Creating a normal view on semantic data

Hi there.
I have a semantic database that I would like to expose through some of our other software. The easiest way would be to create a view of the semantic data and point the software to it.
When i try
SELECT x, y FROM TABLE(SEM_MATCH( '(?x rdf:type <http://www.w3.org/2002/07/owl#Class>) (?x rdfs:subClassOf ?y)',
SEM_Models('NBEDATA'),
null,
null,
null));
I get the results returned, but trying
create or replace view dataclasses as SELECT x, y FROM TABLE(SEM_MATCH( '(?x rdf:type <http://www.w3.org/2002/07/owl#Class>) (?x rdfs:subClassOf ?y)',
SEM_Models('NBEDATA'),
null,
null,
null));
Throws an ora-00600 internal error.
ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [17046], [0x7FFCF4F7AF8], [0x7FFD260DE98], [1], [], [], [], []
Can you tell me if a view can be created on semantic data and if so how can I do it.
Cheers
Phil

Could you create a service request for this patch (bug 6688356) for the version and platform you need? (as described by rpitts in an earlier post on this thread). This patch is being created for specific customer requests and if you create a service request it will initiate the process of creating the patch for your version and platform.
The next major (non-patch) release will not have this issue.

  • Creating a Calendar View using alternative date fields

    I have a Sharepoint 2007 calendar list that includes the standard Start and End Date fields.  I also have "Suggested Start Date" and "Suggested End Date" fields that are utilized by users to recommend the Start and End Dates for
    the event.
    I can create a Calendar view that displays the events according to the Start and End dates.
    I cannot create a Calendar view that displays the events according to the Suggested Start and Suggested End date fields.
    In practice, all items are not displayed on this second calendar view that should be displayed even though you can choose these fields as Time Interval values when establishing the calendar.
    Is there a way to create a Calendar View that will use date fields other than the default Start and End date fields?
    Thanks,

    Hello,
    It seems problem with time value. Have you included time value in custom datatime column wile creating? What happens when you select "date only" from column settings?
    You can also try below suggestion to include "IncludeTimeValue" parameter in CAMl query by designer:
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/18362853/how-do-i-filter-by-today-and-time-in-sharepoint-list-view
    OR else create two more calculated column and save date only in those columns then filter by them.
    Hope it could help

  • Regarding performance of normal view and materialised view.

    I have a task to load records from a remote database (db2) tables to oracle database. I have created a private dblink in oracle to access the tables in DB2 database. Then i have created a normal view for the table say employee in oracle using the dblink and created synonym for normal view. When i do a select using the synonym emp_sy from oracle using a where clause emp_id = 10 the time to fetch the records the records performance is very poor. My question is how to improve the performance. Can i create index on a column emp_id using the synonym i.e create index emp_idx on emp_sy(emp_id). ? If created will it improve the performance. Or should i go for a materialized view.
    thanks,
    Vinodh

    If you want to load the data into your oracle database then a select is not enough. At least for the normal view solution. You must also use an Insert. If you use a materialized view, then whenever the view is refreshed it will select the data from DB2 and insert it into oracle (into the mat. view table).
    As soon as the data is loaded into oracle you can start to put indexes on it etc.

  • Creating a View with "clipped" data

    Hi all,
    I'm wondering if someone might know if it's possible to have clipped data in a view without clipping the original data that the view is drawing from.
    The problem we have is that we have a full dataset that we need to keep in a complete state (as a table in Oracle). We want to be able to create a View that will display a subset of data from this table, however, some of the objects in the full dataset cross a boundary and for these objects, we want the View to only show the part of the object within that boundary.
    I know we can clip the original layer but we ideally need to keep that layer untouched and do the clipping on-the-fly in the View. Is this possible?
    Thanks for any help you can give,
    Cheers, Paul

    Do you want to:
    create view my_clip
    as
    select a.id,
    a.attribute,
    mdsys.sdo_intersection(a.geometry,b.geometry,0.005) as geometry
    from mycliparea b,
    mytable a
    where sdo_anyinteract(a.geometry,b.geometry) = 'TRUE'
    Now this will work but to get performance you will have to do one of two things:
    1. Create a function based index. See doco or other postings in this forum for examples
    of how to do this.
    2. Change the view from an ordinary view to a materialized view. And then create
    a normal spatial index on the computed shape. (I recommend the use of
    these as against ordinary views.)
    However, Bryan is right, the problem with SDO_INTERSECTION is that it can return:
    1. Polygons;
    2. Lines;
    3. Points;
    4. Compound objects containing one or more of the above.
    If you want polygons only, then you need to extract them.
    <selfpromtion>
    I have written a set of extraction functions that do this which are available for free.
    Contact me at "spatialdbadvisor at netspace dot net dot au" or "simon at spatialdbadvisor dot com"
    </selfpromotion>
    The correct view definition using one of my functions would be:
    create view my_clip
    as
    select a.id,
    a.attribute,
    geom.ExtractPolygon(
    mdsys.sdo_intersection(a.geometry,b.geometry,0.005))
    as geometry
    from mycliparea b,
    mytable a
    where sdo_anyinteract(a.geometry,b.geometry) = 'TRUE'
    regards

  • How create animated power view reports using sharepoint list as a data source in sharepoint 2010?

    Hi All,
    I got a client requirement to create reports using SharePoint List as data source. The report should show reflection depends on values changed (I mean animation).
    I have heard about the power view/power pivot which does this kind of animations in reports.
    Can someone please guide me on creating reports which shows animations
    In power view/power pivot using SharePoint List as data source in SharePoint 2010.
    Thanks in advance.
    MercuryMan

    Hi MercuryMan,
    Yes, Power View, a feature of SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services Add-in for Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 or SharePoint 2013 Enterprise Edition, is an interactive data exploration, visualization, and presentation experience.
    It provides multiple views featuring tiles, slicers, a chart filter, and a number of visualizations, including cards, small multiples, and a bubble chart. So, we can use Power View to do intuitive ad-hoc reporting for business users such as data analysts, business
    decision makers, and information workers.
    Currently, Power View report only supports two types of data models: PowerPivot Worksheet, and data models based on Analysis Services Tabular Model or Multidimensional Cube.
    In your scenario, you can create PowerPivot worksheets using SharePoint List as data source, deploy the PowerPivot worksheet to a SharePoint Library or PowerPivot Gallery, and then generate Power View reports based on the PowerPivot worksheets on the SharePoint
    site.
    To use SharePoint List as data source in Excel PowerPivot, you can refer to the following resource:

  • Create Table/View with Validity Date Control?

    Hi,
    does anyone know the easiest way for me to create a custom view that uses validity dates to control records by time periods, similar to time constraint 1 infotypes in HR?
    For instance, if I define a table to store entries like so
    Client (Key): 100
    PSubArea (Key): C001
    Grouping (Key): 01
    End Date (Key): 99991231
    Begin Date: 18000101
    and I want to ensure that there can only be one record active on any given date, how can I prevent someone from creating a record from 20061107 - 20071107 that overlaps the existing record?
    Is there a setting I missed?
    Add conditions to generated view coding? Is there a good example?
    Thanks

  • Error trying to create a Power View report against a Multi Dimensional SSAS cube

    Hi all,
    We have installed the Power View For Multidimensional Models CTP, released last November 27 on our Analysis Server instances.  I am now trying to create a Power View report in SharePoint that is connected to a Multi-Dimensional cube.
    I have followed the instructions diligently:
    1. Install the CTP
    2. Created a data connection of type "Microsoft BI Semantic Model for Power View" (see attachment #1)
    3. Tested that the connection was valid (all is good here!)
    I then select the "Create Power View Report" option from the data connection that I created above.
    The Power View GUI appears, and then throws an error:
    Error text:
    "An error occurred while loading the model for the item or data source 'http://server/site/SalesVarianceAnalysis_MDX.rsds'. Verify that the connection information is correct and that you have permissions to access the data source."

  • A quicker way to create a materialized view?

    Hi,
    I'm new to replication and have been reading doco on it. Basically I want to set up read-only materialized views in oracle 11g.
    So on the replicated database I created a db link that points to the master db.
    Then I created a materialized view that does "select * from table@dblink" and that is forced refresh every 10 minutes.
    Problem is that the table on the master db is large and the network link is slow, so the "create materialized view" statement would take a long time to complete.
    So I think to speed up the process I would export/import the table from master to replicated db, then make this imported table a materialized view somehow.
    Is this possible, and if so, how?
    Thanks.
    Long

    If you are able to use other means (exp-imp, expdp/impdp, unload-sqlldr, externalfile etc) to copy the data faster (as a normal table in the target database), you can then use the "ON PREBUILT TABLE" clause in the CREATE MATERAILIZED VIEW statement.
    See
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14200/statements_6002.htm#i2063793
    Alternatively, you must first verify if the CREATE is slow only because of SQL Query performance on the source, rather than because of network bandwidth/latency. If query execution needs to be tuned, that would be a cleaner solution, because the Refresh can then be automatically handled by Oracle.
    Remember that you can use Materialized View Log(s) on the source tables to enable FAST Refresh's as well.

    I created a 1-to-* view link between StaticDepartments and EmpView based on the Deptno attribute.
    I added the master/detail to the AM's data model and tested, and it worked ok.
    What's different about the way you're creating the view link here?

    Do you think the database link or remote database care whether the select SQL that hits it, comes from a PL/SQL procedure, a view, a materialised view, a job or whatever else? It has no idea what/who is behind that select SQL - and nor does it care.
    As for the benefits of a view vs. a materialised view - that depends on the requirements for needing to use that foreign database's data in the local database.

  • AWM does not provide Materialized Views as potential data sources.

    Hi
    I would like to map OLAP dimensions and cubes directly to materialized views. The Oracle AWM tool, however, only displays Tables, Views and Synonyms as mapping objects and I have to indirectly map to normal views created over the materialized views.
    Why does Oracle enforce this limitation?
    Thanks
    Kind Regards
    Greg

    Greg,
    Not sure why AWM enforces this limitation, certainly Warehouse Builder does not enforce this rule (at least not to my knowledge). You could raise a bug/enhancement request with Support. However, my recommendation is to never to map directly to a source object, such as a fact table or materialized view, in AWM. This can create all sorts of problems as you move your AWM model across environments. I always suggest to my customers and consultants they create a view over their source objects and use the view within the mapping editor. It will give you more control over the flow of data into your cube/dimension since it allows you to define filters on the view.
    Hope this helps

  • It is possible create app. in APEX with semantics data?

    I´m sorry for this new thread,
    but I was looking for some information about APEX and semantic data (RDF ). But maybe I´m wrong, that I´m not found answer to my question:
    It is possible create application in APEX for the RDF data(I mean semantic data). I have DB Oracle 10.2g with semantic RDF framework. I created some test RDF database and now I need to know, If can be possible create some easy application on this RDF data in the APEX.
    If found also this topic: Semantics at Oracle Open World that the guy wrote that they planned "demo APEX with RDF data at the Oracle semantic technology".
    Does anyone know if this is possible?If it is, how? and it is this demo semantic. app ready?
    Thank you for answer.

    Hi SArbjeet
    Both are giving same..
    In view i have a button, in button action i have this code
    DATA LR_NODE TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node.
    DATA ls_data TYPE wd_this->element_node.
    data lt_data type wd_this->elements_node.
    lr_node = wd_context->get_child_node( 'NODE').
    ls_data-button1 = 'Add '.
    ls_data-name = 'Name1'.
    APPEND LS_DATA TO LT_dATA.
    ls_data-button1 = 'Add Sub'.
    ls_data-name = 'Name2'.
    APPEND LS_DATA TO LT_dATA.
    LR_NODE->BIND_TABLE( LT_DATA ).
    It creating two records. on button click of ADD, code is like this
    DATA LR_NODE TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node.
    DATA ls_data TYPE wd_this->element_node
    data lt_data type wd_this->elements_node.
    lr_node = wd_context->get_child_node( 'NODE' ).
    ls_data-button = 'SUB.'
    ls_data-name = 'name3'.
    APPEND LS_DATA TO LT_dATA.
    LR_NODE->BIND_TABLE( LT_DATA ).
    LR_NODE->BIND_TABLE(
    NEW_ITEMS = LT_DATA
    SET_INITIAL_ELEMENTS = ABAP_TRUE ).
    This code is adding one record, but instead of old records, but i want this record as third one. how to do this???
    My output is like this..
    After first button action 2 row like
    ADD(button) - Name(text view) - value(input).
    SUB(button) - Name1(tv) - Value(ip).
    After clicking ADD button at first row i want output like this
    ADD(button) - Name(text view) - value(input).
    SUB(button) - Name1(tv) - Value(ip).
    ADD1(button) - Name2(TV) - value(ip).
    but i am getting only--- ADD1(button) - Name2(TV) - value(ip).
    Thanks,
    Kris.

    Please help me
    Thanks
    Kumar

    Hi Kumar,
    If you are using EP7.0, there is no calendar UI element in webdynpro development. There is only date navigator UI element. This is demonstrated in the below article.

  • Creating and Binding View Objects dynamically : Oracle Jdeveloper 11g

    Hello,
    We are trying to create and bind view objects dynamically to adf data visualization components.
    The view object is a result of multiple tables.
    We are using Oracle JDeveloper 11g Technical Preview. ( can't upgrade to TP2 or TP3 now).
    We have found this : http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2003/07/15/creatingUpdateableMultientityViewObjectDefinitionsDynamically.html on our search for the same.
    The sample application however, is in 10g , hence required migration.
    Also, it was a standalone application with the TestClient.java having a main() method.
    Our requirement is for Web Application; we use Adf+jsf .
    Guidance of any sort is very much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    there also exist a forum for JDeveloper 11: JDeveloper and OC4J 11g Technology Preview
    What you are trying todo is not trivial because you need to not only dynamically create the VO, you would also dynamically need to create the binding meta data for it (assuming you use ADF). Not sure if the API to modify the binding is public, so posting it on the JDeveloper 11 forum bears a glimpse of hope for an answer
    In JDeveloper 10.1.3 you can't do this
