Creating and compiling JavaFX objects at runtime

I am interested in the possibility of creating JavaFX objects at runtime where their definition is not know until runtime and am unsure about how to do this. Clearly I will need the JavaFX Script compiler at runtime which I guess is not that much of a problem but I am looking to accomplish this within the browser context so it would mean that I need the compiler to be available as part of the standard JRE much in the same way as the JavaFX Script interpreter is to obviate the need for it to be downloaded.
Does anyone know if the JavaFX Script compiler is available as a built-in component within the latest versions of the JRE? If not, is it planned to include it in the future (JSE 7 perhaps)?
Thanks,
The Gibbon

Perhaps the thread [Dynamic Scripting, how?|http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5379268] can help.

  • Create and bind javafx objects out of java

    hello,
    iam start to learn javafx and cant find the right way to do what i want.
    the goal is: i have written a graph datastructure in java and want to parse a xml file. for every String in the xml file a new node in the graph should be created. this node holds the data and a position (2D). now evertime a node in the graph was created, a visual representation for this node should pop out in my javafx stage. when the position of the node changed the visual rep. should notice this or rather a function on this object is called (observer).
    is javafx an approach to do so? or should i use java2d?
    do you know a tutorial where i can learn how to create an call javafx objects out of java and how to put them into the stage/scene?
    i found this: http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/scripting/javafx/javafx_and_java/index.html
    but there is not mentioned how to put the object into the stage/scene.

  • Dynamically Create and Compile Java Classes

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to dynamically create and compile Java classes and would like some advice on the best method to do so.
    Basically the project I am working on involves creating "Factors". Factors are items that have both attributes and weights so for example Factor A could have attribute B with weight 0.76, and attribute C with weight 1.33. There are a number of methods common to all factors such as calculateTotal, identify etc etc.
    At the moment the application has 5 factors, but there is a requirement to dynamically add and remove factors on the fly.
    I current solution I have been considering is using XML to describe the new class, build up the class and compile it; something along the lines of what is descibed at
    http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-02-2002/jw-0201-xslt_p.html
    however i would like to consider all options.
    Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

    You want to dynamically create and compile Java classes.
    I would try the following:
    (1) Write the Source code of the new class into a text file with the name MyNewClass.java
    (2) compile this new .java-file with Runtime r = getRuntime();
    try {
        r.exec ("javac MyNewClass.java");
    } catch (IOException e) {
        System.out.println("ooops " + e.getMessage());
    } (3) somehow try to load that new class, maybe using ClassLoader cl = ClassLoader.getSystemClassLoader();
    cl.loadClass("MyNewClass");

  • Creating and Binding View Objects dynamically : Oracle Jdeveloper 11g

    Hello,
    We are trying to create and bind view objects dynamically to adf data visualization components.
    The view object is a result of multiple tables.
    We are using Oracle JDeveloper 11g Technical Preview. ( can't upgrade to TP2 or TP3 now).
    We have found this : http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2003/07/15/creatingUpdateableMultientityViewObjectDefinitionsDynamically.html on our search for the same.
    The sample application however, is in 10g , hence required migration.
    Also, it was a standalone application with the TestClient.java having a main() method.
    Our requirement is for Web Application; we use Adf+jsf .
    Guidance of any sort is very much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    there also exist a forum for JDeveloper 11: JDeveloper and OC4J 11g Technology Preview
    What you are trying todo is not trivial because you need to not only dynamically create the VO, you would also dynamically need to create the binding meta data for it (assuming you use ADF). Not sure if the API to modify the binding is public, so posting it on the JDeveloper 11 forum bears a glimpse of hope for an answer
    In JDeveloper 10.1.3 you can't do this

  • Error when dynamically creating and binding view object

    Hi,
    I'm using JDeveloper 10.1.2.1.0 (1913) to create a JSP - Struts - ADF BC application.
    I'm trying to create a lov page that is based on a viewobject whose query (and bindings) are set at runtime (like Steve Muench shows in one of his undocumented ADF samples).
    In the prepareModel() I do the following:
    -unbindRowsetIteratorFromDynamicQueryIteratorBinding(...)
    -changeDynamicViewObjectQuery(...)
    -recreateRangeBindingForDynamicQuery(...)
    -removeControlBinding(...)
    -addDynamicRangeBinding(...)
    So I remove the existing binding, change the query of the viewobejct and recreate the bindings.
    I have got most of the code running except for 1 issue:
    1. The first time I call my Lov I get the a stacktrace (included at the end of this post). If I close the window and click the Lov button again it is working fine.
    Can someone help me out with this one???
    Here is the stacktrace I am getting:

    Here is some more info:
    I can reproduce the problem using the code Steve Muench supplies in his undocumented ADF samples.
    If you add the following line to the jsp in the example code(browseResultsOfDynamicVO.jsp):
    <c:set var="rangeStart" scope="request" value="${bindings.DynamicViewObjectIterator.rangeStart}"/>You will get the behaviour I am facing.
    The first time in your session you enter a valid query and submit it you get a stacktrace. By refreshing the page it works.
    It looks like that when recreating the bindings at runtime something more is fone that isn't done at design time. So the first time the statement fails but once the bindings have been recreated at runtime it suddenly works....
    The main question is: what is it that is done at runtime and is missing at design time?

  • Generate and Compile new classes during runtime

    Hi!
    I use the Parser-Generator JavaCC to build a parser from a BNF-Grammar.
    During runtime, the user shall be able to change the
    grammar, so the Parser-Generator will build new .java-Files for the new Parser.
    Does anyone know any Java-Generic-Methods to use .java-Files in a program? Or do they have to be compiled with javac?
    Or does perhaps anyone know a Parser reading a BNF-Grammar-File and parsing according to this grammar?
    Thanks a lot for possible Help, Henning.

    Here is a link to a useful program with source code that uses javac. It creates a window and allows you to type in java source code and execute. I use it to test small java functions that I'm not very familiar with.

  • Creating and compiling new timezone

    Hi everyone,
    I have a liitle problem here with the timezone compilation (using "zic") and two questions.
    I live in Uruguay (GMT -3). This year, the authorities decided that we will have DST, going one hour forward the first sunday of october and 1 hour backward the second sunday of march.
    So, here goes the firs one:
    How do I report the new timezone with the DST changes to MAC OSX developers (or someone) so they made an update for the Montevideo - Urugay timezone ??
    And now the second:
    ... Meanwhile, I tryed to compile the new timezone myself, so I did this:
    I've made the timezone archive like this:
    #Rule NAME FROM TO TYPE IN ON AT SAVE LETTER/S
    Rule Uruguay 2006 maximum - Oct Sun>=1 2:00 1:00 D
    Rule Uruguay 2006 maximum - Mar Sun>=8 2:00 0:00 -
    #Zone NAME GMTOFF RULES/SAVE FORMAT [UNTIL]
    Zone America/Montevideo -3:00 Uruguay UY%sT
    Then, I've compiled it using zic...
    Ok, so the timezone for Montevideo - Uruguay seems to be correct now (executing the "date" command)... but when I look at the clock at the top of the screen, it appears to be one our late... but that's not all... there's more:
    If I look at the analog clock in the "set date & time" preferences, it's ok, with the new timezone and the correct time... but the digital one (that apears over the analog) is one our late too.
    There's even more: If I open the iCal... the scheddules remain ok, at the correct time... but the labels on each scheddule are one our late...
    Am I doing somethig wrong with the zic and timezone?
    Is the digital clock reading the time from another archive rather than the regular timezone archive?
    Thanks in advance !!

    I've the same problem. I'm in Montevideo, Uruguay too and created my own Timezone file (http://warpzone.homeip.net/Uruguay.txt) based on a old timezone file I had.
    The problem is the same as related here, the clock at the menu bar has the time without the daylight savings applied. If I select the clock outside the bar (in window mode) it works fine BUT the "24-hour mode clock" does not work.. it still shows the time in 12-hour format.
    If I type "date" in Terminal, I get the correct time and timezone.
    Any ideas?

  • Creating and Using View Objects on JDev 10g against SQL Server 2005

    I'm currently working on this project on Jdeveloper against a SQL Server 2005 DB (I couldn't talk this people to migrate to Oracle... :-( ), and it's the first time I work with JDev against a database other than 10g.
    I had no problem making the connection, and I can see the DB in Conections->Databases, but when I create an app. module, and create entities and views and add them to the app. module to access them through the Data Controls, these don't work. I can see the view on the Data Controls, and when I drag them to my jspx page it shows the menu that let's me choose whether I want to create a table, or a selection, or a tree, but once I choose one, it does nothing.
    I've search all over the internet and haven't found a solution, so I come to this forum desperate for help, seriously.
    Please get in touch; if anyone knows another solution that doesn't involve not using JDev or SQL Server 2005, please let me know, because I basically need to have a few selectonechoice showing some data from a few tables.
    Thanks for reading this post, and hope to get help.
    Carlos.

    Hi,
    can you run the model in the ADF BC tester ? If this is possible the SQL Server doesn't seem to be the problem. Are you on JDeveloper 10.1.3.3? If not, just get this latest build

  • Can we access tables created internally for Business objects in CAF

    Hi,
         When we create and Deploying Business objects in CAF then internally it creates tables in Oracle/Maxdb database. Can we access those tables through CAF.
              Or is it possible for Oracle to access the Business objects tables which are deployed on SAP Web Application server?
              We can configure the Oracle driver in the SAP Web App Server. But how can we use it?

    Hi Rohit!
    Can we access the tables created internally for BO's without the use of CRUD methods provided by them.?
    Or
    Can we fire queries on these tables through Oracle.? As the tables are created along with BO's in the database.
    Maybe, you can do that, but why do you want to do that?
    Based on the Entity Services (i.e., CRUD and find operations) that are generated for your BOs, you can implement Application Services which contain any business operation that you want to perform. Furthermore, you can expose your Application Services as Web Services. That's the designated way to do that.
    Manually manipulating the underlying database tables does not sound like a good idea.
    Best regards

  • How do I create multiple objects during runtime?

    I don't know how to create multiple objects during runtime, here's my problem:
    I get a String as input. Then I create an object called newobject. I put the object in a hashtable with the above string as key.
    Then comes the problem, in order to create a new object, I have to rerun the same class, which uses the same name (newobject) to create a 2nd object. Now my hashtable doesn't reference to my 1st object anymore...
    Is there anyway I can fill up the hashtable with different objects, and make each key point to each object it was supposed to?
    For those who want to see a bit of the program:
    public class PlayBalloon{
    public Hashtable ht = new Hashtable();
    for(){
    Balloon pB = newBalloon;
    newBalloon=new Balloon(pB);
    ht.put("Some input from user", newBalloon);
    for(){
    ht.get(s).draw;<= s=string, draw=own meth. in Balloon
    }

    I think i can see the problem that you are having. You have, in effect, duplicate keys in your hashtable - ie, two strings used as keys with the same name.
    The way that a hashtable works is as follows...
    When you ask for a value that is mapped to a key it will go through the table and return the first occurence it finds of the key you asked for. It does this by using the equals() method of whatever object the key is (in your case it is a String).
    If you cant use different Strings for your keys in your hashtable then i would consider writing an ObjectNameKey class which contains the String value that you are trying to put in the hashtable and an occurrence number/index or something to make it unique. Remember to override the equals method in your ObjectNameKey object or else the hash lookup will not work. For example
    class ObjectNameKey {
        private String name;
        private int occurence;
        public ObjectNameKey(String name, int occ) {
            this.name = name;
            this.occurence = occ;
        public String getName() {
            return name;
        public String getOccur() {
            return occurence;
        public boolean equals(Object o) {
            if (!(o instanceof ObjectNameKey)) {
                return false;
            ObjectNameKey onk = (ObjectNameKey)o;
            if (onk.getName().equals(name) && onk.getOccur() == occurence) return true;
            return false;

  • How to create a text object at runtime?

    Hi,
    I am using crystal reports for visual studio 2010 and using c# to programming.
    I need to create  a text object in a specific section like section 2. and also I need to control the text object's position and text.

    but object's position doesn't change at all.
    How can I do these (create a text object and change a object postion)?
    Thanks

    Hi Don,
    Thank you.
    I have downloaded a RAS ( report application Server ) sample.
    The sample uses the Business Objects Enterprise XI release 2. I am using win 7 and crystal reports for vs2010. Can I use this version of crystal reports to create  a text object at runtime? If not, what is the lowest version I have to purchase to achieve what I want?
    Basicly I need following capabilities at runtime:
    1) craete text objects, line objects, image objects.
    2) change text object, line object and image object positions, sizes, values of text object. If can I like to be able to change font as well.
    3) supress objects, sections.
    4) change section's height

  • Creating View Objects at Runtime for Validation

    In Oracle® Application Development Framework
    Developer’s Guide For Forms/4GL Developers tutorial there is a topic about Creating View Objects at Runtime for Validation.
    Is there any sample code available for this topic?
    Please help
    Regards
    S Karar

    I have created a helper method . The code is given below
    protected ViewObject getValidationVO(String viewObjectDefName) {
    // Create a new name for the VO instance being used for validation
    String name = "Validation_" + viewObjectDefName.replace('.', '_');
    // Try to see if an instance of this name already exists
    ViewObject vo = getDBTransaction().getRootApplicationModule().findViewObject(name);
    // If it doesn't already exist, create it using the definition name
    if (vo == null) {
    vo = getDBTransaction().getRootApplicationModule().createViewObject(name,viewObjectDefName);
    return vo;
    // Validation_bc4j_project of type ApplicationModule not found
    and created a validation method.
    The code inside validation method is given below.
    public boolean validateAvgMr(Number data) {
    String batch_catg = getQuality();
    // Get the view object instance for validation
    ViewObject vo = getValidationVO("bc4j_project.v_sqc0150");
    if (getTestStage()=="DOLLOP" && getQuality()=="DECO")
    // Set it's bind variables (which it will typically have!)
    vo.setNamedWhereClauseParam("batch_catg","DECO");
    vo.executeQuery();
    Number dol_mr_lcl=(Number)vo.first().getAttribute("DolMrLclStd");
    setStdMrLcl(dol_mr_lcl);
    return true;
    return true;
    I have checked the validation view and it is returing value with the same bind variable value but is not returning any value when using inside this method validation.
    I have checked several times but can't find the fault in the code.

  • Creating and Accessing a Dynamic View Object

    Hi,
    I'm needing to create a Dynamic View Object so to have the ability to modify the FROM and WHERE clauses in an SQL statement.
    I then need to view all the columns and rows in an adf table or something similar.
    I've read up a fair bit on similar situations, however I'm struggling with the basic framework of building the View Object.
    I know I'm wanting to use ..createViewObjectFromQueryStmt..but just unsure of the syntax in using it, especially connecting the VO to an Application Module.
    This is similar to what I've got now, located in AppModuleImpl.java
        public void createDynVO(ApplicationModule appMod, String FROMclause, String WHEREclause){
        String SQL = "SELECT JOURNAL_NAME, PERIOD_NAME FROM " + FROMclause + " " + WHEREclause;
        ViewObject vo = appMod.createViewObjectFromQueryStmt("DynamicView", SQL);
        vo.executeQuery();But how does it know what the application module is?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    -Chris

    Ok, I've actually modified my approach to this.
    I've created a View Object in the design view, added it to the App Module, and then created an iterator and bound an adf table to that iterator.
    The View Object which I created has the same column names as what I am going to be getting later down the track.
    Everything is working perfectly, except that I can't seem to bind variables to the WHERE clause.
    Below is what I have got running:
        public void recreateDynView(String FromClause, String whereCompany, String whereDepartment) {
             String sql_PAGE_ITEM1 = " AND PAGE_ITEM1 LIKE :P_PAGE_ITEM1";
             String sql_PAGE_ITEM2 = " AND PAGE_ITEM2 LIKE :P_PAGE_ITEM2";
             findViewObject("DynamicView1").remove();
             String SQLStmt = "SELECT PAGE_ITEM1, PAGE_ITEM2, PAGE_ITEM3, LINE_ITEM FROM " + FromClause;
             ViewObject vo = createViewObjectFromQueryStmt("DynamicView1",SQLStmt);
             vo.setWhereClause("1=1");
               if (whereCompany != null && whereCompany.length()>0){
                   vo.setWhereClause(vo.getWhereClause() + sql_PAGE_ITEM1);
                   vo.defineNamedWhereClauseParam("P_PAGE_ITEM1",null,null);
                   vo.setNamedWhereClauseParam("P_PAGE_ITEM1",whereCompany);
               if (whereDepartment != null && whereDepartment.length()>0){
                   vo.setWhereClause(vo.getWhereClause() + sql_PAGE_ITEM2);
                   vo.defineNamedWhereClauseParam("P_PAGE_ITEM2",null,null);
                   vo.setNamedWhereClauseParam("P_PAGE_ITEM2",whereDepartment);
             vo.executeQuery();
           }However whenever I input a value into one of the bound variables, I get the following error on the page.
       1. JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught: oracle.jbo.InvalidOperException, msg=JBO-25070: Where-clause param variable P_PAGE_ITEM1 needs ordinal index array.

JBO-25070: Where-clause param variable P_PAGE_ITEM1 needs ordinal index array.In the view object which i created at design stage, I've set the binding style to Oracle Named, so it should be alright. But obviously since I'm removing the view object and creating another version of it, it doesn't have the same binding style attached by default?
    Is there a work around for this? I'm so close!
