Created a custom sound. How to save this "instrument" as a preset in Logic?

I have created a custom sound using the ES2 plugin and I have added some effects to it. How do I save this new "instrument" as a preset? and can I chose what folder to put it in/create a new one?

If you want to save an instrument patch together with plugins and so on, you should save it as a channel strip.
Use the channel strip menu at the top of the channel object. There is a defined directory for user channel strips, but you can create folders within it and organise your channel strip settings as you like.
These settings will show up in the channel strip menu, and the media browser too.

I have a Verizon iPhone 4s recently upgraded to iOS 7. I'm an IT engineer who's on call and started a new job last week with a company that doesn't provide company phones like a blackberry. So now I get tons of company email alerts, text messages, and phone calls both private and for work. I always have my phone switched to vibrate to filter out the noise of generic emails/texts/phone calls, but I also need to be able to configure specific emails sent from our network monitoring servers, text messages from my teammates and alerting devices, as well as phone calls from our internal tech support to be sent with sound. Ideally I also need to be able to configure alert options in an "On-call" profile I can switch on so that I can configure alert repeats and the most annoying noise I can find so I don't sleep through network pages.. But I still want to be able to keep the default vibrate for everyone else and everything else.. How do I create a custom sound/vibration profile per app, SMS text, phone, or email contact? In blackberry's, you can easily create different profiles to switch back/forth and configure each app/text/phone option to either a sound option or vibrate. iPhone seems to be all vibrate or all sound, with little to no options to mix/match the two.. If Apple ever hopes to truly capture the enterprise market blackberry has, this is the most standard and essential feature on blackberries for IT professionals.. If I have to buy a third-party app for this, so be it. But I've been searching for hours and found nothing that creates customized sound/vibrate profiles for iPhone like this (minus jailbreaking your phone, but I shouldn't have to jailbreak a $699 "smartphone" for simple sound/vibrate/alert options like this..).

As far as I can tell with my iphone what you want to do is not possible. There are sites that tell you how to make different ringtones for the device but your choices to change sounds for email and text/sms messages are controlled unders sounds in the setting menu. Again the manual is on your phone and online if you need assistance changing sounds and ringtones.

If you don't have a SIM card in the phone, you must put one in. It's required for activation.
If you do, then your phone was probably hacked to unlock it from the original carrier. Contact them and see if they will unlock it. If they will not do so, then you can't use that phone.

Trying to create a customized PDF form to save and re-use

New to this program. I have created a "fill-in-the-blanks" PDF form and have saved it. But now when I print the form, there are characters in the beginning of the text boxes. They are T and E. I don't understand why she characters are there and how do I get rid of them. We want this form to fill in the blanks format, then we want to be able to save it, and go on to the next one. In other words we will be re-using this format over and over again. Can someone help me? I am frustrated as I am almost there. Plus I downloaded a 30 day trial of Adobe Pro 9 to see if I could do this.....so I don't know if I will need to buy this program or not. Thanks.

My application allows users to enter data .So once the data entry is done , I have to create a word document by clicking 'create ' button ' . How can I send the data to the word document ( I already have the format for the word document and have been able to generate a dummy word document when I click 'create' ) . The only thing left is to replace the dummy data which I have inserted in word document by the data from the user entries

1)by using session object of application ,document list as follow

New note created "On My Mac" - how to stop this?

Whenever I create a new note in Mail.app, by clicking on the "compose new note" button in the toolbar, it creates the note "On My Mac", which means it doesn't sync to MobileMe, and therefore to my other Macs and my iPhone.
Is there any way to change this so that new notes (or new anything in Mail.app) is always created in MobileMe?

Yes, Preferences, then Composing, then select Create Notes and To Dos in MobileMe.

How to save expression together with animation preset?

I am trying to understand expressions and animation presets.
I have one single slider control, which controls the opacity of a layer, where the value is the slider value + slightly changed using an expression.
I can save the slider control as an animation preset, but the expression gets lost.
Yes, this is so basic that it can be, this is the way I like to learn. And as far as I know, expressions can be saved together with animation presets. I hope someone can tell me how!

The reason that the expression is not removed when you delete the slider is that the expression is only reading the slider value, the slider doesn't know that the expression is there. There's no reverse link.
You can build more professional effects but that involves editing the xml file that tells AE what effects are applied. This still would not generate a reverse link to an expression.
Enabling or disabling an effect only changes the way things are rendered. If you have keyframes on a Lens Flair Brightness and you disable the effect the Lens Flair will not render but the keyframe values will still be available to an expression. Again, there's no reverse link. Since an expression slider does not make a change in the pixel values of a layer turning the FX switch on or off will have no effect on an expression reading the value.
The "trick" in creating an Animation Preset that uses expressions and is removed with the "effect" is removed from the Effects Control Window is to only write expressions for properties that are available in the effects used. You could do this by applying the Transform Effect, or the Levels Individual Controls Effect, or the CC Composite Effect to the layer and writing the expression there instead of placing your expression in the Layer's opacity property. Take a look at this screenshot.

Thank you. I know how to do a watermark. I may not have asked the right question. What I really want is a banner that I could include text, logo, block color or any combination. I think I need to make a background template and drop the photos in. I was hoping for a way to do it as an automated workflow instead of one by one. I've seen photographers do this for running and biking events and have the photos for sale at the end. I'm not looking to be that quick, but want to be able to create a memory image with the event name for a group of people.
Now that I read your post again, your latter comment about a custom watermark in Lr might work if I compose the shots right!

How do you create a custom brush "shape"?

I want to create an effect of a large paintbrush moving across the screen.
Is there any way to create a custom brush "shape" to do this using the Paint tools? I can't find anything obvious in the help on how to do this.

Or, if you have Trapcode Particular, define your shape as a custom particle. The painting could then be controlled by animating the emitter position or defining a motion path by ways of a 3D light as an helper item.

Figured out how to print to 11x17 with Acrobat (but how to save or do this in Preview?)!

after about a year and a half of doing the digital equivalent of walking into a very large building that is totally blacked out - and bumping around endlessly until i found a light swich - i am not able to print to 11x17 out of Acrobat on the Mac.
i have posted the steps below and when i recover from this herculean taks i am going to try and tackle printing to 12 x 18.
i just took another look at PREVIEW and i am afraid that it is going to take me another year and a half to figure out Preview and/or Numbers etcetera - so if anyone has any tips on printing to 11x17 or 12x18 in these two programs i would be uber happy to get the instructions for this.
also, if has ANY IDEAS on how to save this set of preferences so that i can simply print to 11x17 without going through all of these steps each time it would be great. i have not figured out how to save the presets and it is going to make me unhappy especially when i have to print 20 pages at a time.

We are implementing SAP in one PET manufacturing Industry.
Here they Manufacturing PET Bottles, Actually for Making PET bottles they procured Raw Materials from outside through Purchase order and same time the same customer is also giving same Raw Materials (Free of cost) for the production.
Currently they are not maintaining separate stock for own purchase and customer raw materials, everything they keeping in single material code and output also single material code. End of the year they using material reconciliation and getting some credits from customer.
How to address this scenario in SAP, whether we have to create separate material codes for RM purchase and RM customer and separate material codes for FG also.
Or single code for RM and FG.
Kindly give your valuable suggestions, actually user not ready for seperate codes for seperate code for RM and FG

I think for costing purpose, in consideration of logistics side, the valuation split for Finished goods may sound right for your scenario.
You may want to create two BOMs, one for own raw material. Another, you can use the different code for raw material provided by customer and unflag costing relevancy. You can use mixed cost estimate to perform standard cost estimate per valuation type. The benefit of this is to separate the costs per FG using own or customer raw material. You may also want to activate batch management for FG as well (therefore, can be monitored easier and able to do batch determination).
However, you must separate production orders since one production order can have only one valuation type.
If you can't do that, then you may want to split only raw material via valuation type as well. You maintain BOM as normal, FG is valuated per moving avg. of raw material at the time of planning (or may use other method for example, planned price). You may need to develop customized report to calculate FG/rm owned by customer report. Alternatively, it is recorded in material documents so you can simply use MB51.
