Creating Actions

Is it possible to create actions in PSE 9, or do you have to the real Photoshop to do that? I know that I can install them in PSE 9, and I've found them quite useful, but I think it would be fun to create some of my own! Thanks.

Unfortunately, it's not possible to create actions with Elements, that has to be done in Photoshop.

  • Is there a way to create actions in Photoshop Elements 7

Is there a way to create actions in (or for, other than Photoshop, CS3, 4, 5) Photoshop Elements 7?

You can certainly create actions for Elements (just make sure you don't include steps, like a history snapshot, that PSE can't do), but you can't create them IN elements, only in photoshop.

  • Problems in creating actions

    hello;
i am facing a problem in creating actions i.e when i create an action it is not shown in the implementation view. even when i copied a context node from an another view i am getting error for those nodes.

    Hi jeet
Check error messages in Tasks window when you go to implementation of the view. Probably the view contains some errors with the context nodes in the case implementation will not be regenerated till you fix these base errors.

  • CS3: how to create action to add fixed text of foreground color, etc.

I'm trying to create an action and/or brush preset(?) that will:
    1) Add a fixed text string in the forground color, consistent font, size, etc.
    2) Apply a consistent Layer Style -> Bevel and Emboss setting
    3) Allow me to move the text to whatever position
    4) Change text layer opacity
    5) Flatten
At some point in the past when searching the internet I came upon a description of how to create a brush preset (I think that was it) that did at least most of this, but somehow I seem to have lost the preset and don't know how to recreate it.
    thanks,
    Mike

First it is And/or you can create both or one or the other. For in actions  and scripts you can not automate the use of a brush.
    1) Add a fixed text string in the forground color, consistent font, size, etc.
Easy if all images are the same size and a little more work if image size vary for you will need to scale the image.
If you want to scale the image back to it original scale at the end of the action you need to use a little script in the action. .
    2) Apply a consistent Layer Style -> Bevel and Emboss setting
Again easy if aoo images are the same size not posible if images vary in size for many setting in layer style are in absolute pixel size.
However layer styles will look good for a range of images sizes like Print Size or thunbnail size or small web sizes.
Therfore I create actions for print size images and work full size. if I need smaller image I work full size and resize before output.
    3) Allow me to move the text to whatever position
This is quite easy to do in an action you simply add an interactive transform step after adding the text layer.
However this is not a good idea if you want to batch the action. Interactive sort of defeats batch.
With an action it is easy to posion a layer.
    4) Change text layer opacity
Simply change the added text layers opacity and or fill and it will be recorded.
    5) Flatten
Simple just record it I don't like actions that flatten though. If you give your action to some and the use it on an image the did a lot of work on the may get very upset the your acrion flatten all their work.
Have a look at my Crafting Actions Package it cantains a sample action that add a text copyright layer to any size image.

    Hi,
Action Definition >.Action Merging : Set Highest Number of Processed Actions
    And
Action Merging Tab  > Max 1 with Selection Successful Action.
This will  allow 1 successful action only.

  • Create action with entered text?

Is there a way to create an action in PS CS3 with the ability to type different words in the middle of the action?
For ex, I have a series of steps, then need to save the image to 2 different sizes/resolutions, with a different name. So I want the action to run, stop where I type in the name for the hi-res, continue, then stop where I type in the name for the lo-res, then finish the steps desired. Is this possible?
    Thx!

Just click the 'toggle dialog' box next to the action step 'save'´to make the action stop at the save interface.

  • Create Action that delete input file after OCR

I've created an Acrobat X Pro action that OCR's all files in a given INPUT directory and then save the OCR file in an OUTPUT directory.  Is there a way to delete the file from the INPUT directory once it's processed?

    Hi,
There is a way but I would not do it. Rather than put the files to an "output" folder you can replace the original files in the "input" folder. Why not delete the original files through windows when the process is complete?

  • Need help to build a navigation from billing component BEABDS_BILLDOC to sales order component BT115H_SLSO on follow up create action

    Hello Experts,
I have been assigned to a CRM-UI Object which is basically to create follow-up action i.e. creating debit/credit memos with reference of one/multiple billing documents.
SAP has already provided an option to create the follow-up action for 1 billing document at a time, but the requirement is to create follow-up action for multiple billing documents at a time. For example, There are 2 invoices raised against a dealer "DEL" and due to some reason the dealer wants to send back the products.
Now the dealer wants to create only 1 claim/return for those 2 invoices, Which Standard SAP doesn't provide.
I did some of the development and added the 'Follow-up create' Button to the search result work area of the billing search. But could not able to build the link between the Billing and Sales order Components.
It would be really a great favor if you can guide me to build this navigation link.

    Hi Srikanth,
I believe You are trying to implement dynamic navigation..
    lv_data_collection->add( lv_descriptor_object ).
I can see lv_data_collection is not having the actual entity just the descriptor object details you are adding in the lv_data_collection..
If you don't have the context node binding between source and destination component, add the required data to lv_data_collection
, in the target component inbound plug retrieve the same data entity and set it on the relevant context node.
To get an idea, check standard component for where dynamic navigation is implemented.
    Hope this helps..
    Cheers,
    Sumit Mittal

  • Help! Using "Create" action in insert jsp page vs in submission page.

This is regarding creating a new record using data TAGS:
I'm in a dilemma as to whether I should use the data source tag <jbo:Row id="myrow" datasource="iss_vo1" action="Create">
in my first jsp page ( which accepts input from a user) or in the 2nd jsp page (which does the actual commit).
If I actually create the view record n the first page itself then I get into all kinds of problems if the user decides against saving the record and backs out.[because there is a null hanging record out there]
But if I don't use it, then I am unable to use my LOVs in the html form.
Can anyone help me resolve this issue?
Currently I have used the data source tag
    <jbo:Row id="myrow" datasource="iss_vo1" action="Create">
    in my first JSP page.
Below is my complete source code for both the JSP pages:
    Source Code for iss_add.jsp:
    ======================
Please note that in this JSP , it creates a new record and then the user has to click on the "SAVE" button (which calls another jsp "iss_add_post.jsp") to save the changes. But what if the user does not click on the save BUTTON and instead click on the "back" tab. This is where all the problem occurs. How do I get rid of this problem?
If I try to just use an HTML form without creating a record in this page then how will I use the LOVs?

I can't actually see any LOV's on your first page so I am not completely sure that I understand your situation. However if you are talking about using the InputSelectLOV datatag, there is no reason why you cannot use that within a html form, without having to create a record in the RowSet.
The Insert page is by default created without any datasources - just a standard HTML form. The form is submitted and the InsertSubmit page reads the values from the request object, matches the parameter names with your VO attribute names and does your create.
Your LOV data will be coming from another table so doing a Row tag Create on your Insert page won't make any difference to it. Have I misunderstood something here? I have used LOV's on my Insert pages and I definitely have not created a row in the Rowset anywhere but the Submit pages.
There is a problem on both Edit and Insert pages whereby if there are no rows in the table for which you have a datasource defined you can get problems, but it doesn't sound as though that is your problem. Maybe I need some more information from you?
