Could not start/run  64-bit JVM on solaris

Hi,
Basically I wanted to increase the heap size of java on solaris to 4GB .
some where I read ,2GB is the max limit for 32-bit JVM,
Hence I used 64-bit setting to start JVM,
I added "-d64" option.
after this ,when I tried to start weblogic (which calls java) ,it failed to start . giving below error
execv(): No such file or directory
Error trying to exec /data/mss/bea/jdk142_04/jre/bin/sparcv9/java.
Check if file exists and permissions are set correctly.
Failed to start a 64-bit JVM process from a 32 bit JVM.
Verify all necessary J2SE components have been installed.
(Solaris SPARC 64-bit components must be installed after 32-bit components.)
Environment details are :
os.arch = sparc
os.name = SunOS
os.version = 5.9
java.version = 1.4.2_04
java.vm.info = mixed mode
java.vm.name = Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM
Can any one help me on this issue.
setting heap size of java on solaris to 4GB ??
Thanks

Well...
Check if file exists and permissions are setcorrectly.
Verify all necessary J2SE components have beeninstalled.
Did you do that?I am logged using su
I think i must be having all permissions .
Is there any way to verify "J2SE components have been installed"

    Hi All,
    Currently we are successfully printing Barcodes in postscript reports for our 11.5.10.2 EBS reports.
    Some of our customers prefer us to send reports in PDF format. however barcodes are not printing in PDF format of the same report?
    Any solution you recommend ?
    Thanks.

  • Could not start SDM Server - another Server may be running already

    Hi
    I have some problems with SDM after upgrade to SP16.
    Right now i can't neither start it, nor change password..
    it has an error but i don't understand it, because i have only one instance and the server is stopped.
    I'm enclosing the error, please, if you have some ideas let me know.
    Thank you.
    Oct 10, 2006 12:34:29... Error: ERROR: Could not start SDM Server - another Server may be running already.
    Oct 10, 2006 12:34:29... Error: Another SDM is running already for this SDM_HOME directory. Exiting. Throwable: com.sap.sdm.client_server.launch.SDMRunningException Throwable message: Another SDM instance is running on this host
    Oct 10, 2006 12:34:29... Error: Could not start SDM. Processing error. Return code: 4

    A lot of thanks of your answer (both of you)..
    None of the prerequisits of the note exists on my system.
    "1)There is a started SDM server on the system. All SDM commands have to be executed when there is no started SDM server. Or SDM port is busy by another application."
    Server is on red color. I had reseted all tha instance, nobody use it, any applications.
    "2)2. The executed command can be run only if SDM is in standalone mode."
    Yes, i ran before the next command:  Execute :
    sdm jstartup "mode=standalone" "sdmhome=C:/usr/sap/<SID>/<Instance>/SDM/program"
    "3. SDM port is busy by another application."
    the port is only used for sdm wich is off...
    Anyway, in order to get the solution, i started with the steps described on the note, but i had a problem with the StopServer.bat
           3.Run
                   StopServer.bat  (for Windows)
    When i run it, i got another message (i though a similar one):
    "Sending shutdown on port 50018
    Shutdown failed: SDM currently runs in monolithic mode. Logons cannot be accepted.
    Could not shutdown server.
    Details: Shutdown failed: SDM currently runs in monolithic mode. Logons cannot be accepted.
    Processing error. Return code:4"
    Any ideas?
    Thank you.

  • Cannot install iTunes 10.7 on Windows 7. Getting "a program required for this install could not be run"--Apple Software Update is not installed, so updating it is not a possible solution.

    I was following the process of unistalling all Apple software and reinstalling iTunes. But I am getting an error that says "a program required for this install could not be run."
    Other threads recommend updating the Apple Software Update module, but that was uninstalled. So if it's part of the problem, updating it is not a solution.
    Windows 7, 64-bit, SP 1 installed.

    For what it's worth, at the point the installation fails, Bonjour, Apple Application Support, and Apple Mobile Device Support all show as installed on Control Panel. Apple Software Update has a link on the Start Menu but does NOT show as installed on Control Panel. Is there a way to install this separately from iTunes?

  • Could not start Agent on a Solaris 5.10u2 x86 machine

    Hi,
    I installed SunMC 3.6.1 on a Solaris 5.10u2 x86 machine. Only Agent

    There's no error during installation and setup, but the agent could not be started.

    Could not start Agent.
    After running svcs -x, I could see:

    How to solve this problem? Any help is appreciated.
    Hal

    Hi Hal, :)
    # /opt/SUNWsymon/sbin/es-start -a
    Could not start Agent.I've seen this before too. "svcadm enable/disable sunmcagent" didn't fix things. But for some reason if I started the agent interactively (es-start -ai) it worked... and I let the Agent load a few modules and verified it worked in the Console. Then once I quit out of interactive mode (thereby stopping the Agent) svcadm enable/disable and es-start/stop worked correctly again.
    I had that happen to me 2-3 times now, and every time mucking about in interactive mode a bit fixed it. It must reset something in svcs.

    Though I made the modification and re-start the OC4J instance, I could see the same error and behavior.
    Can anyone help me to resolve this issue please?
    Regards,
    Kumar

    This is bit strange. It should work. I tested and works fine for me.
    Can you remove the entry from opmn.xml and make sure no typo in server.xml and try again. You might want to reload OPMN (opmnctl reload) and then try restarting OC4J (opmnctl startproc ias-component=OC4J).
    Note that value (-DcheckForUpdates) set in opmn.xml overrides the value set in server.xml:

  • ServiceLayer - Could not start service

    Hello,
    I've just bought Nokia N95 8GB and wanted to install Nokia PC Suite. When installing PC Connectivity Solution there was a window message with title ServiceLayer and text "Could not start service". Afterwards, installation continued and finished "succesfully". Unfortunately I have problem that was posted a few times. I can't connect phone to PC Suite. I tried to Repair PC Connectivity solution, uninstall this and Cable driver and repair Nokia PC Suite, uninstall everything and use later Nokia cleaner etc. Nothing worked. When I go to PC Connectivity Solution and run manually ServiceLayer.exe I get the same message, that "Could not start service". What should I do? Please help me. I do not want to format my HDD and install Windows from the beginning. I use WinXP SP2.

    Hi,
    I've found the cause of the problem. It was firewall - Agnitum Outpost Personal Firewall Pro. I had old version and after installing new version the message dissapeared. As You can see below - one of issues solved was the problem "Outpost Firewall could block installation of services".
    "Outpost Firewall Pro 2008 (build 6.0.2172.214.422.270)
    Release date: November 14, 2007
    The following issues are resolved (only significant ones are listed):
    * Outpost monitor and Outpost Feedback were not registered in startup entries
    * Outpost Firewall could block installation of services
    * Information about crashes could not be sent to Agnitum
    * Rules autocreation did not work on 64-bit systems for applications from ProgramFiles (x86) and SysWOW64 folders
    * Most commonly reported crashes (including crash on content filtering)
    * Error 14001 during installation
    * Rules were applied incorrectly in some cases
    * Address macros could be incorrectly resolved in rules
    * Leaktests SPT 15 and SPT 16 were failed on Vista64
    * Error while importing LAN settings from Outpost Firewall 4.0

    Perhaps let's first try updating your Apple Software Update.
    Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
    If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time?

  • I'm trying to update iTunes to 10.5.2 and I get the message that "a program required for this install to complete could not be run".  I've tried all of the steps to try to resolve this (I have a PC) but nothing works.  Help please!

    I'm trying to update iTunes to 10.5.2.  I have a Windows 7 64-bit Dell laptop, and when I try to update it, I get the message "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package.  A program required for this install to complete could not be run.  Contact your support personnel or package vendor."
    I went to the troubleshooting page and did all of the steps they listed:  uninstalled iTunes, deleted by Temp files, even disabled AVG while I downloaded again and tried to install.  I still get the same message.  If anyone can help me, I would really appreciate it!

    You must have gone to the old microsoft post.
