CREATE file, SAVE a copy on local mechine, UPLOAD a copy to remote server

Hi all,
I have a question to ask here, i am developing a pure java app (client/server) which hopefully can
1) client > create a file (abc.txt for e.g) save a copy in local mechine,
2) upload the file to remote server that currently connected (consider store in server?)
3) than remove the copy in local mechine
-OR-
1) create a document with JTextPane, when click on "Save" button,
2) the file will upload ( through ftp and created abc.txt in remote server)
Is this possible with java application?

Thanks,
but do you have any idea,
how these things can happend...
perhaps i can get some concept from you...about the program design and how the flow of the program..that could make file tranfer...to remote server.

  • Access to local DataSource tries to connect to remote server after ejb call to remote server

    I've run into a problem with code that worked fine under WebLogic 6.1 SP4, but I'm having difficulty migrating it to WebLogic 8.1 SP2.
              I have two weblogic instances running in separate domains (InstanceA and InstanceB). The two domains have the same crentential configured to setup the trust relationship.
              InstanceA runs on my local machine. It contains Stateless Session Beans StatelessSessionBeanA1, StatelessSessionBeanA2, and DataSourceA1
              InstanceB runs on a different machine. It contains StatelessSessionBeanB1.
              A function A1Func1 in StatelessSessionBeanA1
              1) creates an initial context to connect to InstanceB
              2) calls a method B1Func1 on StatelessSessionBeanB1
              3) closes that context to InstanceB
              4) Calls a method A2Func1 on StatelessSessionBeanA2
              5) manipulates several entity beans
              6) returns
              A1Func1, A2Func1, B1Func1 have the "Required" transaction attribute set.
              Steps 1,2,3 work fine, but on step 4, when A2Func1 attempts to get a Connection from the DataSourceA1, it gets an exception:
              java.sql.SQLException: Could not get remote server connection url = t3://(IP/port of InstanceB)
              at weblogic.jdbc.jts.Driver.createRemoteConnection(Driver.java:305)
              at weblogic.jdbc.jts.Driver.connect(Driver.java:157)
              at weblogic.jdbc.common.internal.RmiDataSource.getConnection(RmiDataSource.java:305)
              ... enters my application code
              A2Func1 works fine elsewhere, so on a hunch, I tried making A2Func1 have the "RequiresNew" transaction attribute. This causes steps 1,2,3,4 to work, but in step 5, when the entity beans attempt to get a connection from DataSourceA1, it runs into the same exception
              java.sql.SQLException: Could not get remote server connection url = t3://(IP/port of InstanceB)

              at weblogic.ejb20.cmp.rdbms.RDBMSPersistenceManager.getConnection(RDBMSPersistenceManager.java:2247)
              Any ideas why calling out to StatelessSessionBeanB1 would cause things inside the same transaction to try to get their datasource from InstanceB? Again, this code worked fine under WebLogic 6.1
              And ideas would be appreciated.
              Thanks,
              --Andy

              As a follow up, no solution, but a workaround - we changed the transaction setting
              on B1Func1 (which was a read type method) on InstanceB's StatelessSessionBeanB1
              to NotSupported, and everything started working again.

  • Why won't my combined file save as a pdf to my dropbox?

    I just signed up, combined two pdf's and it will not save as a pdf when i save to my dropbox, it won't even open.

    Hi Dawn,
    If you combine the files and save them to your local drive first, then copy to your Dropbox, does that work?

  • "Unable Able To Create File" error message and Disc Scan prob

    Player is a 60GB zen Extra with 24.2GB free space and 5,680 files of MP3, WAV and WMA.
    Unable to transfer any files from MediaSource to the player. Message is "Unable to create file, restart player..". I can, however, copy files off the player into MediaSource successfully. The player also plays O.K. Just can't copy any more files to it.
    Attempts to resolve the problem have been to try to copy different files, try another computer, try another USB cable, do a Disc Scan, update the driver and O/S to the current versions. None of these have resolved the problem. I can, however, delete a file from the player and then copy that same file back to the player.
    What is more perplexing is that the first two times I did a Disc Scan the player stopped at 97%. The player just cycled down and didn't complete the scan. I did a couple more disc scans and the player then froze at 95%. I tried a few more times and now the player freezes at 94%.
    I have run the disc scan previously when the player has froze and the disc scan has always completed to 00% and resolved whatever the problem was at the time.
    I am hesitant to format the disc and not be able to add anything back to the player. 5,680 files to play is better than 0.
    Any clues? Oh, and I am out of warranty range as usual.
    Thanks

    Thank You for the feedback. The problems appears to have surfaced after I transferred 350+ mp3 files in one session from the player to My PC Library in MediaSource. The player, however, did not seem particulary warm or have strange noises eminating from it during or after the transfer so I don't know if this is the cause of the problems or not. I was able to transfer mp3 files to the player sporadically after a few disc scans, reboots and rebuilds, but as noted in my initial post the problems have worsened.
    Is a 350+ file transfer a bit too much for the player to handle in one session, or does this lend itself to the possibility of damaging (frying) part of the disc? If so, maybe a precautionary advise to other users contemplating large single session file transfers may be beneficial in preventing player damage and owner frustration.
    I like my Nomad Zen Extra and if the disc is damaged I will purchase another in time. I am a bit bummed at the current state of the player. Guess I'll format the disc and hope for the best.

    i need answers not more questions...You are unlikely to find anyone here on these Java developer forums that know about
    the particular Java application you have that you call a "runescape private server".
    If I were you I would look for help where you downloaded your "runescape private server"
    maybe they have some installation and troubleshooting guidelines?

  • HTML files uploading to remote server, not reflected on website.

    After minimal adjustments to an HTML file, I upload it to the remote server. The local and remote files reflect this in the "modified" line, both mirroring the same exact time. However, when I go to the actual site, the changes don't appear.
    Now, when I update the html file, say cv.html, it also makes the same changes to 2.html. When I click on the link on the website, it appears at 2.html. Somehow cv.html and 2.html are linked to each other. (I guess to keep the overall web address smaller)?
    I just took on this website to manage and I've already hit a million roadblocks trying to get it started on my end, so anyone that can solve this I would be SO grateful!

    Somehow cv.html and 2.html are linked to each other.
    Could be CV is being pulled into a framed parent page called 2.html.  Or maybe your previous web developer used server-side includes to populate page 2 with content from other site files. It's anybody's guess what may be going on until you provide us with more detailed information. A URL is preferred.  Copy & pasted code is a 2nd option but don't use e-mail, it won't come through to the web forum.

  • Write records to a Flat file & Ftp to a remote server

    I know this would be a basic question for most of the ppl in this forum, but I am stuck in here.
    There is a "Orders" table, and when new orders are made , I need to build a file with relevant information(extracted from tables) and FTP to a remote server.There should be a SQL job that would run for every 30 mins to see if there are any new orders made , and if so, Write them to a file and FTP back to a remote server.
    The orders that were written to a file previously shouldn't appear when new files are created.
    How can this be done..?
    Thanks in advance..

    You'd need 3 basic components here
    1) Something to identify new orders
    2) Something to write whatever data you want to a flat file
    3) Something to FTP that file
    #2 is going to be the UTL_FILE package
    #3 is going to require a third-party PL/SQL (or Java) FTP library. If you do a Google search on UTL_FTP, you'll find a few such PL/SQL packages or you can download an appropriate Java class and load that into the database.
    #1 can be as simple as a Status column that gets set to NEW initially and PROCESSED when the file is generated. Or it could get a lot more complicated with something like Streams capturing changes to the table and sending those change records to a separate consumer process that would then generate the file and FTP it.

  • Local Project Connecting to Remote Server

    I am relatively new to Flash Remoting, and completely new to Flex. We have got the turnkey BlazeDS server running fine, and all the sample applications are running correctly.
    What I am attempting to do now is to pull data from our remote server so that I can develop on the local box, but tie into the remote server. I have added a wide open crossdomain.xml policy that should not prevent access. I'm guessing that my error is deeper than that, as I'm not even sure it's hitting the server.
    My error is: [RPC Fault faultString="[MessagingError message='Destination 'http://ec2-75-101-212-220.compute-1.amazonaws.com:8400/product' either does not exist or the destination has no channels defined (and the application does not define any default channels.)']" faultCode="InvokeFailed" faultDetail="Couldn't establish a connection to 'http://ec2-75-101-212-220.compute-1.amazonaws.com:8400/product'"]
    Any type of guidance into setting up a local to remote environment would be greatly appreciated, I have been searching everywhere, but all examples I can find involve developing with BlazeDS running directly on the development platform.

  • ACR Raw images wont copy to Jpeg or Tiff; as it fails with "Cannot Create File"

    Requesting immediate help if anyone available currently
    I've been using Photoshop CS6 for several years, never a problem at all. As soon as I bought Creative Cloud, I see many issues that cannot be resolved or are recurring.
    Again today as I go to copy files (images) from Adobe Camera Raw, to say a Tiff or a Jpeg, it appears to begin to copy as normal, then suddenly a box appears with all my copying
    file name/numbers, and it begins to eliminate one by one "Cannot Create File", failing the entire process to copy. I have never seen this until I began using Creative Cloud about a
    month ago.
    Can anyone help this Saturday evening as i am trying to complete a large project of images for others who expect them soon.?
    Thank you and I look forward to any advice soon,

    Hi Rick
    Thanks for clarifying that. Yes, that term was my mistake, as I meant to write 'Save As"
    Another forum respondent just replied also, and he states as so many others do, that they do not use
    the Adobe Camera Raw app formerly with CS6, as they instead use Lightroom, so he apologized that he
    was not familiar with ACR but that I might have an old CS6 plug-in running that may not be completely
    compatible with the new Creative Cloud. I am not sure if this is the problem.
    What I would find as not really likely, is that the Creative Cloud engineers would go through all the trouble
    to redesign from the old CS6, then even assist us over the phone to help install it, but in oversight,
    leave us without a proper update to properly run Adobe Camera Raw. I also have never really understood the advantage of Lightroom. I'm sure that many must enjoy its efficiency, as I hear wedding photographers like it for huge batch processing of adjusting many images in synchronicity all at once. I would say that I do the same with ACR accessing it through Bridge, and I like ACR's quick and simple access for simple image adjustments and then say a small batch all synchronized, then finally to "Save As" for all selected to a final output as Tiff or Jpeg.
    As an astronomer that has just started learning to use Registax for night sky images, we also like the ACR adjustments and then to "Save As" eg. all Jpeg or all Tiff, to then photo-stitch large landscape and night sky panoramas with Microsoft ICE photo-stitching.
    Sorry for the long description here, but I hope to relate the total idea of what I am doing for the past years. I'll even attach an example >
    Thanks for your possible solution to my problem in "Saving As" in ACR,

  • How do you create a save as default folder for MP3 files used Captivate text to audio voices files?

    How do you create a save as default folder for MP3 files used Captivate text to audio voices files?

    Hi Ed
    Thank you for contacting me, however I already know how to save text to
    audio files via timeline using the Export feature.
    So my question was not entirely clear and I apologize for that.  To explain
    further, whenever I save a text to audio file, captivate takes me to a
    default save as folder where I then have browse back to my production
    folder where I am keeping all my Txt to Aud files.  This is very tedious
    process when you have alot of files to save.  So my question was is there a
    way to configure captivate so I can make my production folder the default
    file for whenever I save a Txt to Audio file through Export feature that
    the system automatically takes me to that production folder, and I am
    spared the long tedious process of saving the file manually to the
    prodcution folder I want.
    I have copy the pathway to the production folder in the URL filed in the
    Save As dialoge box and that workaround as cut the work down but I still
    have to paste that URL field to point the file to the right folder. So it
    would be nice if I could do everything automatically.  Microsoft makes this
    capability in their MS Office applications, so I was thinking Adobe might
    do the same thing.  Your help with this would be appreicated,

  • How to create and save a file in flex web application ?

    Hi,
          I want to create and save a file form flex web application. Is it possible ?
    I have done some googling and found that its only possible through file referece, which needs some serverside implementation be called.
    Is it not possible with file reference to create and save file directly ?
    Can any one suggest how to over come this.
    Thanks in advance.

    Alex,
    code written with the Flex Builder 3 libraries will certainly run in Flash Player 10. However, what you need is not so much the capabilities of FP10 but the library functionalities of the Flex 4 package. And I think that Flex 4 code will only run in FP10 and not 9 (but haven't tested this as at work we have not yet been permitted to upgrade, so there is not a lot of point going for Flex 4!).

  • File Name error when creating file in Solaris C locale

    Background Info:
    1.In Java, we can use new File(filename) to create a new file. The filename there is a string denoting the name of the new file.
    2.As mentioned in bug4409965, "The 'C' locale in a 7-bit ASCII locale, the 8bit characters enteredn are not read in properly probably because in that locale, the input byte stream is expected to contain only 7bit characters, anything else is 'garbage'".
    My problem is:
    when I tried to construct a filename containing non-ASCII characters in the Solaris C locale, Java works quite different from C language.
    To be specify, follwing c code works quite well in C locale:
    char * temstring = "\0xd6\0xd0";
    FILE* fd = fopen(temstring, "w+");
    fprint(fd, "test");
    fclose(fd);
    Although the created file can't be viewed in C locale, the filename shows quite well in other suppoted locale , which means the filename doesn't get modified.
    While in Java, the following code
    File f = new File("\0xd6\0xd0");
    fos.println("test");
    try {
    f.createNewFile();
    } catch (IOException e)
    System.err.println(e.toString());
    will generate the file in C locale as ???? as garbage file name. Even in the proper locale, the filename can't be read correctly.
    I doubt the JVM in Solaris (file unixfilesystem.c) has modified the input filename and made the filename unreadable.
    I just wonder if there is some workaround to solve this problem, which means I can correctly generate the filename using Java just as what the C code has done: create the file just as what I denote instead of modifing the filename.
    Thanks

    Hello:
    Any luck with this problem?
    I am facing the same problem and was wondering if you had found a solution....
    Thanks
