Create Authorization Schemes with plsql
Hello
I´d like to create an Application, which has many "Authorization Schemes".
The source of this schemes is a permission-table in the database.
How could i create the schemes automaticly by script?
That would save many time for creation and changes by hand.
Thanks.

Scubus,
I found the syntax in the export file as well. By omitting p_id, APEX will generate an unique one.
You have to run the sample as FLOWS or owner (with apex_administrator_role) with security group id set. You can find the security group ID from the export file (right below big APEX text), or run select &WORKSPACE_ID. from dual within application.
The p_flow_id is the application ID.
SQL > exec wwv_flow_api.set_security_group_id(p_security_group_id=>858728211457679);
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
SQL > begin
wwv_flow_api.create_security_scheme(
p_flow_id => 114,
p_name=>'Check EMP4',
p_scheme_type=>'EXISTS',
p_scheme=>'select 1 from emp',
p_caching=>'BY_USER_BY_PAGE_VIEW',
p_error_message=>'EMP must exists');
end;
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

Error creating OIM schema with RCU 11.1.1.3.3 (RCU-6135)
Hello!
I'm trying to install Oracle Access & Identity Management 11g on Windows Server 2003 32bit machine
As main guide I use the article from onlineappsdba.com ( [this one|http://onlineappsdba.com/index.php/2010/08/05/oracleidm-11g-step-by-installation-of-oam-oim-oaam-oapm-oin-111130-part-i-load-schema/print/] )
I have installed Oracle Database 11.2.0.1.0
After that I try to create required schemas using RCU 11.1.1.3.3 and constantly get failed on creating OIM schema with error RCU-6135:Error while trying to execute Java action..
All other schemas were created successfully.
I've checked oim.log and there were no sql errors.
In the rcu.log I found next messages:

I've searched through the OTN and Internet but did not found any solution.
Please help me.
Any advises will be appreciated.I've tried to run RCU 11.1.1.3.3 on Ubuntu 32-bit and OIM schema creation failed again but with another error RCU-1636 Failed to start PL/SQL engine.
After that I found RCU 11.1.1.4, downladed it and this version created all schemas successfully.
Hope all other components will be ok with new version of RCU -
Create Authorization Scheme for LDAP Groups
I have installed APEX 4.0 in my staging environment and got the LDAPS to finally work. I can now login to the application with my LAN user name and password. The only problem is so can everyone else on the LAN. So I wanted to create an authorization scheme that would only allow a certain group or groups of LDAP users into the application rather than everyone.
I am at the Create Authorization Scheme page and am kind of stuck. Has anyone done this before and can share some SQL or knowledge?hi larosejh
If you want to do that you must write your own procedures using the dbms_ldap package. I found some code a while back that searches the LDAP. Maybe you can use this to create a function for your authentication.

Issue in creating OPSS Schema with rcu.
Hi,
There is an issue in creating the OPSS schema in oracle DB 11.2.0.3.0 even though the rcu (Oracle Fusion Middleware Repository Creation Utility 11g (11.1.2.1.0)
completed it without any error with status of success opss schema at the end of it's creation operation.
But the validation of opss schema is getting Failed as shown by this query ! I 've refferenced this Doc's Configuring the OPSS Security Store
SQL> desc jps_dn;
ERROR:
ORA-04043: object jps_dn does not exist
There is no error in rcu log And in opss.log as well. Also There is NO issue in createing the Other schema's like OIM,OAM,OAAM
Wonder what am missing here that causing the shema not reflecting or Validation of it getting Failed in the database.
Also i 've tried by changing this sec_case_sensitive_logon value to False from true in the DB but to no effect.
in both cases the OPSS schema validation is getting failed.
Greately appreciate any suggestion.
Please see the following summary of rcu operation

PriyaHi,
Thanks for the response Hussein and Helios,
I am able to solve the issue as it was due to incorrect rcu version.
But I am really struggling to Configure Policy store for the last 10 days with the following Error. I would be highly obliged if you could guide me on this issue.
I am getting stuck at this Error while running configureSecurityStore.py. for the error I 've refferenced these Metalink Note ID's
But to No Avail.
configureSecurityStore.py Fails With ORA-00001: unique constraint (DEV_OPSS.IDX_JPS_RDN_PDN) violated. (Doc ID 1547423.1) (1549203.1)
Summarining
The steps that I 've followed
1. Created the Schema's Using rcu 11g (11.1.2.0.0) on 11.2.0.3.0 Oracle DB. (OS :RHEL 64 bit)
2. Insatlled Weblogic 10.3.6
3. Installed Oracle Identity and Access Management 11g (11.1.2.0.0) And SOA 11.1.1.7.0
4. Run config.sh to create OIM,OAM and OAAM domains
5. Run setDomainEnv.sh from user_projects/domains//bin
After that I tried to Configure the DB Policy store before starting the Admin Server. But getting the same error. every time it get failed
I 've dropped schemas and Reinstall the WLS,IAM,SOA software again But got the same Error.
at least 20 times in the last 10 days I 've Dropped schema even created New DB and Reinstalled All the IAM Software But to No Avail

Create a script that can create entire schema with data when run
Hi,
I need to create a script that creates the entire schema on a database when the script is run. the need is that the script should be capable of creating all schema objects with grants and all, including the table data.
The same objective can be achived through export / import.But we don't want to deliver the dump files instead a script which will be executed on a database created with same database stucture of tablespaces etc.
I have serched the net but yet to achive the goal.
Is there any oracle utility / script file that can do this for me ?
Can Oracle import be used to create the same, the way it is used to create index File ?
Please suggest !!
RegardsYou should look at the package dbms_metadata to be able to extract all ddl to recreate a schema. To load the data, you could write scripts that will generate insert statements and spool these to a file (sql generating sql), or you could write scripts that generates a delimited file and use sql loader to load the data into the target system. There are lots of little gotchas in either of these 2 solutions. The biggest 2 right away. 1 - picking a delimiter, 2 - dealing with carriage returns in text data. SQL Developer is able to do some extraction, so before you go writing this stuff yourself, I would check it out to see if it does what you are looking for before you reinvent the wheel.

Best Approach to create Security / Authorization Schema for an APEX Apps
Hi,
I am planning to create a Security / Authorization Schema for an APEX Application.
Just want to know what is the best approach to create the security feature in APEX, so that it should be re-used in other APEXApplications too..
I am looking for following features...
1. users LOGIN and then user's name is stored in APEX_USER...
2. Based on the user, I want to restrict the Application on following levels.
- TABS
- TABS - Page1 (Report
- Page2 (Form)
- Page2 (Region1)
- Page2 (Region1, Button1)
- Page2 (Region1, Items,....)
AND so on.....basically depending on user....he will have access to certain TABS, Pages, Regions, Buttons, Items...
I know, we have to create the Authorization Schema for this and then attach these Authorization Schema to the different Level we want.
My Question is, what should be the TABLE structure to capture these info for each user...where we will say...this USER will have following access...AND then we create Authorization Schema from this table...
Also what should be the FRONT end, we should have to enter these detail...
SO, wondering, lot of people may already have implemented this feature....so if guys can provide the BEST Approach (re-usable for other APEX Application)....that will be really nice..
Thanks,
DeepakHi Raghu,
thanks for the detial info.
so that means..I should have 2 table...
master table (2 columns - username, password)
username password
user1 xxxx
user2 xxxx2nd table (2 columns - username, chq_disp_option)
- In this table, we don't have Y/N Flag you mentioned..
- If we have to enter all the regions/tabs/pages in the Applications here or just those regions/tabs/pages for which are conditionally diaplayed.
- so that means in all the Pages/Regions/tabs/items in the entire Application, we have to call the Conditionally display..
- suppose we have 3 tabs, 5 pages, 6 regions, 15 items..that means in this table we have to enter (3+5+6+15) = 29 records for each individual users..
username chq_disp_option
user1 re_region1
user1 re_region2
user1 tb_main
user1 Page1
user1 Page5
---- ---- - how you are defining unique name for Regions..i mean in static ID or the Title
- is the unique name for tab & item is same as the TAB_NAME (T_HOME) & Item Name (P1_ITEM1) or you are defining somewhere else.
Thanks,
Deepak -
Authorization Scheme problem using query
Greetings:
I have an application with 4 different roles in my application. Depending on the user role, the access to different pages within the application are filtered. We have 4 group types: admin, general, transactional and read_only; each, with descending levels of authorization.
The application utilizes a two-level tab navigation system in which I hide the tabs that the users are not supposed to see, depending on the level of authorization that they have. I have implemented three authorization schemes for three different types of access depending on the pages within my application. The only page without any auhorization is the login page.
The three created authorization schemes are as follows.
My first scheme (set as scheme type: exists SQL Query):
Select APP_USER_NAME, APP_GROUP_TYPE from APP_USERS
where
APP_USER_NAME = :APP_USER
AND
APP_GROUP_TYPE != 'READ_ONLY'
This one is supposed to negate access to the READ_ONLY group, but allow access to all other groups.
My Second scheme (set as scheme type: exists SQL Query):
Select APP_USER_NAME, APP_GROUP_TYPE from APP_USERS
where
APP_USER_NAME = :APP_USER
AND
(APP_GROUP_TYPE != 'READ_ONLY'
and
APP_GROUP_TYPE != 'transactional')
The second one, I have added the transactional group as to be explicitly negated access.
My Third scheme
Select APP_USER_NAME, APP_GROUP_TYPE from APP_USERS
where
APP_USER_NAME = :APP_USER
AND
(APP_GROUP_TYPE != 'READ_ONLY'
AND
APP_GROUP_TYPE != 'transactional'
AND
APP_GROUP_TYPE != 'general')
the last one, I have added the general group as to be explicitly negated access.
I am thinking that, logically, this would work, but the pages do not display properly. I am always getting the failed authorization page, even with my admin user. Is there something wrong with my methodology? Should I be white-listing instead of black-listing in my queries? Thanks for your support.I appreciate your help Jeff, you helped me a great deal, but not in the way you may think. In your link, there was a post that offered a solution with a simple query. There was one person that posted a query using (upper) to bring the username to uppercase so it can be properly compared to :APP_USER. Yes, the users were entered as lowercase, the logic was ok. I changed the query logic to a white list as to avoid possible users that may be able to authenticate into the application without a proper group configured.
Thanks for your support. Maybe this can help someone on the forums out. -
Parameters to authorization schemes
I apologize for the fact that this question is so so so like a number of others..
I want to build an application that allows for a half a dozen or so different roles and that easily allows roles to be added. An individual page or component may allow access to a subset of these roles. To allow any combination of roles to be specified would seem to require the creation of 64 authorization schemes. A number which doubles for every additional role created.
I appreciate that in practice I will only need to create authorization schemes for those combinations I actually use but this does nevertheless seem rather cumbersome. An authorization scheme can easily determine the user and the current page but can it determine the component that is being authorized? If it could I might be able to build a drive table and have a single authorization scheme that did a lookup. If only I could just pass an argument to the authorization scheme...
Any advice welcomeI took a somewhat different approach. I also needed to provide a menu of applications that a given person could access, and I needed to accomodate a number of existing authorization techniques already in use in my pre-APEX world. Most of these use Oracle Roles, but in some cases more complex, task specific PL/SQL functions.
I stepped outside of the APEX world and built a table of applications (that tie back into the apex application world), and each of my apex applications call the same authentication function:
begin
return apex_registry_maint.validate;
end;
Which really looks like:
function Validate
return boolean
is
app_id number;
uname varchar2(32);
app_page_id number;
begin
app_page_id := v('APP_PAGE_ID');
app_id := v('APP_ID');
if app_page_id = 101 then return true; end if;
uname := v('APP_USER');
return check_access(app_id, uname);
end Validate;
This essentially lets me call my authorization function with parameters such as the application id and page number, but still live "outside" of the APEX space.
The full package can be seen at:
http://www.rpi.edu/campus/rpi/simon/misc/Tables/SIMON_APEX.APEX_REGISTRY_MAINT.html
(I have 15 years of legacy applications I am moving into APEX, lots of history and inexperience with APEX are driving this approach. I am not claiming it to be a good approach, just one that works for me) -
Export Authorization schemes either in 4.0 or 4.1
Hi all,
I would like to export authorization schemes of an app. and import it in another env. I don't expect to create authorization schemes in env. like production. So, the required schemes are created in say for e.g. in dev and get exported just the schemes without being exported the whole app.
Is there anyway in either apex 4.0 or 4.1? If not, Is there any work around?
Thanks in advance
movvaHi,
You can export , but I have not managed import those to different app.
I get
These components were exported from a different application or from an application in a different workspace. The components cannot be installed in this application.Workaround is export whole app and import it to workspace where is app where you like copy authorization schemes.
Then in target app go create new authorization schema and select As a Copy of an Existing Authorization Scheme. Then select from witch app you copy schema.
When you have copy all needed drop source app.

Jari

Clone schema with current db objects and data.
Hi Cloud expert,
I need feature to clone existing schema and create new schema with schema as a service. I created profile that export schema with database objects and data. I created template that use the profile created. While provisioning the template I found all the database objects with template. Now I need a solution to clone the current schema with all the objects at current time. The way I tried contains all the objects that were exists while exporting the schema. I need the solution to clone schema so that it will contains all the objects and data right now.
While reading document I found snapclone but that is not the exactly the solution I need. I simply need to clone schema with latest db object and data with Self Service portal.
Thank You in advance.
Dilli R. MaharjanOne option is to run BACKUP/RESTORE, once you have restored you run:
SELECT 'ALTER TABLE ' + quotename(s.name) + '.' + quotename(o.name) +
' DISABLE TRIGGER ALL '
FROM sys.schemas s
JOIN sys.objects o ON o.schema_id = s.schema_id
WHERE o.type = 'U'
AND EXISTS (SELECT *
FROM sys.triggers tr
WHERE tr.parent_id = o.object_id)
Copy result and paste into a query window do to run. Next:
SELECT 'DELETE ' + quotename(s.name) + '.' + quotename(o.name)
FROM sys.schemas s
JOIN sys.objects o ON o.schema_id = s.schema_id
WHERE o.type = 'U'
Run this result until you don't get any more errors.
Run the first query again, but change DISABLE to ENABLE.
This is more long-winding than scripting, particularly if you have lots of data. But you know that you will not make any changes whatsoever to the schema.
The scripting in SSMS generally does it right, I believe, but some items are not scripted by default. If you run BACKUP/RESTORE, you know that you get a faithful copy.
Of course, the best way is to keep your code under version control and take the version control system as your ultimate truth.

Authorization scheme not working.
My requirement is I want to allow access only to few people for some pages, buttons.
I am using Authorization scheme with scheme Type as "Exists SQL Query"
Working Query
SELECT p.EMP_ID FROM people p where emp_alias=:APP_USER and p.EMP_alias = 'ABC'
Not Working query
SELECT p.EMP_ID FROM people p where emp_alias=:APP_USER AND p.EMP_alias in ('ABC','XYZX)
Error: ORA-00907: missing right parenthesis
ERR-1082 Error in executing authorization scheme code.
Can anyone say what am I missing.Thank you, adding braces and putting OR condition worked.
SELECT p.EMP_ID FROM people p WHERE emp_alias = :APP_USER AND (p.EMP_alias = 'ABC' OR p.EMP_alias = 'XYZX')
But not sure, how it is working some times and not working some times, if I have new lines, it doesnt work and if I have multiple conditions, it doesnt work.
This doesnt work..
SELECT p.EMP_ID FROM people p WHERE p.EMP_alias= :APP_USER and (emp_alias='ABC' or emp_alias='XYZ') and (p.EMP_ROLE='DBA' or p.EMP_ROLE ='DBAMGR') -
Authorization object with no authorization field
Hi Experts,
I have created authorization object with no field checking.
This is possible? Because i want to create this auth object for conversion only, and its not needed field checking.
Please advice.Hi
See this and do accordingly
In general different users will be given different authorizations based on their role in the orgn.
We create ROLES and assign the Authorization and TCODES for that role, so only that user can have access to those T Codes.
USe SUIM and SU21 T codes for this.
Much of the data in an R/3 system has to be protected so that unauthorized users cannot access it. Therefore the appropriate authorization is required before a user can carry out certain actions in the system. When you log on to the R/3 system, the system checks in the user master record to see which transactions you are authorized to use. An authorization check is implemented for every sensitive transaction.
If you wish to protect a transaction that you have programmed yourself, then you must implement an authorization check.
This means you have to allocate an authorization object in the definition of the transaction.
For example:
program an AUTHORITY-CHECK.
AUTHORITY-CHECK OBJECT <authorization object>
ID <authority field 1> FIELD <field value 1>.
ID <authority field 2> FIELD <field value 2>.
ID <authority-field n> FIELD <field value n>.
The OBJECT parameter specifies the authorization object.
The ID parameter specifies an authorization field (in the authorization object).
The FIELD parameter specifies a value for the authorization field.
The authorization object and its fields have to be suitable for the transaction. In most cases you will be able to use the existing authorization objects to protect your data. But new developments may require that you define new authorization objects and fields.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/52/67167f439b11d1896f0000e8322d00/content.htm
To ensure that a user has the appropriate authorizations when he or she performs an action, users are subject to authorization checks.
Authorization : An authorization enables you to perform a particular activity in the SAP System, based on a set of authorization object field values.
You program the authorization check using the ABAP statement AUTHORITY-CHECK.
AUTHORITY-CHECK OBJECT 'S_TRVL_BKS'
ID 'ACTVT' FIELD '02'
ID 'CUSTTYPE' FIELD 'B'.
IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.
MESSAGE E...
ENDIF.
'S_TRVL_BKS' is a auth. object
ID 'ACTVT' FIELD '02' in place 2 you can put 1,2, 3 for change create or display.
The AUTHORITY-CHECK checks whether a user has the appropriate authorization to execute a particular activity.
This Authorization concept is somewhat linked with BASIS people.
As a developer you may not have access to access to SU21 Transaction where you have to define, authorizations, Objects and for nthat object you assign fields and values. Another Tcode is PFCG where you can assign these authrization objects and TCodes for a profile and that profile in turn attached to a particular user.
Take the help of the basis Guy and create and use.

Unexpected problem with authorization scheme of type plsql function
Hi,
I have created one authorization scheme of type plsql function returning boolean. Authorization scheme is for pages only. p2_user_priviledge is a textbox on home page which extract privilege (list of pagenos) for login user from database. Home page has no authorization required. AUTHORIZATION SCHEME always returns false. I am not able to trace problem in my code. same code works fine for a textbox's default returning 'c'.
----- CODE FOR AUTHORIZATION SCHEME------------------------------------------------------------
declare
pageid varchar2(10);
privilege varchar2(300);
c number(3);
begin
pageid := ':P'||to_char(:app_page_id)||':' ; ---Pageno get stored in format *:P2:*
privilege := trim(:p2_user_priviledge); ++------Contain list of privilege like :P2:P13:P67:P23: etc+++ select instr(privilege,pageid) into c from dual;
if c>0 then
return true;
else
return false;
end if;
end;
One more problem is again related to authorization scheme.
I created one application and one authorization scheme (auth_aug) which worked finely. Then after some days i added 10 more pages to same application, But now autho_aug was always returning false for new pages. So i copied code from 'autho_aug' to new scheme 'autho_sept', & it worked for new pages. I don't understand if code is same for both scheme, why required to use two different schemes.
Now i have added few more pages to application, and facing problem mentioned earlier.
any solution for both the problems.....Hi,
Let me clear my problem once again.
-->Home page i.e. P2 does not use authorization, So it is displayed along with text item :p2_user_privilege.
-->Then user click on one of the links , Now page :P70: should get displayed.
P70 is using authorization scheme.
-->But :p2_user_priviledge value is not accessible at authorization scheme, I dont know why.
I could not find out where to create Application item , as suggested by you.
& not able to find Developer menu , session at home page as suggested earlier.
And one more question, my application at runtime display
X en us
at bottom
How to make it
USER: X Language: en us
Like in development environment.
Hope I have cleared my problem, waiting for reply.

Does Oracle not support element reference to other element with dot?
For instance, body -> body.content
