Create Static PDF after Initialize script

I have a workflow that merges an XDP (built mostly of fragments) and form data. At the end of the process I need to append some static PDF files to the end. Because Assembler will not allow assembly of a dynamic XFA form, I am trying to use Output to flatten it first. The problem is, there is script in the Initialize event of the form that rearranges some things based on a status value in the form data. When I run the form through output, it is flattened before this happens.
Does anyone have an idea of how to go about this? We've been playing with PDF/A's and FormsService and can't get anywhere.

Ok here's the update so far...
I did create a simple XDP to run through the same process and the initialize scripts ran as expected. So that means the problem is the form.
I watched the logs and saw this...

Following this, you can see where all of the initialize scripts try to run but it says they fail.
Then there is an error that comes up like a hundred times, right in a row...but it might be a completely different issue:
java.net.UnknownHostException: usadc-vzwlsd23

Convert interactive to static PDF after signing

I'm using an interactive form and IF_FP_PDF_OBJECT->set_signature method to generate a signed adobe forms document in my ECC 6.0.
I want to send the signed document by email to the recipient, and archive a copy on my archive server.
It seems to me that before performing this actions I should convert the signed document to a static form.
The document would be smaller, and after signing I will not need interactivity in the form anymore.
Is this right?
How can I convert fpformoutput-pdf document to static pdf?

Hi
after you sign your PDF, you can't modify anymore. The PDF will be static, all PDF fields will be read only.
Usually after sign the PDF is a little more big.
if you have fpformoutput-pdf after signing you already have a static PDF

Creating a pdf after upgrading to mavericks/cannot communicate with printer.

i recently upgraded to mavericks. i have office 2011 installed. when i am trying to create a pdf in word, i get an error message that says word could not communicate with the printer. however, if i print something it works. this does not happen with any other program. this did not happen before upgrading to mavericks. help? thanks!

The printer drivers may need to be updated since your update to OS X Mavericks. Check out the article below for general troubleshooting for issues with printer issues. You may just need to remove and add the printer back using System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.

Create a PDF by external Script

Hello Adobe Community,
My problem:
I have some InDesign(Interactive) PDF files, i want to cut them and merge together, without loosing the interactivity of PDF.
Also my Question:
Does exist any Adobe tool/service/etc they can i call with an external Script, to generate new PDF's by merge other PDF's?

Within Creative Suite, not exactly.
Adobe have two systems that can automate the assembly of PDFs - LiveCycle and the Adobe PDF Library. LiveCycle is an enterprise-class server solution, and the PDF Library SDK is for programmers (C++, etc.). Neither are suitable for small-scale projects due to their cost and complexity.
If you don't care about automation, just use Acrobat. You can merge PDF files together through Acrobat's own interface or by context-clicking a bunch of PDFs in Explorer/Finder and choosing "Combine to PDF". Acrobat cannot be controlled by commandline options and it does not link to the ExtendScript tools used by the core CS6 applications, so combining files is entirely a mouse-driven manual process, but it's simple enough if you only have a handful of files to combine (or you're combining a large number of files into a small number of output documents).

My problem is that I cannot save my document to pdf using cs5 presets as i was able to do in cs4.
This is very disturbing as I just finished two newsletters, 40pages and 20 pages and cannot get them to my printer as pdfs.
I tried opening them in cs4, but could not do so.
It would be terrible to have to redo them.

I am using windows 7 64 bit and I have NO plugins or font manager This is a newer computer I have only had It for 3 months so I hav only installed Illustrator CS2 Photoshop CS2 and InDesign CS5 along with acrobat reader and At the time of attempting to create the PDF (after resrtart and trashing prefs) No other programs were actively running.

I have created a PDF from Adobe professional 9. I want to run a script when the PDF loads, how can we do that. I don't see a event at Form level, though there are limited events supported for text Field objects but they also don't have init script event.
I don't wnat to use XFA form using Livecycle.
Please help, need answer soon.

Just put the code directly in a document script. Any code in the document script (that is not a function) will execute on opening the document (assuming that Javascript has not been disabled on the user's end).

After defining the publication, right click on the newly created publication, go to properties, Click on Snapshot option, you will see options for "Run Additional Scripts", here you can browse and supply the script that you want to run

In order to convert your document/ Print your document to PDF you need to have PDF printer installed, which gets installed after installing Adobe Acrobat.
Using Adobe Acrobat you can convert most of documents to PDF.
Note: Postscript drivers are meant to convert documents to PDF format.

What do you mean by "uploading in Acrobat"?
(Note that if you change the size of text, it won't reflow, so you end up with a mess. Answer is, probably not useful)

Cannot create pdfs after upgrades: Adobe 9.2 and Mac OS 10.6.2

After upgrading to Adobe Professional 9.2 and Mac 10.6.2, I have lost the ability to create pdfs.
The Adobe Printer (display says the printer is v. 9.0) lists the print job status as "Error" and has the following message; "You need to install software to use this printer. To install the software, choose Software Update from the Apple menu. If the software for your printer isn’t available in Software Update, contact the manufacturer of your printer."
I get errors when I try to create a pdf from a webpage.
I get the following error when I try to create a pdf from a word file: "Acrobat could not open 'AAA.docx' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).
To create an Adobe PDF document, go to the source application. Then print the document to Adobe PDF."
(I am able create a pdf from jpg files... but I never really have a need to do this...)
I have uninstalled Adobe Professional using the uninstaller (then emptied trash and restarted), then reinstalled Adobe Professional from disk (and restarted). After the reinstallation, I still get the same problems, although I don't get any error messages until Adobe Professional updates itself from 9.0 to 9.2. Before the Adobe upgrade, v9.0 attempts to print to pdf just act like the pdf is created (no error messages), but I don't get a save prompt, nor is a new pdf document anywhere to be found.
Please help!!!

I am creating a file in Adobe PageMaker and wanting to make it a PDF for others to view who may not have that program.
I am operat ing under Windows 7 if that helps any.
The content of what I am sending shouldn't matter- just JPG's and text.
Should I uninstall my PDF reader and Cute PDF and re-load them back in?

Java console doesn't show any error... That's why I am wondering if it's not a limitation issue... or memory issue, because they are maybe too many rows or something....

Creating a PDF with automatic page turn after playing a movie

Is there anyway to create a pdf where pages get turned automatically after a movie has been played? Simply put, I need to create a slideshow with both movies and images, and with an automatic page turn every x seconds the movies might be either too short or too long.

You can use "Combine Files" tool at https://createpdf.acrobat.com/signin.html to add files to a PDF file.
1. Log into https://createpdf.acrobat.com/signin.html with your Adobe ID and password
2. Select "Combine Files" from right pane
3. Click "Select Files" button
4. Select your files to combine
5. Enter a name for combined PDF file
6. Click "Combine" button
7. Click "Download" button in the progress bar to download the combined file to your computer.

How do I automatically delete a .ps file after creating a pdf?

Hi all! I vaguley remember in the past that there is a preference to automatically delete a .ps file after creating a pdf. Can someone remind me of how to do this? I'm using Distiller version 9.2.0. Thank you so much!

PS: I'm creating the .ps file from Quark 7, if that makes a difference.

I am unaware of any feature allowing automatic delete of .PS files.
The adobePDF print driver which has been removed in OSX.6.x (Snow Leopard) That you choose when ina Document would go through the following steps in the background this made it slow.
create .ps File (hidden)
Checksum Verify the .ps File
Open Distiller in background (hidden)
Create Pdf
Checksum Verify the .pdf File
shut down Distiller in Backgroun (hidden)
Delete .ps File (hidden)
Pdf suddenly appears
If at any point in this chain something dies the pdf was not made.
Actually in prior OS to X.3.x the print driver provided for my Hp Inkjet, it was actually better to go to print menu, and choose save as postscript, then drop the postsript file on distiller and creat the PDF. or just open the ps in Acrobat.
with the PRint Drive provided for my HP Inkjet for X.3 it was changed to create Postcsript file from PDF. In the start having the PDF button on print menu. The pdf's were not as good as those created in the AdobePDF driver. But were aceptable for most purposes.
