Counting records in a specific time block per day

I have a scenario where I need to find the number of records in a table called 'DEALS', for a specific time frame (in this case 8am until 9am where the date field stores dates in the following format '06/01/2005 08:23:35'). I need to run this query to include each business day between two dates (ie., june 1, 2005 until current_date).
In addition, this query has to take into account only Users that are ACTIVE in a second table called 'DEALUSERS'
I have worked out the following to get the overall record set, but it is not narrowed down to just the specified time frame, nor does it produce the count for each day's 8:00-9:00 time frame.
SELECT fdls.DEALDATE, user.USERROLE
FROM DEALS dls, DEALUSER user
WHERE dls.CLIENTUSERID = user.USERID
AND user.STATUS = 'ACTIVE'
AND dls.PROXYTRADEFLAG = 'YES'
AND dls.MODENAFLAG = 'YES'
AND TRUNC(dls.DEALDATE)
BETWEEN TO_DATE('06/01/2004 08:00:00', 'MM-DD-YYYY HH:MI:SS')
AND current_date
I tried using the following at the end of the above query, but it doesn't work - any ideas? :confused:
AND TO_CHAR(EXTRACT('HOUR' FROM DEALTS)) = '8'
Can someone help, pls :o

Not quite sure what you ultimately want here, but something like:
SELECT TRUNC(dls.dealdate, 'hh'), user.userrole, count(*)
FROM deals dls, dealuser user
WHERE dls.clientuserid = user.userid AND
      user.status = 'ACTIVE' AND
      dls.proxytradeflag = 'YES' AND
      dls.modenaflag = 'YES' AND
      dls.dealdate BETWEEN TO_DATE('06/01/2004 08:00:00', 'MM-DD-YYYY HH:MI:SS') AND current_date and
      TO_CHAR(dls.dealdate, 'hh24') = '08'
GROUP BY TRUNC(dls.dealdate, 'hh'), user.userroleshould give you some ideas.

  • How do you set a calendar alarm for a specific time on the day of the event without it being an all-day event

    Does anyone know how to set a calendar alert at a specific time on the day of the event.
    So that the alert date adjusts accordingly if you were to copy and past it to another date.
    The custom alert function kind of does this, but because it is an absolute alert (not relative) it will still refer to the date you initially set it to when you copy and paste it to another date. So this creates more work where you would have to go and manually change all the custom alerts. I have potential
    Anyone know how to set this kind of calendar alert?
    Thanks in advance

    Greetings: Set the alarm to message you (on your screen) and then snooze it every day for 15 days, or, set 15 separate alarm messages. There is probably an AppleScript somewhere on the web too, try searching that way as well.

  • Count records for a specific date range

    Hi,
    I am using BI Publisher with Siebel 8.1.1.1. I have a monthly report where I want to count the number of service requests entered per customer per month.
    I am using the following expression that works for one month:
    <?count(ssServiceRequest[ssSeverity[.='1-Critical'] and xdoxslt:date_diff('d',psfn:getCanonicalDate(ssCreated), xdoxslt:current_date($_XDOLOCALE,$_XDOTIMEZONE), $_XDOLOCALE, $_XDOTIMEZONE) <=28])?>
    However, I want to be able to specify a specific date range for my count, i.e ssCreated >= '01/02/2011' and <= '28/02/2011', as opposed to count for the past 28 days. Can you please advise what syntax I can use to specify a date range?
    Any help will be greatly appreciated!
    Claire

    Hello,
    Many many thanks for your reply.
    I'm doing as you suggest and am using the date_diff to the end of the period in question. I've tried the following to get the number of Service Requests with Severity 1-Critical, created in Jan 2011, feb 2011:
    <?count(ssServiceRequest[ssSeverity[.='1-Critical'] and xdoxslt:date_diff('d', (psfn:getCanonicalDate(ssCreated), $_XDOLOCALE, $_XDOTIMEZONE), '2011-01-31', $_XDOLOCALE, $_XDOTIMEZONE) <=31])?>
    <?count(ssServiceRequest[ssSeverity[.='1-Critical'] and xdoxslt:date_diff('d', (psfn:getCanonicalDate(ssCreated), $_XDOLOCALE, $_XDOTIMEZONE), '2011-02-28', $_XDOLOCALE, $_XDOTIMEZONE) <=28])?>
    In my xml sample data that I'm using I have 2 service requests that mean the criteria for Jan, yet when I run my report I'm getting '0'. The problem seems to be with my end of period date '2011-01-31'. I've also tried with both start and end period date (using a negative value as per your suggestion), but I still get '0':
    <?count(ssServiceRequest[ssSeverity[.='1-Critical'] and xdoxslt:date_diff('d', (psfn:getCanonicalDate(ssCreated), $_XDOLOCALE, $_XDOTIMEZONE), '2011-01-01', $_XDOLOCALE, $_XDOTIMEZONE) <=-31 and xdoxslt:date_diff('d', (psfn:getCanonicalDate(ssCreated), $_XDOLOCALE, $_XDOTIMEZONE), '2011-01-31', $_XDOLOCALE, $_XDOTIMEZONE) <=31])?>
    Many thanks,
    Claire

  • How do I set iCal alerts to a specific time the previous day, regardless of their specific time (so I can get an overview of tomorrow)?

    I think it would be incredibly useful to be able to get at, say, 10pm each evening, a pop up overview of the next day's events. I'm hoping for a tick box somewhere to set my default reminder as a specific time on the previous day, in the same way that you can do '15 minutes before'. Currently you can set reminders for a specific time and date, but, entering this for every item – especially if you want them to coincide – is more than slightly tedious. Furthermore, I input a lot of my Calender events on my iPhone (they sync via iCloud), which has no such functionality, rendering this essentially defunct.

    Hello experts
    I'm just writing to get some help with a cpu max-out issue that happens on almost all the routers in the network at a particular time in the day - everyday.
    I understand EEM traps or tcl script might be useful but since i am not good at either, i'm looking to find if someone with that expertise can kindly provide 'working config examples' for any method to capture the show proc cpu etc to spot the possible hacker/troublemaking pc etc.
    many thanks

    You can have the router send snmp-traps based on CPU thresholds you set as explained here http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/netmgmt/configuration/guide/nm_cpu_thresh_notif_ps6441_TSD_Products_Configuration_Guide_Chapter.html
    I hope it helps.

  • Splitting rows at specific times (not intervals)

    Greetings.
    I have a data set with fields that hold start and end times for specific events. These events have unique ID's and cross multiple time intervals. I'm looking for a way to split a single row in the dataset into multiple rows with new start and end times for each relevant time interval.
    The examples I've found online describe ways (using the MODEL method) to split rows based on time intervals of a fixed length (24 hours, for example) but I'm looking for a way to split the records at a specific time (at 6am and 6pm.)
    So this record set:
    <tt>SELECT ID, START_DATE, END_DATE FROM EVENTTABLE
    _ ID __________ Start_date __________ End Date _____
    1228322 __ 21-NOV-11 17:51:29 __ 21-NOV-11 19:32:27
    1228327 __ 21-NOV-11 14:53:24 __ 22-NOV-11 03:46:06
    1228334 __ 21-NOV-11 03:32:53 __ 21-NOV-11 05:13:13
    1183267 __ 25-SEP-11 16:09:13 __ 27-SEP-11 04:38:11</tt>
    Would become:
    <tt>SELECT ID, START_DATE, END_DATE FROM EVENTTABLE MODEL...
    _ ID __________ Start_date __________ End Date _____
    1228322 __ 21-NOV-11 17:51:29 __ 21-NOV-11 18:00:00
    1228322 __ 21-NOV-11 18:00:00 __ 21-NOV-11 19:32:27
    1228327 __ 21-NOV-11 14:53:24 __ 21-NOV-11 18:00:00
    1228327 __ 21-NOV-11 18:00:00 __ 22-NOV-11 03:46:06
    1228334 __ 21-NOV-11 03:32:53 __ 21-NOV-11 05:13:13
    1183267 __ 25-SEP-11 16:09:13 __ 25-SEP-11 18:00:00
    1183267 __ 25-SEP-11 18:00:00 __ 26-SEP-11 06:00:00
    1183267 __ 26-SEP-11 06:00:00 __ 26-SEP-11 18:00:00
    1183267 __ 26-SEP-11 18:00:00 __ 27-SEP-11 04:38:11</tt>
    Notice that record 1183267 starts in one interval, crosses two whole intervals and ends in a fourth. This splitting of one event into many is required to create a record set that will guarantee a record for each of the relevant intervals.
    Thanks in advance for your consideration!

    This assumes you have a reasonably recent version of Oracle, and i only tested it for your "complex" case spanning multiple days because i didn't want to type out a bunch of sample data. Should work on all your data sets though (i always say this when i do incomplete testing :).

  • How do I schedule a task at a specific time of day, every day?

    I am trying to use Timer and TimerTask to schedule an event at specific time of the day. It will basically stop all the logging archive the log file and start a new logfile.
    I am just having trouble with scheduling it for every day at specific time (I am new to java and have not worked with date and time much). If someone can point me to some sample code or show me a brief example I would really appreciate it. I am about to pull my hair.
    Thanks in advance!!!

    hi
    I assume you use the swing class. As you suggest, to schedule an event you have to use a timer. The delay of the timer can easy be calculated using GregorianCalendar objects. Create one for the current date/time by instantiating an object. Create a second and set the date to the next schedule date/time. Retrieve the milliseconds from both objects and calculate the differences.

  • Not getting Yahoo emails on Q5 except for a specific time span

    My Q5 started to have this issue started about 4, 5 days ago. I dont get any Yahoo emails except for an approx 5 hr time span at specific times of the day.  All other times I do not get any emails at all, not even when pressing the "refresh" icon.
    I have deleted / rebooted/re-added the yahoo account multiple times without any improvement. I have also tested for improvement by taking away the "rim." in the settings (IMAP and SMPT), no help.
     Well, right after re-adding the acct, the missing emails showed up, but that was it.  It doesn't update my emails until that specific time of the day (for me that time span is from midnight to ~5am).  I'm able to send out email fine.
    Anyone has any suggestions?
    Thank you very much in advance.

    The password disappeared again, so I changed the password as you suggested.
    I discovered that Yahoo had changed the password requirements, and that was likely causing the problem.
    (I wish the error message had been more specific so I would have known that was the issue earlier).
    I created a new password according to the new Yahoo password requirements, and I have not had any other problems with it so far.
    Thanks.
    It was not me it was user cb_ca and the above is what they posted. You can ask that user your question, just click the envelope icon on the middle of the page near the top and you can send them a message, just enter the users name mentioned above and type your message.

  • EA6100 AC1200 Blocking Guest internet access during specific times?

    I see that you can disable guest internet access for specific times but only for specific devices. What I want to do is turn off Guest access for all devices during specific times.
    I am using this in an environment  where I will have different guests at different times with different devices and can't go in to block each one each time.

    I think your only option at this time is to manually disable the Guest Wireless network when wanted.

    Hi, We are a physiotherapy practice trying to use i-cal as a clinic diary system for 15 therapists. We need to block out availability of therapists but cant do this? How can you block someones diary out for specific times on i-cal? Any help please..

    iCal is designed for personal use, and isn't really meant to handle this sort of situation.
    The best suggestion I can offer, though it's a trifle untidy, is: create a calendar for each therapist, giving each a different colour. Enter the availability for each therapist - if it's on a weekly basis you can make them repeating events. Then add the individual appointments, which will show alongside in the daily view. In this example, the 'purple' therapist is available from 1030 to 1700 and has appointments at 1200 and 1500.
    If you have more than a few therapists available at any one time it's liable to look a bit messy, but it's the best I can think of at the moment.
