Create references to user_constraints or other applicable table...

Hi ,
Is it possible to create a reference(foreign key) to the constraint_name column of user_constraints object or to other table of sys/system which keeps the constraint names created per user...????
I use Db 10g.
Thanks,
Simon

No.
To create a referential constraint the column must be unique and guaranteed unique by virtue of a primary key or unique constraint.
You can not do this with the Oracle data dictionary.

  • How to create reference table in se11

    hi experts
    how to create reference table in se11.
    regards
    subhasis.

    You must specify a reference table for fields containing quantities (<b>data type QUAN) or currency amounts (data type CURR).</b>
    This reference table must contain a field with the format for the <b>currency key (data type CUKY) or unit of measure (data type UNIT).</b> This field is called the reference field of the output field. The reference field can also reside in the table itself.
    A field is only assigned to the reference field at program runtime. For example, if a field is filled with currency amounts, the corresponding currency is determined from the assigned reference field, that is the value entered in this field at the moment defines the currency
    <b>example :</b>
    table <b>T1
    FIELD1   FIELD2(CURR)      FIELD3 .</b>
    table  <b>T2
    FEILD4   FIELD5(CUKY)   FIELD6  </b>  ...
    Then
    <b>T1-FIELD2 (CURR) -> T2-FIELD5(CUKY)</b>
    so  ....<b> T2</b>   table is called  <b>Refference table</b>   and   <b>T2-FIELD5</b>  is called   <b>Reffernce Field</b> .
    T1-<b>FIELD2</b>  = <b> 1,50,0000</b>.
    T2-<b>FIELD5</b>  = <b>INR</b> .
    the  amount  is  always  depend  on the some type of Currency  ,so  that the  Amount  should  always  <b>reffernce to an amount type</b> .
    reward  points if it is usefull ...

  • Unable to choose foreign key when creating reference partition

    Hello
    I have 2 foreign keys on a table. I am trying to choose the 2nd foreign key when creating a reference partition. I am unable to select the required foreign key.
    The model has Table A -> Table B -> Table C. Table A has a list partition. Table B is the child of Table A. I created a reference partition on Table B. Table C is child of Table B. There are 2 FKs on table C. I am unable to choose the required FK to create reference partition on table C.
    SQL Developer version - 3.0.0.665
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
    The FK that can be selected is normally the oldest FK that was created for the Table.
    So one option would be to delete and then recreate the FK that is selectable. This process may need to be repeated if there are several FKs that are "older" than the one you wish to use for Reference Partitioning.

  • Need help in creating a page that populates 3 related tables

    Hi All,
    I am pretty new to Oracle and have been trying to use the wizards in HTML_DB to create one page that will populate three tables. I have thus far have NOT been able to find my solutions. I do not know enough experience in SQL/PL_SQL to create the code on my own.
    Here is my dilemma. I have three tables:
    con (for contacts) - with regular contact info = l_name, f_name, phone...
    pro (for different programs) - with different program info = pro_name, priority..
    procon (Contact/program) - that joins the two together with initial, follow-up and close date fields.
    I created a composite primary key in the procon table that consists of the two pk's of the other two tables (using fk relationships).
    I want to be able to use one page in HTML_DB to enter in the data which will populate all three tables. Is there a way to do this in PL/SQL?
    * Also: Is there a book out there that you can recommend that really teaches SQL/PL_SQL?
    I would really, really, REALLY appreciate the help!!!!!
    Thanks,
    d.

    This isn't as bad as you think. I would create one procedure in a package and pass the parameters to the package via htmldb
    procedure insval(in_a in number, in_b in number, in_c in number)
      begin
       insert into tablea(cola)
        values(in_a);
      insert into tableb(colb)
       values(in_b);
      insert into tablec(colc)
       values(in_c);
      end;and then you call it from htmldb using a process
    schema.package.insval(:p1_a,:p1_b,:p1_c);That's ultra-simplified, but will get the job done.

  • Creating a datasource that sits on a table

    Hello All,
    I have to create a datasource that sits on a table and reads certain fields. I have found the relevant table via the data browser "RSPCLOGCHAIN". I am now in transaction sbiw - please advise further.
    Thank you and kind regards,
    Keith

    Hi Keith,
    The steps would be as follows:
    1. Goto to RSO2.
    2. Create a datasource with a technical name and assign it to a Application Component.
    3. Choose the Extraction from view section and enter you table name.
    4. Save it.
    5. It would list all the fields of that table. You can hide the ones that you do not want. Save again.
    Bye

  • Is it possible to reference the name of the current table in a formula?

    Hi,
    I am wanting to be able to reference the name of the same table that I am entering a formula into, i.e.:
    =SUMIFS(Net,Event,"CURRENT TABLE NAME HERE",Category,"Publicity")
    Is this possible?
    Thanks,
    Nick

    AppleScript can access the current table name, so it if you are doing a lot of formula entry in different tables you could click once in a table and have a short script insert the formula for you.  Here's a simple example:
    Say you have a data table like this:
    Event
    Category
    Net
    Event 1
    Publicity
    10
    Event 2
    Celebration
    20
    Event 1
    Supplies
    5
    Event 1
    Salaries
    20
    Event 3
    Celebration
    25
    Event 1
    Publicity
    20
    Event 2
    Publicity
    11
    Event 1
    Accounting
    20
    And (important) you have 'Use Header Names as Labels' turned on in Numbers > Preferences.
    You caninsert this formula:
    =SUMIFS(Net,Event,"Event 1",Category,"Publicity")
    ... into a table named Event 1 that looks like this:
    Cat
    Amount
    Publicity
    30
    ...with a script like this:
    -- NB:  the \ "escape" the quotation marks so AppleScript takes them literally
    tell application "Numbers"
      set t to document 1's active sheet's first table whose selection range's class is range
      set c to t's selection range's first cell
      set c's value to "=SUMIFS(Net,Event," & "\"" & t's name & "\"" & ",Category,\"Publicity\")"
    end tell
    The script automatically inserts the name of the table you have clicked in.
    (To use the script just copy and paste into Script Editor, click once in the cell where you want the formula (B2 in the example) and click the 'Run' triangle button in Script Editor.)

  • How do I Create a Tabular Form for an Intersection Table

    Situation
    There are three tables involved (PROJECT, STAFF, TASK)
    PROJECT(PROJECT_ID, PROJECT_NAME)
    STAFF(STAFF_ID, STAFF_NAME)
    TASK(PROJECT_ID, STAFF_ID, HOURS)
    There is a many to many relationship between PROJECT and STAFF. The intersection table is TASK.
    Issue
    I would like to create a tabular form for the TASK table. I would like to be able to click on a button (Add Row) to add a row to the existing tabular form. The row will have a LOV for the PROJECT_ID (showing PROJECT_NAME) and one for the STAFF_ID (showing STAFF_NAME) and a free form text field for the hours.
    I've tried a bunch of different ways but am unable to acheive this functionality. I must be doing something wrong. This sort of thing is trivial.
    Any guidance/suggestions are greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Adding a new surrogate key column to an existing table is not that big a deal.
    alter table t add (pk int primary key);
    create a before-insert row-level trigger to populate the key;Other than that, you are out of luck w.r.t the wizards. Yes, you can define a 2nd PK column in the wizard, but then the 2 PK columns becomes read-only (but you want to update them).
    You can write your own tabular form using htmldb_item APIs and your own after submit processes to process the updates. See the manual Tabular Form Howto in the documentation.
    Thanks

  • WHERE clause creating a join for two or more tables

    The CS3 Dreamweaver book says that the WHERE clause can
    create a join for two or more tables. The join was created, but the
    data is repeating. I have searched the web and this forum and have
    not found the answer.
    My Master page filters the recordset by Style No and when a
    customer clicks on a particular style, it sends him to the Detail
    page. All the records are showing from all tables on the detail
    page from the Dynamic List, except they are showing multiple times
    (ex. Size table has 4 sizes and Color table has 2 colors - my Size
    Drop Down list is showing 8 options and my Color Drop Down List is
    showing 8 options) I have a Master Page with a recordset pointing
    to a Detail Page using the same recordset.
    Master page works perfectly.
    Master Recordset SQL:
    SELECT products.itemID, products.category, products.styleno,
    products.name, products.description, products.ourprice,
    products.imageTH, products.image, coloroption.color,
    sizeoption.size
    FROM products, coloroption, sizeoption
    WHERE category = 'chefcoats' AND
    products.styleno=sizeoption.styleno AND
    products.styleno=coloroption.styleno
    GROUP BY products.styleno
    ORDER BY styleno ASC
    The Detail Recordset:
    SELECT products.itemID, products.category, products.styleno,
    products.name, products.description, products.ourprice,
    products.imageTH, products.image, sizeoption.size,
    coloroption.color
    FROM products, sizeoption, coloroption
    WHERE itemID=colname AND products.styleno=sizeoption.styleno
    AND products.styleno=coloroption.styleno
    I tried using the GROUP BY on the detail page, but then it
    only showed one size and color from the dynamic drop down list. I
    tried changing the field name "styleno" in the other tables to be
    unique, however, I was using the table identifer. I tried using the
    JOIN command instead of the WHERE clause and that didn't help
    either.
    On the detail page, the customer is supposed to click on the
    Size box and see sizes XSM - 6XL ONLY ONE TIME. and then be able to
    click on the Color option and see White, Black, Red ONE TIME.
    Is this possible?
    Thank you for giving your time to read this.!

  • How can I create index(uniqie index) for a existed table?

    Hi guys,
    I want to create a index for a existed table, it should be unique index. I did it using se11, "indexes," and select the radio button "unqiue index", of course the fields as well. But when I activate it, I get a waring and therefore can not create this index. But if I select radio button "non-uniqe index", it works.
    However I have to reate a unqiue index.
    How can I do it?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Liying

    HI Wang
    You can create your index via SE11, enter the table name, click change, choose Go To, Indexes. Here create your index with the key fields that you want. To use the index, your select statement WHERE clause, you must have the key fields of the index in the order that they appear in the index. The "optimizer" will choose the index depending on your fields of the WHERE clause.
    One thing to remember is that when you create indexes for tables, the update or insert of these tables may have a slower response then before, I for one have never seen a big problem as of yet.
    this Document may help u on primary and secondary indexes :

  • Unable to create reference: org.omg.CORBA.OBJ_ADAPTER

    What is causing this error? I believe it is a configuration error, but I cannot discern what it is.
    Setup:
    I have two beans: a User entity bean, and a UserWrapper stateful session bean.
    Execution:
    My testing client-code looks up the UserWrapper EJB and creates a new object. In the UserWrapper ejbCreate method I am attempting to obtain a reference to a specific User by looking up the User EJB and calling its findByPrimaryKey method.
    Everything works fine right up until the UserWrapper.ejbCreate method is ready to close; I catch this exception:
    RemoteException occurred in server thread; nested exception is:
    java.rmi.RemoteException: nested exception is: java.lang.RuntimeException:
    Unable to create reference org.omg.CORBA.OBJ_ADAPTER: vmcid: SUN minor code: 1015 completed: No;
    Observations:
    User.ejbFindByPrimaryKey(UserPK pk) is NOT throwing ANY EXCEPTIONS! The error is passed to UserWrapper.ejbCreate from the container, or so it seems, but I am relatively positive it is not orginiating from the finder method. At this time the User.ejbFindByPrimaryKey method only returns the primary key object.
    UserWrapper.ejbCreate code:
    public void ejbCreate(String usrnm, String pswrd) throws CreateException {
      // instance variables
      UserHome userHome = null;
      // implementation
      try {
        // obtain an instance of the EJBHomeFactory and have it return an
        // instance of the UserHome interface
        userHome = (UserHome)EJBHomeFactory.getInstance().lookup(
            "ejb/User", net.cmpro.app.entity.user.UserHome.class);
        // request the container supply a User object for the specified
        // primary key object
        this.user = userHome.findByPrimaryKey(new UserPK(usrnm, pswrd));
      catch(FinderException e) {
        throw new CreateException(e.toString());
      catch(RemoteException e) {
        throw new EJBException(e.toString(), e);
    }Need a little help here. I'm getting very frustrated because I've never had this problem before.
    Thanks for any advice, no matter how off the wall it is.

    Yes, it is. This returns an EJBHome object from a cache. I picked this up from the IBM website. It is very handy. The method in question is as follows:
    public EJBHome lookup(String jndi, Class home) throws EJBException {
      // instance variables
      EJBHome ejbHome = null;
      Object obj = null;
      // implementation
      try {
        // looks for the interface in the collection by class
        ejbHome = (EJBHome)interfaces.get(home);
        if(ejbHome == null) {
          // looks up the interface by its JNDI name
          obj = context.lookup(jndi);
          // casts the returned object into the interface desired
          ejbHome = (EJBHome)PortableRemoteObject.narrow(obj, home);
          // put the newly retreived interface into the collection and
          // list it by its class      never use the interfaces JNDI name
          // because a single EJB object could have multiple JNDI names
          interfaces.put(home, ejbHome);
      catch(ClassCastException e) {
        throw new EJBException(e.toString());
      catch(NamingException e) {
        throw new EJBException(e.toString(true), e);
      return ejbHome;
    }
