Create a domain file for iweb

Hi all,
I've recently purchased a new MBP and would like to move the iWeb sites to the new computer. However, the domain in my user/ library/app support/iWeb has a domain from a really old site that I no longer use. How do I go about finding the domains fornthe current websites, or is there a way to recreate it?

In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
To open your domain file in Lion or Mt. Lion or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.

You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
Just launch the application, find and select the domain file you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder. So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

I have three sites up that I created using iWeb. My hard drive crashed and I hadn't backed up my files. Through ftp, I've downloaded all the files off my websites. Is it possible to create a 'Domain' file using the files I've downloaded? I have every single file I had before, just no way to open it all up in iWeb for editing.

To add to Ethmoid's reminder to backup I've created an Automator workflow application, *iWeb Domain File Backup*, that will copy the User/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder that contains your domain file to the Desktop. You can download it from Toad's Cellar. The workflow can be edited with Automator to change the destination of the backup copy to the location of your choice.

How do I create a new, second, domain file in iWeb?
Is there a way to do it without duplicating an existing domain file?

Quit iWeb and drag your domain file(s) into the trash.
Relaunch iWeb and it will be forced to create a new blank domain file.
Create new folders - one for each file, drag your old one out of the trash into one of them.
Open any site by double clicking the appropriate domain file.
Duplicate your blank and put it in another folder so that, in future, you have a "clean" domain file to duplicate and start new sites.
This is the only sensible way to start new sites as the "accepted" method of duplicating an existing one and deleting the pages is probably going to cause you problems with domain file corruption somewhere down the line.

Anyway to create a domain file from the published site?

My friend and I both use iWeb. She created a site and her hard drive has since crashed. I am trying to see if there is a way to make a domain file from what's on the web without going through creating a page again. Any ideas?

Welcome to the discussions. No, there's no way to create a domain file from the published site. If she doesn't have a backup of her Domain file (e.g. via Time Machine), paragraph 2.3 of this FAQ page gives some tips on how to use published files, graphics, photos, etc., to help rebuild the site from scratch:

First of all I have given a first reading to log4j and I think there will some more easy way of logging debugging messages than log4j (If you could provide me a detailed explanation of a servlet,jsp,java bean that uses log4j and how to use log4j then it will be very helpful for me). I have created multiple instances of OC4J that are configured to run on different ports and so on each instance I have deployed a single web application . And I started the 2 oc4j instances by transferring thier error/log messages to a file. And the other way is ..
I have download from jakarta site a package called servhelper . This servhelper is a thread that is started in a startup servlet and stopped in the destroy method of that startup servlet. So this thread will automatically capture all the system.out.println's and will print those to a file. I believe that this thread program is synchronized. So in this method I need not run multiple instances of OC4J instead each deployed web application on single instance of oc4j uses the same thread program (ofcourse a copy of thread program is put in each of the deployed web applications directories) to log messages on to different log files.
Can you comment on my above 2 approached to logging debugging messages and a compartive explanation to LOG4J and how to use LOG4J using a simple servlet, simple jsp is appreciated ...

Is there a way to create a .dmg file for a DVD inserted into the system

I am wondering if Snow Leopard has integrated any tools that can create a .dmg file for the CD or DVD inserted into the system?
If not, any recommendations for freeware 3rd party tools? Thanks

Insert the disc you want to create the .dmg from, then choose the disc in the left hand pane of Disk Utility. From the File menu, choose New > Disk Image from (name of disc).
EDIT: This is basically how it's done; however, there may be other steps involved, depending on the type of disc you're trying to copy and what your goals are with the .dmg. If you provide more details about what you're trying to achieve, maybe we can help you further.

How to create a .jar file for the BPEL project

hi all,
how can i create a .jar file for my BPEL project, i am trying to deploy the project but getting an error :
"Error: [Error ORABPEL-10902]: compilation failed [Description]: in "C:\OraBPELPM\integration\jdev\jdev\mywork\Workspace_BPELDemo\BPEL_Report\BPEL_Report.bpel", XML parsing failed because "". [Potential fix]: n/a. "
and when doubel cliking on this error Jdev take me to the beginning of the ".bpel" file.
I 'm really stuck in here i am not able to deploy the process!

Hi all, i'm new to Mac book & Xcode. I'm learning and facing problems while creating a new file for Xcode. Before i upgrade the software, i have no issue to create simple steps in apps. After upgrade Xcode to 4.6 version, i'm facing lot's of issue eg.
1) "the identity "iphone developer" doesn't match any valid certificate/ private key pair",

First of all, you're OT.
Second, you can find this everywhere in the net.
If you got a manifest declaring main class (an classpath if needed), just create a file named whatever.bat, within same directory of jar file, containing:
javaw -jar ./WhateverTheNameOfYourJarIs.jar %*By the way, assuming a Windows OS, you can just double click the jar file (no batch is needed).
Otherwise use:
javaw -cp listOfJarsAndDirectoriesSeparedBySemiColon country/company/application/package/className %*Where 'country/company/application/package/' just stands for a package path using '/' as separator instead of '.'
Don't specify the .class extension.
Javaw only works on Windows (you asked for batch, I assumed .BAT, no .sh), in Linux please use java.exe (path may be needed, Windows doesn't need it 'cause java's executables are copied to system32 folder in order to be always available, see PATH environment variable if you don't know what I'm talking about) and use ':' as classpath (cp) separator.
The '%***' tail is there in order to pass all parameters, it only works on Windows, refer to your shell docs for other OSs (something like $* may work).
This way you have a command you can call to launch your code (instead of opening NetBeans just to see your app working). You could schedule tasks on it or just call it in any command prompt (hope you know what it is 'cause there have been people in this very same forum with no clue about it, if not just hold the 'Windows button' and press 'R', then type 'cmd' and run it).
Finally add dukes and give 'hem away.

You can use this to build XML to represent a gantt like chart.
I did this to build XML to represent employee avaliablity - although we fronted the gantt through WD Java not ABAP - the java applet called is the same (I believe).
Don't underestimate the work required to tweek your data into a decent layout. It took me days.
There may be tools/api to help generate the XML - I don't know of them - I'd look forward to seeing any other replies to this thread from people who have used/built any. An example of a class that generates JNet XML - CL_SPI_UI_JNET - but this does not seem to be a Gantt display.

Or is there any other way in which a Java application can be scheduled to run at a particular time on Windows everyday?

Create a .bat file and run that. Just have, in the .bat file:
java YourClassName Alternatively, you can use javaw YourClassName (without *.bat, just put it into Windows Scheduler like suggested above).
using javaw won't pop up any window...
