Create a Ranges Table Type

I tried to create a Ranges Table Type as per SAP Help. It does get created,
But the warning message occurs when create line type for this table type.
I had been through standard help of Creating a Ranges Table Type:
URL:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/4f/991f82446d11d189700000e8322d00/frameset.htm)
The warning message is as under:
Field name OPTION is reserved (Do not use structure as include in DB table)
I replaced this field with another name, then it asks for fieldname "OPTION".
Your valuable suggestions please!

Hi
Just I said in my prevoius answer you can define a dictionary structure like this:
FIELD     DATA ELEMENT
.INCLUDE  SRANGE
LOW       MATNR
HIGH      MATNR
In this way you have a structure like the range R_MATNR, and you can use it to define your paramenter in TABLE PARAMETER of Function:
FUNCTION ZTRANSFER_RANGES.
""Interfaccia locale:
*"  TABLES
*"      RMATNR STRUCTURE  ZMATNR
DATA T_MARA LIKE STANDARD TABLE OF MARA.
SELECT * FROM MARA INTO TABLE T_MARA WHERE MATNR IN RMATNR.
ENDFUNCTION.
But you can also define a table parameter without definition:
FUNCTION ZTRANSFER_RANGES.
""Interfaccia locale:
*"  TABLES
*"      RMATNR
DATA T_MARA LIKE STANDARD TABLE OF MARA.
SELECT * FROM MARA INTO TABLE T_MARA WHERE MATNR IN RMATNR.
ENDFUNCTION.

  • Range table type conflict

    Hi!
Can anybody please tell me what is wrong with this code.
I am trying to pass a range table to a function that takes a following type of table:
    Range table type: rangetab_tty
    Structured Row Type: ranges_row
Associated type for LOW/HIGH components: some_element
    Here is my test program:
    DATA:
    lt TYPE rangetab_tty,
    lt_line TYPE LINE OF rangetab_tty.
    lt_line-sign = 'I'.
    lt_line-option = 'BT'.
    lt_line-low = '0'.
    lt_line-high = '1'.
    APPEND lt_line TO lt.
and now I am passing this table and then I get the runtime error "table type conflict" because it seems I am passing the range table wrong.
    regards

    Hi,
    You can do this way:
    Ranges: lt_line for <table-fieldname>.
Then fill the values as you are doing
    lt_line-sign = 'I'.
    lt_line-option = 'BT'.
    lt_line-low = '0'.
    lt_line-high = '1'.
    APPEND lt_line .

  • Create Value Set of Table Type

    Hi,
Could you provide me a sample program for creating a value Set of Table type.
    Thanks
    Tim.

    Hi,
I was able to create value set (table type) from the System Administrator and attached the value set to the Inventory Kanban DFF Form.
I'm having issue here, value set is created on Custom Table which has data as below :
    EX:- Custom table has Item_Num: 101 , Lot_Num: Lot_1 & Item_Num: 102 , Lot_Num: Lot_2
When I go into DFF form in Inventory for item_Num: 101 it should only allow to enter Lot_1 but it is accepting Lot_2 also.
I must be missing some where clause in the value set setup.
    Any suggestions?
    R12 Version.
    Thanks
    Tim.

  • Not able to create a parameter of type STRING_TABLE in BOR

    Hi All,
I want to send a table of type STRING_TABLE from webdynpro to workflow.
I have created this table of type STRING_TABLE in webdynpro as well as in workflow successfully.
But i am not able to create a parameter of type STRING_TABLE in BOR event as well as method.
It is giving me error as "Data type STRING_TABLE can not be used".
So how can i send my internal table value of STRING_TABLE type into workflow?
    Regards,
    Amar

    Hi,
I agree Vinoth in certain aspects. It is not possibly the best idea to try to store a string table in workflow container. There are certain limitations in the container (255 characters) in certain situations and you might find yourself in problems in the future. So, consider converting the string data into some other format - OR you could also check if you can limit somehow the lenght in WDA (but of course then you will still have the same problem about the string table data type).
If you want to try to it, you should be able to create your own table type of string. I don't remember the details but there might be something "special" about the STRING_TABLE (only available in WDA or whatever), and that's why you are seeing the error. So, try to create your own table type that has string data type as an row. Then use that.
But as I said, you might see some problems. For example, if you try to read the container with SAP_WAPI_READ_CONTAINER, it will just return you the first 255 characters of each row, etc. There are ways to overcome these kind of problems, but just to let you know, they might not be that simple.

  • Table type in import parameter in rfc function module

Hi we don't have the table type in our system which exist in the other system which is the import parameter of the rfc function module.so how can we pass the parameter. shell we create the same table type in our system also.it is a table type for a deep structure.

    Hello,
I donot have access to CRM box I cannot view the FM. You can verify with the CRM counterpart what exactly is the TYPE for param DATA.
Else you can define a generic internal table (TYPE TABLE) & try calling the FM.

  • Regarding Table type..

    Hi,
I used to declare internal table as given below and use them in the program,
    Data : int1 type Mara.
    Data : int2 like Mara.
But recently i saw a syntax as given below,
    Data: <internal table name> type <Table type>.
    What is table type?
What is it use when declaring with internal table?
I saw table type in SE11 and entered MARA in table type but i got information that "No objects correspond to the selection criteria". Please give me example for "table type".

    Hi,
    Check this out......
You can specify the table type <tabkind> as follows:
    ANY TABLE->
    1.INDEX Table.
    2.Hashed table.
    In INDEX TABLE->
    1.STANDARD TABLE.
    2.SORTED TABLE.
    Generic table types
    INDEX TABLE
For creating a generic table type with index access.
    ANY TABLE
For creating a fully-generic table type.
Data types defined using generic types can currently only be used for field symbols and for interface parameters in procedures . The generic type INDEX TABLE includes standard tables and sorted tables. These are the two table types for which index access is allowed. You cannot pass hashed tables to field symbols or interface parameters defined in this way. The generic type ANY TABLE can represent any table. You can pass tables of all three types to field symbols and interface parameters defined in this way. However, these field symbols and parameters will then only allow operations that are possible for all tables, that is, index operations are not allowed.
    Fully-Specified Table Types
    STANDARD TABLE or TABLE
    For creating standard tables.
    SORTED TABLE
    For creating sorted tables.
    HASHED TABLE
    For creating hashed tables.
Fully-specified table types determine how the system will access the entries in the table in key operations. It uses a linear search for standard tables, a binary search for sorted tables, and a search using a hash algorithm for hashed tables.

  • Senarious for using different internal table types

please give scenarios for  using different internal table types?

    Refer to the following.
    Internal table types
This section describes how to define internal tables locally in a program. You can also define internal tables globally as data types in the ABAP Dictionary.
Like all local data types in programs , you define internal tables using the TYPES statement. If you do not refer to an existing table type using the TYPE or LIKE addition, you can use the TYPES statement to construct a new local internal table in your program.
    TYPES <t> TYPE|LIKE <tabkind> OF <linetype> [WITH <key>]
    [INITIAL SIZE <n>].
After TYPE or LIKE, there is no reference to an existing data type. Instead, the type constructor occurs:
    <tabkind> OF <linetype> [WITH <key>]
The type constructor defines the table type <tabkind>, the line type <linetype>, and the key <key> of the internal table <t>.
You can, if you wish, allocate an initial amount of memory to the internal table using the INITIAL SIZE addition.
    Table type
You can specify the table type <tabkind> as follows:
    Line type
For the line type <linetype>, you can specify:
Any data type if you are using the TYPE addition. This can be a predefined ABAP type, a local type in the program, or a data type from the ABAP Dictionary. If you specify any of the generic elementary types C, N, P, or X, any attributes that you fail to specify (field length, number of decimal places) are automatically filled with the default values. You cannot specify any other generic types.
Any data object recognized within the program at that point if you are using the LIKE addition. The line type adopts the fully-specified data type of the data object to which you refer. Except for within classes, you can still use the LIKE addition to refer to database tables and structures in the ABAP Dictionary (for compatibility reasons).
All of the lines in the internal table have the fully-specified technical attributes of the specified data type.
    Key
You can specify the key <key> of an internal table as follows:
    [UNIQUE|NON-UNIQUE] KEY <col1> ... <col n>
In tables with a structured line type, all of the components <coli> belong to the key as long as they are not internal tables or references, and do not contain internal tables or references. Key fields can be nested structures. The substructures are expanded component by component when you access the table using the key. The system follows the sequence of the key fields.
    [UNIQUE|NON-UNIQUE] KEY TABLE LINE
If a table has an elementary line type (C, D, F, I, N, P, T, X), you can define the entire line as the key. If you try this for a table whose line type is itself a table, a syntax error occurs. If a table has a structured line type, it is possible to specify the entire line as the key. However, you should remember that this is often not suitable.
    [UNIQUE|NON-UNIQUE] DEFAULT KEY
This declares the fields of the default key as the key fields. If the table has a structured line type, the default key contains all non-numeric columns of the internal table that are not and do not contain references or internal tables. If the table has an elementary line type, the default key is the entire line. The default key of an internal table whose line type is an internal table, the default key is empty.
Specifying a key is optional. If you do not specify a key, the system defines a table type with an arbitrary key. You can only use this to define the types of field symbols and the interface parameters of procedures . For exceptions, refer to Special Features of Standard Tables.
The optional additions UNIQUE or NON-UNIQUE determine whether the key is to be unique or non-unique, that is, whether the table can accept duplicate entries. If you do not specify UNIQUE or NON-UNIQUE for the key, the table type is generic in this respect. As such, it can only be used for specifying types. When you specify the table type simultaneously, you must note the following restrictions:
You cannot use the UNIQUE addition for standard tables. The system always generates the NON-UNIQUE addition automatically.
You must always specify the UNIQUE option when you create a hashed table.
    Initial Memory Requirement
You can specify the initial amount of main memory assigned to an internal table object when you define the data type using the following addition:
    INITIAL SIZE <n>
This size does not belong to the data type of the internal table, and does not affect the type check. You can use the above addition to reserve memory space for <n> table lines when you declare the table object.
When this initial area is full, the system makes twice as much extra space available up to a limit of 8KB. Further memory areas of 12KB each are then allocated.
You can usually leave it to the system to work out the initial memory requirement. The first time you fill the table, little memory is used. The space occupied, depending on the line width, is 16 <= <n> <= 100.
It only makes sense to specify a concrete value of <n> if you can specify a precise number of table entries when you create the table and need to allocate exactly that amount of memory (exception: Appending table lines to ranked lists). This can be particularly important for deep-structured internal tables where the inner table only has a few entries (less than 5, for example).
To avoid excessive requests for memory, large values of <n> are treated as follows: The largest possible value of <n> is 8KB divided by the length of the line. If you specify a larger value of <n>, the system calculates a new value so that n times the line width is around 12KB.
    Examples
    TYPES: BEGIN OF LINE,
    COLUMN1 TYPE I,
    COLUMN2 TYPE I,
    COLUMN3 TYPE I,
    END OF LINE.
TYPES ITAB TYPE SORTED TABLE OF LINE WITH UNIQUE KEY COLUMN1.
The program defines a table type ITAB. It is a sorted table, with line type of the structure LINE and a unique key of the component COLUMN1.
TYPES VECTOR TYPE HASHED TABLE OF I WITH UNIQUE KEY TABLE LINE.
    TYPES: BEGIN OF LINE,
    COLUMN1 TYPE I,
    COLUMN2 TYPE I,
    COLUMN3 TYPE I,
    END OF LINE.
TYPES ITAB TYPE SORTED TABLE OF LINE WITH UNIQUE KEY COLUMN1.
    TYPES: BEGIN OF DEEPLINE,
    FIELD TYPE C,
    TABLE1 TYPE VECTOR,
    TABLE2 TYPE ITAB,
    END OF DEEPLINE.
TYPES DEEPTABLE TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF DEEPLINE
    WITH DEFAULT KEY.
The program defines a table type VECTOR with type hashed table, the elementary line type I and a unique key of the entire table line. The second table type is the same as in the previous example. The structure DEEPLINE contains the internal table as a component. The table type DEEPTABLE has the line type DEEPLINE. Therefore, the elements of this internal table are themselves internal tables. The key is the default key - in this case the column FIELD. The key is non-unique, since the table is a standard table.

  • Creating abap program to develop and activate a global table type and global structure.

    Hi friends,
I want to create and activate a global structure and global table type by coding in ABAP editor only. so can I do that anyhow.
    Please help me.
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks guys for your fruitful replies, as most of you asked the main purpose of my question, the answer is as follows:
in fact my purpose to do so is to create a function module that can fetch data dynamically from different database tables based on the codings in different abap program.
for example: in one abap program i am coding as follows:
    tables: kna1.
    types: begin of itab,
              kunnr type kna1-kunnr,
              name1 type kna1-name1,
              end of itab.
data: it_tab type standard table of itab,
             wa_tab type itab.
similarly in other program i am coding as follows:
    tables: vbrp.
    types: begin of itab,
              posnr type vbrp-posnr,
              matnr type vbrp-matnr,
              arktx type vbrp-arktx,
              end of itab.
data: it_tab type standard table of itab,
             wa_tab type itab.
so now for both programs i want to call the same function module and fetch data as required in relative programs as mentioned above. in that case how to create that function module?

  • Creating a external content type for Read and Update data from two tables in sqlserver using sharepoint designer

    Hi
how to create a external content type for  Read and Update data from two tables in  sqlserver using sharepoint designer 2010
i created a bcs service using centraladministration site
i have two tables in sqlserver
    1)Employee
    -empno
    -firstname
    -lastname
    2)EmpDepartment
    -empno
    -deptno
    -location
i want to just create a list to display employee details from two tables
    empid firstname deptno location
and same time update  in two tables
    adil

When I try to create an external content type based on a view (AdventureWorks2012.vSalesPerson) - I can display the data in an external list.  When I attempt to edit it, I get an error:
External List fails when attached to a SQL view
    Sorry, something went wrong
Failed to update a list item for this external list based on the Entity (External Content Type) 'SalesForce' in EntityNamespace 'http://xxxxxxxx'. Details: The query against the database caused an error.
I can edit the view in SQL Manager, so it seems strange that it fails.
Any advice would be greatly GREATLY appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Randy

  • How to create a table type context node

    Hi,
I am trying to create table type context node. While creating, in the wizard no where I can see the option for this.
Could you please let me know how can I do this?
In one standard component: SRQM_INCIDENT_H, I can see multiple table type context nodes. Not sure how and why?
    Thanks,
    Sandeep

    HI Sandeep,
When you right click on context node and create , a wizard will open. In that Wizard in one sreen it will ask for type of view. There you have to select Table View.

  • Proble creating Table Type = Select in 10gR3

In a very simple example case I have a customers table that I am trying to create a Table Type of Select in the physical layer.
Using the Admin tool I create "New Physical tabe" and enter select * from customer where region = 'East'
If I "Update All Row Counts" it now shows 56 rows - which is correct
If I try and "view data" I get an error
[nQSError: 17001] Oracle Error Code: 936, messgae: ORA-00936: missing expression at OCI cal OCIStmtExecute.
[nQSError: 17010] SQL Statement preparation failed.
If I deploy the view I can go to sqlplus and select from it.
I have tried qualifying table name and selecting specific columns - I know its not a permission issue and presumably the fact that it counted rows correctly confirms it must have generated correct SQL.
I'm puzzled - what am I missing here?

This is standard behavior..Update Row Count work fine since SELECT COUNT (*) FROM (select * from customer where region = 'East') is a valid SQL, View Data doesn't work since your columns aren't named, so OBI cant select col1, col2, etc.
    Hope this explains.

  • How to create table type in SAP3.1i ?

    Hi Friends,
Is it posible to create table type in SAP 3.1i server ?

    Hi amit,
I think there were no table types in 3.1i. Still you can define a structured table, i.e.
DATA: BEGIN OF SORT_SPFLI OCCURS 100,
            CARRID   LIKE SPFLI-CARRID,
            CONNID   LIKE SPFLI-CONNID,
            CITYFROM LIKE SPFLI-CITYFROM,
            CITYTO   LIKE SPFLI-CITYTO,
            SFLIGHT  LIKE SORT_SFLIGHT OCCURS 100,
          END OF SORT_SPFLI.
You can use field-symbols, but no loop assigning.
What is it you want to do?
Anyway: Have fun with good old 3.1 - I put my old docu CD in the trash recently.
    Regards
    Clemens
