Cp278 for non-international JVM

Hi All,
I have a java applet that uses cp278, and so it needs the international version of JVM be installed on the client PC, for the app to work. Therefore, this prevents this app running on a US PC, unless I get the user to install the International version first.
I expect for most users, this will be a chore they'd rather not do.
Is there any way I can include just those specific classes that support cp278,(ByteToCharCp278 and CharToByteCp278 in charsets.jar) in my .jar I am hosting, to allow my app to run on all versions of the JVM?
Thanks.
Tony

If they are sun.* classes, maybe. If they are java.* classes, the classloader will not allow it (without the users specifying command line options to override the standard bootclasspath). This is a purely technical answer to your question, I don't know about the legal answer to your question which is something else to consider.

  • Compile JMF applet for non JMF JVM

    I have been programing java for about 2 years. I haven't used any extras for java e.g. JMF. If i install JMF on my pc and make an applet using JMF is there any way of compiling it to play on a pc without JMF installed.

    lib/customizer.jar is your best bet. It can make
    relatively small distributables for specific media
    types and uses.
    (Though I'd recommend dumping applets in favour
    of a web start launched application, nowadays..)

  • Which OS, Version, Best Setup on like-new 2008 MBP for non-HD archival DV?

    MacBook Pro 15"
    (Early 2008)
    2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo
    4GB RAM
    720GB 7200rpm Hard Drive (original 360GB 5400rpm drive also available)
    OS 10.6.8
    (6GB RAM possible but additional $100+ for 4GB module needed now for software upgrades)
        I first and last used Final Cut Pro 2-3 in film school on a Titanium PowerBook (500MHz!) during the OS9/X transition.  Next, was an Aluminum PowerBook (1.67Ghz) but because of life changes, I did little editing other than occasionally in iMovie.  Then as an early adopter of iPhone/Pad, I rarely used my AlPB other than for back up, writing, and occasional simple editing.
        Now I'm finally entering the early MacIntel age with a pristine "early 2008" MacBook Pro bought for $250 from an elderly original-owner couple who used it only at home for email and iPhoto.  Though at the end of its supported life, it's practically new with a known history of light graphics usage (no video or gaming rendering ever) delivered in the original box with original battery (only 46 cycles!), discs, manual, like-new charger, and no sign of wear.  The original internal wrapper was even saved and put back on the device!  Furthermore, because the wife was a photo enthusiast, the Apple Store swapped out her internal hard drive for a Western Digital 720GB 7200rpm drive and the husband just gave me the original 360GB drive!
        I want to do several things with this "new" device.  I've done a lot of research but the world has changed since FCP 3 and the G4 processor and I'm overwhelmed with all the possibilities.  I need guidance and have always appreciated the wisdom and generosity of the gurus here. I thank you all in advance!
    iCloud integration: I'd like it since I'm an iPhone/Pad user.  I could upgrade to Mountain Lion but Mavericks, under the best of conditions, is doable on my device and may give me improved CPU and battery performance.  I realize this is best left for the OSX forums.  HOWEVER...
    Final Cut Pro: I want to also return to editing in FCP an unfinished documentary using primarily archival film and video converted to non-HD DV.  This may greatly impact how I set up my drives and the decision as to which OS is best.  So, this should probably be my initial decision.
    Hard Drive:  First and foremost, I should probably swap the drives and place the 7200rpm drive into an enclosure (Firewire or is that stone-age?) for FCP media, correct?
    OS:  With Mavericks, I must use FCPX which is beyond my current non-HD needs and will most likely strain my system resources.  However, the new simplified interface is appealing and I've read some users are running it on "early 2008" MBPs.  If an earlier OS is better suited, then which one?  And also...
    FCP Version:  Which is most stable given my model?  And which is best for non-HD needs?  What about FCExpress?  I want to explore more possibilities than what's available in iMovie and would appreciate the simpler interface found in FCE and FCPX, especially since I haven't used any Final Cut since FCP 3 but will gladly embrace what's best.  I want to relearn the program and hope to continue using it for other projects.
    Partitioned drive:  Finally, what about partitioning my drive, one for daily life running Mavericks or other OS, the other solely dedicated to an optimized OS/FCP for non-HD editing?  Even at 360 GB it should be doable if I keep it lean and the bulk of storage externally (I ran FCP 3 adequately on a partitioned 40GB drive back in the day).  How much space should I dedicate to an FCP partition?
        Finances are tight and I'll need to upgrade Office, other apps (I know there's Rosetta in Snow Leopard but must weigh that with iCloud integration; decsions, decisions!) and probably locate an older copy of FCP on EBay or elsewhere which could be expensive.  I must wait a bit before swapping in a 4GB RAM module and possibly upgrading to an SSD.  Meanwhile, I'd like to experience this like-new MacBook Pro now, both as it was during its heyday and with what's still possible today.  It seems doable and I appreciate any and all suggestions.
    Thank you all and have a great day!
    Evalyn
    PS: I realize my FCP3 files are probably useless and plan to reimport everything into a new project.  And sorry for the lack of paragraph spacing.  Can't get it formatted right on the iPad!

    Just to note that there is much more commonality between FCP3 and FCP7 and/or FCE than with the early version and FCP X. IMO, learning FCP X is worth the effort, but it will require some effort since it is so different than traditional NLE's. You could "get by" with FCE for many types of projects and you should be able to find a copy on eBay or Amazon  for a few hundred dollars. However, you will not be able to open a FCP project of any version with it.  Also, I don;t think I would agree that  its UI is simple; it's essentially the same as FCP.
    As for partitioning, some people advise against editing from drives that have been partitioned. I use a partition on one machine and I've not had any problems, so I think it is an option.
    As you can see from the replies you've received so far, you have  reasonable choices. Good luck.

  • How to allow access to winrs for non-admin user?

    I have Windows Server 2012 (and Server 2008, but it is next priority) to monitor it using txwinrm. txwinrm library internally is using WinRS protocol. I have to monitor it using least privileged user, but don't know how to configure access for him.
    All I managed to do - is to configure remote Powershell session for my user, but it's look like that winrs and powershell sessions have different security descriptors:
    Invoke-Command -ComputerName 192.168.173.206 -Credential (credential Administrator $pwd) -ScriptBlock { 2 + 2}
    # gives 4
    Invoke-Command -ComputerName 192.168.173.206 -Credential (credential lpu1 $pwd) -ScriptBlock { 2 + 2}
    # gives 4
    winrs -r:192.168.173.206 -u:Administrator -p:$pwd 'powershell -command "2+2"'
    # gives 4
    winrs -r:192.168.173.206 -u:lpu1 -p:$pwd 'powershell -command "2+2"'
    # Gives Winrs error: Access is denied.
    Configuration for my user is following:

    (In each security descriptor my user is given general access to protected object).
    So what security descriptor should I set to make my winrs query work for non-admin user?

    Hi Bunyk,
    I can not recreate the erroe you posted, and please also post the screenshoot in your convenience.
    I tested with a non-domain user but has the local admin permission of the remote computer, and this worked, before running the remote cmdlet in powershell, I also configured the TrustedHosts.
    In addition, the access denied could be also caused to the Protocol Filtering on the remote server, for more detailed information, please refer to this thread:
    winrs error:access is denied

  • Moving Average Price for Non-Valuated Material

    Hello Experts
    The question may seem to be quirky but need your advice for the below.
    My client is buying non-valuated material against a cost center, they do not want to keep the stocks valuated. No value update only quantity update. The accounting documents are the following when the GR is done by receiving folks
    Qty of material XYZ goods receipted = 10
    Debit     Consumption GL   12345678       10 USD          Cost Center ABC123 (This is a warehouse cost center)
    Credit    GR/IR account                            10 USD
    Qty of mateiral XYZ issued = 5
    The goods are later on issued to Production cost center and the client was the below entries to be passed with MOVING AVERAGE PRICE.
    Debit    Consumption GL 12345678           6 USD          Cost Center ABC456 (This is production Cost center)
    Credit   Consumption GL 12345678           6 USD          Cost Center ABC123 (This is warehouse cost center)
    I am aware that as this is a non valuated material the above entry is not possible. Maybe, I will use BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST for the generating the accounting document when the goods are issued from warehosue to production center.
    My question is how can i get the moving average price.
    Regards
    Chokkalingam Pillai

    you can have an accounting view for non-valuated materials, this helps for example with purchase requisitions as they could take the valuation price from the material master and the user does not need to enter a valuation manually.
    But the material master moving average  price cannot be calculated and updated automatically, as it is not foreseen in any standard program to do this for cost center procurement, since SAP only calculates a MAP for valuated stocks.
    Further it is not logical to issue non-valuated stock valuated (even with a different price) from cost center to cost center.
    It looks like you want to  have a kind of internal billing for warehouse services, as you end up with a negative amount in the warehouse cost center which is then the profit.
    Why don't you just  create a report to run at the end of the month, listing all goods issue movements with their cost centers and taking the price from last PO (or from material master if you decide to maintain it manually) and use this for a manual cost center posting in CO module

  • SQL tab not working in V2.1 EA1 for non-DBA users -- how to fix?

    In v2.1 EA 1 the tab to show the SQL script (DDL) in the object browser is not working for non-DBA users. In the prior version, these users would see a message about DBMS_METADATA and then the message would indicate that an "internal generator" would be used to generate the DDL script. After that brief message the DDL would show up as expected. This doesn't seem to be the case in the newest version.
    I issued the following two grants to a particular user which worked, but I am reluctant to issue the grants to "PUBLIC".
    SQL> grant execute on DBMS_METADATA to XXXXX;
    SQL> grant select_catalog_role to XXXXX;
    So, my questions are:
    1) Will the old functionality (that didn't require these privileges) be added to V2 at some point?
    2) What security implications are there for issueing the above grants to PUBLIC?
    NOTE: After granting execute on the DBMS_METADATA package, it still didn't work. I left that grant in place and granted SELECT_CATAOG_ROLE, so I can't say for sure that the 1st grant was required.

    An OEM account is separate from the database account. You need to use OEM UI to create an OEM account, however, for certain tasks to be done in the databases which OEM is monitoring they will also require separate database accounts within those databases. For example, to view the performance tab in OEM UI, a database account is required.
    OEM only has two types of users, i.e. Super Administrator and Administrator, but don't go by the names. You can grant an OEM 'Administrator' account access to specific targets and what they can do within OEM, such as only viewing reports, targets, and so on. For access within a database, the user created need not be a DBA either.
    I hope you understand.

    Hello.
    First of all, you must ensure that your solution manger has, at least, stack 13 of support package, in java and ABAP side.
    Once you hace installed your agents in solution manager, you must to  do different things in your satellite system.
    - First of all, you must get sure that you have deployed LMSERVICE in your satellite system. And you must deploy -     JmxService7.1.P5NetWeaver.ear file.
    - Secondly, you must install wily folder in  /usr/sap/ccm . Willy folder is obtained in ISAGENT71_11-20002182.SAR file.
    Into Wily folder, you must look for sap_IntroscopeAgent.profile file, and you need to modify it in order to be seen for your solution manager. To do this step, only find in this file the next item:
    introscope.agent.enterprisemanager.transport.tcp.host.DEFAULT=
    It will have value 'localhost' and you must delete 'default' and insert your solution manager host.
    - Then, you must go to the next folder opening cmd:
    \usr\sap\ccms\willy\connectors
    There, execute the next command in order to create the necessary connector:
    java -jar CreateAutoProbeConnector.jar -jvm C:\j                2sdk1.4.2_06 -output connector.jar
    Get sure tou put your corresponding JDK
    - You must install SMD agent in your satellite host, executing sapinst that is in CDSMDTOOLS21_0-10003537.SAR file.
    - Once your agent is running  go to  \usr\sap\SMD\J98\component_analyzer  and execute the command 'gather setup' . It will open to you a new window with some warnings. Double clicking in each warning and editing node, you can insert a value in order to correct these warnings.
    - Then, you must insert different java parameters in your config tool. Parameters are the next:
    -Xbootclasspath/p:K:/usr/sap/SMD/J98/SMDAgent/applications.config/com.sap.smd.agent.application.wily/BytecodeAgent/ISAGENT.7.1.P11-2007-09-27/wily/connectors/AutoProbeConnector.jar;K:/usr/sap/SMD/J98/SMDAgent/applications.config/com.sap.smd.agent.application.wily/BytecodeAgent/ISAGENT.7.1.P11-2007-09-27/wily/Agent.jar
    -Dcom.wily.introscope.agent.agentName=<name of the agent : insert what you want>
    -Dcom.wily.introscope.agentProfile=K:/usr/sap/SMD/J98/SMDAgent/applications.config/com.sap.smd.agent.application.wily/BytecodeAgent/ISAGENT.7.1.P11-2007-09-27/wily/sap_IntroscopeAgent.profile
    -XX:+PrintClassHistogram
    -XX:+HeapDumpOnCtrlBreak
    - When you have done this, you must configure your system in SMSY following SAP guides and create the solution in solution_manager transaction.
    - The next step is configure the system in SMD web:
    1.- execute SMD upgrade.
    2.- Setup diagnostics system
    3.- Setup managed system
    4.- in 'Trouble shooting' insert jdbc parameters
    5.- In 'Introscope agent' you must load the parameters you configured in configtool.
    6.- At this point will be necessary to restart your satellite system.
    When you finishes all these steps you will be able to obtain EWA for java side.
    Is so difficult to do this. We have done it in several environments and we have had lots of problems, but it's possible.
    Any doubt, please, give me your mail and I'll be so glad to help you.
    Best regards.

  • What is current CommSuite support for non-ASCII passwords?

    Hello all,
    Some of our users managed to change their passwords to non-ASCII strings (via replication from MSAD by ISW) and no longer have access to their communications services.
    While replicating the problem, I have set a (UTF-8 non-ASCII) string as my password in DSEE directly, and *can* log in to Convergence with this password. However, if I change the working password to a non-ASCII string from Convergence itself - it is accepted during the secondary password check, there is no error returned, SOME password is apparently saved into the LDAP directory, but neither of the original non-ASCII plaintext strings can be used for login back into Convergence. Restoration of access is only doable by admin at this point.
    Checking email by IMAP from Thunderbird no longer works with a changed non-ASCII password (including the state when it still works for Convergence).
    Delegated Admin has an explicit check for non-ASCII characters in the password and refuses to set a misbehaving one.
    I see that among the standards supported by CommSuite, there is IMAP4rev1, and RFC 5255 refers to it as the reason that non-ASCII passwords and usernames are for now not supported, though this is expected to be a temporary state of things, and software can prepare for the future by implementing checks for valid UTF-8 strings as well.
    https://wikis.oracle.com/display/CommSuite/Messaging+Server+Supported+Standards
    http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5255
    5.1.  Unicode Userids and Passwords
       IMAP4rev1 currently restricts the userid and password fields of the
       LOGIN command to US-ASCII.  The "userid" and "password" fields of the
       IMAP LOGIN command are restricted to US-ASCII only until a future
       standards track RFC states otherwise.  Servers are encouraged to
       validate both fields to make sure they conform to the formal syntax
       of UTF-8 and to reject the LOGIN command if that syntax is violated.
       Servers MAY reject the LOGIN command if either the "userid" or
       "password" field contains an octet with the highest bit set.
       When AUTHENTICATE is used, some servers may support userids and
       passwords in Unicode [RFC3490] since SASL (see [RFC4422]) allows
       that.  However, such userids cannot be used as part of email
       addresses.
    So, the main question at this point is: does or does not all of the CommSuite stack support non-ASCII passwords?
    If no - please confirm, so we can instruct the users to not create problems for themselves (and maybe manage to set up some policy to not accept non-ASCII passwords to MSAD/DSEE in the first place).
    If yes - what should be done to enable support in Convergence/IMAP/SMTP/XMPP/WCAP/WABP/... services - perhaps, setting the LANG/LC_ALL locale environment variables or equivalent JVM flags for UTF-8 in server startup scripts, etc.? (I know that DSEE ldapsearch requires either envvars or a command-line flag for charset encoding of values, so I figure similar quirks may be relevant for some other software)
    Thanks in advance for either response,
    //Jim Klimov

    I can't respond for the suite, but the Messaging Server product should work with UTF-8 usernames and passwords as long as the standard SASL authentication mechanisms that are documented to use UTF-8 are used (e.g. SASL PLAIN). IMAP LOGIN may work fine with UTF-8 as well even though that's non-standard. We do not implement SASLprep, however, so the strings provided by the client to the server must be identical UTF-8 strings for authentication to succeed. If they are provided in a different decomposition, different canonical form or non-standard charset, that's not supported and will fail. We don't test this scenario extensively, so you may encounter bugs (that we'd have to prioritize and fix as with other bugs). Messaging Server recently implemented a restricted option (broken_client_login_charset) for a customer who was stuck with broken clients that sent ISO-8859-1 for the IMAP login command arguments.

  • Pagination support for non-Oracle databases?

    Hi,
    I just read this thread (Pagination Support on pagination support. Is there any way to get pagination with non-Oracle databases? We are using an IBM iSeries / AS/400 DB2 database right now, and we're planning to use some local lightweight database in the near future as well (probably Cloudscape/Derby or "IBM Everyplace database".)
    We currently use code like this:
    String sql = "SELECT art FROM Artikel art" +
                /* dynamically generated where statement is added here */
                + "ORDER BY art.artikelNummer";
    Query q = em.createQuery(sql);
    q.setFirstResult(firstResult);
    q.setMaxResults(maxResults);If I look in the TopLink logs, I see queries like this:
    SELECT ARTNR, ARALT, ARAFJ, ARXII, ARAVJ, ARXIV, ARANJ, AHGCD, ARNVJ, ARCRJ, ARARK, ARFKJ, ARTNK, ARGP1, ASGCD, ARGP2, ARPR1, ARGP3, ARPR2, AREX1, ARPR3, AREX2, ARPR4, AREX3, ARASA, ARINA, ASSCD, ARIA1, ARBAN, ARIN1, ARBAV, ARIA2, ARBAK, ARIN2, ARCES, ARIA3, ARCDT, ARIN3, ARCRE, ARIA4, ARCWK, ARIN4, ARHBH, ARIA5, ARDFA, ARIN5, ARDFG, ARIA6, ARDOS, ARIN6, AREPW, ARINN, ARFOD, ARIAS, ARFOE, ARINS, ARFOF, ARNAB, ARFOI, ARNIB, ARFON, ARNIA, ARFOS, ARNN1, ARFTA, ARNA2, ARVIV, ARNO2, ARGAP, ARNN3, ARGPT, ARNA4, ARGPD, ARNO4, ARGPA, ARNN5, ARGPO, ARNA6, ARHIS, ARNN6, ARISP, ARNIO, ARKHM, ARNNS, MAGCD, AROVJ, MTGCD, ARPL1, ARMXM, ARPL2, MRKCD, ARPL3, ARMVR, ARVKJ, ARMIM, ARV12, ARMDT, ARVVJ, ARMTE, AR#VR, ARMTU, ARZLS, ARMTM, ARIAT, ARMWK, ARAVS, MPCCD, ARNVS, ARBTW, ARFJS, ARXI2, ARG2S, ARXI3, ARE1S, ARXI4, ARE3S, ARXI6, ARIB1, ARXI1, ARIB2, ARXI5, ARIB3, AROPI, ARIB4, ARPRV, ARIB5, SZGCD, ARIB6, ARSPC, ARINO, ARSMF, ARIOS, VEAAN, ARNIS, ARSYN, ARNO1, ARVR1, ARNA3, ARV1S, ARNN4, ARVR2, ARNO5, ARV2S, ARNIN, ARVR3, ARNOS, ARV3S, ARP1S, ARTFA, ARP3S, ARTFG, ARS12, ARUVC, ARZLD, ARUCW, ARAJS, ARBKV, ARCJS, ARVVI, ARG3S, ARVVP, ARINB, VPOCD, ARIO2, VPECD, ARIO4, ARVIH, ARIO6, ARVHG, ARNBS, ARVRW, ARNN2, ARVPR, ARNA5, ARVVR, ARNAS, ARVVS, ARP2S, ARVV1, ARSVV, ARZK1, ARNJS, ARNA1, ARNO3, ARIO1, ARNO6, ARIO5, AROJS, ARE2S, ARVJS, ARIBS, ARIAD, ARIO3, ARG1S FROM ART WHERE ((((ARUVC = 'N') AND (ARHIS = 'N')) AND (ASGCD = 7)) AND (AHGCD = 15)) ORDER BY ARTNR ASC
    (Yeah, I know we have too much columns in the table...)
    So, no pagination in the query. As you can see, we have a mechanism in place to dynamically generate a where clause. This is because the user can set filters. The problem is, if our user sets a filter that causes the result set to be significantly smaller, the performance is way better than when he sets no filter at all. We suppose this is because the whole result set is sent to TopLink, regardless of the values of firstResult and maxResults.
    We are using TopLink Essentials 2.1-10, by the way.

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to subclass <tt>DatabasePlatform</tt> to add pagination support for the AS/400 DB2 database of my customer. To be fair, it is not going very well so far.
    The first problem is, the query Chris found by googling (Re: Pagination support for non-Oracle databases?), does not work for AS/400s version of DB2. In fact, although it is called "DB2", the database on the AS/400 system is a whole other database than the "normal" DB2 database that runs on Windows and *nix. The AS/400 DB2 simply does not have a "ROW_NEXT" function.
    Another option would be to use the <b>row_number() over()</b> mehtod. But, as can be read here, this function is only available from version V5R4 of OS/400. And guess what? We're stuck on V5R3 at this client. (We cannot upgrade, because there's an application in use that's written in Delphi and IBM dropped the Delphi binding from V5R4...)
    So I pretty much ran out of options. On the mailing list I linked to above, someone mentions the option to make a sort of stored procedure that generates a row count number. An example of how to do this can be found here. I implemented it, and ended up with this code:
    package com.myclientsname.persistence;
    import java.sql.Connection;
    import java.sql.PreparedStatement;
    import java.sql.ResultSet;
    import java.sql.SQLException;
    import org.eclipse.persistence.expressions.ExpressionBuilder;
    import org.eclipse.persistence.internal.databaseaccess.DatabaseCall;
    import org.eclipse.persistence.internal.expressions.ExpressionSQLPrinter;
    import org.eclipse.persistence.internal.expressions.SQLSelectStatement;
    import org.eclipse.persistence.internal.sessions.AbstractSession;
    import org.eclipse.persistence.logging.SessionLog;
    import org.eclipse.persistence.platform.database.DatabasePlatform;
    import org.eclipse.persistence.sessions.SessionProfiler;
    public class AS400Platform extends DatabasePlatform {
        private static final long serialVersionUID = 0L;
        public AS400Platform(){
             super();
             super.setShouldBindAllParameters(false);
        public void printSQLSelectStatement(DatabaseCall call, ExpressionSQLPrinter printer, SQLSelectStatement statement) {
            int max = 0;
            int firstRow = 0;
            if (statement.getQuery()!=null){
                max = statement.getQuery().getMaxRows();
                firstRow = statement.getQuery().getFirstResult();
            if ( !(max>0) && !(firstRow>0) ){
                super.printSQLSelectStatement(call, printer,statement);
                return;
            } else {
                statement.setUseUniqueFieldAliases(true);
                ExpressionBuilder builder = new ExpressionBuilder();
                statement.addField(builder.getField("COUNTER() AS CNTR"));
                printer.printString("SELECT * FROM (");
                call.setFields(statement.printSQL(printer));
                printer.printString(") AS R WHERE R.CNTR >= ");
                printer.printParameter(DatabaseCall.FIRSTRESULT_FIELD);
                if ( max > 0 ){
                    // Use of binding parameters is not allowed here, so use
                    // String concatenation instead...
                    printer.printString(" FETCH FIRST " + max + " ROWS ONLY");
            call.setIgnoreFirstRowMaxResultsSettings(true);
        public boolean wasFailureCommunicationBased(SQLException exception, Connection connection, AbstractSession sessionForProfile){
            if (connection == null || this.pingSQL == null){
                //Without a connection we are  unable to determine what caused the error so return false.
                //The only case where connection will be null should be External Connection Pooling so
                //returning false is ok as there is no connection management requirement
                    //If there is no ping sql then we can not perform the ping.
                return false;
            PreparedStatement statement = null;
            try{
                sessionForProfile.startOperationProfile(SessionProfiler.ConnectionPing);
                if (sessionForProfile.shouldLog(SessionLog.FINE, SessionLog.SQL)) {// Avoid printing if no logging required.
                     sessionForProfile.log(SessionLog.FINE, SessionLog.SQL, getPingSQL(), (Object[])null, null, false);
                statement = connection.prepareStatement(getPingSQL());
                ResultSet result = statement.executeQuery();
                result.close();
                statement.close();
            }catch (SQLException ex){
                try{
                    // Had to add this check because of NullPointerExceptions
                    // (maybe a bug?)
                    if(statement != null){
                        //try to close statement again in case the query or result.close() caused an exception.
                        statement.close();
                } catch (SQLException exception2) {
                    //ignore;
                return true;
            }finally{
                sessionForProfile.endOperationProfile(SessionProfiler.ConnectionPing);
            return false;
    }(As you can see, I had to override the <tt>wasFailureCommunicationBased()</tt> method as well, due to some unexpected NPE's. (A bug, perhaps?))
    This code does work. However, the performance is not very well. The first page comes relatively fast, but as you browse further in the table, each page comes slower. I assume this is because the counter() method has to be evaluated for each row in the table.
    I have to get the performance better and constant. Does anyone have an idea how to optimize this further?

  • What non-standard JVM options are common across vendors...

    Hi all,
    As the name explains, non-standard JVM options (java -X) are exactly that, non-standard. So from what I understand these can be different by vendor, by release, by platform, or any combination of the above.
    What I'm trying to figure out is what's common between all the different implementations, if any. For example, are all of Sun's releases (for all platform, for all releases) have the same options? Or do they change by release, i.e. 1.3 to 1.4 to 1.5? Or do they change by platform (Win, Linux, etc).
    Is there knowledge about this out there? So, far I haven't been able to find any info about commonality.
    :-D

    You could simplify the question: what are the standard non-standard options?

  • GL account balance for Non Leading Ledger

    Hi,
    I am trying to get GL account balance for Non leading ledger.
    I am able to get Balance sheet GL account balance  for leading ledger using 'BAPI_GL_GETGLACCPERIODBALANCES', but I am unable to do so.
    For P&L GLs, requirement is to get internal order wise account balance. I am able to get GL balance for leading ledger using documents in BSEG.
    Any idea on how we get GL balance for non leading ledger?
    Thanks in Advance.
    Tejas

    Hello,
    I am not sure if I understand quesition correct.
    1. Internal order per ledger - this link might give you some information.
    FB50L FI-posting to an internal order
    You can report internal orders per cost element (acutal and plan)
    Use reports in: SAP Menue/ Information Systems/Accounting/Controlling/Reports for Internal Orders/Summarization Reports or/and More Reports
    as an instance: S_ALR_87013010
    direct output to Excel and drill down functionality for details.
    2. GL balances per ledger: use F.08 and select ledger, then you have report per ledger
    Let me know if this is what you have expected.
    all the best Erwin

  • How to post an Idoc (INVOICE02) for non-po Invoice (MIRO transaction)

    Hi,
    I want to Post an Idoc for non-po vendor Invoice through MIRO transaction. I want to use INVOICE02 basic type. In the line item we need to enter G/L account , Cost center and line item amount. But I am not able to enter the same in the INVOICE02 Idoc. It will be nice if you please let me know how to post non-po Idoc through MIRO transaction.
    Thanks

    Hi Raja,
    Check this out.
    Inbound IDocs are triggered by either external systems (edi, wms etc) or can be triggered by inhouse applications in SAP to post a application document.
    1. EDI_DATA_INCOMING can create a IDoc from a file on the OS layer. It just needs a IDoc flat file containing control and data records, it will create an Idoc from it if the control record successfully matches a inbound partner profile parameters.
    2. IDOC_INBOUND_ASYNCHRONOUS can be triggered by external/internal programs to creae IDoc withing SAP, whereas IDOC_INBOUND_SYNCHRONOUS can be used by inhouse SAP programs to create inbound Idoc.
    3. WE19 can create and post an existing inbound Idoc to application
    Hope this resolves your query.
    Reward all the helpful answers.

  • ISA Server 2006 + Average response time for Non Cached requests = performance issues?!?!?!

    All,
    I am in a predicament with internet browsing speeds...We have a 3rd party look after our line and internet facing f/w  so I cant troubleshoot them, so at the moment Im looking at ISA as the potential bottleneck - we have a fairly standard environment:
    Internal > Local Host > Perimiter n/work > Firewall > Internet
    I have been running custom reports on the ISA server to see what data can be collected - I have noticed that "Average response time for non cached requests" (traffic by time of day) can be as high as 76 seconds!!!!!! Cached hits are between .5
    and 2 seconds.
    I have also coonfigured a connectivity verifier which is also flagging slow connectivity, massively over the >5000ms and also reporting "cant resolve server name on occassions- and this is configured for
    www.Microsoft.com --- DNS ???!?!, however I have looked through DNS (no obvious errors / config issues) which I can see
    I have run the BPA on ISA server to ensure its Health - - connectivity verifier errors flagged timeouts to microsoft.com as expected...
    Can anyone advise any obvious areas to investigate as Im struggling! - as always the 3rd party have told us the internet pipe is fine :O

    Problem resolved.
    DNS forwarders have been changed on the ISA server / DNS and this has improved lookup speed considerably.
    thanks all :)

  • CLOB.getAsciiStream problem in 11gR2 with temp CLOB internal JVM

    Hello,
    i have a problem with using a termporary CLOB in PL/SQL that is going to be written with Java Code that runs inside Oracle Database (Internal JVM). The code works without problem in Oracle 11g R1 (11.1.0.7.0) but does not with Oracle 11g R2 (12.2.0.1.0). The example follows:
    <b>Table Description:</b>
    NAME Null? Type
    ID NOT NULL NUMBER(*,0)
    FILE_TYPE NOT NULL NUMBER(*,0)
    INSERT_DATE NOT NULL DATE
    PROCESSED NOT NULL NUMBER(*,0)
    LFIELD001 CLOB(4000)
    BFIELD001 BLOB(4000)
    FILE_NAME VARCHAR2(4000)
    <b>PL/SQL Example Run:</b>
    DECLARE
    clb CLOB;
    p_result NUMBER; p_err VARCHAR2(4000);
    t BLOB;
    BEGIN
    SELECT bfield001
    INTO t
    FROM file_data
    WHERE id = 200;
    clb := java_utils.clob_zipdecompress(t, 'BANKFILE_', p_result);
    -- Output the results
    dbms_output.put_line(SubStr('p_result = '||TO_CHAR(p_result), 1, 255));
    dbms_output.put_line(SubStr('p_err = '||p_err, 1, 255));
    dbms_output.put_line(SubStr('p_return_clob = '||SUBSTR(clb, 1,255), 1, 255));
    END;
    <b>Package example </b>
    PACKAGE JAVA_UTILS
    IS
    -- Decompress a BLOB in ZIP format to a CLOB and return it with specified contained filename
    FUNCTION clob_zipdecompress(p_blob IN BLOB, p_fname IN VARCHAR2, p_result OUT NUMBER)

    END JAVA_UTILS;
    PACKAGE BODY JAVA_UTILS

    p_result := clob_zipdecompress(p_blob, l_clob, p_fname);
    RETURN l_clob;
    END clob_zipdecompress;
    END JAVA_UTILS;
    <b>Java Function Example simplified </b>
    package java_utils;
    import java.lang.*;
    import oracle.sql.*;
    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.zip.*;
    public class Compress
    * Decompresses the BLOB into CLOB
    * @param blob the source BLOB (compressed binary data)
    * @param clob the target CLOB (will hold plain text) it should be an empty CLOB retrieved for
    example with dbms_lob.createtemporary(l_clob,true);
    * @throws Exception mostly I/O exception if ever
    public static int ZipDecompress(BLOB blob, CLOB clob, String fname, String[] err)
    OutputStream out; ZipInputStream z; ZipEntry ze; String zeName; byte[] buffer; int cnt;
    boolean found = false;
    try {
    out = clob.setAsciiStream(0L); // Here it fails
    catch (Exception ex) { err[0] = ex.getMessage(); return -1; }
    return 0;
    The execution of the example works well in 11gR1 but in 11gR2 returns error : <b>Invalid argument(s) in call. </b>
    Any idea why this is happening?
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Dionyssis

    Hi Dionyssis:
    Replace:
    clob.setAsciiStream(0L); // Here it fails
    by:
    clob.setAsciiStream(1L);
    the CLOB Api was changed from early implementation of Oracle to the standard implementation.

  • MySites for non-Active Directory users

    Hi,
    we are planning to provide a collaboration farm for
    internal users (AD)
    external users (external AD, no-trust relationship)
    We plan to authenticate users via Claims/ADFS. The idea is to provide a MySite-Farm.
    Questions
    Are there any issues with providing MySites to non-AD users?
    Are there any limitations for providing MySites to non-AD users?
    Sven

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to create MySite for non-Active Directory users.
    Yes, it is possible to create them for non-AD users on on-premises SharePoint farms.
    You can use the ADFS authenticate to import the users to the user profile database, then create the MySite.
    If you are trusted the users to access your site or give them appropriate permissions, I don’t think there are some limitations to create MySite for non-AD users.
    Thanks,
    Jason
