Create e-mail link within an image

I have an image that includes the contact e-mail address.  I'd like to make this an e-mail link.  It's situated in the corner of a larger image with other text, and would like to have just the address become the link, not the whole image.
I've tried a hotspot, with a link and then typed emailto:adress.  I thought I was on the right track, but when I preview it, it just pops up a new browser, but does not open up a new e-,mail.
I'd also like to create my menu bar from text within an image (I'm creating in Fireworks first then importing CSS & Images).
Would I then use the same method?
Thanks.

try "mailto:" instead of "emailto:"

  • Creating an email link within a Muse page?

I want to create an standalone (not within a contact form) email link in Muse. Do I simply highlight an email address within a text box and apply a hyperlink witht the corresponding email address ([email protected])? Or does it need to be a spearate element/text box to do so?
    Thanks, in advance.

    Hello Stephen,
You can just highlight the email address and put the email address in the hyperlink field. It will hyperlink the email address and when user will click on it, it will automatically open their default e-mail client with an email having the mentioned email id in the "To" filed.

  • Creating an Attachment Link Within a Form

I have created a filllable form and want to create a section where attachments can be added to the form, can I get some help on how to make this happen.  Thanks!

Unfortunately, Reader cannot be used to add file attachments unless the PDF in question has been given the appropriate usage rights. Unfortunately again, although Acrobat can be used to give some usage rights, this isn't one of them. Adobe does sell a server-based product named LiveCycle Reader Extensions than will give the file attachment right to PDFs.
Alternatively, you can use the third-party service provided by FormRouter:http://www.formrouter.com/pdf/readerextensions.htm
They will, for a fee, enable individual documents.

  • How do I create a dial link from a hotspot on an image in Dreamweaver CS5?

I understand how to create a link from text, or from an image, but I need to create a link within the image map so that clients on their cell phones can call by clicking on my chosen hotspot. Any suggestions?

Right, thanks. I've had to adapt it and create 2 more duplicate contact images, for the other small screens as the image maps are too large on the smaller screens. But I managed to get it to work how I want. Thank you.
But I can't figure out how to do the tel: link. I've tried so many variations. But when I update the website, and try it on my mobile phone (which by the way, is not an iPhone, it's just a Samsung Tocco Lite), the tel: links won't work, both on the images, and the raw text. My phone just keeps coming up with an error message, saying: "Invalid Phone Number".
    The text tel: links are: <div class="PhoneNumber"><a href="tel:+64-09-537-1458">09537 1458</a></div>
I've had to put the phone numbers in seperate div tags, that way, I can hide each div tag, according to the layout for the screen sizes.
    And the image tel: links are: <area shape="rect" coords="6,36,110,59" href="tel:+649537 1458" />
As you can see, both these tel: links are different, but both don't work.
Is there something I've done wrong to make the error message pop-up instead of dialing the number? Or is it the case of it being my mobile phone that doesn't support it. How can I correct it in each instance if it is the case, so that it will work on all forms of mobile phones?
Please note that I am in New Zealand, and the country code is 64. and 09 is the area code.
    Thanks.
Edit: It doesn't matter now. I've managed to figure it out, and it now works on my phone.

  • E-mail link in Flash CS4 problem...

First i'd like to greet all community.
I have problem with creating e-mail link in my Flash CS4 program. The problem is that when i create button i cant attach any actions to him. It was not a problem for me in flash 4 i was working before. The movie is in Action script 3.0. I will appreciate any sort of help.
    see you.
    Sebastian

use the code suggested by webqaflash and just add
    navigateToURL(new URLRequest("mailto:EMAILADDRESS?Subject=ANYSUBJECTTEXT&Body=ANYBODYTEXT"));
    in your call function.
Just a  suggestion but I would put all the actions in a code-behind file rather than within the actual Flash file which is how you did it back in the Flash 4 days. That way you only need to edit and update the AS file when you need to change your e-mail addresses.

  • Links in cycling images: AA example.

    Hello board,
I've learned how to use PS3 to have multiple links within an image (via image slicing) and get the image up on a website and link the "html and image" files up (it's a pain, but interesting stuff).  What I'd like to do, however, is have an animated GIF cycle through a couple of images and each image itself is a link.
    Example: http://www.aa.com/homePage.do
Several images/offers are cycled through and each image has it's own link.
I also have Image Ready on my computer if that helps.
Edit: In simple terms, what I'm trying to do is have each frame in an animated GIF be a link somewhere, and each frame-specific link to be there only
when its frame is having it's turn in the rotation. If such a thing is not possible, then this may be a good idea for future development of PS.

That being said, our topic is yet another reason to get Flash so I'll use it as leverage down the road.
The AA example does not use Flash. You don't even need Dreamweaver to include the javascript to accomplish this. A plain text editor can do.
For more info, check out a web design forum.
For ready-made javascripts, try this site: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex14/index.html
There's no need to travel down a road when you can do this today with tools you already have.

  • Problem Creating an Image Link within an html snippet?

    Hi,
For some reason I have been unable to link to an image on my Mac by using <img src within an html snippet.
I have uploaded the photo to my server and created a link with <img src "http://www.domain.com/image.jpg" />.
However, when I try linking to the image like this - <img src "Users:Documents:Photos:image.jpg" />, when I click apply on the html snippet all I get is a blue dot with a question mark and I have checked that the image is in my Documents and then Photos folder and it is. When I link to it with the server the photo shows.
Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong?
I would appreciate some help, as I have tried various combinations to link and nothing seems to be working except linking directly from my server and I don't really want to do this at the moment.
    Thanks

Thanks for that and I did use correct syntax in the html snippet - it was a typo here.
I did as you suggested and dragged the photo into the Safari browser, after placing the photo on the desktop and it gave me the file name and that showed as file:///Users/My username/Desktop/Image.jpg, so I tried this in my html snippet and did it as so:
It is still not working for some reason and when I click apply, the photo shows up as a blue square with a question mark in it, although I know the photo is there.
Why is this? I followed the path, yet when I link to the photo on the server with it works perfectly everytime.
    Thanks

  • Pasting images into Mail results in a hypertext link, not the image itslef?

    Hello
I'm posting on behalf of a friend. He tells me that when he copies an image (e.g., from within Safari) and pastes into the body of a Mail message, this results in a link not the image.
However, when I receive the message, I see the image in the body.
The question is, is there a way to have the image appear in the email message he's composing vs. a hyperlink?
N.B. when copying the image he is choosing "Copy Image" not "Copy Link"
    Thanks

He could just drag-and-drop the image from Safari to his desktop, then drag-and-drop it to the email (or use Add Attachment).  Or maybe he could just drag-and-drop it straight from Safari into a new email, without copy-and-pasting at all?

  • How to add links to different images within an animation in Photoshop CS4?

    Hey guys,
I am trying to create an animation with photoshop cs4, but I was wondering if there is a way for me to add a link to each image as the animation is looping, that people can click on the image that is appearing on the screan at that particular moment and take them exactly to the link, and so on with the rest of the images within the animation. Please Help!!! I have no experience with CS4 as you can see or any other for that matter, so I would really appreciate any information that you can give me. Or if it's easier in Flash... please tell me how!! Thank you soooo much!!!

Exactly as Zeno said. You'll either need Flash/ Flash Catalyst or do it all with JavaScript inside the web design application.

  • In FF 34.0.5 I use to be able to click on a link within an e-mail and the link would open in a new tab; it now opens in the same tab; how can i change it back?

I'm using FF 34.0.5 (I like it). I use to be able to right click on a link, within an e-mail, and the link would open in a new tab. Now when I click on the link it opens in the same tab replacing my e-mail.
Example - a friend sends me an e-mail containing a link to a web site he thinks I'd like. I click on the link and go to the web site and then go back to the e-mail tab and reply to him. Now, when clicking that link, my e-mail disappears and is replaced by the new site.
How can I fix this? When this happened once before I was told to change the 'value' for a specific 'preference name' through the about:config page.
Can anyone help jog my memory?
    Thanks!

Is this about clicking a link in an external program?
You can check this pref on the about:config page for external links.
    * browser.link.open_newwindow.override.external (-1)
If this pref has the default value -1 then browser.link.open_newwindow is used.
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.link.open_newwindow
    *1: current tab; 2:new window; 3:new tab;
You can open the <b>about:config</b> page via the location/address bar.
You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
