.
    Attributes
    Attributes are internal data fields within a class that can have any ABAP data type. The state of an object is determined by the contents of its attributes. One kind of attribute is the reference variable. Reference variables allow you to create and address objects. Reference variables can be defined in classes, allowing you to access objects from within a class.
    Instance Attributes
    The contents of instance attributes define the instance-specific state of an object. You declare them using the DATA statement.
    Static Attributes
    The contents of static attributes define the state of the class that is valid for all instances of the class. Static attributes exist once for each class. You declare them using the CLASS-DATA statement. They are accessible for the entire runtime of the class.
    All of the objects in a class can access its static attributes. If you change a static attribute in an object, the change is visible in all other objects in the class.
    Methods
    Methods are internal procedures in a class that define the behavior of an object. They can access all of the attributes of a class. This allows them to change the data content of an object. They also have a parameter interface, with which users can supply them with values when calling them, and receive values back from them The private attributes of a class can only be changed by methods in the same class.
    The definition and parameter interface of a method is similar to that of function modules. You define a method <met> in the definition part of a class and implement it in the implementation part using the following processing block:
    METHOD <meth>.
    ENDMETHOD.
    You can declare local data types and objects in methods in the same way as in other ABAP procedures (subroutines and function modules). You call methods using the CALL METHOD statement.
    Instance Methods
    You declare instance methods using the METHODS statement. They can access all of the attributes of a class, and can trigger all of the events of the class.
    Static Methods
    You declare static methods using the CLASS-METHODS statement. They can only access static attributes and trigger static events.
    Special Methods
    As well as normal methods, which you call using CALL METHOD, there are two special methods called CONSTRUCTOR and CLASS_CONSTRUCTOR, which are automatically called when you create an object (CONSTRUCTOR) or when you first access the components of a class (CLASS_CONSTRUCTOR).
    Events
    Objects or classes can use events to trigger event handler methods in other objects or classes. In a normal method call, one method can be called by any number of users. When an event is triggered, any number of event handler methods can be called. The link between the trigger and the handler is not established until runtime. In a normal method call, the calling program determines the methods that it wants to call. These methods must exist. With events, the handler determines the events to which it wants to react. There does not have to be a handler method registered for every event.
    The events of a class can be triggered in the methods of the same class using the RAISE EVENT statement. You can declare a method of the same or a different class as an event handler method for the event <evt> of class <class> using the addition FOR EVENT <evt> OF <class>.
    Events have a similar parameter interface to methods, but only have output parameters. These parameters are passed by the trigger (RAISE EVENT statement) to the event handler method, which receives them as input parameters.
    The link between trigger and handler is established dynamically in a program using the SET HANDLER statement. The trigger and handlers can be objects or classes, depending on whether you have instance or static events and event handler methods. When an event is triggered, the corresponding event handler methods are executed in all registered handling classes.
    Instance Events
    You declare instance events using the EVENTS statement. An instance event can only be triggered in an instance method.
    Static Events
    You declare static events using the CLASS-EVENTS statement. All methods (instance and static methods) can trigger static events. Static events are the only type of event that can be triggered in a static method.
    See also Triggering and Handling Events.
    Types
    You can define your own ABAP data types within a class using the TYPES statement. Types are not instance-specific, and exist once only for all of the objects in a class.
    Constants
    Constants are special static attributes. You set their values when you declare them, and they can then no longer be changed. You declare them using the CONSTANTS statement. Constants are not instance-specific, and exist once only for all of the objects in a class.
    Visibility Sections
    You can divide the declaration part of a class into up to three visibility areas:
    CLASS <class> DEFINITION.
      PUBLIC SECTION.
      PROTECTED SECTION.
      PRIVATE SECTION.
    ENDCLASS.
    These areas define the external visibility of the class components, that is, the interface between the class and its users. Each component of a class must be assigned to one of the visibility sections.
    Public Section
    All of the components declared in the public section are accessible to all users of the class, and to the methods of the class and any classes that inherit from it. The public components of the class form the interface between the class and its users.
    Protected Section
    All of the components declared in the protected section are accessible to all methods of the class and of classes that inherit from it. Protected components form a special interface between a class and its subclasses. Since inheritance is not active in Release 4.5B, the protected section currently has the same effect as the private section.
    Private Section
    Components that you declare in the private section are only visible in the methods of the same class. The private components are not part of the external interface of the class.

    This appears to be a Windows 8 system. The two system partitions hold system information that allows the computer to boot up, among other things and also contains the information used in the UEFI diagnostic program accessed with F2 as the system boots. The 25 gig recovery partition holds the original factory image of the software on your computer. It is provided in lieu of the old days when they used to send you a disk to recover your laptop if it ever crashed.

    Greetings,
    I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
    At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
    The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
    I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
    You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.
    Good Luck - Cheers,
    M.
