#CreateODBCDateTime()# and Dev. Toolbox

The following message was also posted to the Dreamweaver
forum, so I apologize for the duplication. But so far no responses
there.
I am using CS3 and newly added Dev. Toolbox. I created an
insert record form using Toolbox and it looks great. My problem is
this: I am working with an Access db (No that's not the entire
problem, but it is the root. hehe) Anyway, I have three fields, one
for an event date, one for the event time, and one for the event
name. The wizard did pick up that the two fields in the db are date
fields, however... if you have ever worked with Access you know the
date must be run through #CreateODBCDateTime()# before it can be
inserted. I am not familiar with all the stuff the wizard put in
the page and have so far been unable to determine where I can use
the ODBC function prior to insertion. Is there anyone out there
familiar with the wizard code and how to modify it? All the
validation and transaction stuff is stuff I haven't coded before
and I think where my understanding problem lies. Thanks in advance
guys.

Thanks for the reply Ian. I didn't place code here in case
there wasn't anyone who could help. Also, the page has no
<cfquery...> block wihch I was surprised. I wrote a working
page from scratch which does, but the Toolbox used totally
different behaviors to accomplish the insert. What I did find out
is that the Toolbox code does work, but you must enter the date and
time data in specific and proper format. I'll create a pop-up help
for the users to explain that. So, the bottom line is that the
Toolbox works like it should and is a totally awesome add on to DW
CS3.

  • Process for separate Prod and Dev enviroments

apologies for the newbie question....currently I have 1 SSAS instance with Cube , measure and dimensions and DB which is Prod and Dev at the same time (most likely Dev with
    no Prod).
Now when business users started using Cubes, I'd need to add Prod instance and separate Prod and Dev.
what 'd be the best approach?
1 - should I just copy and reuse the latest version of SSAS project in Visual studio, and reuse this project as PROD and have another Project as DEV?
    2. how do I apply Dev changes to Prod?
    3. re backup - is it enough to backup VS (Visual studio) project/solution definitions?

Ideally you need to have two instances i.e DEV and PROD. Now since you have a server which client is already using, you need to create another instance wherein you can install SSAS services. If you want to extract the structure of your cube then you can
use Import option. Once you get your cube structure and database on another new server you can use that as a DEV or PROD as per your convenience.
    http://aniruddhathengadi.blogspot.com/2011/09/create-analysis-services-project-based.html
    Another question is how to deploy changes;
So if you are doing any development on DEV server and you want that to deploy on PROD server then you can extract the cube XMLA from DEV server cube copy and deploy that on PROD server. You need to process cube once you deploy your XMLA on PROD.
There are some other options of deployment available which you can check.

  • BW Sand Box and Dev on single Server

    Hi friends,
Is there any issues, if the Sand Box and Dev server on single System with different client ids for BW (NW2004s BI7.0)?

No issues as long as you partition the server with the 2 systems

  • Test and Dev configuration choosing between servers

Need to create 2 node setups for Test and Dev utilizing 3 servers
    Server A - 8GB ram, 146GBx2 hd, 4 core 1.2GHz process.
Server B - same as above
    Server C - 8GB Ram, 146GBx16 hd, 4 Dual corex1.2 GHz process
What I was thinking was to make Server A and SErver B as the Apps Tier and server C to host the DB tier for both server A and server B
Server A - Hosting Test App Tier
Server B - Hosting Dev App Tier
Server C - Hosting DB tier for TEst AND DB tier for Dev
There are other combinations also possible. Do let me know if you feel some other permutation might be useful and why?

    Sunil,
Since you have limitation in space on Server A and Server B, I believe the above should be the best configuration. If your database size is small and/or if you can manage to add more space to Server A and Server B, then I would suggest you have the TEST instance on Server A, C and DEV instance on Server B, C as follows:
    - Test instance: Application on Server C, and Database on Server A
    - DEV instance: Application on Server C, and Database on Server B

  • Transporting Process Chains from Production DOWN to QA and Dev

    Hello,
We have a ton of Process Chains in Production.  I am looking for the easiest and most efficient way to duplicate those in QA and DEV.
What steps do I take to Transport them DOWN to the other two environments?  Are there any pros or cons to doing this, or is it easier in the long run to just re-create them in those environments?  Like I said, we have a ton!  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
The best practice is to have every development done in Dev then transport to QA and then to P.
If you are not following this process for PC you should.
Also, every now and then QA should be refreshed (meaning, copy P to a new QA system and by doing so all the data and config (including PC) will be in the QA system).
I would recomend to recreate the PC in DEV and transport them thru the landscape.  This way you have the correct process where every Development is starting on the DEV sys and moves to QA->P.

  • IDES and DEV

    Hello All,
Pls any one or Mr.reddy tell me what are the difference steps
in installing( ECC6.0) IDES and DEV server
    or tell some related information

Are you asking about installing an IDES system on the same server as a DEV system? The only difference between installing an IDES system and a non-ides system is the install media (check out the downloads area for ides [here|http://service.sap.com/ides])
    Hope that helps.

  • SAP-JEE, SAP_BUILDT, and SAP_JTECHS and Dev Configuration questions

    Hi experts,
I am configuring NWDI for our environment and have a few questions that I'm trying to get my arms around.
I've read we need to check-in SAP-JEE, SAP_BUILDT, and SAP_JTECHS as required components, but I'm confused on the whole check-in vs. import thing.
I placed the 3 files in the correct OS directory and checked them in via the check-in tab on CMS.   Next, the files show up in the import queue for the DEV tab.  My questions are what do I do next?
    1.  Do I import them into DEV?  If so, what is this actually doing?  Is it importing into the actual runtime system (i.e. DEV checkbox and parameters as defined in the landscape configurator for this track)? Or is just importing the file into the DEV buildspace of NWDI system?
    2.  Same question goes for the Consolidation tab.    Do I import them in here as well?
    3.  Do I need to import them into the QA and Prod systems too?  Or do I remove them from the queue?
    Development Configuration questions ***
    4. When I download the development configuration, I can select DEV or CON workspace.  What is the difference?  Does DEV point to the sandbox (or central development) runtime system and CONS points to the configuration runtime system as defined in the landscape configurator?  Or is this the DEV an CON workspace/buildspace of the NWDI sytem.
    5.  Does the selection here dictate the starting point for the development?  What is an example scenarios when I would choose DEV vs. CON?
    6.  I have heard about the concept of a maintenance track and a development track.  What is the difference and how do they differ from a setup perspective?   When would a Developer pick one over the over?
    Thanks for any advice
    -Dave

    Hi David,
"Check-In" makes SCA known to CMS, "import" will import the content of the SCAs into CBS/DTR.
    1. Yes. For these three SCAs specifically (they only contain buildarchives, no sources, no deployarchives) the build archives are imported into the dev buildspace on CBS. If the SCAs contain deployarchives and you have a runtime system configured for the dev system then those deployarchives should get deployed onto the runtime system.
    2. Have you seen /people/marion.schlotte/blog/2006/03/30/best-practices-for-nwdi-track-design-for-ongoing-development ? Sooner or later you will want to.
    3. Should be answered indirectly.
    4. Dev/Cons correspond to the Dev/Consolidation system in CMS. For each developed SC you have 2 systems with 2 workspaces in DTR for each (inactive/active)
    5. You should use dev. I would only use cons for corrections if they can't be done in dev and transported. Note that you will get conflicts in DTR if you do parallel changes in dev and cons.
    6. See link in No.2 ?

  • ImageCLASS D1120 Windows 8.1 driver issues and MF Toolbox problems

I'm having some real problems getting several imageCLASS series multifunction units to work in the windows 8.1 x64 environment.  most recently, I've been working with a D1120, and I can't get it to do any more than print reliably - no scan functionality at all.  I realize there are two issues here, so I'll try to break them apart as best as possible.  For reference purposes, i'm running windows 8.1 on a 64-bit system.  I was able to download the correct drivers and program from the canon website, and extracted them with no issue.
On the driver problem, I tried using the instructions found in this link, but windows went ahead and installed the 2009 series drivers regardless.  It's connecting via USB, and doesn't give me any option to update the drivers once "installed".
On the MF Toolbox problem, I've gotten it to do one one scan job, and then it starts throwing a variety of error messages at me.  First, it will say there is a data transfer error.  Then it will say there are no documents in the queue.  Then it will simply lock up and not start the scan job at all.  I tried using the instructions in this link, but didn't get anywhere.
Any way you can help on one or both of these issues?  I have a feeling they are related somehow...
    Z

    Hi merliner.
I will be glad to assist you.
The drivers may not be installed correctly because the Windows operating system is automatically installing the driver.  First, we will need to disconnect the printer from the computer and uninstall the drivers.  Since the drivers are being installed by the Windows system, I recommend uninstalling the drivers from the 'Print Server Properties' window.  Please follow the instructions below:
    1.  Open the [Devices and Printers] window.
    2.  Left-click, one time, on the Microsoft XPS Document Writer or the Send To One Note devices.
    3.  Click Print Server Properties in the Menu Bar.  (You will see "Add a device", "Add a printer", "See what's printing" and "Print server properties".)
    4.  Click on the [Drivers] tab.
    5.  Select the Canon drivers, then click [Remove].
    6.  Select "Remove Driver and Driver Package".
    7.  Click "OK".  (You may receive a message stating that the Package could not be removed.  This is fine.  As long as the driver is deleted from the list, you can continue.)
Once the drivers are deleted, restart the computer.  After the computer restarts, and leaving the USB cable disconnected, please follow the instructions below to install the drivers that you downloaded from the Canon USA website:
The file that you download from the Canon website is .ZIP file.  When you select [RUN], it unpacks the setup folder.
    1.  Please open your [Downloads] folder.
    2.  You will see two icons with the name: D1170_1150_1120_MFDrivers_W64_us_EN.exe . Double-click on the yellow folder icon with this name.
    3.  In the folder you will see two listings for [Setup].  Double-click on the [Setup] that has the type as [Application].
    4.  The "MF Drivers Setup Wizard" will open.  Proceed through the steps and restart the computer.
After restarting the computer, connect the USB cable and allow the installation to complete.  Finally, scan a document by following the instructions below:
    1.  Verify that MF Toolbox is closed on the computer and press the [SCAN] button on the printer.
    2.  The screen will show, "Scanning mode...".
    3.  On the computer, open the MF Toolbox and select [PDF].
    4.  Click the green [START] button on the [PDF] window.  The machine will start processing the scan.
I hope this information is helpful to you.  Should you need further assistance, please contact us at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666).

  • Connecting Oracle 9i and Dev 6i

    Dear Fellows,
I installed first dev 6i than i installed oracle 9i on the same drive but different folder and different home.
now forms are not being connected to oracle. Can you help to solve this problem?
    Thanks

Somewhere, in the Oracle menu, you should have Home Selector : try to use it to set the dev6i Home. Then you have to configure a DB alias in TNSNAMES.ORA. You can use Net Easy Configuration to do that.
Of course your DB has to be configured with the listener, and both have to be up and running.

  • Messages to /dev/sysmsg and /dev/console are displayed on the CDE Desktop

I noticed that after reboots any message sent to /dev/sysmsg or /dev/console is displayed to the CDE Desktop (wallpaper). After I log out then log back in the problem disappears. This happens in global zones only and not in a non-global (local) zone.
(the only service I see with "svcs -xv" is the Print Service)
To repeat the problem I have to do the following:
    1. Reboot (init 6)
    2. Login to the CDE as a user.
    3. Open an Xterm window, and in the windows, "su" to root
    4. Observe a "su on ..." message on the CDE desktop in big white "OBP" looking mono-spaced text.
    5. Log out of the CDE
    6. Login to the CDE as a user.
    7. Open an Xterm window, and in the windows, "su" to root
    8. Problem has disappeared, no more logging of console like messages to the CDE desktop.
As well, if I do something like this after I reboot, and on 1st log in:
    echo "Hi there" > /dev/console
    echo "Another Hello" > dev/sysmsg
I'll see both messages print to the Desktop of the CDE. If I log out and log back in, I will no longer see this kind of behavior.
    My Hardware: Sun Netra CP3260
My Software: Sun Solaris 10 5/08 Update 5 with 137137-09
    Additional info:
/etc/syslog.conf - does have a line that directs some output to /dev/sysmsg
    /etc/default/su - does list: CONSOLE=/dev/console
I did comment out the above two lines in my syslog.conf and /etc/default/su, and the behavior goes away, however this is a workaround and not a fix of the issue.
    Any ideas?

  • Query running sometimes slow and sometimes fast on both prod and dev. Help

We are running a job that is behaving so inconsistently that I am ready to jump off the 19th floor. :-)
This query that goes against one table, was just coming to halt in production. After 4 days of investigation we thought it was the resource on production box. Now we have another dev box where we were also having the same issue. This box gets updated with production data everyday. There is a 3rd box. DBA ran update statistics on the 3rd box and the job was never slow there. When we updated 2nd box (dev) with statistics from th 3rd box, the job also ran fine. So we thought we know for sure that it is the statistics that we need to up. Now for business testing, the 2nd and 3rd box got updated with data and statistics from production box (the troubled one). We thought surely we will see issues on the 2nd and 3rd box, but the job was just running fine on these boxes. As I said, the 2nd box gets updated with production data everyday. After last night's refresh this job is running long on the 2nd box again. We are really puzzled. Has any one experience anything like this before?
