Could anyone explain to me the last part of these instructions.

I am trying to implement a calendar in forms 6i but can't really understand how to do the deployment.
It is as follows:
You should perform the follwing steps to install and configure the JavaBean for development and deployment in an Oracle Forms Server application:
* Copy the entire oracle directory and its subdirectories from the classes directory to the <ORACLE_HOME>\orant\forms60\java directory. This will place the class files for the JavaBean in the location where the Oracle Form Builder can locate them at development time.
* Place the JavaBean JAR file (CalendarWidget.jar) in the codebase directory being used to deploy Oracle Forms Server 6i applications. This will allow the client machine to download the class files for use at runtime.
* Modify the HTML page being used to launch the Oracle Forms application to reference the JAR file in the ARCHIVE tag. This should be in addition to the standard Oracle Forms Server JAR Files and notifies the client JVM which archive files it must download before starting the application.

Is your Forms 6i application deployed to the web or is it Client/Server (CS)? If it is CS, this method will not work. If deployed to the web, then you need to modify the Forms configuration so it knows where your Java Archive (JAR) file is located.
In order to deploy your application to the web, you must have an Application Server. The following instructions apply to the Application Sever, not your development workstation.

I'm not sure I totally understand why you would need to copy all of the class files to the <ORACLE_HOME>/FORMS60/JAVA directory, but OK. Typically, you just need to copy the .jar file to this directory. When deployed to the web, your Forms application is converted to a Java Applet. All of the Java files needed to perform this converstion and run your Form App are located in this directory.

The Client workstations must have a compatible Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed. Forms 6i is only compatable with Oracle's JInitiator and comes shipped with version 1.1.7.31. In order for your Calendar to work you must copy the CalendarWidget.jar file to the /FORMS60/JAVA directory.

I think this instruction is in error. The Jar files are typically listed in the /FORMS60/SERVER/formsweb.cfg file. Again, this change needs to be made to the file on the App Server. Open the formsweb.cfg and scroll to the USER PARAMETERS section. Find the ARCHIVE=, ARCHIVE_JINIT= and ARCHIVE_IE= variables and add ", CalendarWidget.jar" to each entry. (without the quotes - of course. :) )
