CreateInsert entering previous values in new rows

hi i have a situation where when i click my createInsert button it make a duplicate values of previous enterd values to new row,for example if i enter values in a row of a table, and if i click createinsert again it take the previous entered values to new row and when i go click save it only save the last entered values,am using a bean and the values am entering using a adftable my createinsert is below am in jdeveloper 11.1.1.6.0,how can i make the new row come with empty values
Edited by: adf0994 on 2012/12/06 4:22 PM

what do you mean i must have the value properties pointing to the attribute in the binding layer,am using a bean
you mean my value should be like this #{bindings.name.inputValue},i don't what that because when i iterator my table am not able to insert value to database,check my post java.lang.RuntimeException: Iterator 'BeanIterator' not found

  • ALV Grid default values for new rows added with Add/Insert buttons

    Hi!
    Help, please,  to find a way how to set default values for new rows added with Add/Insert buttons in
    ALV Grid.

    I have found salution:
    ALV Grid u2013 Insert row function
    Sometimes we need to assign some default values when we create a new row in a grid using standard ALV Append row button. In our scenario we will see how to assign default values to Airline Code (CARRID), Flight Connection Number (CONNID) and Flight date (FLDATE) when a new row is created. To do that we need to handle DATA_CHANGED event in the program like mentioned below.
    Definition of a class:
    Code:
          CLASS lcl_event_receiver DEFINITION
    CLASS LCL_EVENT_RECEIVER DEFINITION.
      PUBLIC SECTION.
    METHODS:
         handle_data_changed
         FOR EVENT data_changed OF cl_gui_alv_grid
         IMPORTING er_data_changed
                           e_ucomm.
    ENDCLASS.                    "lcl_event_receiver DEFINITION
    Implementation of a class:
    Code:
    CLASS LCL_EVENT_RECEIVER IMPLEMENTATION.
      METHOD HANDLE_DATA_CHANGED.
        DATA: dl_ins_row TYPE lvc_s_moce.   " Insert Row
          FIELD-SYMBOLS: <fs> TYPE table.    " Output table
    Loop at the inserted rows table and assign default values
        LOOP AT er_data_changed->mt_inserted_rows INTO dl_ins_row.
          ASSIGN er_data_changed->mp_mod_rows->* TO <fs>.
          loop at <fs> into ls_outtab.
            ls_outtab-carrid  = 'LH'.
            ls_outtab-connid  = '400'.
            ls_outtab-fldate  = sy-datum.
            MODIFY <fs> FROM ls_outtab INDEX sy-tabix.
          endloop.
        endloop.
      ENDMETHOD.                    "handle_data_changed
    ENDCLASS.                    "lcl_event_receiver IMPLEMENTATION
    Register the events to trigger DATA_CHANGED event when a new row is created.
    Code:
        CALL METHOD OBJ_GRID->REGISTER_EDIT_EVENT
          EXPORTING
            I_EVENT_ID = CL_GUI_ALV_GRID=>MC_EVT_ENTER.
        CALL METHOD OBJ_GRID->REGISTER_EDIT_EVENT
          EXPORTING
            I_EVENT_ID = CL_GUI_ALV_GRID=>MC_EVT_MODIFIED.

  • How to copy  existing  row  value into new row  with a trigger. Same table

    Oracle guru,
    I am looking for a before or after trigger statement that will copy existing values inserted in the previous row into columns A & B. Then insert those values in a new row into column A & B if null? Same table. Hopefully my question is clear enough.

    -I have an existing " before insert trigger" that insert id and timestamps when a new row is created.
    -Table is composed of column like id,timestamps,A,B and more.

    PierreI will call it a very Wrong design.
    It is a wrong Table Design. You are duplicating the data in table and not complying with the Database Normalization rules.
    How about Verifying if Column A & B are NULL before inserting and inserting another row and avoiding it in Triggers?
    If you are bent to achieve this, below code might be helpful. However, I would never go with this approach. If you would care about explaining the reason for going ahead with such a data model, people could suggest better alternative that might conform with Normalization rules.
    create or replace trigger trg_test_table
    after insert on test_table
    for each row
    declare
      pragma autonomous_transaction;
    begin
      if :new.col_a is null and :new.col_b is null then
        insert into test_table
        select 2, systimestamp, col_a, col_b
          from test_table
         where pk_col = (select max(pk_col) from test_table b where b.pk_col < :new.pk_col);
      end if;
      commit;
    end trg_test_table;Read SQL and PL/SQL FAQ and post the mentioned details.
    Do not forget to mention output from
    select * from v$version;

  • Compare previous value and new value on Campaign Save

    Hi All,
    I create a campaign. I need some exit ( badi etc.) which is called before saving the campaign and after saving the campaign. My main intention is to compare the previous value and the new value.
    Thanks in advance,
    Raviraj

    Yes, you would have to write code that specifically compared each column. And update that code when the column list changed. Of course, you could always write code that generated your triggers for you based on the column definitions.
    On the other hand, I would tend to suggest that if you need an audit history, you want to store the whole row. Otherwise, the queries necessary to parse your audit table get to be hideously complicated and people spend a lot of time trying to reconstruct the state of a row at a particular point in time, often introducing errors.
    If you need an audit history, I would also tend to look into Oracle's auditing features or something like Workspace Manager that automatically tracks a version history for rows. Both of those are built into the database, which tends to make them a lot easier to deal with than a custom trigger solution.

  • How to set a default value in an ADF table when adding a new row

    Hi Guys,
    I have a view object which I am using to create an ADF table. I also have a button which uses a CreateInsert binding to add a new row to the table. I have four fields: created_by, creation_date, last_update_by and last_update_date.
    I want these values to be set automatically when I click add new row.
    The values I want are:
    created_by - admin
    creation_date - sysdate
    last_update_by - admin
    lsat_update_date - sysdate
    Any suggestions on how to do this would be appreciated
    Thanks
    -Mark

    mark,
    Those four fields can be set completely declaratively in the Entity Object (check out the History Colum feature). Copied from the (11g) documentation:
    If you need to keep track of historical information in your entity object, such as when an entity was created or modified and by whom, or the number of times the entity has been modified, you specify an attribute with the History Column option selected (in the Edit Attribute dialog).
    If an attribute's data type is Number, String, or Date, and if it is not part of the primary key, then you can enable this property to have your entity automatically maintain the attribute's value for historical auditing. How the framework handles the attribute depends which type of history attribute you indicate:
    * Created On: This attribute is populated with the time stamp of when the row was created. The time stamp is obtained from the database.
    * Created By: The attribute is populated with the name of the user who created the row. The user name is obtained using the getUserPrincipalName() method on the Session object.
    * Modified On: This attribute is populated with the time stamp whenever the row is updated/created.
    * Modified By: This attribute is populated with the name of the user who creates or updates the row.
    * Version Number: This attribute is populated with a long value that is incremented whenever a row is created or updated.

  • How to refresh the grid so that default  values come on adding new row.

    Hi Experts,
    In alv grid while adding new row, i want some 2-3 column values to come by default from already existing row in grid.
    i am getting new row in internal table with 2-3 default values and rest columns blank on adding new row in alv grid
    but the entire row is coming blank, not able to get the default values in new row
    how can i refresh the grid so that default  values come on adding new row.
    thanks

    Hi Surabhi,
    Use this in Interactive section even if you are doing simple ALV.
    DATA:
    lv_ref_grid TYPE REF TO cl_gui_alv_grid.
    CLEAR : gv_tcode.
    *-- to ensure that only new processed data is displayed
    IF lv_ref_grid IS INITIAL.
    CALL FUNCTION 'GET_GLOBALS_FROM_SLVC_FULLSCR'
    IMPORTING
    e_grid = lv_ref_grid.
    ENDIF.
    IF NOT lv_ref_grid IS INITIAL.
    CALL METHOD lv_ref_grid->check_changed_data.
    ENDIF.
    THis will solve your problem.

  • How to create the new row with existing values

    Hi all,
    first of all i create a row,
    i opened that in edit mode,
    suppose i want to edit any one of the value in that recordd,
    that time compulsory create a new row with those valuess.
    how can i create a new row with those valuess.

    Hi Anusha,
    This code correct for your requirement, only thing is you are not able to modify it as per your requirement.
    What you have to do is:
    1. Copy queried row into into new row, change primary key values(but don't commit your changes here).
    2. Now you have two rows in your VO(OLD as well as New)
    3. Make any changes if you want using User Interface.
    4. At the save button first compare OLD and NEW row, if any value is differing then commit the chnages(it will insert new row in corresponding database table), if no changes are there I mean to say OLD value and NEW rows are same then rollback(it will remove copied row from VO and no row will be inserted in database.)
    While comparing rows please note that Primary keys will not be same so don't compare Primary keys while comparing rows.
    I hope it will help you.

  • Tabular form - adding new row

    Hi,
    I have a very simple table (5 rows, 1 of which is the primary key), and want to update the table using a tabular form. On initial display, the primary key column is protected (cannot be changed) which is ok for DELETE and UPDATE options, but when I come to ADD A NEW ROW, the new row has NULL defaulted as the primary key value, and will not let me update it !!
    Does anyone know how I can leave the primary key column protected when UPDATING or DELETING, but allow a value to be entered when ADDING A NEW ROW ?
    thanks
    Tim

    Andy,
    Just made the following changes (to remove NARR1_CODE_DISPLAY and show and edit NARR1_CODE):
    select
    "NARR1_CODE",
    --"NARR1_CODE" NARR1_CODE_DISPLAY,
    "NARR1_LOWER_LIMIT",
    "NARR1_UPPER_LIMIT",
    "NARR1_RMP_MIDPOINT_1",
    "NARR1_RMP_MIDPOINT_2"
    from "#OWNER#"."DQ_PD_TRANS_DIST_BAND_NARR1"
    where the column NARR1_CODE is my primary id, and in the report attributes, NARR1_CODE is now editable and shown as a "text field" . NARR1_CODE_DISPLAY has been removed.
    However, when I go into my form screen, although the NARR1_CODE field is now editable, when I click ADD NEW ROW, enter the details for a new row, check the box alongside the new row and click SUBMIT, I get the following error message :
    Error in mru internal routine: ORA-20001: Error in MRU: row= 1, ORA-20001: ORA-20001: Current version of data in database has changed since user initiated update process. current checksum = "A884FA378C851786DDFE3A33709CB23C", item checksum = "F6395FDACE39D98E784F85C19D960620"., update "GRD_DD10_OWNER"."DQ_PD_TRANS_DIST_BAND_NARR1" set "NARR1_CODE" = :b1, "NARR1_LOWER_LIMIT" = :b2, "NARR1_UPPER_LIMIT" = :b3, "NARR1_RMP_MIDPOINT_1" = :b4, "NARR1_RMP_MIDPOINT_2" = :b5

  • Iterator not reflected on entering new values for the row

    Hi,
    I am having an editable table coming from an EJB Stateless Session Bean. I created a data control out of the session bean and dragged and dropped the output
    of the method in the session bean as a table in the jspx page. On click of the "Create" link, I have an action listener that creates a new row in the top of
    the table.
    DCIteratorBinding iter = DFUtils.findIterator("getMultSortReportListIterator");
    RowSetIterator rowSetIter = iter.getRowSetIterator();
    Row row = rowSetIter.createRow();
    row.setNewRowState(Row.STATUS_NEW);
    row.setAttribute("reportName", "");
    row.setAttribute("sectionName", "");
    row.setAttribute("userId", "");
    row.setAttribute("viewCriteria", "");
    rowSetIter.insertRowAtRangeIndex(0, row);
    rowSetIter.setCurrentRowAtRangeIndex(0);
    After the row is created, I enter values into the row and click on "Save" link. The action Listener for the save link is:
    BindingContainer bindings = getBindings();
    DCIteratorBinding iter = (DCIteratorBinding) bindings.get("getMultSortReportListIterator");
    //Read the entered values from the iterator
    Row currentRow = iter.getRowAtRangeIndex(0);
    String reportName = currentRow.getAttribute("reportName").toString();
    String sectionName = currentRow.getAttribute("sectionName").toString();
    Long userId = Long.parseLong(currentRow.getAttribute("userId").toString());
    String viewCriteria = currentRow.getAttribute("viewCriteria").toString();
    //Store to database
    MultipleSortReport multipleSortReportBean = new MultipleSortReport(reportName, sectionName, userId, viewCriteria);
    OperationBinding operationBinding = bindings.getOperationBinding("persistMultipleSortReportTest");
    Map params = operationBinding.getParamsMap();
    params.put("multipleSortReportObj", multipleSortReportBean);
    IMultipleSortReport multipleSortReportInfo = (IMultipleSortReport)operationBinding.execute();
    The problem is that after entering the values into the newly created row, I have to tab out of the row and click with the mouse to place the cursor in the
    end of the next row's first field for the iterator to reflect the entered values. If i enter the last column in the new row and after entering it I directly
    click on "Save", the newly entered values are not reflected in the iterator. The iterator is still reflecting the old values of the row i.e. "" empty fields
    as it was initialized during Create Row.
    Can you help me fix this problem. I want the iterator to reflect the newly entered values without having to tab out of the row.

    Marvin,
    I would suggest starting to debug your new CT in the following order
    1) ABAP - run directly in SAP to confirm you are getting the data you expect
    2) Set breakpoints in ABAP and confirm your transmit is calling into your ABAP as expected
    3) Java - Add breakpoints and step through your Java class to confirm it is getting back the data as expected
    4) ATE - Look at the CT in the ATE to view the contents

  • Using the Form javascript.addrow() to pass values while creating a new row?

    Version: 4.1.0
    DB: 11g
    Theme- scarlet 21
    Hi,
    I have a standard tabular form with the add, delete, submit buttons. Now when we hit the Add button, it creates a new row in the form. I had a requirement such that the user selects a row using the standard checkbox and then when he hits add, it should create a new row, and also, copy the contents of the selected row to the new row.
    Is this possible? Any suggestions please? I am thinking that I need to create a pl/sql process under Add button to check if the checkbox is selected, and if yes, then maybe run the javascript addrow(not sure if it can be done) and then try to populate the values.
    Thanks!

    Hi Joni,
    Thanks. I am not familiar with JQuery, is there some link where such a logic is implemented? Atleast a basic one of adding a new row, and traversing and capturing the values? In forms we could do it using cursor but not sure how to do it in Apex.
    In my case the requirement is straightforward. If there is a table with three rows and have a standard form in APEX with the add, delete and submit buttons along with the radio checkbox in a tabular form,
    If I select a row and then hit the add button, a new row should be added and the values of the previous row should be passed.
    Would you be having a link to any such demo or documentation on how this is done, would be very helpful.
    Thanks!

  • Problem in Creating new row & inserting data using CreateInsert and Commit

    Hello All,
    I have created a page there are few input text and i want to insert the data into a database table. I have created an Application Module I am using CreateInsert and Commit operation but there is one problem.
    At first it created a row in database after that it is not creating the new row instead it is updating the same row with the new values.
    In bindings of my jspx page I have created two binding for action (1) CreateInsert for the VO of that Application Module (2) Commit operation of that Application Module.
    Here is the code snippet of my application:
    BindingContainer bindings = getBindings();
    OperationBinding operationBinding = bindings.getOperationBinding("CreateInsert");
    Object result = operationBinding.execute();
    *if (!operationBinding.getErrors().isEmpty()) {*
    return null;
    OperationBinding operationBinding1 = bindings.getOperationBinding("Commit");
    Object result1 = operationBinding1.execute();
    *if (!operationBinding1.getErrors().isEmpty()) {*
    return null;
    I have tried using Execute+Commit and Insert+Commit case also in every case it is updating the same row and not inserting a new row.
    Is there anything I am missing?

  • Creating a New Row Using an ADF Iterator Binding without primary key value

    I dropped a Create action onto a DataAction which forwards to a UIX entry page which contains an enabled Commit button. Part of the primary key value is held in a session bean and it is also current in another view on the model side, but I am unable to access this value to set the EntityImpl primary key attribute.
    Upon submission the following error message is returned from the model:
    ORA-01400: cannot insert NULL into ("GTR"."EMPLOYMENT"."ACCOUNT")
    I would like to accomplish this with databinding and not create a custom create method on the application model. Is there a way to update the binding value for the new row in cache before the submission? Any advice would be welcome.

    I should add that I want the user to enter every attribute value, except for the account number. It must be possible to create a new row and have the account number supplied to the bindings another way.

  • CreateInsert puts the new row at the top or second to the last

    Dear All,
    Just one question, is it possible to configure that when you create a new row in an
    editable table, it will be place at the end of the rows of the table?
    Use Case:
    I have a view object coming from the HR schema's Departments table.
    I then dropped this page as an editable table and enabled row selection.
    To add new row, I drag the create insert option as a button.

    I then tried to click the last row, but when I click the CreateInsert, it is appended before the last row.
    How can I configure this so that it will show at the last row?
    Thanks.
