Creating a ColorModel for 4 band images.

The application I am writing involves the creation of images with over 4 bands. I'm using RasterFactory.createPixelInterleavedSampleModel(int,int,int,int) to create a SampleModel and then using PlanarImage.createColorModel(SampleModel) to create a ColorModel. Problem is that this method always returns null since it cannot create an appropriate ColorModel for the SampleModel. What can I do to make this work? Is it even possible? Is there another approach to creating many-banded images? I'm new to JAI.

OK, based on your replies, I realized I just CAN'T use full-screen.  So, what I did was take PS OUT of full-screen, and resized the Photoshop window to the available space, leaving all the palettes OUTSIDE the window...  Which, now that I think about it, is essentially what I"m doing when I have dual monitors...  In this case, it looks a little funny 'cause where there's no PS window or pallette other windows show through, but it's a LOT better than having images hiding behind pallettes or worse, having the image tab behind them so I can't get to the tab!
Thanks for the ideas...  I think I've got a workaround that'll make life a little easier!

    I created a form for our band parents to fill out.  How are they able to save the forms as pdfs and be able to go back and view them?  I see the Save Submission-Enabled PDF on the Distribution page but there is no option when they go in to the first page of the form to save.
    Thank you very much for your help.

    If you are distributing a PDF using the save submission enabled pdf option, then respondents can save it using the Adobe Reader. They save it just like any other file - File menu -> save (or save icon on toolbar).

  • Creating blank space for nesting text images etc

    Hi all,
    I have a page where I have inputted a background image but i
    need to create two areas for text and images. What is the best
    method for making a white background to nest these two things?
    Basically, I need to contruct a box...
    Cheers

    You would attach the background image to the body tag so it's
    visible on
    every page.
    You then need to decide how to layout your page... be it with
    tables or
    divs.
    eg: Insert a table on the page, give it a white background
    color (or
    whatever color) center it and then add your text and or
    images into the
    cells as required.
    The following is code for a very basic centered table
    structure. Copy and
    paste it into a new DW window and see how you go. Change the
    path in the
    styles in the head of the document to show your own
    background image and
    take it from there :-)
    I have a few examples of using background images here:

  • Help with creating an action - anto fit an image in a specific pixel size

    I am trying to create an action that takes the image in question and fits it with a specific pixel dimension. Some of the images are more horizontal in orientaion (like a school bus) and some are more on the vertical end (Like a tall building) They all need to be fit within a canvas size of 260 px x 196px. They need to keep the images original aspect ratio. Is there a way to do this with a single action, or do I need to create an action for vertical oriented images and one for horizontal orientated images?
    I hope that makes sense.
    Thanks,
    Dean

    Photoshop also ships with a plugin to do that. In CS5 Adobe added an option to it to not resize images if they fit.  If you do not use that option small images will be resize up in size like the image processor script.  There was a bug in that option I do not know if Adobe fixed that bug yet they may have.  If not it easy to fix if you know a little javascript. The plug-in was changed from a compiled plug-in in CS2 and earlier to a Photoshop Script in CS3 when Adpbe added plugin support into the Photoshop Scripting feature. The plugin has built in action support so you can use it in an action. When the Action is played back no dialog will be displayed the values use while recording the action were recorded into the action step by the plugin and will be used unless you make the action interactive by turning on the steps dialog. The image processor script is not a plug-in so it can not be automated.
    The plugin is menu File>Automate>Fit Image.......

    adobe premiere elements 12 - how to create menu bar action for my inserted image button without using their movie menu theme

    forbemag
    I do not think that I am completely focused into this completely, so let us see if the following is going to help.
    You are going to need a base for your button. When you mention "image" button, I am assuming that you are using that term to differentiate between a text button and a thumbnail type button.
    The menus (main and scene) take their origin in .psd files on the hard drive and strict nomenclature and structure for Layers Palatte. And, the buttons on the menus trace back to the menu markers on the Timeline, main menu marker and order of placement of scene markers. The scene thumbnail will only appear when there is a scene marker on the Timeline to which it.
    In view of all that
    Where have you already inserted this "image (button)"...into the Layers Palette of a Photoshop document or other? Is this "image (button)" in a structured Layer Group in the Layers Palette with sublayer groups, text layers, graphic/background layer"?
    Let me give you an example
    If you have a button (with thumbnail) on the main menu and you want that to open to a specific scene in your movie, then you use a main menu marker on the Timeline at the spot that you want that button to target.
    If I am getting closer to what you seek, then please further clarify the DVD navigational envisioned scheme.
    Thanks.

  • Creating a script for inserting images

    I am new to the scripting concept, so please forgive me when I use incorrect terminology.
    I would like to create a script that will automatically place images in my InCopy document. Basically I want to type the names of image files in an InCopy document then run a script that will replace the name of the file with the actual image (either as an embedded image or as an image in a graphics frame, although the graphics frame might not work if the document isn't linked to an InDesign document.)
    I'm assuming I'd have to identify the image name in some way (slashes or something before and after) and during the script I'd have to identify where to find the given images, such as which folder they are in.
    Is this possible in InCopy?
    Eventually, these InCopy documents will be used in InDesign. Would it be better/faster to use a script to import these images into InDesign instead of InCopy?
    (In case the information is important, the images are all either .tif files or .eps files.)
    Also, how do I find someone who can write this script for me? I'm assuming there are freelance programmer people out there... how do I find one?
    Thanks for any advice/help you can give me!

    although i ran GBX6 under 10.5.8, i do believe an intel processor is required. that means that the only complete solution would be a new computer, i'm afraid.
    the best you could do is export each track as an audio file from GBi and drop them into your GBX project

  • Creating DataLocationId for import into images tables

    I would like to ask if someone has working code to create a DataLocation when importing pictures into the Images table using the Java API.
    I´ve already worked out that this is a hierarchical structure and i´ve to create an entry for every component of my filename.
    Take this example:
    fileserverpath1path2 ile.txt
    I´ve to create node
    fileserver, path1, path2 where path1 is a child of fileserver and path2 a child of path1.
    For every node during creation, i´ve to set the DataLocationType which is one of
    static int      COMPUTER_LOCATION
              A particular computer location.
    static int      DIRECTORY_LOCATION
              A directory location type.
    static int      LOCAL_FIXED_DEVICE_LOCATION
              A local fixed device such as a local drive.
    static int      PHYSICAL_LOCATION
              A non computer location, such as postal address.
    static int      REMOVABLE_MEDIA_LOCATION
              A removable media device such as disk on key.
    static int      ROOT_LOCATION
              Root of tree, doesn't represent a location.
    static int      SHARED_FIXED_DEVICE_LOCATION
              A shared directory on another computer.
    The problem is, that for the above example, i used COMPUTER_LOCATION for the
    fileserver component and DIRECTORY_LOCATION for the remaining components. But i get an unspecified server error when trying this.
    However, if i import a picture from this path using the MDM Data Manager everything is fine and if a look at the entries created (using the RetrieveGroupTree Command) all entries have type DIRECTORY_LOCATION. Strange. I tried setting this type also for the
    fileserver part of the path but this gives also a unspecified server error.
    I would really appreciate some working code fragment.

    Don't know if this helps you or not, but I found a work around. Instead of using the "Export" option, I used "Send to" and selected iDVD. It exports the Keynote presentation as a Quicktime movie with very high video and audio settings, which means a larger file size, but Final Cut seems to recognize the file now. This is not a proper way of doing it, so I will keep a close eye out for other responses to this thread. I'm sure the problem has to do with a specific set of export settings that you have to change, but I tried a bunch and none of them seem to work. This "Send to" technique seems to do the job (though you have to go through the hassle of quitting iDVD once you have the QT file on your desktop.)

  • What ppi should each image have PRIOR to importing to Lightroom, for creating a BOOK for Blurb?

    I am creating a book for publication with Blurb and all of my images have an exclamation point in the upper right hand corner.  Each has a different message as to what the ppi is and what it will print at.  All of my images are 300 dpi and 1000px at their largest side. What am I doing wrong?  My understanding is for print, 300 dpi is the best HQ resolution. Will I need to resize all in Photoshop and start over and if so, what is the best size for such a project?  Thank you.
    Amanda Wyn

    Your problem is in the 1000px max, not the 300 ppi. 1000px photos are just good enough for small prints. There is no point in trying to print such small files, you need bigger than that, To find out the print dimensions just divide the number of pixels by the print resolution (the usual 300 ppi, but 240 ppi is usually enough for a quality print) . So you'll get a little more than 3.3 in if printed at 300 ppi, 4.1 in @ 240 ppi.

    Can anyone tell me what is the best way to cloning the application from different environment, the test and production are in different physical server.
    Can I just tar the weblogic file system and untar it to the new server and make the necessary changes?
    Can anyone share their experiences and how to with me?
    Thank in advance.

    Hi Katherine,
    yes and no . You need as well weblogic + soa files as the database schemas (soa_infra, mds...).

    im trying to make a simple 360 rotation for a 3d logo in CC 2014 but when i tried to create the 1st key frame the image when out axis

    I find that if you have multiple 3d object  they must be merged into a single 3d layer their positions reset to align to the same axises then sized and positioned along them. The layer should then be able to be animated well around an axis like the y axis. Here a Sphere, Cylinder and ring. http://www.mouseprints.net/old/dpr/McAssey-CC.mp4

  • Can I use Indesign to create an ePub for iPad with expandable images?

    Hello everyone!  I'm creating a book for iBooks on the iPad.  It is a basic book that has short chapters of text with pictures. Reading Terry White's, the Adobe evangelist, blog I saw that his attempt with InDesign seemed straight forward, without a need for html skills (which I don't have.)  So I would make the investment in InDesign if it is suitable.
    BUT! I would like to add an extra feature that I have seen in some iBooks: When  you double-tap an image the text disappears and the image expands and  fills the page. And when you double-tap the image again it goes back to  normal. Can this be done in InDesign? How?
    I'd appreciate any help.
    Thank you!

    Size your image so that the longest dimension is 1024 pixels.
    Screen size of iPad is 1024 x 768.
    In iBooks, when a user double-taps on an image, iBooks will open the image in full-screen view and scales the image to its largest dimension.
    In normal book view, iBooks displays all images at their maximum size unless they're larger than the iBooks page, in which case they are displayed to the max width or height of the page (until double-tapped on).
    You can constrain the image size in iBooks with certain HTML coding. (Unlike other epub display software and devices, iBooks ignores CSS height and width instructions unless you make specific use of a <div> tag.)
