Counting elements in XML based on search criteria

Hi again,
I been trying to return a count of <c> in a specific <subno> element. I tried the below query but never worked. I managed to do it using XMLTABLE ( '/IN-prov/Subscriber/Subno[@Id="9393983"]/Commands/C'..etc without the node exists function. It works.. but the problem is, its not useful because i cannot change the number dynamically. When I tried it inside a PLSQL code and replaced it with XMLTABLE ( '/IN-prov/Subscriber/Subno[@Id="'||NUMBER||'"]/Commands/C'.. it returned an error because it cannot accept anything else but a string.. so, I tried the below approach with is not working yet..
WITH Param_Xml AS (SELECT xmltype('<IN-prov>
<Subscriber>
<Subno Id="9393983">
<Commands>
<C>
<Head>Head 1</Head>
<Value>Value of head one</Value>
</C>
<C>
<Head>Head 2</Head>
<Value>Value of head 2</Value>
</C>
<C>
<Head>Head 3</Head>
<Value>Value of head 3</Value>
</C>
</Commands>
</Subno>
<Subno Id="9393981">
<Commands>
<C>
<Head>Head 1</Head>
<Value>Value of head one</Value>
</C>
<C>
<Head>Head 2</Head>
<Value>Value of head 2</Value>
</C>
<C>
<Head>Head 3</Head>
<Value>Value of head 3</Value>
</C>
</Commands>
</Subno>
</Subscriber>
</IN-prov>') AS Xmlcol FROM DUAL)
SELECT count(*)
FROM Param_Xml, XMLTABLE ( '/IN-prov/Subscriber/Subno/Commands/C'
PASSING Xmlcol
) U
where existsnode(xmlcol, '/IN-prov/Subscriber[Subno/@Id="9393981"]') =1
Appreciate the help :)

I been trying since yesterday and I rewrote the query again but still no luck.. the new one below.. any idea how i can make it work?
WITH Param_Xml AS (SELECT xmltype('<IN-prov>
<Subscriber>
<Subno Id="9393983">

  • How to implement paging in webdynpro jave based on search criteria.

    Hi All,
    In a requirement I need to implement paging in webdynpro java development.
    I successfully did it when there is no search criteria is available i.e webdynpro fetched all data from the BO object and I did it using a "indexNO" (unique serial no from 1,2,3,4.....) field available in BO object.
    But when there is search criteria available , i.e the data to be fetched from the BO based on some specific field , at that time the "indexNo"  field of all data fetched based on search criteria are discrete i.e not continious. In that case how to implement the paging concept.
    I am using CE version 7.1 EHP 1.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    If you go to your VO and generate the ViewObjectImpl, in there you can create a method which will contain two parameters, 1 the attribute name and 2 the value.
    Then you can follow something like explained in this post:
    ADF Tutorial: How to apply bulk actions to a view object rows
    The only difference is that you will need to create a method like this:
    public void updateAttribute(String attribute, Integer value){
            RowSetIterator iter = createRowSetIterator(null);
            while (iter.hasNext()){
                Row row = iter.next();
                row.setAttribute(attribute, value);
    Then you expose that as a client interface and then after you filter your table by your criteria you just need to execute this method passing the right parameters.

  • How to update all the record for a particular column in a table based on search criteria.

    Hi All,
    I am new to ADF. I have a requirement, where i have to perform mass update on a table.
    Scenario:
    Ex: I have a dept manual search region. where i search with deptId: 20. I get 20 records in my table. now i have  another region where i have a inputchoice list which contains all the columns names that exists in dept table. Beside that i have a input text box and an update button
    Now user, first searches with dept id:20 and clicks on search button, where it shows 20 record in the table. He then select a column from input choicelist(ex: ManagerId), then enters new value in the input box(ex: abc) then clicks on update button.
    Now i want, all the records in the ManagerId column with dept id:20 to be updated with the new value "abc"
    Can anyone help me with the code.

    Hi Aman,
                      You can add a UI field from the view of the search component and write the search logic in any suitable badi. There are many threads based on search . Check in SAP SOlutions-> WEb UI category.

    -Sai

    Hi Greg,
    Thanks for the answer. I am trying to do a search as below.
    Earlier in the blog I mentoned A=a and B=b and (C=c and D=d) where (C=c and D=d) is the search group, but my search is
    A=a and B=b and (C=c and C=d) . C is the same dimension, which is a timestamp field.
    I am getting my results with A=a and B=b and C< c where C is Timestamp field. But my requirment is equal to a date older than two days. So when I try equal A=a and B=b and C=c  it is not working(may be because it is timestamp field and c is a calendar ). So I am trying to do A=a and B=b and (C<c and C>d) so that I get records that fall with in those days. So for (C<c and C>d) I am creating a search group and adding it to search which is not giving me the rows.
    Hope I explained it ok.
    If you know of any samples please let me know.

  • Dynamic element binding between XML based PDF form and WDA context

    Hi Experts,
    I am working on a XML based interactive form.There is a table node in the XML interface which generated by WDA context, and binding on a subform in the PDF form.
    I tried to add instances to the subform using javascript. Unfortunately, I can not get the internal table in WDA.
    If I initialize the table to 10 lines in WDA , and then add 5 line to it in PDF, when I submit the PDF, I can only get 10 lines in the WDA framework. It seems that the element which is create dynamically can not be past to the interface.
    Could you tell me why? And is there any other better solution? I just want build a table in PDF form in runtime and pass it to WDA context.
    Thanks a lot!
    Best Regards,
    Guo Guo Qing

    Hi Thomas,
    Thank you for your reply.
    I think the performance will be a problem if I create the elment in WDA using submit event. I need to create hundreds of record dynamically. I must find some way to reduce the communication between the WDA and PDF form. Maybe I can set a container with a number of elements before the PDF output. Do you have some better ideas?

  • Fetch-Xml based report (to count User Access in the last 6 months ) for Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online

    Hi,
    I have created a User Access report for CRM on-premise using SQl query in the following format. One row corresponds to one user in organization. Currently, I am using Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online trial version and have two users in my organization.
    I want to the same report for CRM Online environment. Only Fetch-Xml based custom reports are supported by CRM online environment hence this SQL query cannot be used.
    I have already written fetch-xml query to retrieve user access records ("audit" entity records) in "last-x-months" (where x = 1,2,3,4,5,6) as below.
    I am able to retrieve the records with "last-x-months" condition at a time, for example, the last-2-months  in my fetch-xml query only.
    For, example, when I retrieve the records in the last-2-months, it also includes the records in the last month. I want to count the records in the 2nd month only that is the difference between these two. The difference will be my 2nd column.
    Similarly, I want the other columns.
    For the case in the above example, I have created the two separate datasets to get the record-count for the last month and last-2-months. But, I am not able to use the two datasets in the same table in my report and hence not able to calculate the difference.
    Is there any way to solve this problem?

    Hi,
    I have modified my Fetch-XML query to retrieve all the required User Access records and removed aggregation and counting and grouping from the query as well. Did grouping and counting in SSRS. Now the report works fine as shown in the above picture.

  • Need - Search page with LOV based flexfield item as search criteria

    Our requirement is to make a flexfield item as search criteria.
    Flexfield is having 2 segments Applicaiton and Responsibility, where 2nd segment *(Responsibility) is dependent on 1st (Application).*
    Accordingly, an LOV must get displayed for each flex segment in the search panel.
    We tried to create a page having this flex (DFF) item as a search criteria, but cannot proceed to get results in results region - we tried to use both properties in the query region - resultsbasedSearch and autocustomizationCriteria:
    Any ideas how to make a search functionality having LOV based flexfield items in the search criteria?
    Any other suggestions regarding the solution are welcome.
    Thank you very much.

    Hi,
    try a SQL query that uses bind variables as follows
    ... where column1 like '%:col1param%' and '%:column2%' like :col2param
    Then in the implementation (session facade) check for null values and add '%' in case a value is null.
    The query in EJB is defined in the entity

  • Handle the selective search criteria in LOV region based on profile.

    I have a requirement in LOV that the "selective search criteria" functionality should work on basis of the some profile option. Please help me out how I handle it through the controller which is attached with LOVRN.

    Hi
    then is no method provided in OAMessageLovInputBean class to set the criteria programmatically ,SPEL binding too is not possible ,but you can do it in tricky way
    1.) If this is standard LOV than hide this standard lov and
    2.) Create two LOVs one with Selective Search Criteria true and second with Selective Search Criteria false ,both will have same view instance and view attribute.
    3.) Do controller extension and make them conditionaly rendred true or false in process request method ,if you want to this in PFR method then bind them with SPEL.
    thanks

  • How do you lookup multiple values in different columns based on variable criteria?

    Essentially, I'd like to be able to do a Vlookup but instead of searching for one value only, search for multiple values in separate columns. A smaller version of my current spreadsheet as an example...
    Attack Type ->
    Fire
    Water
    Grass
    Fire
    1/2x
    2x
    1/2x
    Water
    1/2x
    1/2x
    2x
    Grass
    2x
    1/2x
    1/2x
    Fire/Water
    1/4x
    1x
    1x
    Fire/Grass
    1x
    1x
    1/4x
    Grass/Water
    1x
    1/4x
    1x
    The headers are the attack types and the list of types to the left are the receiving Pokemon. Fire does half damage (1/2x) to fire types, Water does double damage (2x) to fire types, etc. I'd like to be able to search for specific damages for each type. For example, I'd like to find a Typing that recieves half (1/2x) damage from Fire-type attacks but also recieves double (2x) from Grass-type attacks. I do want more than just two search criteria though seeing as the actual table is much, much larger.
    I've tried assigning number values to each damage multiplier and then merging all of them together for a specific typing and doing a VLOOKUP based on checkboxes determining what damage multiplier I want in a few specific types, the rest being filled in to the standard of 1x but the result isn't correct most of the time.

    Hi Mitchell,
    VLOOKUP can be set for accept either an 'exact match' or a 'close match'.  Your 17 digit 'number' is actually a 17 character text string (Numbers can handle numbers to a precision of only 15 places). Provided all 17 digits are present, sorting should be the same as for numerical values—the leftmost character is the most significant.
    As a text string, your 'number' is sorted/evaluated alphabetically. A 'close match' accepts the 'largest value that is less than or equal to the search value'.
    If your search term is 000200000 (a 9 character string), several 'wrong' answers will fit the 'close match' criteria, including all of those listed below:
    000200000 (the 'correct' match)
    0000xxxxx (x may be any of the three acceptable values)
    0001xxxxx (x may be any of the three acceptable values)
    The main problem here is that digits in a number (or characters in a text string) have decreasing significance related to their distance from the beginning of the string/number. You want a search in which each character has the same significance as each of the others when compared to the search key. To do that, you need to compare each character in the search string with the character in the same position in the similar string for each type of Pokemon, then take a count of the matches or a sum of the differences.
    Here's one approach:
    Column A contains labels.
    Column B, the 17 digit search term, created in whatever manner you wish, and the similar 17 digit string for each of the characters.
    Columns C through S contains a formula that detines, using subtraction, the difference between each digit of the search term and the corresponding digit of each character's profile.
    Column C uses SUM() to calculate the total of columns C to S for each row.
    T1 uses =MIN(T) to calculate "least different" profile.
    Column A is a Header column; Row 1 is a Header row.
    Formulas:
    C2, and filled right to S2, then down to the last row of data:
    =ABS(MID($B$1,COLUMN()-2,1)-MID($B2,COLUMN()-2,1))
    T1: =MIN(T)
    T2, and filled down column T: =SUM(C2:S2)
    The conditional formatting rule set for all body cells in column T is shown below the table.
    This may be enough to get you started. Formulas can be tweaked to produce results more closely matching what you're looking for, if necessary.
    Regards,
    Barry

  • Report based on selection criteria in an Apex collection

    For my current page I have to deal with a horrible "EAV" (Entity-Attribute-Value) table design like this:
    Employee ---< Attribute Value >-- Attribute
    So you might query who works in dept 10 and earns 20000 and was hired om 01-Jan-2007 like this:
    select emp.ename
    from emp
    join attribute_value a1 on a1.empno = emp.empno and a1.att_name = 'DEPT'
    join attribute_value a2 on a2.empno = emp.empno and a2.att_name = 'SALARY'
    join attribute_value a3 on a3.empno = emp.empno and a3.att_name = 'HIREDATE'
    where a1.att_numeric_value = 10
    and   a2.att_numeric_value = 20000
    and   a3.att_date_value = date '2007-01-01';(I said it was horrible!)
    But to make matters worse, the form for entering query criteria is also based on the attributes table as a tabular form:
    select apex_item.display_and_save(1,att_name) att_name
    ,      apex_item.text(2,null) att_value
    from   attributes
    where  att_type = 'EMPLOYEE';The user may enter values for any number of attributes and run the query. So in my example, there maybe be 0, 1, 2 or 3 criteria to use (or more when new attributes are added to the table).
    I can code the report query as a "PL/SQL body returning SQL query" and build a SQL string exactly like my example above - all literal values. Is there any way I could do it that uses bind variables? Given the variable number of bind variables I think I'd need to use DBMS_SQL, but would I be able to integrate that into an Apex report region source? Or is there another way?
    I'm open to any suggestions! (Except "redesign the database": much as I'd like to, I can't.)

    If you are sure of the number of attributes the user will be using as criteria is fixed and will not change, you should able to bind the literals to page items like:
    select emp.ename
    from emp
    join attribute_value a1 on a1.empno = emp.empno and a1.att_name = 'DEPT'
    join attribute_value a2 on a2.empno = emp.empno and a2.att_name = 'SALARY'
    join attribute_value a3 on a3.empno = emp.empno and a3.att_name = 'HIREDATE'
    where a1.att_numeric_value = :P1_dept_value
    and   a2.att_numeric_value = :P1_salary_value
    and   a3.att_date_value = to_date(:P1_hiredate_value,'YYYY-MM-DD');or
    select emp.ename
    from emp
    join attribute_value a1 on a1.empno = emp.empno and a1.att_name = :P1_att1_name
    join attribute_value a2 on a2.empno = emp.empno and a2.att_name = :P1_att2_name
    join attribute_value a3 on a3.empno = emp.empno and a3.att_name = :P1_att3_name
    where a1.att_numeric_value = :P1_att1_value
    and   a2.att_numeric_value = :P1_att2_value
    and   a3.att_date_value = to_date(:P1_att3_value,'DD-MM-DD');What happens when your user wants to add another attribute and use it as search criteria. You have to:
    1) add a JOIN clause to the SELECT
    2) add to the WHERE clause to the SELECT
    Warning personal opinion to follow: I would give up binding (i.e.. skipping parsing os the SELECT statement) for the flexibility of generating the SELECT at runtime. If the user adds a new attribute, then the PL/SQL code that assembles the SELECT statement would not have to be changed. All the meta data is stored in the database as to what the new column is and which column in the attributes table to use (ATT_NUMERIC_VALUE or ATT_DATE_VALUE). If your method of displaying the attributes and receiving the user's criteria is dynamic like my example, then you would not have to change the application at all for new attributes.
    Just my 2 cents worth of opinion,
    Mike

  • How to add a new  search criteria in Advance Search Page in OAF

    HI,
    In my application (R12) we can access customer related information from 2 places (2 different responsibilities as mentioned below), both are OAF pages.
    1. AX receivables
    2. Sales online
    From both the responsibilities we can perform search for customer related information as well (Simple as well as Advance Search).
    But Advance Search screen from 'Sales online' allows user to perform search, based on few additional fields as well such as 'Classification' (it's an lov based field).
    Now, User is asking to add that field on search page of AX receivables as well.
    So, how to add one more field (as search criteria), on an standard 'Customer' screen?
    Additional Info :
    1. LOV is based on HzPuiClassificationFilterVO
    2. And this VO is available on both pages. (oracle.apps.ar.hz.components.search.server.HzPuiClassificationFilterVO)
    So can we achieve this by Personalization only ? if yes plz share the steps as well.
    Regards,
    Adi

    Yes. It is possible through personalization.
    1. Create a criteria row under Advance Search
    2. Create a Result Item under advance table columns
    3. Create a Query Criteria Map based on the criteria and result item above.
    Please note the newly added criteria field should be in the Searchresults VO attributes list.
    Otherwise you need to extend the VO as well.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    -Mukesh.

  • Error while trying to add a new field in search criteria by VO extension

    Hi,
    I am trying to add a new field by using the VO extension to a seeded OAF page used to search Repository contracts.
    I get the following error on opening the page after I have compiled my code on server and bounced apache.
    Message not found. Application: FND, Message Name: FND_VIEWOBJECT_NOT_FOUND. Tokens: VONAME =SSPN_AdvancedSearchAttributesPVO; APPLICATION_MODULE = oracle.apps.okc.repository.search.server.ContractsAdvSearchAM;
    I extended the AM also after this to include the extended VO but still the error comes.
    This page is a dynamic search page where the results change based on the different search criteria.
    Cheers
    Swati

    Hi,
    I extended the AM also after this to include the extended VO but still the error comes.There is no need to extend the AM for extending a VO. Hopefully the VO which u extending already attached to the AM oracle.apps.okc.repository.search.server.ContractsAdvSearchAM.

    1) Search panel textinput item should be search allowed true and prompt is need. no other property need to set.
    HERE YOU DONT WANT TO SET VIEW INSTANCE AND ATTRIBUTE SINCE WE ARE DOING FOR EXTENDED VO ITEM AS SEARCH ITEM.THAT'S OK. I TRIED WITH YOUR COMMENTS FOR TEXTINPUT ITEM TOO.
    Comment--
    textinput item created is a simple item without any VO instance , etc.
    There is no question of extended VO item, its a simple textinput item.
    value in this field is going to compare with the values in result table.
    2) Search mapping, only search item id and result item id need to set.
    I'M DOING HERE MAPPING FOR ABOVE SEARCH ITEM ID AND RESULT ITEM ID
    Comment-- Perfect !!
    3) Item created in table , after you extended Vo, view instance and attribute needs to set.
    WHERE DO YOU WANT THIS TO BE SET?? CAN YOU ELABORATE THIS MORE PLEASE.MAY BE I'M MISSING HERE SOMETHING.
    Comment-- you must have created message styled text item in adv table bean, assign VO instance and attribute to it, right?
    4) One more thing Parag, do i need to include where clause for extended VO item in view object??
    for ex:
    where attribute(this is extended vo item)=:4
    Comment-- No need. this will be handled by point#2 above, i.e. criteria and result items.

  • Search criteria for insert/update bdoc

    Hi All,
    In our set up we have ecc to crm replication of BP. If one goes and checks the extension data of a stuck bdoc it has an Object Task- Insert or Update.
    Can someone help me with search criteria so that i can pull out bdocs which have an Insert as the Object task ??
    We have search criteria for errored/intermediate state bdocs; for inbound vs outbound; bdoc type etc etc..
    Need one based on Insert/Update Task so that any new data replication if stuck with its very first bdoc( Insert type) can be immediately queried.
    Regards
    Abhinav

    Hello Abhinav,
    I do not think that we have such a search criteria to search for BDocs based on the Task Type, which comes under the
    data part of the BDoc.
    One alternative way is to find out in which table these data gets stored and write a program to fetch the revelent Bdocs.
    Hope thisl helps!
    Best Regards,
