Creating a query issue

Hi
I am trying to create a new query by selecting the plant and a calculated key figure and when I tried to save the query, I encounter the following error message:
Error When Saving
The query could not be saved due to a problem in transport
BEx transport request is not available or not suitable
Choose an existing request
How do I rectify this issue.

Check is there any bex request exist,
Try this ,
RSA1->Transport Connection->click 'create bex request' and assign with package,then logoff BEx and login again then try to save the query.
or
The BEx transports behave differently than your other typical transports. Once a query has been assigned to a transport and transported across the landscape, any changes to that query cannot be carried out without having a BEx transport created.
So you will have to create a "BEx Transport" which will then automatically collect all the changes that you do to the queries that have already been transported. A note of caution is needed here as it will be including all the objects by all the users who happen to even open the queries at the time when the transport is active. So it has to be properly coordinated and released immediately if you dont want other changes to be tagged along.

Error shown after creating a query in BI analyzer

"A critical program error occurred. The program has to close. Please refer to the trace for further information."
This error is shown while i try to execute the query after i have created a query using the BI contents that i activated. However, i am not sure if there is an error while creating the query or not. I just started learning BI analyzer and SAP logon. Any help will be useful =)

Unable to create new query using query manager

Hi friends,
I have been trying to create a query using query manager for couple of hours but still not able to.I am following the instructions given in oracle Peopletools 8.52 : Peoplesoft query
Chapter - creating new queries.
Below are the steps I am going through to create new query:
Step - I open the component Reporting Tools-> Query->Query Manager , I don't get the tabbed pages one for search an existing query and another for create new query.

Step 2 - When I click on create new query link, I am redirected to a page where it asks for record name to add in the query. But, even this page is not displayed as how it supposed to be

Step 3 - Following the above step, when I click on Person record to add into my query I am asked to select the fields that I want to display in the output.
But I somehow do not get the proper tabbed pages where individual pages are there to add the attributes to complete the query like adding multiple records, fields, query, expressions, prompt...etc

I am neither able to select multiple records in my query nor able to customize my query to get the desired results.

As I cannot access your screenshot by the blocking of company firewall rules.
I'm guessing currently you are using PT 8.52.00 version, correct?
This should be a bug, that you need to apply the 8.52.0X patch, not sure which patch fix this, you can apply the latest one to solve this issue for no tab page of query manager. (PT 8.52.06)

Web Query issues

Hi All,
I have created a web query and assigned it to a role. I have moved the role, web templete and the query from dev to QA was able run the query fine without issues.
The problem I am having is when I make changes to the query and transport it to QA...when I run the query from the role menu it still shows the old query instead of the changed query.
Can someone please explain what are the steps I need to take when I make changes to exsisting web query in dev and move to QA and be able to see the changes. What are all the objects I need to collect. Also would like to know if there are any settings on the role menu or web templete that need to be changed and also any buffers that I need to cleared??

Creating a query in a collection - SCCM 2012

I've got a weird issue and was hoping you techies could shed a light.
I'm trying to create a script that makes a query into a collection with input from a CSV file. (this is a part of a bigger script, but this is what I'm having trouble with at the moment).

This is a multi-tenant environment so each customer has their own child domain. For example lets say that my root domain is contoso.com and my childdomain is test (and thus test.contoso.com).
That is why I've created $QueryPath, which results in: test\groupname (The same as when I do it manually)
However the problem is when I execute this script it simply does not create the query.
I don't get an error or what so ever.
When I change $QueryPath to $ApplicationDL (resulting in just 'groupname' without the domain prefix) it actually does create the query but at that point it is not functional because it needs the domain prefix of the child-domain.
Any help is much appreciated.

Input ready Query - Issue

Hi gurus,
We are on Stack 14 Bi 7.0 and when I create a query on Query designer and try to switch to Plan mode , it appear by defult in dis[play mode.
Even on a key figure to enable it plannble all options appear in display mode . i cannot select Data Can be changed usineg planning functions .
Is it an authorization issue or an isntallation issue , can some body help pls

MultiCube Query Issue

I created a MultiCube based on 2 DSO.
DSO1 has following information.
MATERIAL    COMPONENT         PROD QTY

DSO2 has following information

I created a query, which shows results as follow
I Created a formula TARGETQTY, which is FACTOR * QTY. The query shows me following results

I WANT TO SHOW RESULTS AS BELOW

Hi,
I am afraid to say your MultiProvider will not solve your issue,if your Target Qty is based on multiplication of two different ODS keyfigures. Becasue MultiProvider is only for union ,not for joining .You cannot combine two fields of the ODS in multiprovider. I suggest in this case you can either go for look-up which means reading the data from the second ODS into first ODS based on the combination of the keyfields or the infoset(i'm not sure, though)
After the look-up the data is available in only one ODS and you can create a formula based on that.

How to create the query with multiple node types

Hi,
I am having an issue in creating a query to search multiple node types.
The requirement is to query documents/pages of the type dam:Asset and cq:Page present under a path.
I tried the following code snippet with no luck .
path=/content
1_type=cq:Page
2_type=dam:Asset
property=jcr:content/metadata/@cq:tags
property.1_value=<tag Name>
I was able to write a query with single type. However i could not find any documents/ materials with multipe types as shown above.

I don't think multiple type is possible. Instead use super type like nt:base that will cover both page and asset.

Unable to create Spotlight query for expression

I don't want to assume that the following Console Log entry is a Spotlight indexing issue since the PID is from MAIL however the following entry appears repeatedly every minute to five minutes:
"12/1/10 6:33:01 PM Mail[2698] Unable to create Spotlight query for expression ([email protected]) && (kMDItemContentType == 'com.apple.mail.emlx' || kMDItemWhereFroms == 'message:*'w)"
Why would Mail try to create a Spotlight query like this, why so often, and where should I look to correct or remove the offending source?
BTW, the noted email address has been changed for privacy. Otherwise the syntax is exact.

I, too, have been seeing this same error ever since I started syncing my mail via .mac or whatever they call it these days. The whole experience has been so problematic that I've discontinued using it, but it's taken me weeks to clean up the disaster it's made of my multiple computers.
This issue seems to be one of the last remnants of the whole debacle, and I'd love to hear any suggestions on how to clean it up without having to do complete wipe/reinstall of everything, which is pretty much all that's left to try.

Authorization: create a query view in Production

We are on BI 7.0 and we have some queries in Production...the issue here is 2 users want to create a global Query View and saved it under a some Role ....
how should the authorization in PFCG can be done....
Right now
1) In PFCG I created a Role where in Included those 2 Users
2) Under authorizations Tab ---> change authorization
i have a profie for Business information warehouse under that BEx - components ..
I put the infocueb name , name of the reporting component...type of reporting comp - I choose Query View..
Is anything else we have to do ...coZ the user still cannot create a query view in production.

In case of BW 3.5, you have two transactions for management authorization: Maintains Roles (PFCG) and Reporting Authorizations Object (RSSM).
In Maintains Roles (PFCG) you can setup the role profile, create, add authorization object and setup.
In Reporting Authorizations Object (RSSM) you can setup the authorization by characteristics which you need restrict by value, also you can access to RSRT transaction where you simulate the query execution, after that, you come back to RSSM transaction and select Authorization Check Log to see the output execute. The difference between 7.0 is which you need to access with specific user in other word, if you need to test user 1, you could access in BW 3.5 with this user 1 and run RSRT, then you check output in RSSM Authorization Check Log.
Into your role you should have the following authorization object:
S_RS_FOLD for see folder InfoArea.
S_USER_AGR activity 01,02 and 22 and role name
S_USER_TCD transaction code RRMX
And
S_RS_COMP activity 03 and 16, InfoArea, InfoCube, Name of Reportign, Type.
S_RS_ICUBE activity 03 and 16, InfoCube Data, InfoArea, InfoCube.
Into the role after you assign authorization object created in RSSM, you should setup the value of each characteristic selected for the object.

QUERY HELP!!! trying to create a query

i'm creating a summary report
i have a table with sale dates
for example i have a table tab_1 and column saleDate as
saleDat
1923
1936
1945
2003
2005
saleDate contains years and there are some missing years where no sale
was made
My report has to display years starting from earliest year
so i have to create a query that starts with 1923
but the problem is that I have to have years that are not in table.
for example i have to display years 1924 which is not in table
so the part of report has to look like
1923 blah blah summary.........
1924 "
1925
1926
2005
2006
upto current year (2006 may not be in the table, but i have to display)
i just need to know the query that can query all the years starting from
the ealiest saleDate to current year

Please write the query in the following form:
SELECT a.year, --- place other columns from your table.
FROM (SELECT (:start_num + rownum) year
FROM all_tab_columns
WHERE :start_num + rownum <= :end_num) a,
tab_1 b
WHERE a.year = b.saleDat(+);
Note:
1) if your start year and end year are 1923 and 2006. Then input as below:
:start_num = 1922
:end_num = 2006
2) Since for some of the years (1924 etc) may not be there in your so you may need to use NVL to print proper indicators.
3) If you have more than one record in tab_1 for a particular year then group them based year and then use it.

It is within the table I believe (I'm not a DBA or a developer) since I created a BLOB column and then used the file browse feature to allow users to attach a resume to the table in order to be able to perform a search of the attached documents.
I'm just having a hard time pointing the link in the search results report to the document in the blob column.
The information on that page is great if you're trying to create a link to the document on the initial report.
But I created a query using Oracle Text to run a report that does a boolean search of the attached word documents in the table.
When it displays the search results, it doesn't create a link to the document and I can't figure out how to do it.
Here's a link the the instructions I used to create the initial search report with Oracle Text, mind you I only created the index and query, I didn't add in all the link data since they're using documents on websites and I'm using documents in a table.
