Creating a transparent background with a SWF file for Export to Air

I have been trying to place a SWF with a transparent background into an image component and use as a background for a widget. When I place the swf (just a simple single frame swf file) and output with any other method the background works perfectly. If I output to air then the background is a white rectangle with only a progress bar the stays at 0%. I have tried to not embed it but I get a broken link icon in the same rectangle.
What am I missing? Should the swf file have some special setting that I am missing?
I am using Xcelsisus 2008 with SP1 and FP1.

While there is no means to be sure about the method in which SAP/BO creates their components. My assumption is that the component uses the WindowedApplication or an HTMLLoader object(more likely) to display each SWF file.

Creating IPA file with Multiple SWF files using ADT

Iam successfully able to create ipa files using the ADT package but my next requirement is to create an IPA file with multiple swf files.I think it might be easy if your SWF files are regular the tough part is my swf file has lot of action script in it so the only option is to through the command prompt and using the ADT package of Adobe AIR.So now i have 10 SWF files like this and iam creating ipa file for each swf seperatly but now I want to put all of the swf files into one ipa file.Please let me know if i was not clear in my description

I think you are trying to explain how to load two swf's one with action
script and loading an other swf file which should be non action script.If
you read my requirement carefully.I have all the same type of swf's and
these swf are automatically created as a form of output for xcelsius dash
board software.Iam capable of creating individialu ipa files from these swf
files.So when I try to combine the same kind of swf files the first error
its giving is the file name which I have used in the xml.in the main file
name for the swf file its not considering the two swf file name in the
initial window.so the adt package in the command line is not understanding
the file name from the xml and the command prompt and giving error this swf
file does not exist.So please consider how to combine two swf files with AS3
into one ipa file.These swf files are not editable,Let me know if you find
any idea to achieve this

Hello,
I need help with a flash demo that I am creating. I have a
main swf file that contains links to other sub swfs that I have
created. What I really want this to do is... when I click on one of
the link on the browser, the other swf have to load in the window.
I tried to code it with .loadMovie,.... but for some weird reason,
it is not showing up.
Can anyone help me on this?

you might have a security violation and you do have a
load-target issue. remove that "_parent": there's no 2nd parameter
in the loadMovie() method.
if you want to replace the main swf with that url, loading
into _root is fine. otherwise, you want to use a different
target.

Need help with combining swf files together

Hi Everyone
I have problem with my project.
I created several SWF files, now i want them to interact with each other
So there is main SWF file lets call it:
main.swf
then within that file(main.swf) i would like to create buttons which will be calling other swf files for instance by pressing one button one.swf will be open by pressing other button two.swf will be open and so on.
Then I would like to create buttons within one.swf and two.swf which will allowed to go back to main.swf
If someone could help me how to do it I will be grateful.

So the first of all my main.swf would load, within it i would have a button. If i click on button will take me to frame 40 ( just example ) where i will have this.loadMovie("first.swf"), when this file will be loaded i want to have other button with in the first.swf which will take me back to main.swf and now you are suggesting to use this.removeMovie("first.swf")?

Can't use screensaver with flash (swf file) after mavericks upgrade

Hi, I have a screensaver who reads a html file with a SWF. It works perfectly on 10.8 (and older versions) but since I passed on 10.9 Mavericks I have a white screen without my animation. In safari the html page with the animation is working well ...
Is it possible that Apple is blocking the swf file in the screensaver ? Is there a parameters to activate somewhere ?

I made the screen saver myself with xcode and i builded it in 64 bits with the last version of xcode ... When the screensaver is launching, it create a temporary html with a swf and, then reads it in a web zone. With Safary the html file works fine but in my screensaver i have a white screen.
I will check if the swf is in 32 or 64 bits (it's not me who generate the the swf file's). Thanks for the reply.

Apple dropped playback support for .swf formats in QuickTime almost ten years ago.
Adobe Flash Player is the only way to view them.

Probs with imported swf file

Hi
I have imported a swf file which is displayed correctly
within the import dialog. After clicking OK only the placeholder of
the imported animation is seen. When running the captivate movie
the swf is not diplayed. When setting the swf to synchronize to
movie all frames of the swf are displayed but don't stop where they
are supposed to do. Unfortunately this swf file was exported from
the authoring system opus xe so I don't have a chance to edit it in
flash itself.
Maybe someone knows a solution for this prob?

It sounds like the swf file may not be 30 frames per second.
I'm using v1.01 and I've had a lot of problems with swf files
loading consistently. A few times when I positioned the swf file at
the very beginning of the Captivate timeline it wouldn't load.
Moving it a half second up on the timeline fixed the
problem.

can anyone explain why a webpage with a swf file reloads on safari on every visit? it's a 1.2 MB swf file - it takes about 5-10 seconds to load but apparently doesn't get stored in the browser's cache. when you go to another page and back to the original page it loads again. (in internet explorer, once the file has loaded it is stored in the cache and doesn't repeat the loading process)

Yes, similar to your experience, Safari reloads the page on my system too, i.e. does not write it to cache. So when I backspace, the page reloads. Same, if I enter the site on a new tab after an initial load on another tab. By contrast, Firefox, on the backspace or new tab, displays the page immediately without the reload being necessary. Very nice site by the way. Very effective use of Flash content. Is it your web design?
You may find it helpful to send feedback to Apple. Perhaps, they'll change the caching, or perhaps offer it as an option, in Safari's next version due to make its debut with OS X Leopard in early 2007 (I'm an optimist - ).

I have two separate Flash SWF files which I would like upload
into the same HTML file. But I would like to load only one of them
at the time and would like to have a Button on each SWF Flash file
which causes the other SWF to be loaded.
hmmm.. I am not sure if I managed to make sense. :o) Let me
try it one more time. :o) I would like to swap one SWF file for
another SWF file by clicking on the buttons which are placed on the
SWF files! :o)
I was wondering if that is possible or I should think of
another way to get around this problem of mine.

I am need to swap Two SWF files. I am acheving this by make
one swf as a holder. call it main.fla main.swf file. Embed that
file into my html document. In that file I placed one button with
the
following action :
on (release) {
loadMovieNum("second.swf", 1);
in that file have a button with action to load the 3rd file :
on (release) {
loadMovieNum("3rd.swf", 1);
by loading them in same level (1) they will replace each
other. My problem is that my SWF files obtain some information
using combination of PHP and XML file. I have noticed when I place
the SWF with it’s required PHP and XML in separate folders
the SWF file is uploaded (swapped) but since the PHP files are NOT
run by the server my dynamically generated XML files are empty and
therefore the uploaded SWF file has not information expect the SWF
file. Is there any way to get round this problem?

Hi--I'm using AE CS5 on a MacBook Pro and I'm brand new to using AE.
How do you create a transparent background?
I need it because I'm creating a shatter effect on a photo and want to import the AE movie into FCP and have it play on one layer while beneath it another image will be seen when the shatter effect takes place.

I hope I'm on the right track, I just watched the video about preserving transparency and maybe I'm stupid, maybe cause I'm new, but I just want to be sure I'm on the right track. Sorry if my question was confusing, maybe cause I am a bit new.
To reiterate: I want to export a short AE movie of a shatter glass effect on a picture. The background needs to be transparent because I will import the AE movie into FCP and place it as the top layer. On a layer beneath it will be video I want to seen as the shatter glass effect creates a 'hole'.

TestStand with all require files for development distribution

I am using TestStand 3.5 and LabVIEW 7.1. TestStand is my ActiveX server. I make different sequences mostly using LabVIEW and some are ActiveX call.
I want to make a complete package of my TestStand sequence including LabVIEW files, dll, llb, etc used by TestStand sequence and sent it for development. Is it possible any way to do this, how?

Hi Vishal,
You can specify the install location directory for any file that's included in your workspace by selecting it and setting the Installer Properties within the Deployment Tool dialog (Deployed Files tab). In the case of LabVIEW code, if you have a top-level VI that calls a subVI, then the directory in which the subVI is stored is set under the LabVIEW options. This path is relative to the directory where you indicated to install the top-level VI. This means that the installer will create a new directory (with the given name) for supporting VIs for every VI that is to be installed in a different location.
If you just want an installer that will just copy all your files onto another system with the same file structure and directories and you have LabVIEW Professional, you can try creating a source distribution.
