Creating a Line Graph in a JSP...

ive got to create a simple line graph (ability to have a title, xaxis, yaxis labels, plus label the data on hte x and y axis). right now the yaxis date is stored in an array of doubles and the xaxis just increment by 1. im having problems finding such a thing on the internet that doesnt depend on other classes or beans besides teh ones built into the jdk. i can have no other 3rd party software, is there anything like this out there? any java functions? thanks.
Adam.

  • Creating multiple Line Graph having common values..

    Hi...
I've created one application process for creating Multiple Line Graph.
And i've integreted two tables in this graph, where values may be common for both the tables. In this case, for common values, instead of getting overlapped I'm getting scattered graph(its totally abnormal). Please help me if you 've any idea about this issue.....?
Please go through the App Process and the output of the SQL query.
In output of the query, in the NAME column "Feb-2010" is common.
This is the SQL query OUTPUT:_

That is one surefire way to not get any help and certainly not urgently. I suggest that you amend the title of your post to something that reflects the actual issue. This will also help anyone with similar issues to find the thread.
When posting code please put {noformat}{noformat} (with the curly brackets and the word code in lower case) above and below it to preserve formatting like this...

  • How do i  create a line graph and scatterplots graph in numbers?

hi fellow mac users, i am taking a biology class and i have to create a graph, the only problem is i dont know where to begin. I would love your advice and ideas on how to do so.THE OTHER TYPES OF GRAPHS THAT I HAVE TO MAKE IS A LINE GRAPH     SCATTER PLOT    BAR GRAPH   AND    A  PIE CHART.  if yall could help me that would be great. (a list of steps will help me alot)

    HI izzie,
As well as the link in Wayne's post, you can get the Numbers '09 User Guide through the Help menu in Numbers.
Besides Chapter 7, which deals with your current question, I would strongly suggest reading at least the first four chapters of the guide for a good grounding in the basics of using Numbers.
    Regards,
    Barry

  • Create a line graph on EP 7.0

We are trying to create a complex line graph in the portal which will pull data from SAP ISU. What is the best approach to developing this graph? Is SAP Chart Design suitable for creating a complex graph from scratch?
    Any help would be appreciate.

U can open any one of this as per ur like and edit.
Well, you cannot edit the standard delivered themes. You will need to make a copy of the standard one and edit that custom copy.
Besides the theme editor in the portal, there is a tool called Eclipse theme editor which can come in handy to create/modify a theme. You can download this tool and the corresponding guide at the following location:

  • How do I create a line graph in numbers if my y values are in minute/second format?

When I try clicking line graph, it shows me an empty graph.....no data on it.....just an x and y axis

Convert your Duration values to numerical equivalent using DUR2MINUTES. Chart the values in the converted column, as shown:
Chart 1: Result when cells containig duration values (column C) are selected and charted.
Chart 2: Result for same type of chanrt with same rows of column D are selected.
    D2, and filled down: =DUR2MINUTES(C)

  • Relative Time Scale for X-Axis when creating a Line Graph in CS3?

Is there a way to get the APPROPRIATE RELATIVE scale for the X-Axis (Category) when you're using dates?
    Example:
If this is my data set:
                        Group A          Group B
    01/03/99                1                5
    01/04/99                11                3
    01/05/99                6                12
    11/27/07                63                54
If I plot this in Xcel, by default, each date (x-axis) will be spaced the same distance apart. However, there is a checkbox to "time-scale" the X-Axis which will place the dates relative to one another. In other words, if we're talking about a bar graph, the first three bars would be close together on the left side of the chart, and the 4th bar would be waaaaaay on the right side of the graph.
So, below, if 'x' is a bar, I keep getting this in CS3:
    I want to get this:
    Get it?

Is there a way to get the APPROPRIATE RELATIVE scale for the X-Axis (Category) when you're using dates?
    Example:
If this is my data set:
                        Group A          Group B
    01/03/99                1                5
    01/04/99                11                3
    01/05/99                6                12
    11/27/07                63                54
If I plot this in Xcel, by default, each date (x-axis) will be spaced the same distance apart. However, there is a checkbox to "time-scale" the X-Axis which will place the dates relative to one another. In other words, if we're talking about a bar graph, the first three bars would be close together on the left side of the chart, and the 4th bar would be waaaaaay on the right side of the graph.
So, below, if 'x' is a bar, I keep getting this in CS3:
    I want to get this:
    Get it?

Note that each Branch_Desc has 12 periods called CURRPERIOD,CURPERSUB1,CURPERSUB2 ...... and 12 values for those periods as VALUECURRENTPERIOD, VALUECURRENTPERIODSUB1, VALUECURRENTPERIODSUB2......
I need to create a Line Graph for each Branch for the 12 periods as defined above where VALUECURRENTPERIOD, VALUECURRENTPERIODSUB1 etc. are the values for that period. The current BIPublisher Chart tool only allows one Value and One Label. In my case I have 12 VALUES (VALUECURRENTPERIOD etc.) and 12 LABELS (CURRPERIOD, CURPERSUB1 etc.). The SERIES or LEGEND should be the Branch Desc . So what I am looking for is to plot values(12 values) for 6 branches (so six lines) over a period of time (12 periods).

    Hi Tim,
We have this XML data calculated from several tables where the layout was in the format of One account(a Branch in this case) and 12 periodic values for the same . So reformatting the XML is not going to be easy as the source data is like this itself. I tried un-pivioting the table (as this one is already pivoted) but it looks like Oracle doesn't support this feature yet, but is suported in DB2 or SQL. Please take a look at this link
    http://blogs.ittoolbox.com/database/technology/archives/unpivot-query-12798?close=true
So I am stuck with the data in this format and users want a line graph for each branch over he period of time. May be somone on this forum can figure out how to un-pivot a table in Oracle. Thanks for your help in advance.

  • How do I change the line color in a line graph?

I used Illustrator to create a line graph. (Not my desired option as I normally import them from R and then edit, but the textbook wanted to show that you can create graphs and edit them in Illustrator)
Anyway, I did all of the editing except that I can't change the color of the line. My assignment requires me to match the textbook example and the textbook does not provide instructions on how to do it. I've done just about any method I can think of and the line still stays light gray. I'm almost willing to just give up and lose the points but something as simple as color can't be this hard, right? Right?

Whenever I try to shift+direct select it thinks I want to move the line, so as I shift + direct select and drag my mouse across the line (to highlight it all) it moves a chunk of the line and turns it into a near perpendicular line.
I found the appearance window, it just says "Path" (the color I want it to be that it's not)
    "Stroke" 4pt
"Fill" (the color I want it to be that it's not)
    "Opacity": Default
And some other buttons. I think I'll try the help line tomorrow, I know I saw a customer service number somewhere and I'm only here because the chat was unavailable. This is only one of my 3 problems with my assignment so I'll search here for answers to the other two. Learning new things is rarely fun.

  • 11.1.1.5 - Measure labels are appearing in legend (line graph)

I've created a line graph in 11.1.1.5. My legend is showing a combination of the column value and the measure name (e.g. Web Sales, Direct Sales, Retail Sales). I want my legend to simply say Web, Direct, and Retail, without the appended 'Sales' measure label.
The Measure Labels tile is currently residing in the Vary Color By (Horizontal Axis) zone, along with the legend column, so I guess it makes sense that the legend column and the measure labels would both show up in the legend (although I don't think that was the case in 11.1.1.3). However, there doesn't appear to be any place into which I can relocate the Measure Labels tile so that the word Sales DOESN'T appear on the line graph. If I move the Measures Labels tile into Graph Prompts, Sections, or Group By (Horizontal Axis), the word Sales appears in those locations. If I attempt to move that tile into the Lines (Vertical Axis) box, or into the Excluded box, it won't allow being dropped there.
Switching between line, bar, and area graphs reveals the same problem in all graph types.
Is there any way to supress the display of measure labels on graphs in 11.1.1.5?

    Hi Paul,
This is the feature in 11g obiee displaying the Measue heading and dimension value... like u said right Web Sales...and so on.
Here in u case web is the value of dimension and Sales is heading of a measure.
One way is if u are not using any dimension apart from 1 dim and fact u can put measure labels in the group by axis and dimension column in the show in legend section then it will give u only web.
But if u have 2 dimension then we have to put this measure labels with either one of the dimensions in this case heading of the measure wil display.
    Thanks

  • Transparency fill in line graph data points does not copy over to Pages

I have created some line graphs in Numbers, and they look beautiful. Since some of my data overlap and I want users to be able to easily see where all data is on the graph, I have made the data points transparent on the foremost line. This allows the other line (which data points are filled in with another color) visible "through" the foremost line.
However, when I attempt to copy the graphs into Pages, the data points of the foremost line are no longer transparent - they are filled with white. Obviously, this defeats the entire purpose of using a transparency fill!
What can I do to make this work?
    Thank you,
    G. Pasarescu

    Hi Yvan,
Thank you for the tip. Unfortunately, I need to embed several of these charts into the Pages document, and cannot use Numbers instead of Pages for the document.
Interestingly, if I copy the chart from Numbers and paste it into some graphics programs (like Pixen and Pixelator), the transparency is preserved. However, pasting the same copy into other graphics programs (such as Seashore or Photoshop) somehow flattens the image, removing the transparency, and I'm back to square one.
Using a graphics program as the bridge between Numbers and Pages reduces the quality of the chart - that's why I'd like to try to make this work in Numbers / Pages.
    Thanks,
    Geoff

  • How to display no. of seconds in HH:MM:SS format on Y-Axis in Line Graph

    Hi All,
I have two columns as No. of Seconds and Date.
I want to create a Line Graph with Date on Horizontal Axis (X - Axis) and, on Vertical Axis (Y - Axis) I want to represent the No. of Seconds as HH:MM:SS format.
For example, If the DB returns No. of Seconds as 93, I want to get it on Vertical Axis as 00:01:33 (00 hours, 01 Minute, 33 seconds), If it is 145 seconds , I want to get it as 00:02:25....etc.
Can anyone please help me on this ?

Srini VEERAVALLI I already used this code and I'm getting HH:MM:SS format in Table View, but my requirement is I need to represent the HH:MM:SS format on Vertical Axis in Graph View. In Graph View by default it's considering No. of Seconds only.....
Srini VEERAVALLI, is your full name is Srinivas Veeravalli ?

  • Continuously scrolling line graph - how do you do this?

I am trying to create a line graph that scrolls to the left over time; just like a resource monitor available on the Linux platform. The graph is long and flat (horizonally) and as system resources are either used or released the graph contiuously displays this with a continuous line that moves from right to left.
Has anyone done something like this before or seen an example of something similar?
So far I have a graph displayed on a panel, but I cannot figure out how to retain the current points plotted, transform the graph to the left and continue the line from that point. I do not want to have to store all the points in an array (or Vector) and plot the entire graph each pass.
    Any clues?
    thanks,

I went ahead and just set up Arrays to cover the points on the graph and am using drawPolyline(int xpoints[], int ypoints[], int npoints) to do this. I initialized the arrays at the far right bottom point (650, 100) and increment (actually decrement) the x values each pass that I want an update. The y values actually contain useful information so that the graph changes in the vertical as well. I also increment the npoints value to make the graph creep across the graph until all points are filled. I had to delete the amount I wanted the y to change from the initial values since the far right bottom corner is (650, 100). I shift the previous plotted points in the arrays over to the left to get the graph to travel to the left.
Unless you have a better way to do this I guess I've solved my problem.

  • Line graph properties

    Hi,
    I got a table like this :
    ID - TIMESTAMP - HISTORY - FUTURE
    1 - 26 jan 2010 - 22 - 0
    1 - 27 jan 2010 - 26 - 0
    1 - 28 jan 2010 - 30 - 0
    1 - 29 jan 2010 - 32 - 32
    1 - 30 jan 2010 - 0 - 35
    1 - 31 jan 2010 - 0 - 39
    1 - 1 feb 2010 - 0 - 43
I want to create a line graph, but I need a contineous graph with on the X-axis the timestamp,
and the Y-axis first the History, and then seemlessly followed by the Future values.
Now I get at 29 jan 2010 a sort of cross in my graphic.
I mean : the future graph starts plotting at 28 jan and rising until value 32 at 29 jan, and it should stay 0 until 29th jan.
    Is this possible ?
Edited by: Facehugger on Feb 23, 2010 6:20 AM

    Hi,
    Thanks for the tip.
Now I get 1 smooth line showing both history and forecast without a 'fade out' in the middle from
history and a 'fade in' in the middle from forecast.
    This is my query :
    SELECT Measurements.OBJECTID,
    Measurements.TIMESTAMP,
    CASE
    WHEN Measurements.FORECAST =0
    THEN Measurements.HISTORY
    ELSE Measurements.FORECAST
    END
    FROM MEASUREMENTS Measurements
    But ...
How can I use 2 colors like this example :
    http://www.fraport.com/cms/media/184/184224.forecast_2020.jpg
    blue = history
    green = forecast
This is also an example of the type of graph I want to create :
    http://www.dft.gov.uk/144130/185507/209573/Road_Traffic_Forecasts.gif
So multiple lines in different colors, where some of the values are 0 (the first 10 for example).
    Thanks in advance.

There are a number of possible solutions.  Here is, IMHO, the simplest:Create a line graph.  Under the Data tab, click Advanced.  In the "On Change Of" section, put Site.  In the Show Values, put each of your Period fields. If you don't want it broken down by site, simply change "On Change Of" to either "For Each Record" or "For All Records", depending on what you want.
