  • Creating database and users while reverse engineering

While capturing design of existing databases we have to create tablespace and users.
Does this information have to be the same as the ones in the existing databases.
For ex: if i am capturing design of ESP schema our DBA has created tablespace ESP_dev1 and user ESP for this schema. When i reverse engineer i have to give the same info or this info is diff from real database and the designer repository. I don't understand this concept.
Can anybody explain this to me.
    Thanks.
    Navya.

So, when i make changes to the captured design and regerenate it's not going to use this info, right.
Since default settings are creating system and sys users which are not advisable to create in the real database.
    Thanks,
    Navya.

  • [Solved]mounting partitions as /var and /home while installing ...

Hi this was the second time i installed arch.
And while installing i just wanted to mount my former /home and /var. Never to format them. So i can keep my files. But i guess i missed the mount step. And now they are independent partitions. I want to add them as /var and /home properly without damaging any of my files in "/dev/sda6" partition which was meant to be "/home". Dont care about "/dev/sda5" which was meant to be "/var".
How can i do this. Normally i would search but i dont want anything to get damaged.
    Thanks in advance.

This page gives detailed information on moving /home to a seperate partition.
I your case, not wanting to damage the data on /dev/sda6, you should skip the copying part.

  • UDT and UDF - User-defined Tables and Fields

    Dear All,
I am writing a Query to permit the Cashier to check her Cash entries and balances on a Daily basis.
Basically, it's a General Ledger, but I want the Query - Selection Criteria window to display only a few GL codes namely GL codes 1240601, 1240602, 1240603 etc.
I don't know if I am doing it right. This is what I did (SAP B1 8.8):
    UDT
    I created a UDT called TEST2 using:
    Tools -> Customization Tools -> User-defined Tables - Setup
    UDF
Then I created a field in the UDT called GlCod using User-Defined Fields - Management
    Title : GlCod
    Description : GL Code
    Type : Alphanumeric 30
    Field Data
In the Field Data window, I ticked the Set Valid Values for Fields checkbox and filled in the blanks as follows:
    #                  Value                Description
1                 1240601             Cash in Hand (Rs)
2                 1240602             Cash in Hand (USD Notes)
3                 1240603             Cash in Hand (Euro Notes)
    etc...
    Query
Then I wrote my Query (see below).
When I run it, I get the Selection Criteria screen as I wanted:
    Query - Selection Criteria
    GL Code                                   ...............   (arrow here)
    Posting Date                              ...............
    [OK]                [Cancel]
When I click on the GL Code arrow, I get a window with the exact choices I need. It looks like this:
1240601 -  Cash in Hand (Rs)
1240602 -  Cash in Hand (USD Notes)
1240603 -  Cash in Hand (Euro Notes)
    Executing the Query
The Query seems to run normally, but nothing is generated on the screen, and there's no Error Message.
What can be wrong about this query?
I suspect that the GL codes in JDT1 and TEST2 are not of the same data type, so that INNER JOIN returns nothing.
    Thanks,
    Leon Lai
    Here's my SQL
    declare @TEST2 TABLE
    (GlCod varchar(30))
    declare @GlCod nvarchar (30)
    set @GlCod =/*SELECT T0.U_GlCod from [dbo].[@TEST2] T0 where T0.U_GlCod=*/  '[%0]'
    declare @refdt datetime
    set @ref=/*SELECT T1.RefDate from [dbo].[JDT1] T1 where T1.RefDate=*/ '[%1]'
    select
    t1.Account as 'GL Code',
    t1.RefDate as 'Posting Date',
    t0.U_GlCod as 'Restricted GL Codes'
    from JDT1 T1
    INNER JOIN @TEST2 T0 ON T0.[U_GlCod] = T1.[Account]
    WHERE
    t1.RefDate <= @refdt
    and
    t0.U_GLCod = @GlCod

    Try this:
    declare @GlCod nvarchar (30)
    set @GlCod =/*SELECT T0.U_GlCod from [dbo].[@TEST2] T0 where T0.U_GlCod=*/  '[%0]'
    declare @refdt datetime
    set @refdt=/*SELECT T1.RefDate from [dbo].[JDT1] T1 where T1.RefDate=*/ '[%1]'
    select
    t1.Account as 'GL Code',
    t1.RefDate as 'Posting Date'
    from JDT1 T1
    WHERE
    t1.RefDate <= @refdt
      and
    T1.[Account] = @GlCod
(There is no need to declare the memoria table @test2 if you already created one table with this name.
And there is no need to a join.)

  • Prompt Terms and Conditions while installing AIR application

Can we modify the air installation to prompt for terms and conditions agreement while any customer installs our AIR application?

    HI Tedalde2,
Nothing was available regarding that on the internet.
I think that is the only option we have to date and am thinking of doing the same as you said you do.

Here's what I know now... Tiger's Disk Utility *****. There is clearly a retiring of all things System 7.5.x, read legacy is just not on the minds of Apple engineers, or it's not well documented.
That said, here's what I got to work:
First I use /sbin/newfs_hfs to build the floppy filesystem:
    % /sbin/newfs_hfs -h -b 512 /dev/disk2
Then, using dd ("disk-to-disk") on the command line, with the System 7.5.3 image mounted, I do a character device copy to get the image to the floppy. This indeed worked and booted my Macintosh Performa 200 to the installer.
    mercury:~ root# dd if=/dev/rdisk1 of=/dev/rdisk2 bs=512
    2880+0 records in
    2880+0 records out
    1474560 bytes transferred in 608.056694 secs (2425 bytes/sec)
Downside... took over 600 seconds. Yeah, ten minutes! Going to try a couple of tweaks to my "one-liner" to jam that down, possibly use a larger bs (blocksize in the transfer). But this could be a limitation of the character special device v. the block special device (always reporting Resource busy). I'm a hack, not an engineer.
    Regards, hope this helps someone.

Not same case but related with Java: 32Bit VI Java Virtual Machine error
In this discussion Hanry Banks answers as follows:
    1.  Did you install using "Run As Administrator"?
    2. In your Advanced System Properties, Go to Environment Variables > System Variables
Look for the 'Path' variable. It should include the following values:  C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin
In the same area, look for the 'JAVA_HOME' variable. It should point to C:\Program Files\Java\jre6
    - Can you confirm?
    3. Also go Control Panel > Java > Java Control Panel > Java tab > View > User > Path.  It should point to C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe .
    - How does it look for you?
How much memory is available on your machine as you launch? Go to: Task manager > Performance > Physical Memory > Available (MB)

  • Exclude Weekends and Holidays while applying for leave...

    Hi,
Could anyone help me out in excluding holidays while applying for leave via absence management (employee self service) in R12? While clicking on calculate duration it includes weekends as well by default. Since updating the formula BG_ABSENCE_DURATION will involve creating UDTs, modify UDF and additional effort; I tried creating workschedulle and updated the profile HR: Schedule Based Absence Calculation to 'Yes' following the metalink note 'Schedule Based Absence Calculation in Self Service' [ID 437083.1] but no luck. Is there any other additional setup that needs to be done or its better to update Fast Formula. Kindly advise on the same. Thanks in Advance!!!
    Thanks,
    Ahmed

Thanks much Gaurav. I was able to work it out by creating work schedule itself. I reckon I missed out selecting the schedule pattern. We need to ensure that after creating schedule the pattern needs to be selected and launched. After a while it gets effected in the system. Just in case if others are trying to implement work schedule for working days between Saturday to Wednesday following are the step involved. I have created two schedule pattern with day start as 1 and day stop as 4; and another pattern with day start as 7 and day stop as 7. It works like charm....:)

  • User define table and store procedure install

    Hi there,
I like to deploy an addon, there are User define tables and store procedure need add to database, I wonder which chance is properly to add them, if add these user define objects in time of install, we can not get the enough information that connect to SQL server, and also create UDT need DIAPI. if put create UDT and UDsp in addon program, the problem is which DIAPI funciton or object can execute create store procedure SQL string.
    Thanks for any help.
    Lanjun

    R. Schwachofer,
    Thank you very much,
the way call isqlw.exe to run SQL script is a good way when install, but I confuse with two questions about this way. first, run isqlw.exe should provid loginid and password of SQL server, these two information need additional install dialog to get; second if use isqlw.exe the store procedure only create to the current company database, when create new compay DB the store procedure does not exist in new DB.
so I still do not know which way is the proper way to create SP for addon.
    Thanks in advance.

Are you launching Pages from an icon in your Dock? Installing the update does not change the Dock icons & it does not remove the older versions. Go to your Applications folder & launch the new Pages from there.
