Create a new Java project in xcode??
I wanto kno if I need to install any additional stuff so I can create java projects in xcode, because when I create a new project java doesent appear in the window, the only types I can create are projects for iphone and Mac OS X but I cant find any java project or even compile a Java file when I open it with Xcode

NetBeans - Cannot create new Java project
Hello all,
I've been trying to create new Java projects in NetBeans 6 for about a week now and it just won't work. First, I receive a nullPointerException when I start the software. Then, I come to my home screen, head to File ->New Project. I'm able to specify the Java Project type. When I want to specfiy the Name and Location of the file, I get "Project Folder exists and is not empty", but the folder never existed at all. It's as if the prompt creates the folder then verifies the folder exists and repeats that error message over and over; even if I change the file name. I've reinstalled the software and the JDK many times but, I' still can't seem to get working.
Any help would be appreciated.

-PenguDelete your old downloads of your JDK and NetBeans, then Download a new copy of the JDK and NetBeans, uninstall what you have go and delete all of the folders that were involved in the original install and then reboot.
Once you have done this, then reinstall from your freshly downloaded copies.
Windows does not yield it's ruined programs very easily--you just have to remove every last bit of it and start again. If the above does not work, then it may be time to go int and edit the registry to remove all reference to the JDK and NetBeans. -
[ot] A UML tool for a new Java project
I am working on the new Java project and need a UML tool to get it start. I am wondering whether anyone one can recommend such tool or not. It can be either stand alone or as an Eclipse plug-in. It shall be able to handle at least 50 classes.

I have only used the personal edition at home, and the other versions have more functionality available
My impressions, FWIW, are
- easier to use than rational rose (I find this one which I have to use at work to be a pain), although, paradoxically enough, they are not that dissimilar in appearance
- I was able to create some reasonably complex models without any problems
- easy to install and start using - no great learning curve
- I tried importing a model I had exported from rose and that did not work very well at all.
- this applies to version 2.2 -
Not able to create a new Flex project in Eclipse
I am trying to use Flex Builder 3 eclipse plug-in for
development. But while creating a new Flex project in eclipse, I'm
getting the following error:
Template template.jst.web has not bee defined.
I am using Eclipse 3.3, and have installed the latest WTP
updates. Can someone point out what I'm missing here?

Do you get this error on every Flex Project you are trying to
create or just on Java/J2EE projects? Flex Builder beta doesn't
support WTP 2.0 but this shouldn't affect the other kind of
projects.

When I create a new BPEL project, I get this message: "Object expected", and on the footnotes, the following message is printed: "event://LogErrorEvent?bpelz.html trapped at 62: object expected"...

Im having the following errors when creating a New Team Project by Visual Studio on TFS2012 with a Sharepoint Site...
This problem not occurs when i don't select to create a sharepoint site...
My Sharepoint is 2010 with SP2...

According to your post, my understanding is that you had Errors TF30162 and TF250025 when creating a New Team Project in TFS2012 with Sharepoint Site on Visual Studio.
The Errors TF30162 seemed that the reports for TFS could not be uploaded due a permission problem. The fix was really easy.
Go to your team foundation server
Open the administration console.
Click on Reporting
Click on Edit
Click on Reports Tab
Enter the credential for the Reports
Save
Click on Start Jobs
In addtion, the problem may be due to the caching done by Team Explorer in Visual Studio. Exiting the copy of VS on the client and reloading it will fix the problem as the updated team process settings will cached locally.
To resolve the Errors TF250025, you will need to register a new internal URL for the SharePoint site using Alternate Access Mappings.

Error on creating a new LightSwitch project
I have installed on my PC Visual Studio 2013 (update 4) and on this PC there was earlier intalled Visual Studio 2012. Now when i try to create a new LightSwitch project i get this error

We can install VS2012 and VS2013 side by side, according to the error message above, you can repair your VS2013, and check whether it helps to fix it.
To repair Visual Studio
1.In Control Panel, on the Programs and Features page, choose the product edition that you want to repair, and then choose Uninstall/Change.
2.In the Setup wizard, choose Repair, choose Next, and then follow the remaining instructions.

Cannot create a new WPF project
In Visual Studio 2013 pro whenever I try to create a new WPF project I receive the following messages:
"The file MainWindow.xaml.cs could not be found within the project templates. Continuing to run, but the resulting project may not build properly."
Then this one:
"The file MainWindow.xaml could not be found within the project templates. Continuing to run, but the resulting project may not build properly."
And then this one:
"Unable to copy the file 'MainWindow.xaml' from the project template to the project. Cannot find file "C:\Users\yoav\AppData\Local\Temp\5jqynsvu.cxy\Temp\MainWindow.xaml".
I tried resetting VS settings as described here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms247075%28v=vs.90%29.aspx
and to reset the project templates as described here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/vstudio/ms247116%28v=vs.100%29.aspx
but with no success.
My PC is Windows 7 64bit and up until this morning everything worked fine...

Actually you mean that you get this issue just when you create the default WPF project with the template, am I right?
If so, I feel that it is your VS IDE issue.
To make sure that it is not the add-ins issue, if you run your VS in safe mode, how about the result?

This version of the Creator allows you to build applications which access existing EJB's, but doesn't create new EJB's from scratch. We are looking into that for future releases.

How do I create a new iDVD project without a theme
I completed an iMovie HD project with an opening title (white letters on black) and all my edited film clips, transitions, sound, etc. It's just the way I want it when I play it back in iMovie. I shared it to Media Browser so I could import it into iDVD. When I start the new iDVD project is appears to force me to choose a Theme. I don't want a new theme. I just want my movie to look just the way I created in iMovie. How do I over ride this step?
A couple of ways to do this ....
1. What I recommend is an "AutoStart Dvd" which involves dragging and dropping your QT movie / file while in mapview to the first / top box. This allows the movie to play in Kiosk Mode and you can also select the loop function so essentially you never actually see a start menu (just the movie) since the dvd will automatically play as soon as it's inserted into most set top dvd players or computers. (the following pic is from iDvd6 however the procedure is idential in iDvd'08 as well).

2. A One Step Dvd from a QT movie / file is also possible and this approach has no menu at all.
To burn a OneStep DVD from a movie on your hard disk:
With iDVD open, choose File > “OneStep DVD from Movie.” as pictured above.
Locate the movie you want to add in the dialog that opens, then click Import.
Insert a blank DVD disc into your computer’s SuperDrive or an external drive when you are prompted to do so.

Best Practice for Creating a New WebHelp Project from an Existing One
I'm currently working in WebHelp Pro (RH version is 9.0.2.271).
I have a WebHelp project which currently supports the 2012 version of one of our projects. What I needed to do was to create a separate 2013 project, using the 2012 files as the starting point. I couldn't find a way in RH to create a new project by importing an existing WebHelp project, so I copied the 2012 files to a new directory, opened up the project, and renamed it.
What prompts this question is that following this exercise, all seemed well, for a time. However, I have recently had to create new topics in the 2012 version. However, when I imported these topics to the 2013 project and compiled, they vanished--although the htm files still appear in the appropriate 2013 file folder (when viewed with Windows Explorer).
After reading some forum postings, I thought that I might have corrupted my database by improperly creating the new project--but if what I did is the wrong way to go about it, I'm not sure what the correct way is. I will be grateful for any suggestions.The easy way to do this is create a copy using Windows Explorer.
Open the project and go to File > Rename.
Then you have your 2013 ready made project.

Creating a New Report Project Crashes
Hello,
I've just downloaded the release of CR for VS2010 and installed it correctly.
But when i try to create a new report in a new solution (i use emty project ) and then try to add with the database expert databases it freeze the vs2010 with no timeout and no error message.
I saw in te forums that it's a recuring question so i tried to build a Virtual machine with win7 x64 and VS2010 and install CR on this fresh installation and it works !
I'm wondering if there is any relation with the way my developpement machine was installed:
Installed VS2010
Installed VS2008
Installed CR for VS 2008 sp1
then Installed CR for VS 2010
Also when i try to make a new project with the Crystal Reports Project Template there's a reference missing in the project. Even if i correct the mis-reference the project hangs on the database expert ...
Could you investigate ? i don't want to reinstall my dev computer and i need the CR2008 just time to upgrade the Projects to VS 2010...

Can you download debugdiag from Microsoft, if you don't have it already, and run it to capture on devenv.exe. Analyze it and tell me what dll the crash is happening in?

I have a multi form project and I was trying to create a new instance of my multiform project but just i was created a new instance of form1

File access in a Java project under XCode
Hello again,
I have had another issue: I'm trying to have one of my classes read information from an XML file, whose location is in the same folder as the classes and, indeed, the project (and the .xcodeproj file).
So I give the file's name to the method, but it cannot seem to find the file where I put it; instead, it looks for it in (Project folder)/Build/Debug/.
What should I do? I do not feel it wise to put it into Build/Debug as it is a file that should be deployed along with the rest of the application (when I learn how to make one, that is), but after a little searching around I'm a bit at a loss about that.

Well, preference files are fine but I don't view them as useful for data.

You can create a bundle from a Java program using

If your program relies on a number files (for example
jpg files for graphics and wav files for sounds) then
these can be added to the jar file. Xcode will do
this for you if you add the file to the project, then
drag it onto the Build Java Resources build phase.
This form of words will extract the file called
stars.jpg from the jar file:

Interesting, but the software I'm using as a model of sorts (as far as general design goes from a user point of view) seems to have little in the jar file besides classes. I'd like sufficiently advanced users to be able to access the data files directly (I'll make them nice XML files) but not get into the .jar. Tell you what, I just stumbled on the XML reading class and it seems to be using File.getAbsolutePath(). I must try this.
This works on all Java platforms and so is often
used. There is a standard Unix/Terminal command
called jar which gives you fine control over a jar
file. Type man jar in Terminal for details and more
info about jar files.

Well, they are. But I suddenly realize it may work fine and well while in debug, but not so well once everything is compiled and set into a nice application. I'll try this.
BTW. Did you know that a Java program can find out
which platform it's running on? Just call String
opSys = System.getProperty ("os.name");
This enables you to use different solutions for each
different platform.
Actually, I knew about System.getProperty. I've been trying to use it to imitate the Application.Path property from Visual Basic (the language I use most at work), that returns the current location of the application. Does there exist something like that in Java? I've tried System.getProperty with "user.dir", "java.home" and "java.class.path", to no avail: the first gives me Build/Debug (or Build/Release, depending on the build configuration), the second returns the place where you can find Java, in the System/Library structure, and the third yields a looooong path list.
(Still, might be onto something with that File.getAbsolutePath() thingie. I really have to try it.)

Error when creating a new ABAP project
Hello ADT Gurus,
I'm trying to start using Eclipse for ABAP development. However after successful installation of ADT into Eclipse I'm still not able to create an ABAP project.
When I want to create ABAP project I always receive following error message:
An error has occurred. See error log for more details.
No enum constant com.sap.adt.destinations.model.internal.ISystemConfigurationInternal.OriginType.NUL
Does anyone have an idea, solution, suggestion....advice?

That's exactely how I proceeded today and at the end found a reason of my error.... yey
There were invalid parameters in section [Origin] of my saplogon.ini file.
See attached screenshot.
According to OSS note 99435 - 'NUL' is not an allowed value.
Those items don't refer to a SAP systems, they represents only kind of a "separator" between landscapes with a description.
My problem was solved by changing those values to 'USEREDIT' .
Anyway...native SAP logon worked w/o problems even with these invalid entries in saplogon.ini.
