Create Workspace together with applications

The Background:

I get the Users, Roles and Rights from the OID. In the OID I have no mapping which Rights has a Role an which Roles has a User, because it is an object oriented system, where a user can have differnt rights on thousands of objects.
Therefore the "Satellite-Systems" which uses the OID have to make the mapping Users, Roles, Rights themselves. I have 3 differnt tables replicated from the OID with these informations.
The goal:
=========
If somebody is requesting a Workspace he should have an application automatically generated with the tables, where the Workspace-Administrator can make the individual mapping Users, Roles, Rights. There should be predefined generated mappings and Authorization Schemes.
My Suggestion:

I would generate a Schema with the tables replicated by the OID. There should be views (automatically generated) for every Workspace which is generated by the HTML DB Administrator. I would create a Mapping-Application where the Workspace Administrators can map Users, Roles and Rights individually. I would make some predefined Role/Right-Mappings and Authorization Schemes. Then I would export these application, authorization schemes and tables with rows and somehow generate it in every Workspace when a User is requesting a new Workspace
My Question:

How can I generate an ready built application, with tables and rows and authorization schemes for every requested Workspace? Ideally I can choose, if this application should be generated in the new Workspace.

I certainly don't have the whole answer for you right now. But you might find it useful to start by creating an application that has no components except the authorization schemes based on your authorization tables. Then, for each new workspace, import this application into the workspace using a new application ID. Each application created in the workspace would be expected to copy and subscribe to all the authorization schemes in this "authorization scheme repository" application. The application developers would also have to attach the authorization schemes to the appropriate application components.
Taking this a step further, you could create another application in your initial workspace that would be a starter application for developers to install in their new workspaces using a new application ID during each installation. This application would have the basic structure and shared components for developers to start out with. Then they would copy/subscribe to all the authorization schemes of the already installed "authorization scheme repository" application in their workspace.
I know this does not extend new workspace provisioning to include the automation that you might find desirable, but it's a start. Please advise if I'm missing your intent.

It sounds like this could be an overwrite issue. From the file path you specified, I can tell you that the error is occurring in creating the installer for your executable. Are you specifying an installer directory where you have already created an installer of the same name? If so, is that directory read only? Make sure that write privileges are enabled for you installer directory, and if that doesn't fix anything, try specifying a different installer directory.
If none of these suggestions take care of the problem, please post a simple example that illustrates the problem (i.e. a simple VI and a copy of the build file). We can then try to replicate the problem and troubleshoot it. What version of LabVIEW are you using?

How do you export an Apex Workspace along with applications?

Hi All,
I just wanted to get clarification here.
I have an Apex Workspace with 10 applications and I wanted to move these to a separate server/database....So...what are the steps?
1). Do I need to run Data pump on source and target database to import the tables , etc?? and also run the DDL commands on the utilities?
2). Or do I just need to run the ApexExport utility to export Workspace and applications?

I'd say that depends on what you actually want to transfer.
For transferring the Workspace and the Application Definitions it is sufficient to export those (using either the application builder or the ApexExport) and import on the other system.
If you also want to transfer data you might want to look into Datapump.

Create uninstaller exe with application builder

Hi!
Im using LabVIEW 8.5. I have created an application with the app. builder, it works fine, also an installer.
But I need an UNINSTALLER, like Uninstall.exe to be created also.
I have found a NI doc, which says:
"The Create Uninstaller option was removed from the
Advanced Installer Settings dialog box because the Application
Builder always creates an uninstaller"
But where can I find it?
im able to uninstall my app, using the Windows add/remove softwares option, but i need an exe.

Since the installer is based on Microsoft technology and the Microsoft standard is to only have the Add/Remove option, you cannot create an uninstall.exe with LabVIEW. I'm not even sure why would would need to if everything works with Add/Remove Programs and that is what everyone is used to now. In any case, there are probably some commercial installer packages available that still support the old technology.

Can .air installer some files together with the application?

I have an installer.air that is created by Adobe Flash. I have another file called settings.cfg which is needed for my application to run. How do let the computer auto install settings.cfg into the installation directory together with the application when i run installer.air? Currently, I need to manually place the settings.cfg into the application installed directory.

Ummm... OK. But why? If you only need a SQL tool why not use SQLDeveloper or some other tool? Is it that you want a web browser interface?
It would be very unwise to try to remove the applications you mention from the apex installation. This is probably possible but potentially very risky as the stability of your apex installation is concerned.
You might want to try taking a CSS approach and hide all the stuff you don't want to see via a custom CSS file that you could put in your installation.

However, you can go to the App Store and do a search using YouTube. You can download several YouTube apps: YouTube (for the iPhone, a IPad app is in work), several users like Jasmine and YouPlayer.

Business Rules error when creating new classic planning application in 9.3.

Im trying to create a new planning application using classis planning application wizard in Workspace. everything seems alright untill i gets an error saying "Business rules cant connect to Planning"
other than this Business rules working fine and i can open business rules in other applications and i can access business rules repository in EAS.
Any thoughts on this ?

Further invesitgation bears this problem out.
Oracle support recommend wrapping the SimpleType in a ComplexType. This does work, but now I have an extra wrapper element to deal with. I either have to use the wrapped type in my other complex, composed Types and/or add an external wrapping element when trying to create Business Services in BPM to call the BusinessRules I've created.
This is a bit messy.
To be clear, this does not seem to be an issue with Business Rules; the BR editor and generation of Facts (including simple restricted types -> JAXB 2.0/Java Enumerations) seems to work correctly. There seems to be an issue exposing DFs as Services. The code which generated the WSDL and its supporting types seems to choke on restricted SimpleTypes.
As a side note, it seems that HumanTasks have a similar limitation

CS6 Beta Bridge bug importing CS5 workspace names with apostrophes (Win 7, 64x)

When I installed the CS6 Beta and opened Bridge [using File > Browse in Bridge...] I noticed that my CS5 workspace name of "Mark's" was showing as "MARK&APOS;S". I tried creating a new workspace in CS6 Bridge with the name of "Marc's". No problem with the newly-created name. So, the problem must be just when importing workspace names with aprostrophes from previous Ps versions.
Side note: this CS6 Beta working great so far! Thanks to everyone.

what are other necessary softwares?please tell me From where i get the source code samples?

Hi U,
Tomcat is only JSP/Servlet container -- no EJB support.
Easiest is to download the Netbeans 6.1 bundle including Glassfish and JavaDB, thats all you need + JDK and Java EE of course.
Glassfish has both web/JSP/Servlet-container and EJB-container, so Tomcat is not needed then.
( If for some reason you really want to use Tomcat, you can use it together with OpenEJB for example, to add EJB-support. )
