Create a Quartely Report
Hi All,
I need to create a report which runs with NO parametric value but determines the Data that falls on Quarterly Basis. Suppose if the user runs the quarterly report on the end of january 2008, it will extract the data from Oct - Dec 2007 without parametric value
Is it possible to use Now(), DateDiff and DatePart functions in Record selection area. I have a Date field in my Database.
Can somebody given me the syntax how to use in Record Selection.
Thanks...
<p>Hi Rahul</p><p>Not sure if I entirely understand but I will give it a try. To automate the scheduling of the report you can use either Crystal Reports Server or Business Objects Enterprise. Both of these products are built on the same framework and have report scheduling built into their feature set. </p><p>Both of these products allow you to schedule reports based on end of Month, end of Qauter, or end of week. They even have the ability to set more complicated scheduling features using custom calendars and events.</p><p>That solves the automation problem.</p><p>The second problem that you seem to have is that the report needs to only bring back the data for a certain time periods. You can use Crystal Reports to add "selection formulas". Search the help to see how you can create a custom selection formula that filters the data to only bring back the last 3 months.</p><p>PS. Crystal Reports Server comes free with Crystal Reports. </p><p>Rob Horne<br /><a href="/blog/10">Rob's blog - http://diamond.businessobjects.com/blog/10</a></p>

How to create a vertical report
I am new to Application Express. I am trying to create some basic financial reports using it (e.g. Income Statement, Balance Sheet). Typically, these reports are organized vertically where each quarter's financial data is displayed as a separate column. Can someone point me in the right direction on how to create these types of reports using Application Express?
I did play with the "vertical report, look 1" report template. When I used this each record was oriented vertically instead of the default horizontal orientation, but the records appeared in individual tables instead of one large table with multiple columns.
Here is an example of the type of report I am trying to create: http://finance.yahoo.com/q/is?s=ORCL
Thanks in advance.Hi Jim,
You can do this if you create a custom Row Template. I don't have your tables, so the following is based on:
SELECT ENAME, SAL, COMM FROM EMP ORDER BY 11 - Go to Shared Components, Templates
2 - Click Create
3 - Select Report
4 - Select From Scratch
5 - Enter a name for the template, select any template class (eg, Custom 1) and select "Named Column (row template)"
6 - Click Create
Now edit the template and use the following settings:
Row Template 1
<td align="right" style="width:200px;">#1#<br>#2#<br>#3#<br></td>Before Rows
<table>
<tr>
<td align="right">Name<br>Salary<br>Commission</td>After Rows
</tr>
</table>The pagination settings can be copied from a report template of your choice
Attach the new template to your report and run the page. The Before Rows html will be rendered first, then for each "row" in the report a new TD cell is created with all the data for that "row" (note that #1#, #2# and #3# refers to columns 1, 2 and 3 - so, in this example, that's ENAME, SAL and COMM respectively) and, after the maximum number of rows per the report settings has been reached, the After Rows html is added, thereby completing the row.
Obviously, you'll have to add in your own styling and change the above to suit your specific needs, but that should give you a starting point.

Creating a custom report with detailed header and then associated detail
I am very new to CRMOD, so this question may be basic, but I have not found any good material yet to help me out, so here goes.
We are trying to create a Quote report that will be sent to our customers. The report needs to have both a header and detail section basically as follows:
<Header>
Quote Form
Date:
Expiration Date:
Sales Person Name:
Customer Name and address
Terms
... some other text data ...
<Detail>
Standard fields that define the quote, these are easy.
What I cannot determine how to do is create the header section. In the report designer, it only allows for a Title, logo, and another text line. Can anyone suggest another method?I do not have the narrative option.
Options available are:
Title
Table
Chart
Pivot Table
Gauge
Active Filters
legend
Advanced
--> Column Selector
--> View Selector
--> Funnel Chart
--> Ticker
According to the documentation, the narrative view should be available from the advanced menu. Am I on a different package by chance? -
Creating a service report using SQVI
Hi experts
I am creating a service report using SQVI
The report should have the following fiels
SrvPO No | SrvPO Data | vendor | Stata | City | Type of Srv (Ad\banner|maintnc.) | Amount | Status(open or closed)
I am using the following tables using table join fnc
1. EKKO
EBELN-PO No
AEDAT - PO Data
LIFNR - Vendor
PROCSTAT - Status of PO doc
2.LIFNR
REGIO - State
ORTO1 - City
3. ESSR
TXZ01 - Type of Service (Short text)
4.EKPO
NETWE - Net amount of PO
All the tables are legally join but after executing I am not able to fetch any data or hardly one service PO.
And the selection field will be only From Date and To date.or the Service PO No.
Immediate response is urgent

How to create a document/report on all objects in the BW system?
Hi,
The requirement in our company is to create a document/report with the list of all the objects that exist in the BW system for various applications. This list should contain the technical details of the different objects and where an object is used, what's the source for the object etc. The information should be similar to that in the Metadata repository but it should be one single document/report which includes all the objects.
I tried using the 0TCTBWOBJCT info object (content browser) but it was not of great help.
Can anyone help me out in this task?
Thanks,
AnuHi,
Try to use tables RSOSFIELDMAP, RSDSSEGFD and RSTRAN
Hope it helps

Best ways to create rpd or reports if we have data in more fact tables
I have fact and dimensional data in one or more different tables. Then each logical table source represents one data segment.Please suggest me some methods or ways like fragmentation through which i can use them in creating rpd and report and main problem here is facts too large contains 25 million records.But adding tables in BMM layer effecting performance so can anyone other ways doing it in database side.
Thanks in advance
Edited by: user2989722 on Dec 3, 2009 3:09 PMhi,
For the fragmentation you can create on dimension .The procedure is clearly explained in this blog
http://108obiee.blogspot.com/2009/01/fragmentation-in-obiee.html
http://www.rittmanmead.com/2007/06/19/obiee-data-modeling-tips-2-fragmentation/
For the performance point of view you can create a Materialized view (based on columns that your report is using) so that it will hit that particluar view instead of hitting whole table(25million records table) please look into this post
Re: Materialized views in OBIEE

Viewing Report created in Crystal Report Designer
<p>Hi,</p><p>I'm new to CR4E and tries to work with existing report. I saw many error while trying this, please excuse me to the long email below that I explain all the errors I saw......</p><p>I have some reports that were created in Crystal Report Designer (CR XI Release 2) connecting to the Oracle Database using "Oracle Server" type connection. How can I access it from CR4E? I have the following problem (in the order I see them)</p><p>1) In the Eclipse's JSP page, I specified the full path to the report, but I get a report not found error. Must the report locate within the project? Is there any way we can open a report outside of the project?</p><p>2) I copied the report to the project, </p><p> a) followed jrc_print_report example to print the report, get "JNDI name not found" error. </p><p> b) then generate a viewer page, but I get the Driver "crdb_oracle.dll" is not supported error.</p><p>3) I setup the new JNDI followed the jrc_changedatasource.jsp example to change the datasource, but I still get the "JNDI name not found" error.</p><p>4) I imported the report intoEclipse and changed the connection. Then I can create a jsp page to print it to a printer (I still can't view it, but my goal is to print, so that's ok). However, </p><p> a) the original report has a "Command" object from the Oracle database to control where to select the report's data, when I remap, this object disappear and I cannot see how to recreate it. Any suggestion?</p><p> b) also, the report is very complex with many subreports and it will be nightmare to go in and change all of the datasource, also a maintenance nightmare to maintain two copies. Any better suggestions?</p><p>Thank you very much! Your help is very appreciated.</p><p>Celia</p>
Hi Celia
1. Yes the Java Reporting Component (JRC) which is the runtime component of the Crystal Reports for Eclipse can open reports outside the project.  Its often better to have the reports inside the project for deployment purposes but you are welcome to put the report where ever you need it.Â
Note: To use absolute paths, ensure that the CRConfig.xml file does not contain a reportlocation tag.
2. The JRC can't report off of Oracle directly, you would need to use a JDBC driver to connect your reports to Oracle. The crdb_oracle.dll will never connect because its not Java.Â
3. When the JRC finds that the report is not using a supported database driver it will do a lookup to find the name of the report datasource. When it finds the datasource name it will then do a JNDI lookup for a JDBC datasource with the same name. If your Application server doesn't have a datasource with that name it will through the error you were seeing.Â
4. I'm not sure about losing the Command object when changing the datasource but this is probably happening because the Command is linked to the database driver.
5. What you could try doing is creating a JDBC Datasource on your application server where this app will run with a JNDI name that matches your report datasource name. If your reports datasource name is "MyOracleDatasource" then I believe the JNDI name for new JDBC Datasource would have to be "jdbc/MyOracleDatasource".
You could give this a try.

Inputs requried to create purchase order report from flat file
inputs requried to create purchase order report from flat file
At a guess, I'd say purchase order data.
If you don't give us a clue what you are actually trying to do we can't really help you too much.
Do you want to call a BAPI? Do a BDC? Use an IDOC? Or just generally muck up the system by doing inserts into the purchasing tables?
No doubt if you tell us, you'll get lots and lots of suggestions.

How to create a daily report for sales order
hi
how to create a daily report for sales order. what fields it must consists of. what are the tables it need?Hi
You have to use the sales order tables VBAK,VBAP and VBEP
So keep date field on selection screen
and treat this date as Order creation data audat field in VBAK.
based on this fetch the data from VBAK and VBAP with the following fields like
VBELN, KUNNR,NETWR,POSNR, MATNR,ARKTX,KWMENG,WAERS etc and display in the report

Create an Activity Report for Current Week
I would like to create a activity report for the current week. The trick is that if the weekday is Wednesday or earlier (Sunday being the first day of the week), the report shows last week's activities; but if the weekday is Thursday or later (Saturday being the last day of the week), the report shows the current weeks activities.
I have a filter that works in Access but does not seem to work in Siebel. It does just what I explained above:
Between CDate(Int((IIf(Weekday(Now())<=4,Now()-(6+Weekday(Now())),Now()-(Weekday(Now())-1))))) And CDate(Int((IIf(Weekday(Now())<=4,Now()-Weekday(Now()),Now()+(7-Weekday(Now()))))))
Thank you,
David
Edited by: DavidE on Oct 7, 2008 4:17 PMDavid,
try this:
case DAYOFWEEK(CAST(Activity."Planned Start Time" AS date))when 1 then timestampadd(sql_tsi_day,1,CAST(Activity."Planned Start Time" AS date)) when 3 then timestampadd(sql_tsi_day,-1,CAST(Activity."Planned Start Time" AS date)) when 4 then timestampadd(sql_tsi_day,-2,CAST(Activity."Planned Start Time" AS date)) when 5 then timestampadd(sql_tsi_day,-3,CAST(Activity."Planned Start Time" AS date)) when 6 then timestampadd(sql_tsi_day,-4,CAST(Activity."Planned Start Time" AS date)) when 7 then timestampadd(sql_tsi_day,-5,CAST(Activity."Planned Start Time" AS date)) else CAST(Activity."Planned Start Time" AS date) end
This gave me the sunday of the week. You should be able to modify this format for your purposes.
cheers

How to create the Updateable Report
Hi,
I have a requirement to create a Updatable report.
I don't find any option of creating that..when I go create Page, I find only SQL Report or Interactive Report.
Want to know
- if there is any documentation for creating Updatable report..I mean step by step process.
- report is having 10 fields and user want only 4-5 fields to be updated.
- Can we create updatable Report for SQL query based on 2-3 tables, I mean joins
- How the fields are getting updated..if we have to write the update statement manually or updating is done automatically.
- can the updatable fields be updatable/read only based on user. (I mean suppose user1 logins, he can update the description field but when user2 logins..he cannot update decription field..he can only view the filed as a norma report column)
Appreciate if some one can provide me the details..
Thanks,
DeepakHi Deepak
Rather than looking in reports go to create a Form and select Tabular Forrm - this is essentially just an updateable form and should get you started.
Cheers

How to create a custom Report in SAP CRM using the Bol Framework
Hi Guys
I have developed a report in SE38 which calls a custom Function Module within it and it works all good.
Now I want to take my Function Module as well as the external structures I created for this report and use them to make a View in SAP CRM which will allow the user to make selection and then when they click on a button another view has to be shown which should have the content of the report based on the selection.
I know how to create a view based on the standard object types but this time I want to use my custom function Module..
Kindly advice or refer me to a link that might be useful.
