Create/Edit relationship tables in MDM Portal

Hello,
When we set the Relationships tab and all fields on the tab with 'Updatable' = true in the MDM Portal, the only option is to Delete a relationship in the Portal.  A user cannot create a new relationship in the Portal.
We are on version 7.0 in portal.
Is this a limitation in this version and does anyone know if this is corrected in a later new release?
thanks

Hmmmm.. as far as I remember the answer is no.
The way I do it is to drop an empty text box over the file name in the table and make this a hyperlink to the file.
Some people report that this doesn't work and use a shape with almost zero opacity. I think they have this problem when using internal rather than external links. If you are linking to files in a download folder on your server you will be using external links and the text box is a lot quicker to do.
The links on this page are done in this fashion....

    Hi MDM Gurus,
             Can anybody please let me know regarding Relationships table and how to work with that. I am aware of all the other MDM concepts.
    Regards

    Hi,
    Relationship tells how the records from main table and subtable are related to each other. We need to first create the entry in relationship table from MDM Console. MDM support two types of relationships:
    1. Parent/Child Relationship - Applicable for all possibilities of main and lookup table
    2. Sibling Relationship - Applicable only for Main table records

  • Edit offline table problem

    hi,
    I am trying to edit an offline table (from MS SQL SERVER) created with JDeveloper 10g 10.1.2 without success.
    Whatever the modification I try, I have always the error message "Columns of type smallint cannot have a size specified" or "Columns of type varchar cannot have a size specified" or "Columns of type int identity cannot have a size specified"
    Does anybody have an idea ?
    thanks
    phil

    Hi Phil,
    This is because in 10.1.2 Oracle validation checks are being run against the Table's columns.
    In 10.1.2 and 10.1.3 Preview Offline Tables were only supported against Oracle Databases.
    However in 10.1.3 Production our Foreign Database support has been greatly improved so that you will be able to import from SQL Server, Informix, MySQL, DB2 and SyBase and create/edit Offline Tables against these databases using the valid datatypes for that particular database.
    Hope that helps,

  • Create/Edit form in a Popup

    Hi,
    I have a master/detail table displayed on a page and I have two button for create and edit. Clicking on the buttons, I must create/edit master table in a popup page. Also in the popup, I must display the details as a tabular form and allow to create and edit the details tables(add row, delete row features).
    Do anybody have any samples or any links?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Assuming you are using 11g the built in popup features are covered here:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/web.1111/b31973/af_dialog.htm#ADFUI268
    You need to call the setCurrentRowWithKey method for an edit or the create/createInsert methof if creating a new record in the popup.
    To edit the popup select it in the structure pane and it will be focused on the editor page.

  • Creating a relationship between two tables  through configuration manager

    I've just created two tables in the underlying db, each with a primary key and established a primary key - foreign key relationship. I've also created a relationship through stellent and it shows up under the 'Relations' Tab.
    However, when I go to Information Fields > Field Info > Click on my Field > 'Edit' > Enable Option List and Configure > Use the view of one of the tables and click on Dependant Field , I don't see any Relationships defined. What could I have done wrong here?
    Thanks.

    ok...solved...followed metalink note 445363.1 for clarification on the right approach to creating Dependant Choice Lists (DCL).

  • Create a relationship between two existing tables

    When I create a new table the wizard exposes the ability to add a foreign key column. However when editing an existing table the only option I seem to have is to create a lookup table, which is a new table that is autogenerated. I find it hard to believe that it's impossible to create and manage relationships in APEX...but I've unable to find the access point if there is one.

    Hello,
    I'm not sure what version of APEX you are using as you don't say, but in my 2.2.0.00.32 installation, when I select a table using the Object Browser, select Constraints from the choices running along the top of the page, then click the Create button/link, the Foreign Key option is available in the Constraint Type drop-down list.
    Hope that helps a bit,
    Mark

  • Creating a relationship between one table and the PK in another

    Sorry the subject of this message is a bit vague. I'm not sure how to describe this problem in one sentence.
    So here's the issue: I've just created a new block on my form based on table2. Table2 contains t1_id which is the FK link to Table1.
    What I want is when one of the fields in Table2's block is changed and inserted, the t1_id is inserted in the applicable row. Essentially, I need :table2.t1_id to have the 'Copy From Item' property set at :table1.id
    I cannot seem to see where in designer this option is. I asked a friend and he said what I need to do is 'create a relationship between the two values in designer'. Huh? In the Table Definitions the FK is set for the two, so I'm not sure how to do this.
    Another problem, which I'm believing will be solved when this is, is that when the form loads, this new block, table2, is not automatically populated with the applicable values from the table.
    Thanks for any help. It's greatly appreciated!

    Do you mean that you want to create a Master-Detail Form using Designer?
    If yes, you need to define the entity usage from the Function Hierarchy Diagrammer, then attribute usage definition. Generate the module using Application Design Transformer. You need to define the Context so that master table's PK will be carried over to the detail table.

  • ADF Faces - How to create an editable rich table at runtime

    Hi,
    JDeveloper version - 11.1.1.4.0
    I have been trying to create an editable table (wherein the user can enter text into the input text boxes contained in the columns added at runtime). The values thus entered are to be captured in the backing bean for further processing.
    Below are my attempts to achieve this in various ways but without success.
    Attempt 1 : Created a Read-Only Dynamic table by dropping the view object instance from the Data Control. Here, the default being output text components, I used input text components and programatically make it updatable in the backing bean, which however, shows as an output text component.
    1) UI - .jspx file
    <af:table rows="#{bindings.TestViewObject1.rangeSize}"
                        fetchSize="#{bindings.TestViewObject1.rangeSize}"
                        emptyText="#{bindings.TestViewObject1.viewable ? 'No data to display.' : 'Access Denied.'}"
                        var="row" rowBandingInterval="0"
                        value="#{bindings.TestViewObject1.collectionModel}"
                        selectedRowKeys="#{bindings.TestViewObject1.collectionModel.selectedRow}"
                        selectionListener="#{bindings.TestViewObject1.collectionModel.makeCurrent}"
                        rowSelection="single"
                        id="t1"
                        partialTriggers="::cb1 ::cb2"
                        binding="#{TestDynamicTable.t1}">
                <af:forEach items="#{TestDynamicTable.attributeDefns}"
                            var="def">
                  <af:column headerText="#{def.name}"
                             sortable="true" sortProperty="#{def.name}" id="c1">
                    <af:inputText value="#{row[def.name]}" id="it1"
                                  label="Label 1"
                                  autoSubmit="true" />
                  </af:column>
                </af:forEach>
              </af:table>2) Backing bean -
        public void listenMeForAction(ActionEvent ae) {
           //adding attribute dynamically
          ViewAttributeDefImpl def = (ViewAttributeDefImpl)vo.addDynamicAttribute("testDynamicAttr"+columnCount);
          def.setUpdateableFlag(def.UPDATEABLE);

         def.setProperty(def.ATTRIBUTE_DISPLAY_HINT_DISPLAY, def.HINT_NAME_UPDATEABLE);
         columnCount ++ ;
         AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addPartialTarget(this.t1);
    Attempt 2 : Created a ADF table by dropping the view object instance from the Data Control. Here, the columns and its cells are added programatically in the backing bean. However
    1) UI - .jspx file
    <af:table value="#{bindings.Test5ViewObj1.collectionModel}" var="row"
                        rows="#{bindings.Test5ViewObj1.rangeSize}"
                        emptyText="#{bindings.Test5ViewObj1.viewable ? 'No data to display.' : 'Access Denied.'}"
                        fetchSize="#{bindings.Test5ViewObj1.rangeSize}"
                        rowBandingInterval="0"
                        id="richDynamicTable"
                        binding="#{TestDynamicTable.richDynamicTable}">
    </af:table>2) Backing bean - When the buildRichTable method is invoked from the constructor, the table shows the input text boxes as required, but the entered values is not getting retrieved (). Tried adding a valuchangelistener to the added cell, but this does not fire as well.
    Below code however, creates a new instance of RichTable. Also, if an overloaded method is invoked on an ActionEvent, the columns added are not displayed.

      }Not sure what I must be missing. May be I need to add bindings to the text boxes added but cant figure how to go about it. I found some posts on dynamically adding columns pointing to displaying contained data. Any help would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks for your time.

    Hi,
    Not too sure if I am heading the right way, but tried adding the bindings and value expression at runtime for the added columns. The values added at the screen is again found null at the VO and RichInputText child / cell. The updated method is as below -
          buildRichTable() {
          //adding binding for the added cell
          DCBindingContainer bc = (DCBindingContainer)BindingContext.getCurrent().getCurrentBindingsEntry();
          if(bc.findCtrlBinding("ColTest"+i) == null) {
              bc.addControlBinding("ColTest"+i, new JUCtrlAttrsBinding(null,
                                                     bc.findIteratorBinding("Test5ViewObj1Iterator"),
                                                         new String[]{"ColTest"+i}));
          //the expression to be set in value attribute for richInputText component
          String theExpression = "#{row.bindings."+"ColTest"+i+".inputValue}";
          //setting the expression
          richDynamicCell.setValueExpression("ColTest"+i, getValueExpression(theExpression));
          richDynamicCell.setAutoSubmit(true);
          richDynamicCol.getChildCount();
          richDynamicCol.getChildren().add(richDynamicCell);
        dynamicVO.addDynamicAttribute("ColTest"+i);
        dynamicVO.insertRow(dynamicVO.createRow());
        dynamicVO.getRowCount();
        AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addPartialTarget(this.getRichDynamicTable());
        AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addPartialTarget(this.getRichDynamicCol());
        AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addPartialTarget(this.getRichDynamicCell());
       buildTable = false;
       this.setDynamicVO(dynamicVO);
      private ValueExpression getValueExpression(String theExpression) {
       FacesContext fc = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
       Application app = fc.getApplication();
       ExpressionFactory elFactory = app.getExpressionFactory();
       ELContext elContext = fc.getELContext();
       return elFactory.createValueExpression(elContext, theExpression, Object.class);
      }It would be great help to have any leads.

  • How To create Taxonomy Tables in MDM

    Hi all,
    I am new to MDM and want to know how to create Taxonomy Tables in MDM data manager for the various available categories and attributes.
    Regards,
    Gavin.

    Hi Gavin,
    Here's a solution.
    1. Create a calculated field of type boolean - you can name it On-Site or something similar.
    2. Enter the following as the calculation expression
    IF(HAS_ANY(COUNTRY_FIELD_NAME, "country 1", "country 2", "country n"), TRUE, FALSE) - where country 1...country n are the countries that are on considered On-Site.
    All Vendors from countries you have listed in the expression will have the value TRUE for the field On-Site.  All other Vendors will have the value False.  This way you can separate the 2 groups of Vendors by searching on the field On-Site.
    Hope this helps,
    Richard

  • Issue creating qualified tables in MDM 5.5 SP04 Console

    Try the following:
    1) Make sure you are using SP04 Patch 1 (Build 5.5.33.13)
    2) Unarchieve one of the supplied business content repositories (Eg. Customer, Material, etc).
    3) Create a flat lookup table
    4) Create a qualified table with only one field: Field type lookup flat referencing the flat lookup table created in step 3, non-qualifier, display field.
    5) Create a new field in main table, type qualified multi-value, referencing the qualified table created in step 4.
    6) Load the repository
    7) Login to repository with data manager
    8) Create 1 entry in lookup table created in step 3
    9) Create 1 entry in main table, also creating 1 sub-entry in qualified table, save the record with SHIFT-ENTER
    10) Make sure the record was saved, including qualified table entry
    11) Close data manager
    12) Open data manager again
    13) Select your record and try to go in to the qualified sub-entry
    In my case this produces data manager to crash.
    This does not happen for qualified tables created in SP03 and updated to SP04, only for tables created directly in the SP04 console.
    Please let me know if everybody is having the same problem.

    Hi, Jorge,
    I have MDM5.5 SP4 P1 HF1 and followed your steps (except in step 4 (THANK YOU for numbering them), I have more than one field.) At step 13, I selected my record and to my amazement the record was there but my qualified table data was gone. And I then performed your step 14, and opened the qualified lookup table, and again to my amazement the console crashed.
    This definitely appears to be a bug and you should report it. I will also see if I can ask around for other solutions.

  • How to map lookup main table field in another main table using MDM 7.1?

    We created a new SAP MDM 7.1 repository with multiple main tables.  The first main table is called ProductMaster table which contains Products information.  The ProductCode is the primary key and the only display field for the table during data loading process. The second main table is ProductByRegion table which has a main table lookup field ProductCode and a RegionId field.  These two fields (ProductCode and RegionId) combine as the PK for this main table.  Both main tables have key mapping enabled.
    I was able to load ProductMaster table using Import Manager.  But Iu2019m having trouble to load data into ProductByRegion table using MDM Import Manager.  Although I have met all the 5 requirements below (excerpted from MDM Import Manager Reference Guide P.222), the ProductCode wonu2019t show up on the destination value pane.  If I mapped all productCode to NULL field, ProductCode wonu2019t load.  If I u2018Addu2019 all ProductCode to Destination Value pane, the Import Manager added duplicated rows to Product Master table while only loading 1 record to ProductByRegion table.  I canu2019t get ProductCode show up in Matching Destination Field list.  When I checked ProductMaster records in MDM Data Manager, I right-clicked on one of records, chose Edit Key Mappings, it didnu2019t show anything.  However, if I right-clicked on one of those duplicated rows, Edit Key Mapping shows remote system and key correctly.
    Where did I do wrong?  How can I fix the problem?
    Thank you for help in advance.
    From: SAP MDM Import Manager Reference Guide:
    Mapping to Main Table Lookup Destination Fields
    Import Manager handles main table lookup fields (Lookup [Main])
    differently than other MDM lookup fields. Specifically, Import Manager
    does not display the complete set of display field values of the records
    of the underlying lookup table. Instead, the values it displays for a main
    table lookup field are limited by both the key mappings for the lookup
    table and the values in the source file.
    Also, Import Manager does not automatically display the values of a
    Lookup [Main] destination field in the Destination Values grid when you
    select the field in the Destination Fields grid. Instead, for a main table
    lookup field value to appear in the Destination Values grid, all of the
    following conditions must be met:
    u2022 The lookup table must have key mapping enabled
    u2022 The lookup field must be mapped to a source field
    u2022 The source field must contain key values for the lookup table
    u2022 The destination value must have a key on the current remote system
    u2022 The destination valueu2019s key must match a source field value
    NOTE ►► The current remote system is the remote system that was
    selected in Import Manageru2019s Connect to Source dialog (see
    u201CConnecting to a Remote Systemu201D on page 416 for more information).

    Hi Michael,
    Thank you very much for your response.  I'm new to SAP MDM, I need some clarification and help regarding your solution.
    I did use two maps to load ProductMaster and ProductByRegion separately.  Here were my steps:
    1. create main table ProductMaster with key mapping enabled at the table level and set ProductCode as unique and writable once (primary key).
    2. create a map to load ProductMaster record from a staging table located an oracle database.  But Key mapping didn't show anything when I looked at them using Data Manager.
    3. create main table ProductByRegion with a lookup field looking at ProductMaster table.  This field and RegionId combines as a unique field for ProductByRegion table.
    4. create a map to load ProductByRegion table.  But ProductCode records only shows on the source pane not destination pane and can't be mapped properly.
    My questions:
    1. How can I "Ensure that you add key mapping info for all ProductMaster records" besides enabling Key Mapping on the table level?
    2. How can I define a concatenation of ProductCode and RegionId as a REMOTE KEY"?
    Thanks a lot for your help!
    Vicky
